Chapter 13: The Game

Tsuna saw the students of Class E stretching on the side of the baseball field.

Takeshi was sipping some soda as he grinned brightly, standing next to Tsuna.

"Haha! Go get 'em, guys!"

The brunet studied the people surrounding the field; he could feel the arrogance oozing out of the opposing team. Tsuna sighed and his eyes spotted a familiar octopus; the Decimo chuckled softly when he saw that the other was disguised as a baseball.

The students of Class E also seemed to notice and sweatdropped.

The two teams met up at the home base; Tsuna frowned when the teen Kazutaka was saying something about being better than Sugino and humankind.

When they returned to their respective sides, Tsuna saw Koro-Sensei change into three colors; the brunet could hear Nagisa deciphering the code.

"Eto...turquoise, purple and ochre...so....he's saying, 'make a killing win'."

The team blinked in surprise before smiling at each other; Yuuma slapped Sugino on the back.

"We definitely have a much larger target, after all." The team grinned. "If we can't win against these guys of their level, we'll never be able to kill Sensei!"

They all huddled up; the Ikemen shouted first.

"Alright! Let's do this!

And the team responded.

"YEAH!"

Tsuna and Takeshi smiled at their enthusiasm.

"Let the games begin..."

~~

Masayoshi--'Justice'--was the first up to bat; he missed the first ball.

"Class E's Kimura is still standing there! If you don't swing the bat a little, you'll look really lame, ya' know~!"

Tsuna frowned when the announcer insulted the boy; the brunet saw a pebble by his feet and picked it up.

Takeshi laughed nervously and quickly restrained the other.

"Tsuna, Tsuna, Tsuna...no throwing rocks now, neh?"

The brunet huffed, getting out of Takeshi's hold while dropping the pebble on the the ground; Tsuna tugged his fedora down.

"He'll only get a minor concussion--it's not like he'll die, kukuku~!"

Takeshi sweatdropped at the evil glint in Tsuna's eye.

'I'm positive that you can still kill someone with just a pebble, Tsuna.'

They then saw Koro-Sensei giving signals to Masayoshi once more.

The dark, green-haired teen grinned and tipped his batter-helmet slightly in acknowledgement.

When Kazutaka pitched again, Masayoshi moved his hand to grip closer to the top of the bat as he kept his other hand wrapped around the hilt of the bat.

When the ball made contact, it bounced off and rolled away as Masayoshi quickly darted to first base.

"AAAND, IT'S A BLUNT! IT ROLLED TO A GOOD SPOT! THE INFIELDERS WERE CONFUSED FOR A MOMENT OVER WHO WOULD GET IT!"

Tsuna smirked at the shocked faces of the others, tipping his fedora up; Takeshi grinned widely.

Masayoshi was one of the fastest in Class E, and with the infielders confused, the green-haired boy got to first base with ease.

Nagisa was next up to bat, accepting the batter-helmet from Masayoshi before heading to the home plate.

Koro-Sensei gave his signals, and Nagisa shifted his stance slightly to get ready.

Tsuna chuckled when another blunt was hit, sending it to a perfect spot for Nagisa to have time to get to first base while Masayoshi went to the second.

Yuuma went up next and hit another blunt for the team; the three bases were filled.

The crowd was shocked.

"Wait a second here. What's going on?"

"The feel of the game is...off..."

"Impossible...the three bases are filled? By Class E members?"

Kazutaka had sweat pouring down the side of his temple as Sugino stepped up to bat; the bluenet's eyes were sharp and narrowed.

Sugino smiled as he thought of the training he had to go through with his classmates.

::(Flashback)::

"KORO-PITCHER THROWS A BALL THAT TRAVELS AT 300 MPH!"

"THE KORO-INFIELDERS FORM AN IRON WALL OF DEFENSE THROUGH DUPLICATION!"

"KORO-CATCHER WILL DISRUPT BATTERS' CONCENTRATION THROUGH WHISPERING TACTICS!"

Tsuna sweatdropped on the side as he watched Class E struggle with Koro-Sensei's style of baseball.

The brunet could easily see the ball moving in slow motion, but it was understandable for the students who had yet to adjust.

And then...Takeshi went up to bat; everyone expected for the other to miss the ball.

The ravenet grinned as he tapped the bat onto his shoulder, tilting his head slightly in Tsuna's direction.

*Can I let loose a bit, Tsuna?*

The brunet sighed.

*Don't reveal too much of your skills. And no Rain flames.*

*I wasn't planning on using them--that would be cheating~!*

Koro-Sensei blinked his eyes in surprise when he felt something...different coming from Takeshi; the octopus's grin widened.

'Nurufufufu~I might have to up the speed of my pitch~!'

The students also seemed to notice the change in aura; Nagisa widened his eyes slightly.

'Koro-Sensei looks serious!'

Takeshi tapped his shoe on the home plate as he tugged at his blue tie, loosening it slightly as he threw his suit jacket to the side; the ravenet continued to grin widely as he shifted his stance into a ready position.

Sugino watched closely; he could tell that Takeshi was like a professional by the way he stood there, holding the bat with confidence.

Koro-Sensei had green strips appearing on his face as he chuckled.

The octopus cocked his tentacle back.

Takeshi gripped his bat tightly.

Swish!

Everyone saw a white blur come from Koro-Sensei--the students could've sworn that the baseball caught on fire from being thrown too fast; it darted towards Takeshi.

For the briefest of seconds...Takeshi smirked.

Klang!

Everyone--sans Tsuna--widened their eyes when Takeshi's bat moved in a blur.

The students could've sworn that a hitman was standing before them, holding a katana instead of a bat.

But the image disappeared as Takeshi hit Koro-Sensei's pitch with ease; the ravenet grunted slightly from the power, but he grinned as he quickly pushed back and sent the ball flying.

