~Lucy's POV
"She's beautiful," I said as I held my new born baby in my hands. Her face was cleaned up, sort of, but her body wasn't. I looked at Natsu and Nash as they inspected the baby.
Nash scrunched up his face. "No, she isn't. She's full under the blood!" he exclaimed with wide eyes, looking shocked at us.
Natsu rolled his eyes and smacked him from behind. "You just insulted your sister, good brother you are."
The nurse took the baby from my hand and smiled softly. "Did you guys already name her?"
I looked at Natsu who nodded at me. Nash also looked excited.
"We're still agreeing with Evelyn?"
"Hell yes!" Natsu shouted. I shot him a warning look before I nodded at the nurse.
"I will be taking her now to clean up and check her. You can rest now, Mrs. Dragneel."
"Thank you," I said, tiredness clearly on my face.
Natsu walked to me as he caressed my forehead. He kissed it before giving me his million-dollar smile.
"Sleep, we will be taking care of you," he said gently, knowing giving birth must take a lot of energy.
"Yes, we will!"
"Can I first take a shower?" They nodded as they saw my bloody hands.
...
As I returned I went straight into the bed, too tired to care. My vagina was hurting bad and I needed rest.
"Sleep, Luce."
I closed my eyes, a tired smile playing on my lips. Our family just got a new member.
Evelyn Dragneel.
~Nobody's POV
Once Lucy fell asleep Nash poked his father immediately. "Dad, why do you guys say she is beautiful without seeing her clean yet?"
Natsu squatted down to be on his height. "Look, there is a difference between being pretty and being beautiful."
Nash tilted his head. "There is?"
"You can have a pretty face without being beautiful. But you don't have to be pretty to be beautiful."
Nash laughed loudly. "You're confusing me more, dad."
"I think being beautiful means having a golden heart, you know? And pretty is just the appearance while being beautiful is within."
"You're not so beautiful then," Nash said after a while.
Natsu shot him a playful glare before lifting him up. "Well... I'm already a hopeless case, but you still have a golden heart so don't you dare ruin that."
Nash gave him a hug. "You're beautiful to mommy so I guess you are fine."
"Thanks, kiddo."
"Old man," Nash countered with a try to be smirk.
Natsu sighed, knowing that would be his new nickname for a long time.
After a while the nurse came back with Evelyn, cleaned up and everything. "Here, she's healthy, Mr. Dragneel. Congratulations."
"Thank you," Natsu responded politely.
"Would you like to hold her?"
"I want to!" Nash said and the nurse placed it in his hands.
"She's light," Nash exclaimed, bewildered.
"I thought she would have a lot more weight, considering Lucy has," Natsu said, joking playfully.
From the bed Lucy stuck up her middle finger, she still had her eyes closed though. "You're lucky I'm tired or else I would kick your a- butt."
Natsu's eyes went wide and his face turned to her. "You were awake?" he yelled in panic.
"Just you wait, Dragneel," Lucy said lowly. Even though she was tired, her voice was still threateningly.
"You're a Dragneel too," Natsu said. He slapped his forehead mentally. Way to make Lucy more irritated.
"And you're dead soon."
Nash laughed but didn't give them any time. "Hi, Eve, I'm your big brother, Nash."
"Her name is Evelyn," Natsu said with a raised eyebrow. He sighed in relief when Lucy turned to sleep again.
"I know. It's my nickname for her," Nash said annoyed.
Evelyn suddenly began crying. A lot.
Nash was shocked and shivered. "What do I do now? Dad, help! She's crying. Is it my fault? Help!"
"Just move your arms back and forth and whisper her soothingly. Or so I think. I saw Lucy doing it with you."
"You never stopped me cry?" Nash shot him a look.
"You wouldn't stop when I held you in my arms," Natsu defended.
Nash followed his instructions and she soon calmed down. He sighed relieved.
He placed Evelyn in his father's hand and smiled. "She's pretty."
And indeed she was. Inherited Natsu's hair colour, Lucy's eye colour and an adorable face.
