"Jungkook-ah! Jungkook? Are you up?"
Jungkook opened up his eyes, gaze wandering around his room while hugging his pillow during sleep. He yawned and sat up on his bed, thinking what would the time right now as he could see a bright sun staring at him from the window.
"Jungkook,"
Jungkook snapped up his head at his name being called. He hissed, massaging his temples as he feels a little dizzy along with a pounding headache.
"M-mom, what are you doing?" He asked as his gaze met with his mom who was looking breathless as she used stairs to get there. A tired face, Jungkook feels bad for her. She doesn't deserve it.
"You weren't responding, so I had to check on you." She responded, opening the door of Jungkook's room so she could get in.
"You got me worried." She added, walking to Jungkook and sitting beside him. She wasn't that old yet Jungkook could see wrinkles on her beautiful face.
Jungkook's expression softened.
"Don't worry about me, mom. I'm fine-"
"You never slept for more than 8 hours and its almost afternoon." His mom pointed out, before letting out a sigh.
It's Taehyung's fault that he woke up in afternoon.
"Something wrong?" Everything.
Jungkook shook his head. His mom let out a chuckles.
"You can talk to me, alright?"
Jungkook nodded before taking off the blanket around him and crawling to his mom's embrace for a better place. He felt his mom wrapped arms around him - holding him in the warmth. Jungkook feels so drowsy in her warmth as if it was the best place to close his eyes forever. A hand was caressing his back and raking through his hair making him more sleepy like a child.
"Better, Jungkook-ah?" His mom asked, earing a soft humming from Jungkook.
"I have been feeling anxious since few days." Jungkook began. "Taehyung, I had caught him cheating on me but it was a misunderstanding but I don't know if he was saying truth or....."
Jungkook took a deep breath. "He says a lot of things which made me to re-think. But again he always distant himself from me and just disappear somewhere for hours without informing and when I ask him anything he gets annoyed or say that he was busy." He let out slowly, whatever into his head, he just poured out what he had been bottled up as his mom was the best and always listen to him, even if a matter is small. She was the only bestfriend who wouldn't stop him from ranting and let him continue until he stops.
"Nowadays, we fight more and then sort out. But it still doesn't feel right. I feel more insecure when I caught him using phone infront of me. He never look at me the way he used to, he always looks so tense and angry at everything. He only approach me when he seems calm."
Jungkook paused, hugging his mom a bit tighter.
"I love him, mom. I wants to love him more, I see myself with him in the future. I really want a future with him, I don't want anyone else. I wouldn't able to move on if something bad happens in between us."
His mom caressed his back while he kept letting out everything.
Jungkook haven't gotten proper slept for few days in his apartment. How could he able to sleep when his boyfriend suddenly wakes up at dawn and rolling away from their cuddling position just to check his phone and quickly getting back to cuddle him after texting away someone.
He wasn't stupid because he knows something was definitely off. Whenever he tries to talk to Taehyung about these matters, the male always begins to kissing him or making excuses to get out of their apartment. Again leaving for hours without any information.
"Taehyung seems a nice guy. He loves you a lot, right? He'd never thought of cheating on you. Maybe, he has his own to hide things from you? Maybe he's scared to make you worry about himself. People tends to hide things from their beloved ones which could hurt them and who wants to hurt their beloved ones, right?"
"Lying about something is not a solution, mom." Jungkook looked so distress, almost at the verge of crying because that's not how he wanted things to out like that. He dreamt of better things, not even perfect.
"Who says he's lying. Sometimes, hiding something which you wouldn't like to be associate with anymore when you're with that particular person where you found comfort because you might fear to lose them, isn't counted in lying. Past scares everyone, baby." Jungkook's mom, pulled out of the hug and wiped off every streaming tears out of Jungkook. Slightly stroking his hair and giving him a sweet smile so he could feel ease of all those overwhelming feelings.
"Some memories are created to just fade away because they hold you back from moving forward. Or maybe, you might start to accepting the reality but you just want the memory to fade away."
Jungkook was a crying mess. Red eyes and red cheeks and an overwhelmed heart.
"I can't h-help because of in-insecurities."
"Give him time. He might be worry for his own insecurities that he could lose you."
Jungkook wiped away his tears with the back of his hands and laid his head down on his mom's lap.
