It looks like Alex and Kai has a great time. They laugh a lot together. Both me and Mia are watching them from far. "What do you think they are talking about" Mia says. "I hope it's not what I think it is" I say. Usually when the son of a mafia turns 18 the family usually wants him to marry. And I don't want that to happen. Alex and Kai looks back at us. We both panic and look away fast when the guys see us watching them. Well this got embarrassing.

"Sir can we get like 4 glasses of wine" I say to the waitress. He nods and runs of to get our drinks.

When our drinks arrive we chug them like water. It tastes so horrible but I want to forget whatever's going to happen next. I hope for god sake that nothing will happen and I go to bed like a normal person. I just want this to be a normal ball.

"Shit I can't stand up" Mia says. I think two glasses was a bit too much in that short amount of time. Because now I can't stand too. I hold onto the table as I stand. Shit. It's really dizzy.

"Mia common the bathroom" I say grabbing her arm and trying to lift her up. We can't embarrass us here at a mafia ball. It wouldn't look good for my brother. We both try to walk straight as we head for the girls bathroom. I think we are failing because some are looking. These heals are killing me. We throw the door open and both get inside. "Lock the door" Mia says throwing herself on the toilet to puke.

I tuck her front pieces behind her ear so it won't get in the way. "Why would we drink wine that fast. We took it like a damn shot" she says angry at herself for ruining the first ball she's ever been to. "I'm sorry I was the one who ordered the wine" I say disappointed in myself.

I try to walk past Mia but slip on her dress. I scream as I hit the floor. That hurt my back. Mia looks back at me and we both start to laugh so much it gets hard to breathe. We are now both on the floor trying to get our selfs together. "We have to sober up" I say standing up.

"Well we can't lock ourselves in here for the whole night" Mia says grabbing onto my arm and pulling herself up.
"We just have to act sober, that we can do right?" She says and I nod. I'm very sure we can't just act sober, but I refuse to lock myself in here. We both take off our shoes because I can't risk to fall. Barefoot it is from now on. My dress is long enough to cover my feet so hopefully nobody will notice.

We walk out of the bathroom acting so normal.

I bump into someone. I turn around. "Amelia" a happy Adan stands in front of me.
"No freaking way!" I yell out of happiness. I throw myself in his arms. "What are you doing here" he says hugging me tightly. I break the hug to look at him. "You showed up just in time, Mia and I are going to dance come with us" I say grabbing both Mia's and Adans hand and drag them to the dace floor. "Amelia where the fuck are your shoes" Adan says laughing at me. Then he looks at Mia who also doesn't have shoes on. "Oh I see you guys got drunk" he says.

"Maybe a little" I say then dance. I've missed Adan and I get that he had to stop talking to me because Ezra is after all his boss.
"I wanted to check on you you know" Adan says caring for me. 
"me too but I just couldn't, it reminded me too much of him" I say, and I know it sounds like an excuse but I really love the friendship Adan and I have. I regret now that I haven't reached out because he has done so much for me, seeing him here today was everything I needed. I give Adan a hug then make him dance too. "Still the same old Amelia" he says smiling. Music is playing loud and so many people are dancing. Mia grabs my hands and we start to spin in circles. Adan just laughs at us.

An hour passes by and I've danced like crazy. My stomach hurts from laughing.

"Amelia what are you doing" kai says grabbing my arm and pulling me away from Mia. Mia gives Kai a mad look because who grabs someone like that.

"Hey let me have fun" I say yanking my arm away from him. Who is he to tell me what I can not do. "You are totally embarrassing me and yourself" he says then looking down at my bare feet. He puts his hand on his forehead out of embarrassment. What is up with him. "Why are you acting like this I am just having fun." I say trying to stand steady. Adan runs off. Well thanks for that.

"Because you have ruined the plan I had for tonight." He says looking deep into my eyes. "What plans?" I ask not knowing what he's talking about. "I was going to propose to you tonight but here you are drunk" he says.

Shit.

"You were..." I mumble as I see people start to look at us. "I love you so much. I can't see my future with anyone but you Amelia. You are everything I've ever needed." He starts then gets on his fucking knees. No. No shit. Stand up.

I look at Mia she gives me the 'what do we do now' look and honesty I have no idea of what to do or say. He takes out a ring from his pocket and opens the box. A beautiful ring. Too beautiful to be worn. And where is Alex. He has to stop this.