Evelyn even smiled when she got in Natsu's arm. "I will be your favourite, right Princess?"
"Hey! You're wrong. I will be her favourite!" Nash said and pointed at himself.
"Shut up," Natsu snarled.
Nash grinned, looking adoringly at his little sister. "I have something to play with now," he said excitingly.
"Yeah, just when she grows up you will also be playing with her dolls."
"She doesn't look like a doll-type of child."
"How do you know?" Natsu asked with his eyebrow raised. "She just looks like a random baby now."
"I just have a feeling."
Nash's shirt was being lifted as he held his arms up, showing his healing scars. His smile shattered a little bit as he looked down.
"I hate those scars," he said, being upset. "They remind me of that."
He still hasn't recovered completely.
"Hey, it's okay. They just prove you're stronger now than before. No need to be ashamed."
"I'm not ashamed, I just hate how I got them."
"I mean it, Nash. One day, you will look back and be proud that you could handle it."
"I guess."
"I know."
-after a few days-
Lucy completely recovered from giving birth. Well, almost. She was now eating in the kitchen along with her family.
"I'm so tired," Natsu exclaimed, yawning along the way. He stayed up two nights, Evelyn was crying so much. Understandable though.
"Now you know how I felt," Lucy said, rolling her eyes.
"What do you mean?" Nash asked, stuffing his mouth with bacon.
Lucy pointed a finger at him accusingly. "You cried so much more than Evelyn. It was a pain in the ass taking care of you."
Nash blinked at his mother before he smiled annoyingly. "Aww, thanks, mum."
"I swear, Natsu, you teach Nash too much sarcasm," Lucy said with an eye roll.
Natsu shrugged. "Too bad."
"Do you know what Natsu said about sarcasm?" Nash began.
"No..." Lucy glanced at Natsu, who was beginning to sweat a little bit.
"He said that if I wanted to insult someone, I better not."
"And?" Lucy asked confused. Isn't that good?
"That you can better use sarcasm, because you don't insult them with words, but with intonation. Some people are stupid enough to not notice it."
"Great," Lucy mumbled to herself.
"You're using sarcasm yourself, stop trying to make me the bad guy here," Natsu exclaimed.
"Chicken nuggets off!"
Natsu smiled, showing all his teeth. "Love you too."
Evelyn began crying again when Natsu tried to feed her some food.
He groaned. "Not again."
"Taking care is hard, isn't it?" Lucy asked and rolled her eyes, hiding a smirk.
She walked to Evelyn and slowly calmed her down while Natsu was looking awestruck. "This is why women belong in the household."
"And this fist here will belong against your face soon if you don't stop talking."
"Yes, ma'am," Natsu said immediately.
Nash laughed. "You guys are so awesome to watch." He looked at his sister with a grin. "My new friend."
-Evelyn six years old-
"I'm nervous," Evelyn said, standing by the front door with a backpack. It will be her first day going to school.
The first day she will be without her parents and best friend.
Nash, already 13 years, stood before her and smiled gently. "Don't worry, sis, you'll be alright." He was wrong, Evelyn did play with dolls and teddy bears once she was older. Nash was always awkward when she asked him to join her, but he did, always.
"I hope so," Evelyn said, fidgeting with her fingers. Nash sighed and grabbed her hand in his. "Come on, let's go."
They walked with big steps to the front door of Evelyn's school. Nash opened his backpack and got something.
Evelyn's eyes glinstered when she saw what it was. It was a key chain Nash made for her on his school.
He engraved Evelyn's name in it. "This is for you, Eve. Consider it your lucky charm for everything."
Evelyn smiled widely. "Thanks."
"Now go, make new friends but no best friend that could replace me."
Evelyn giggled. "I wouldn't want to."
Somewhere in the distance Natsu and Lucy were watching their children exchange. "I love them," Lucy said out of nowhere with a smile.
"Who else?" Natsu smirked, raising his eyebrow.
"A pinky haired bastard."