"I've given him enough time. I always tries to make sure he doesn't hesitate to talk to me. To tell me when he had a bad day so at least I could be there for him. He's so secretive about everything that it scares me." He began, closing eyes at the warm feeling of getting head pat.
"But want to make sure that he feels loved and that I'm here for him whenever he needs me. B-but again w-why c-can't he..." Jungkook sobbed hard, nose clogged up as he sniffles while keep wiping his tears. Why does he have to be so sensitive about everything? Like Taehyung said. Can't he just be less curious and more put trust into his boyfriend.
"There, my baby."
With that Jungkook closed his eyes - calming himself from thinking too much. Feeling his back getting caressed by his mother till he feels his breathing get normal. Maybe Taehyung find his comfort by hiding and Jungkook wouldn't blame him as he does the same.
The day seems like went by so fast after he woke up at afternoon. He took a shower while taking sweet time to take care of his body and caressing those fading hickeys over his inner thighs reminding him of those nights. He then had lunch with his mom and his uncle who would always like to bicker over small things. Jungkook couldn't help but smile at them while eating.
"Jungkook, tell your mom who makes the most delicious food in this house."
He heard while washing the dishes, they haven't finished their bickering yet. Jungkook shakes his head.
"Of course, it's me. I also have taught Jungkookie how to cook because he loves my cooking."
"Kook, tell me did you enjoy today's lunch or not?" Dojin asked, glancing over Jungkook while maintaining a glaring gaze at Jungkook's mom.
"Sure." He replied shortly because he doesn't want to involve himself into their bickering.
"See? He loves my cooking more than yours. In conclusion, I'm capable of becoming a chef."
"I think Christmas Eve is coming, kookie. Wouldn't you like to have your favourite pie on that day?" His mom threatens as Jungkook dares to take side of his uncle.
"You're nothing infront of mom's cooking." Jungkook said quickly and gulps down as he feels his mouth getting watery because his mom makes the best pie in the world and he wouldn't like to lose any opportunity to have them.
"Jihye, how can you threaten him infront of me." Dojin said in disbelief. Jungkook chuckles, placing the dishes into their places and drying up his hands with a towel.
".....exactly because I'm not the one who almost burnt down the kitchen." Jungkook suppressed his laugh, walking into the living room where his parents were sitting.
"It wasn't me. It was Jungkook-"
"Don't drag him into your mess. Who the hell told you two to pull an experiment in my kitchen that day?" Jihye let out in distress while remembering how she come home back just to meet with a terrifying sight where everything was mess and a twelve years Jungkook was given to make some batter at sitting on floor while Dojin was playing with the microwave's light while making the little Jungkook giggle.
"Any accident could happen that day. That's why I'm afraid to send you two in my kitchen." Okay, now his mom really sound mad.
"Especially, you Dojin. What was wrong with you that day?"
Jungkook pursed his lips, preventing himself from laughing because Dojin is the older one in the house and his mom does scold anyone despite of who you are, where you're from, your skin color or gender identity, she will drag you if she see anything wrong.
"But nothing happened, right?"
He broke into smiles but it faded away instantaneously when his gaze fell upon his phone which was resting on table.
tae 😚 is calling you...
Jungkook immediately walks to the table and decline the call. He plopped down on the couch near his mom who continues to scold his uncle who was regretting some of his life decision.
He let out a small smile before switching off his phone, even though, he could see few notification from his boyfriend.
5 missed calls... 16 messages... From tae😚
Sometimes, it's alright to take breaks from something which could rile up anxiety. He chucked his phone on the table before hugging his mother and broke into giggles looking at Dojin who lowered his head while his mom continued to scold him.
"What are you laughing for? You're not an innocent one here. Why did you involve yourself into your uncle's stupidity?"
"You're talking about ages ago, maa." Jungkook whined softly.
"I know right-" Dojin said, glancing at Jungkook but immediately shut his mouth when Jihye glared at him.
"Ages? It seems ages for you but what would happen-"
"Uncle Dojin, how about we do a starwars movies marathon?" Jungkook quickly stood up, cutting off his mom because he and his uncle knows how long those lectures gonna end.
"Watch me burning down every electronic devices in his house." Jihye glared at the duo who walks away from there.
