The battle between the two kingdoms has never found it's ending. The South and the North never got along, only both kings blood boil. Anger is the only thing that filled their satisfaction..well for one of them. The war went on for years. People have lost count. It felt normal to have such violence in the villages now. The pain and cries, the screaming and yelling. It always echoed in everyone's minds, regrets and guilts washing over them. But if course, it was never out fault. It's the king's to blame.

I'm Lara, the captain and warrior of the Kingdom Of Darkness. I fought in the war before. It was... disturbing, especially seeing two close bothers become separate and hateful of eachother that they can start a war. Yes, the two brother's, Nightmare and Dream. I work for Nightmare. Quite obvious because of what the kingdom is called. At the moment,

I was sitting on my wooden, old rusty chair in my dark dim room as I wrote a secret letter to Dream. We've secretly communicated with eachother for a few months, trying to find how to make peace. Suprisingly he prefers to just be called 'Dream' instead where Nightmare prefers to to with 'King' or 'Lord Nightmare'. The two are quite different. Especially by the aura they let out has a huge effect on their kingdom.

"and I hope we can.." I continued the sentence of my letter before I heard a knock on my door. I turned around and got up, walking towards the door and opened it. I saw my assistant, Cross. He's been working as a soldier under my command not long ago. He was the best out of all so I decided to give him a higher rank which is being my own assistant. "Yes?" I asked, curious since he rarely visited. "It's Lord Nightmare. He's calling you into the meeting room, ma'am." Cross answered, moving out of the way to let me through. "Alright. Assistant C, I'd prefer if you'd come with me" I said and left the room, having Cross to follow me from behind.

When we reached to the meeting room I knocked on the dark, huge purple door. "Come in.." Nightmare answered from behind. I opened the door and went inside. Nightmare was already sitting in his seat, in front of the table. I sat on the chair that's on the opposite of him, Cross standing on my left. "PRIVATE conversation.." Nightmare growled, giving Cross a cold glare. "Lord Nightmare, I'm sorry to interrupt but it's probably the best if-" "OUT" he cut me off, standing up from his seat. I looked at Cross and nodded, kindly telling him to leave. As soon as he left and shut the door behind him, Nightmare sat back down. He took out a letter and slide it over to me, telling me to read it.The paper was all scrambled(?) and messy as if someone crushed it in anger. I grabbed it, carefully reading each word from the letter;

"Dear Lana,

I've agreed to give you permission to freely wonder trough the halls of my kingdom. You have gained my trust over the past few months and I've been considering to make a deal with you.

From,"

The name was ripped off and I could tell that Nightmare was mad since he had a furious face on him. "L-lord Nightmare?" I stuttering, knowing that I was doomed. "Guess who the letter was from.." Nightmare growled, glaring down at me, his negative aura getting bigger and stronger. He then carefully placed the ripped of piece of paper. The name on it said;

"Dream."

I felt anxiety tower over me as I look up from the paper to Nightmare. He slammed his hands on the table, flying out of his seat as his tentacles came out of his back, larger then usual. "MIND EXPLAINING THIS!?" He yelled, making me flinch. He was that one King you would never want to see mad. "Lord Nightmare, if you would let me explain I can tell you that I'm not a-" "TRAITOR!"...
Silence filled the room, cold glares exchanged from eachother. I got up from my seat gently, my hands hold behind my back. "Lord Nightmare, I'm-" "DON'T 'LORD NIGHTMARE' ME, YOU PEICE OF SHIT!". Silence filled the room once again. I opened my mouth to explain everything but I was imidietly cut off with Nightmare's yelling once again, "LEAVE THIS KINGDOM AT ONCE AND NEVER RETURN OR I'LL HAVE TO ROTTING DOWN IN THE DUNGEON! IF I EVER SEE YOU AGAIN IN THESE WALLS I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD OR FEED YOU TO HORROR! I SHOULDN'T HAVE EVER AGREED ON HAVING YOU HERE EVER SINCE YOU WERE THAT LITTLE CRYBABY BITCH! I should have disowned you.."

We stood there in utter silence, nothing breaking it except for the door creaking open after a couple of minutes. I looked at the door and saw Cross, his eyesockets were only filled with darkness, no pupils in it. "Easedropping?" I said/questioned. Cross nodded. "O U T" Nightmare growled. I looked at Nightmare before bowing down, saying "Fare well Lord Nightmare.. until we meet again". I went back to my original position and walked out of the room, the two watching me leave. I could feel their stares and Cross's utter shock. Cross closed the door. I turned around and looked at him before bowing down to him.

"It was great working with you Cross. You have my permission to take my place as the captain" I said and took out a piece of paper and wrote,

'This is Lana writing this. I have gave Cross full permission to take my place as I leave this Kingdom. I'll see you guys later at war.. hopefully not'. I signed my signature at the bottom right.

I handed the paper to Cross. "Just in case the others won't believe you." I said and turned around and slowly took my steps to my room. Nothing but my footsteps echoed through the halls. "Ma'am!-" Cross ran after me as he spoke but I cut him off, "Lara is fine.. I'm not a part of this Kingdom anymore. No need to call me that anymore Cross Sir". He stoped in his tracks, knowing that I was the person who called him that, his captian.. well. Not really. "Lana?.." He mumbled. "Cross Sir?.." He mumbled again.

I faced him and smiled. "I better get packing. Lord Nightmare would kill me if he knew I was still in here" I said before speeding up to my room. I opened the door and looked around. Nothing much. I started packing, my books, clothes, anything important except for my weapons. I did kept a gun and a dagger tho. The rest now belongs to Cross. I'll be giving this room to him after all. I grabbed my bag and placed it over my shoulder, leaving the room. I sticked a paper saying "Cross's new room" on the door before walking off.

I walked down the street of these brutal villagers(¹). I could hear cries and yelling. I always wondered how it is in Dreams kingdom... "Wait.." I stopped in my tracks realizing what the letter said.. I started running, to the exit of this negative Kingdom. busting down the huge doors, the two door keepers looking at me as I was crazy. "I'M GOING HOME BITCHES!" I yelled, doing the middle finger at the guards before running off into the forest. "CAPTAIN LARA WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I heard them yell from behind but their voice slowly faded as I ran away, the distance between us getting bigger.

I got a new kingdom to live in!