Natsu grinned though Lucy just basically insulted him. "And I love you. I never expected my future to be great, you know? I love you so fucking much."
Lucy took her hand in his, staring him dead in the eye.
"I'm glad, you know, that everything worked out eventually."
They glanced at Evelyn leaving into the school and Nash returning to the car.
"Okay, here is the deal," Natsu began, "I get Evelyn and Nash is yours."
Lucy laughed loudly. "What about we get both?"
He thought about it before smiling. Natsu kissed her for a second. "Good answer."
"Ew, please no PDA in my presence please," Nash said from behind.
Natsu rolled his eyes and gave Nash a scowl. "Never knew having a kid could be this annoying."
Nash stuck out his tongue. "Oh please, without me you would be empty."
Natsu shook his head and gave a smile. "You're not my favourite."
"I know," Nash deadpanned, "That's mum of course."
"True," he said and turned to Lucy with a smile. "Forever my queen."
"Cheesy," Lucy said and opened the car. "Let's go."
Nash said in the back seat, Lucy in the passenger seat and Natsu drove.
"You know, Evelyn better not be kidnapped. I don't want her going through the same," Nash said with a lost look, staring out the window.
"But you became stronger, didn't you?" Natsu asked.
Nash nodded eventually. "But I still don't want her to go through it. I won't forgive myself if anything happens to her."
"Promise you'd care about her no matter what," Natsu said, stopping outside Nash's school.
"Duh. She's my little sister. Who do you think you're talking to?"
"You," Lucy deadpanned with a tired look.
Natsu threw a laugh to Lucy before grinning.
After they ditched Nash at his school, Lucy and Natsu went home.
Lucy yawned. "I'm going to our room, 'kay?"
Natsu nodded as he walked to the kitchen. "Do your thing. I'm getting some snacks." Lucy nodded and went to bed without another word. She let her clothes fall on the ground as she put off her necklace. She changed into her PJ, diving literally under the blankets.
She heard Natsu's footsteps. He came in a second later with a bowl of chips. Lucy opened her eyes amd sat up. "Thanks," she said as she reached out to the bowl. But before she could Natsu turned the bowl away from her.
"I said I will be getting some snacks... for me, not you."
Lucy stuck up her middle finger. "Honestly, fuck you."
He out his free hand up in surrender. "Geez, I was joking. Here." He handled her the bowl and Lucy smirked in triumph.
"I knew you would eventually give it to me, I just didn't know you were giving up so fast." She took a handful of the chips, eating it with pleasure.
Natsu already got another bowl and they ate together. "I promised, didn't I?" Over the years they got in a few disagreememts. Well, actually a lot. But one time Natsu made a promise to her whem they were having a fight.
"You're mine as much as I'm yours. Say what you always want and I'll say mine."
"Share your feelings with me more... and your food." Considering Lucy always made the food for him. Yes, he still made the pancakes, but Lucy made supper, lunch and everything else.
"That's it? Out of everything you could have chosen?" Natsu asked in disbelief. Lucy nodded. "Well okay," Natsu mumbled. "I don't want anything else from you than you're already giving me."
Natsu kissed her forehead. "I can't believe I let you make the calls now."
"You love me too much you'd give anything to me to make me happy." She knew that, Natsu knew that. Heck, everyone knew that. Her eyes softened. "Me too. My family's happines comes first."
"If you're happy, I a—"
"I know," Lucy interrupted, not wanting him to finish that sentence. "But enough about this little heart touching subject. The one who finishes the bowl of chips first wins. Loser will do the dishes a week long."
Natsu smirked. "You lost, Luce."
Lucy's eyes widened and she looked at Natsu's bowl.
It was empty.
She groaned at herself. Why making a bet you can't win? Natsu basically is known for his eating habits.
"The dishes for a week, huh? Nice." Natsu smirked again, throwing a chuckle.
"I'm stupid for making that kind of bet."
Natsu nodded. "Yup. But I still love the silly you, anyways."