Takeshi laughed as he shouldered the bat, shadowing his eyes with a hand.

"Home run!"

...And then Koro-Sensei appeared in the sky and caught the ball; Takeshi pouted as the yellow octopus grinned.

"Nurufufu~you're out, Takeshi-kun."

"Aww~!"

Takeshi then noticed the shocked expressions everyone had; he tilted his head.

"What's up, Mina?"

Nagisa quickly wrote something down on his notepad.

Yamamoto-san Fact #1: Do not engage him in a game of baseball unless you have a death wish.

::(Flashback End)::

Sugino chuckled at the memory as he readied himself.

When Kazutaka threw the ball; Sugino shifted his hands instead of the usual blunt position.

The bluenet grinned as he heard the solid contact his bat made with the baseball that Kazutaka threw.

Sugino threw his bat to the side and the Class E members easily made it to home base.

"I-IT'S A BASES-CLEARING TRIPLE! What the he**. That was unexpected--CLASS E'S TAKEN THE LEAD WITH 3 POINTS!"

Tsuna grinned brightly and Takeshi laughed.

And then a chill went up the brunet's spine; he narrowed his gaze a he spotted a familiar maroon-haired man with silver-brown eyes.

Gakuho smiled serenely at the brunet.

"Konichiwa, Tsunayoshi-kun. How are you?"

Tsuna smiled back.

"Just fine, Asano-san."

Tsuna felt Takeshi tense up beside him, but the ravenet still kept his eyes on the game.

Gakuho chuckled as he waved at Tsuna.

"Well now....I must go and see Terai-Sensei; he's apparently...ill at the moment, don't you think?"

The maroon-haired man smiled one last time at Tsuna before walking over to the panicked couch on the opposing team.

Tsuna heard the brief conversation between the two and saw the couch, Terai, faint; the brunet grimaced slightly.

'With words alone....this man is dangerous.'

Gakuho chuckled again as he turned to the baseball field, adjusting his tie slightly.

"Come, now. I'm just going to provide a little education, is all..."

Takeshi narrowed his eyes as he chewed on the straw of his drink.

The two mafioso were getting bad vibes from the man; the ravenet turned a questioning look to Tsuna.

*What's up with him?*

Tsuna gave a lopsided smile.

*He's someone you shouldn't let your guard down around. Just tread carefully when you're around him, Takeshi-kun.*

Takeshi hummed, sipping some of his soda through the straw.

~~

The opposing team was starting to catch up with Class E.

Kazutaka didn't seem to be acting like a normal human anymore, including the rest of his team.

Class E sweated slightly under the pressure that their opponents were starting to give.

Even Koro-Sensei couldn't give any signals to Class E anymore.

The only thing slowly the enemy team down was Sugino's pitches, which made some of the batters out.

But the other team was still catching up with Kazutaka at bat.

Takeshi gripped the fence in front of him, frowning.

'At this rate...' "Hey, Tsu--Tsuna?"

The ravenet glanced around frantically.

He used his senses and found the Sky flames above him.

The swordsman blinked in surprise when he saw his Decimo...sitting on the fence, which was pretty thin and hard to balance on.

"Tsu--?!"

"OOOOOOOIIIII! COME ON, CLASS E! YOU CAN DO IT! LET'S GO GUYS! COME OOOON!"

Takeshi and the other student blinked in shock.

Tsuna grinned as he took his fedora off, standing on top of the thin fence with ease; he waved the hat around.

"LET'S GO, CLASS E! YOU CAN DO THIS! DON'T GIVE UP!"

Class E was gaping at the brunet, but they quickly shook off their stupor, feeling a warmth in their chests at Tsuna's encouraging words.

And then...whispers started to come from the audience.

"Isn't that Dame-Tsuna?"

"Oh! You're right!"

"Ugh! What an eyesore."

"I know right?"

Class E bowed their heads as they clenched their fists.

'If they say anything else, we're going to--!'

"I hope he falls and dies."

"Yeah. It would be a big help to us all. Hahaha--!"

But then they suddenly clamped their mouths shut when they felt something in the air.

It was so suffocating, like there was knife pressed to each of their throats.

Class E glared at the crowd.

"Don't...insult...Tsuna-Sensei!"

Before they could possibly hurt anyone in the crowd, Tsuna placed two fingers in his mouth and whistled loudly, snapping them out of their bloodlusting anger.

The brunet smiled warmly at them.

"Maa, Mina-san. I'm happy that you're defending me and all, but you guys have a game to finish, neh?" Tsuna placed his fedora back onto his head as he smirked, murmuring softly enough for only Class E to hear. "'Make a killing win'."

The students blinked in surprise at the words before grinning.

*Hai, Tsuna-Sensei!*

Koro-Sensei blinked his beady eyes in surprise and chuckled.

'Such encouraging words...'

The octopus popped up underneath Karma's feet, telling the redhead to stir up the crowd slightly.

The next order though...was something that no one would've ever expected--although Tsuna had his Hyper Intuition and Takeshi had his hitman instincts.

Karma and Yuuta stood right in front of Kazutaka, who was close enough to hit them with his bat.

Tsuna sweatdropped at the new formation.

'Oh my...'

Takeshi laughed below.

"Haha! How bold!"

Sugino looked a bit apologetic as he sent his pitches; Kazutaka missed two.

On the third one, Kazutaka managed to hit a blunt, but there were Class E members there to catch it.

The ball was quickly thrown, and Class E was able to get the other opposing members out.

Class E won the Baseball Game.

The crowd was left gaping as the 'End' Class met together in a big group hug, laughing and cheering.

Tsuna grinned from his spot on the fence.

"Awesome job, you guys..."
