I still have to figure out how the ending will be of this book.

~Nobody's POV

They all went to their own territory again. Natsu thanked Sting for his support, in which he just smiled enthusiastically. "No worries." They weren't badly injured at all, not surprised because they were sly as fuck. "Although, can I get the trading market in the south for a while? Business's been slow."

"Of course. Mail me about it and I'll deal with it."

Natsu, Lucy and Zeref arrived at the Fairy Tail basement. When they all arrived everyone looked at them. Natsu held his head down, disappointed in himself, not wanting to meet the eye of others.

Funny how he always preaches about looking people in the eye to not show weakness.

He lost control. Knowing everyone counted on him and yet he lost control. How can he lead something so big if he can't think carefully?

Then everyone smiled and beers were in their hands. "Congrats on finding your son!" they screamed. None of the parents glanced and just walked further without a word.

Nash is still hurt.

Lucy looked worriedly at Natsu who was walking in front of him, not saying a single word.

Zeref apologized for their behavior, saying that they needed some time. "Does anyone know where Gray and Nash are placed?" Zeref asked.

They all said in the infimary room in the back. The four went there and was soon met the whole crew.

Lucy immediately went to Nash's side. She held his hand tightly. "Is he going to be okay?" she asked Porlyusica.

She nodded, her eyes soften. "He's going to be fine. But then there is Gray..."

Natsu looked up at her, his whole chest tightening already. "Go on." The men seeing their boss this way scared them.

Gray was his right hand and overall a brother figure. They were best friends. Even if you only see them fight, their love went stronger than their rivalry.

He knew Nash was going to be okay, so he didn't need much to worry.. but Gray...

Laxus sighed. "Depends, when the medicine is working the right way, then he will be okay."

"Is the medicine working the right way?" Natsu asked skeptically.

Porlyusica scowled at him. "I don't know, ask the doctor."

Everyone was silent, looking at her if she was crazy. "You're the docter," Lucy mumbled.

She heard and turned her head to Lucy. "Then trust me when I say he will make it."

"But you never said that," Gajeel said with a frown of amusement on his face. She gritted her teeth. "This is why I hate humans, always so arrogant."

Then she just low-key left.

Then she suddenly appeared again in the room. "Oh, and Natsu? Wash your hands, they're under the blood. And do you need me to fix that open wound on your cheek?"

Natsu looked down, having forgotten about them. Cuts and bruises were on them. His eyes hardened at the sight of them. "Thank you, but I'm gonna be fine."

Mira came back from a random room with a wet cloth. She handed it to Natsu.

"You're okay?" she asked worried. He nodded. "Yeah..."

Now even Lucy didn't know if he was sincery or not. Suddenly Levy and Juvia entered the room. "Gajeel? Gajeel? Are you hurt?"

Gajeel and Levy had their own conversation going on while everyone looked at Juvia.

"G-Gray-sama?" Juvia's shaking voice came out. She walked to his bed, tears welling in her eyes. She went beside the bed and sunk down on her knees.

"Gray-sama!" she shouted and cried then. Everyone looked at her, sadness in their eyes.

Lucy also had some tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Juvia, that this has happened because of us," she said while placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Love rival... why?"

"Because if I just did a good job on protecting Nash in the first place all of this wouldn't have happened."

Lucy did a good look around. Everyone was bandaged, from a little to a lot. Everyone here risked their lives to save someone else. "Then everyone would not be injured," she spoke with more tears in her eyes. She covered her eyes with her hands while going on her knees.

Now both Juvia and Lucy are crying.

Everybody was once again silent. Nobody dared to say a word. After a while Mira also dropped on her knees and embraced the girls.

"Don't cry. None of this was your fault, Lucy. Nash is part of the family, of course we were going to risk our lives."

She rubbed Juvia's shoulder. "Let's have faith in Gray that he will recover. I believe he will."

Natsu sat on a chair. Both his hands in each other while he was deep in thought. "Guys, thank you. Thank you all for doing this."

Mavis smiled. "Since when do you thank us?"

Her grin seemed to calm everyone done. Natsu scoffed. "Since now, but your tone makes me wanna take it back."

"Even stubborn at times like this," Jellal said with a laid-back chuckle.

"I mean it. Thank you."

"Who would have thought that Salamander would thank us? How cute," Gajeel said, half mocking him but it was all playful.

"Gaj—"

"Ash for Brains, shut up. It's over. No need to thank us. We would do it again if we must."

The two stated at each other, making some sort of promise while doing so.

Juvia then stood up and put a necklace on Gray's neck. "What is it?" Erza asked curiously.

"My good luck charm."

