Confession: I waited seven months before reading this book.

Why, you ask? QoS left us in an okay place, almost a calm before the storm (no pun intended because little did we know the title of book 5 would have storm in it) I knew that two more books were coming. Which meant that SJM was gonna shake things up before her big finale...

Can anyone say "understatement"?

The women were kick-ass amazing in this one. Lysandra with her shape shifting, Elide with her acting skills and bad ass courage, Aelin with all the damn fire, Manon with the heart of survival, Elena with her secrets. Even Maeve with her last minute OMG bomb-dropping-throw-everyone-into-a-tizzy-then-take-off shenanigans!

Anyone see the Lorcan/Elide ship coming? Bah! Not me! But that storyline kept me reading on.

Honestly this one moved a bit slowly for me, it took a good two thirds of the book before I started ignoring my family.

But then, I was like "get it yo damn self" for a good six hours so I could find out the end.

It wrecked me, left me hollow and dead inside. Yeah, because she practically destroyed my heart so how could I continue living? I am a hollow shell of a woman waiting for the last book.

Maeve's twist at the end was surprising, and not at all surprising. How often does the villain spew their entire evil plan right before "killing" their intended victim? I have a feeling Aelin will have a few surprises up her sleeve. All the factions are in place, now it's time to unleash the wrath of Terrasin on the evil queen and gods' assess. That's right, I think Aelin will triumph. Call it a spoiler alert, or whatever you want, but when it has a HEA ending, make sure to give me all props for calling it.

Rowan is gonna come to her rescue, only to find that she ends up rescuing him. And all the rest of Erilea. So yeah, Aelin will officially reclaim her crown because the fire-breathing bitch Queen deserves it!