"Amelia" Kai says and I look at him. So many people are looking. "Yes?" I mumble knowing exactly what's coming. Please save me anyone. I can't do this. "Will you marry me" he says. This will be remembered for centuries. A scandal if I say no. His whole family will be laughed at. "I... i can't" I say and right after the lights go off.

The whole place is dark and I can't see anyone's faces. Everyone gasps. I take a few steps back not seeing anyone because of the dark. Suddenly I bump into someone. A scent that has stuck with me for moths. His hands grab me and I turn to look at him. Eyes. I could recognise those eyes even in the darkest room. I gasp out of shock. My heart pounds so fast. Am i too drunk for this. Maybe I am dreaming. I shake my head then open my eyes. He is there. Right infront of me. Ezra.

"Do you want to marry this man." Is the first thing he says. I don't know what to answer. It's like he heard my thoughts. Has he been here the whole time. "Amelia do you want to marry him." He says shaking me out of my thoughts. My name sounding so good when he says it. "No" I say under my breath. What the hell am I doing. Why am I still here. I don't even know where Kai is. "Can you walk in the dark?" he asks me looking so deep into my eyes I have to look away. "I'm...drunk" I ay letting him know I can barely stand straight. Without any hesitation Ezra picks me up in his arms. He walks me fast out of this place. I can barely see where hes taking me because of the dark. I start to cry. I don't know why. Maybe because Kai will be so hurt by this. Or because I've allowed Ezra to even get this close to me. I don't want him here. I was fine until now.

"I got you" he says stepping outside. He walks me down the stairs and puts me down gently. I take a few steps back. Gravel making my feet hurt. Where even is my heals. "Amelia where are your shoes?" Ezra asks smiling slightly. Gosh that smile.

"I don't have to tell you anything" I say standing up for myself. I won't allow him to get to me again. I hate what he has done to me and the kind of affect he has on me. "We need to get you out of here" he says opening his car door for me. "Fuck no." I blurt out. "I am not getting in your car." I say crossing my arms.

"Amelia now that you've said no to Kai Admos his whole family will try to kill you. You have embarrasses their youngest son and I can't let them hurt you" Ezra says.

"I don't want your help, Kai would never let them hurt me." I say so confident. "Are you sure about that? Because he looks very mad to me." Ezra says pointing at Kai and his men. "Amelia!" Kai yells from the top of the long stairs. His guys has guns and they are all starting to run towards us.

"Get in the fucking car Amelia" Ezra says now sounding so stressed and worried. He's scared. And i have to say that I am too. Would Kai really hurt me. I can't risk to die so I get in Ezras car. My god I had promised myself to never do this again.

Ezra hops in on the other side. Kai is so freaking close now. "Ezra drive!" I yell scared for my life. He does and we are out of there in just seconds. I look back from my seat and shit we are being followed. "I need to get home fast" I say turning to look back on the road. "No way, you have no guards there" he says as if he knows where I live. "I am not going with you" I say. "Focus Amelia it's your life we are talking about, you know damn well I can keep you alive" he says. And yes I know he can protect me. He has for a long time but I don't want it. I don't want him to protect me.

"No let me out" I say trying to open the door but it's locked. He's so annoying. "Stop the car, I can protect myself" I say still trying to open the door. He keeps his eyes on the road as we drive over the speed limit. He then turns to me and grabs my chin and forces me to look at him. "If anyone hurts you I would burn the fucking world, so sit down and let me handle this" he says. I am speechless. I become quiet and decide to trust him. Not good. Last time I trusted him he broke my heart. But today I have to because he is right and I hate to admit it. He is my only chance to survive from this.

The Admos are after me because I brought shame to their name. To say no to a mafias son doesn't sound too good. Fuck I should've never had given Kai a chance. Why did I ever think I could love him. I could never love anyone else. It was all my fault I put myself in this position. Ezra parks the car and we run to get me inside. Three cars pull up from behind us. "Get upstairs now!" Ezra says then closes the front door. He walks out to face Kai. Ezra's guards protecting him in every way.

I run upstairs and press my face on a window to watch everything. Kai is shouting something as Ezra keeps calm. They are talking. But I can see anger in Kai's face. This is a side I've never seen from him. It's scary. At first he said he loved me and the next he is ready to kill me, how could that ever be love.

Kai points his gun at Ezra. And suddenly my heart stop. I stop breathing.

Ezra keeps his hands in his pockets. His men now pointing their guns at Kai. Something changes in Kai he looks scared. Whatever Ezra said it worked because Kai lowers his gun and backs off. As Kai walks back to his car Ezra pulls up his middle finger and points it at him. Making Kai so freaking mad.