It was a necklace with a pendant attached to it in the form of Gray. So a Gray necklace, of course Juvia has one.

None of them said a word, just looking at Nash and Gray.

Lucy went to Natsu and sat on his lap. "Nash is too young to go through this," she whispered in his ear and embraced him tightly. Her face disappearing in his neck.

"Could you all please leave us for a minute here?" Natsu asked.

Everybody looked at each other and soon they left. All except Juvia.

"I'm not leaving Gray-sama. I just got him back," Juvia told Natsu, her eyes telling him that there is no way for her to leave him.

Natsu bit his lip, he obviously wanted privacy.

"Can we place Gray in the next room then?"

Juvia nodded and after 5 minutes everything was prepared.

Now Lucy and Natsu were alone in Nash's room.

Lucy slowly walked to him and carefully lifted up his shirt. "He has too many bruises and cuts."

"I know. But I also know he is going to be okay."

Lucy turned to him with tears in her eyes, "No! He won't. He is six, Natsu, six! And he went through all of that. He will get a trauma from this and don't tell me he won't."

Then she put her hand on her chest, "And I will also never forget this. I'm still scared shitless."

Natsu clenched his hands. "What do you want me to do?"

"Nothing. We can do nothing now."

He then walked to the other side of the bed. He looked at his son. He sat on the chair next to the bed and held his hands.

"We must help Nash recover from this," Lucy said, sighing sadly.

Then Lucy looked good at Natsu. There were tears in his eyes, close to falling. He will also get a scar on his cheek and his hair was overall messy. This hits him more than Lucy ever imagined.

"And all thanks to me," Natsu mumbled. His hands were shaking. Lucy placed a hand on his. Now the three hands of the family were on each other.

"Don't."

It was clear what she meant, don't blame yourself.

But Natsu couldn't help it, a year left his eyes and he retreated his hand. He covered his mouth, not wanting to let out his sobs. Fuck. He wiped away the tears. Nobody must see him like this.

"Natsu," Lucy said softly, embracing him in a hug. He stilled.

He didn't look so confident anymore. As if he was doubting himself right now. Looking back to everything that happened in the past hours...

Her eyes softened. She tightened her arms. "Don't doubt yourself and your abilities. We can only get stronger if we know our weaknesses, right? We'll get through this, together."

Natsu grabbed her tightly. "Thank you," he whispered, his voice getting hoarse.

"I blame myself too, but I know it doesn't get me any further. So stop crying, it's not your fault."

Ironic, isn't it?

The moment Nash was kidnapped Natsu told Lucy to not cry.

And now that Nash is saved Lucy tells Natsu to not cry.

Natsu walked back, away from Lucy's touch. Lucy felt a pang of hurt going through her.

"No, you were completely right. Without me and my life Nash would have peace. If I hadn't had enemies, they wouldn't have tortured him. Everything comes back to me. They kidnapped him because of me. They tortured him, because they wanted to see me devastated. You guys are better off without—"

"Natsu motherfucking Dragneel" Lucy yelled at him to get him out of his miserable thoughts. He stopped immediately, gasping as if he was out of breath.

"Nash needs us. He needs all the love he can get. You are the best father Nash could have and don't ever doubt that. You can't control everything. They chose the physical revenge. This was their doing, not yours. I will never leave you, I vowed," Lucy said.

Natsu was atonished by this and couldn't mutter out words. "I love you too much for that. Nash and I both do. Family is everything, right? Even if this would happen again, I won't ever get the courage to leave you. Nash and I will get over it, believe me, we will. You taught us how to be strong. We just need time."

Natsu gritted his teeth. "How can you say that I'm the best father?"

He had after this whole situation so much doubt in himself.

Lucy walked forward and out of nowhere she slapped him. His head whipped to the side.

"Because you love him with your whole being. Stop doubting yourself," Lucy said and closed her eyes tightly while looking away.

Natsu was once again speechless. Where was this conversation heading to?

Natsu wiped away his tears. "I love you so much."

"Forgive me?" he asked with a tiny smile breaking free. This situation got out of hand. But now it all went through Natsu's head.

They love him, no matter what.

Lucy also smiled. "There is nothing to forgive you for."

Suddenly they heard sobs. They slowly turned their heads to the source. Nash was sitting there on the bed and was crying.

Lucy took one last glance at Natsu. They wasted no time and hugged him. Lucy stroked his head, "You're safe now." He flinched at the touch, and Lucy immediately removed her hand.

The only thing that scared the parents was Nash's appearance.

No, not the cuts and bruises.

But the way looked drained of life and that he wasn't speaking at all.
