CHASE

Taking a sip of my whiskey, I put the glass back on the table. My eyes shifted to the corner of the room where Ares was standing, slightly leaning on the wall. His arms crossed on his chest, and eyes down. His face was serious, too serious for my liking. That fucker was a crazy bastard and if he was being serious, then the matter wasn't something to be taken lightly.

And I knew that very well. He wasn't someone to be taken for granted.

I glanced at my watch. It was exactly 9:27 pm. Three minutes still left before his arrival. I took another swig of my whiskey and leaned back on my chair. Looking up at the ceiling, I recalled the moment when he called.

We owe him a favour because he saved Ares once, during a mob war. Ares was still a teenager at that time and very reckless. He wanted to prove himself and almost lost his life. It was his gang members who protected Ares. But he was a cunning asshole. He knew how to take advantage of the situation, and how to play innocent when time came.. That's why the government was still unaware of the crimes he has committed.

A harsh knock resonated throughout the room. Ares stood up straight and tried to walk up to the door. But as soon as I raised my hand, he stopped.

"Come in," I said in a deep voice.

The door opened quietly and Draven walked in, followed by none other than him.

The guards assigned outside the room closed the door, as he took the seat in front of me, on the chair across the table.

His posture was stiff and I saw the slightly nervous look on his face, though he was trying to keep his face empty. He didn't have any weapon, as he was searched before entering my mansion. I was sure of the fact that...

He was afraid of me, and he should be too.

I'm Death itself, and he should fear me.

"It's nice to see you after a long time, Chase Morgan," he said trying to appear brave. I kept my poker face.

Looking straight into his eyes, I replied, "I wish I could say the same."

He let out a humourless chuckle. But I knew he wasn't someone to joke around with.

"Now, can we start the meeting Axel?" I replied in a dangerously calm voice. Draven and Ares, who were standing in the corner of the room, took their positions behind me.

They were my brothers, not my blood but by destiny.

"Straight to business, I see," Axel said trying to mock, but I kept my neutral face.

Realising the situation, that nobody was paying attention to his idiotic statements, he sat up straight.

"I'm here to ask back the favour you owe me; or specifically if I say, Ares owes me," Axel replied in a serious voice.

I clenched my fist that was resting below my chin. My elbow was propped up on the arm of the chair. I knew it, he wasn't here to discuss something trivial, and if he was asking his favour back now, after so many years it only meant one thing. That favour, could put our lives in danger, as he was powerful enough to easily solve petty matters. His asking the favour back now, meant he wanted us to deal with someone he couldn't take care on his own.

"Who is the person?" I asked in a deadly calm voice.

"Robert Wilson."

I tilted my head to the side, silently asking him to provide more information.

"He is a secret agent working for the government. The authorities had doubts on me from a very long time, but I was able to fool them. However I was unaware of the fact, that they have assigned someone to keep track on my works. He has some very important information which can cost me a lot," he said, his vice slightly wavering.

"What do you want us to do?" Draven asked, speaking for the first time since he entered the room.

"You need to take care of him, for me."

We all knew what he desires. He wanted us to terminate the spy, so that his hands remain clean.

Narrowing my eyes I looked at him and said nonchalantly, "After the deed is over, we won't owe you anything, Axel."

Out of the corner if my eyes, I caught Draven and Ares giving me cautious looks.

"I'm very well aware of the fact dear." He smirked.

I stood up straight, hands in my pockets, trying to show him that I was the one in control.

"Your wish is granted," I said in a deep authoritative voice, and walked out of my office.

Lighting up a cigarette I inhaled slowly, allowing the smile to slowly full my lungs. The guards who were standing at the corridor bowed down their heads in respect. I have to go to the basement to end my unfinished task. One of my enemy gang had sent an undercover agent in my mansion to discover my weakness. But these dickheads had no idea that I don't have a weakness.

I can't let history repeat itself.

No sooner had I started walking, I felt someone's presence behind. Draven had silently joined me. He was a silent brooding man. He speaks the least among all of us.

Ares would make sure, that Axel would leave the mansion without creating a problem.

The moment I took a sharp turn I collided with something, or should I say someone. The little bunny fell down on her ass and the cup she was holding shattered on the floor.

With eyes wide open, she looked up at me and that's when I noticed, it was Diana. She quickly stood up straight. Bowing her head, she shuttered.

"I-I-I'm so-sorry Sir! I-I didn't se-see you co-coming." She stammered uncontrollably. She was trembling a bit as if I would shoot her right now. Her eyes were down and widely open.

Narrowing my eyes, I stared down at her.

"It's Okay." Though I tried to reply softly, as the girl had gone through too much, but it came out a little harsh. I can't help it.

She flinched and started shaking more.

If I stood here one more minute, she would surely faint. So ignoring her, I started my venture.

As I walked further, I noticed Draven wasn't behind me. I turned back to see, he was staring at Diana very intensely. She was totally unaware of the fact. She kneeled down and was picking up the broken pieces of the brown cup. Her caramel hair, that was coming out of the bun was touching her eyelids, and Draven also kneeled down by her side. As soon as Diana felt a presence by her side, her face snapped towards him. Tucking a loose strand of her hair slowly behind her ear, she gave Draven a flustered look.

Ignoring both of them I walked through the dark hallway, and descended down the stairs. It was deadly silent and the only source of lighting was the single dim bulb.

I kicked open the door, and the harsh sound echoed through the damp walls of the basement. This place was hell itself, covered with blood and stale rotten odour of my victims.

Three of my men who were standing, surrounding my so-called victim, bowed their heads in respect.

As soon as his eyes met mine, they widened in fear. He was terrified of me and he should be.

Because when I would be done with him, he wouldn't be in one piece.

Playing with my prey had always been my favorite pastime. That look on their face, when the hope of life diminish from their eyes, had always given me immense satisfaction.

I smirked as my brain filled up with a slew of ideas. This was going to be so interesting. I would love to suck the life out of him.

Within three long strides I was by the side of the fucker. He was chained to the wall, his face was covered with bruises and he already has a purple eye. I glared at him and he cowered back into the wall.

Pussy!

"Did he open his mouth?" I asked Keven. He was one of my trained assassins. He shook his head negatively.

"I'm going to ask you for the first and the last time. Who sent you?" I asked in a deadly calm voice.

He kept his face down and remained mute. I looked at Draven who was standing behind me silently, as usual and he understood.

He sauntered to the other side of the room and opened the door of my weapon room. Grabbing a pilliwink he handed it over to me.

I looked at my victim and smirked. He was pale now, and had started trembling. I signalled my men to put him down on a chair, making sure to tie his hands and legs.

Taking his fingers and putting them within the pilliwink I looked at him. He was shaking violently.

"Will you answer now?" I asked.

When he didn't answer I started turning the handle of the device. He started thrashing his legs and stutterd, "Pl-please, I don't know anything."

This was what gave me a soothing sensation in my heart. The terrified pleas of my prey..

"Wrong answer."

Saying this I completely turned the handle, crushing of his fingers.

His agonizing screams echoed through the walls, giving me a pleasurable feeling within my body.

When he recovered from the pain he was still whimpering. My patience was hanging on a very thin thread. I again asked him the same question.

He still kept his mouth shut, which made me saw red. My inner beast was growling and it was craving death. Unable to control my temper, I punched him straight on the jaw and knocked him down.

"Continue the interrogation and make sure not to kill him." I told Keven.

As I was coming out of the basement Draven looked at me.

"We are leaving tonight. He had already provided the information we need," he said.

I nodded my head. It was a very dangerous mission as the government was deeply involved in it, but I trust my brothers. They won't disappoint me.
