Sneak
(Unknown)
She sat at one of the cocktail tables, drinking wine and sampling appetizers.
She pulled up her skirt and I saw what looked like a garter belt on her thigh and breathed in slowly.
She payed the waiter, got down off of her stool and had to catch her balance.
When the girls left the restaurant, I followed them.
(Kalila)
Gwen and I watched Ty pull around to pick us and up from the curb.
"Hey", Gwen said and I looked at her, eyebrows raised.
"If you didn't know your name, where did "Lila Heart" come from?"
I smiled. Thinking back at the memory.
This one I remembered.
I sat in the waiting room with the social worker. I'd been here a few times now.
The nice man came out of his office and smiled at the social worker, shaking her hand.
"Thank you for working us in again, Dr. Salem", she said and he told her "Of course".
He then looked down at me.
He had a dark mustache and beard. His hair was very light brown, long and pulled into a ponytail. His glasses were thick and black.
"Hi there", he said, leaning down.
"Are you ready to hang out with me, sweetheart?"
The two chairs, facing each other were there, as usual, and I went to sit in one. He followed me and sat down in the other.
"You know what I think would be fun to do today? I'm going to try and guess your name!", he smiled and then leaned back in his chair.
He squinted up toward the ceiling and scratched his chin through his beard, looking like he was thinking hard.
"Mmmm....is it....Sarah?", he asked, excited.
I sat still and continued to watch him.
"No? Hm. Okay. What about...Elizabeth!", he said and I remained unresponsive.
"Alright....mmm....Spot!", he smiled wide.
I furrowed my eyebrows and he laughed.
"Okay, okay, not Spot....is your name....Porcupine?", he opened his eyes wider.
I gave him a look as if saying "seriously?"
"I know it! Your name's Tickle Bug!"
I cracked the tiniest smile and his smile grew when he saw it.
"Oookaay, okay. You know what? I got it. I know it. Your name....is Jellybeans!"
I giggled the tiniest bit and he laughed.
"Okay!", he smiled.
"Jellybeans it is! How are you today, Jellybeans?"
I smiled, shaking my head and snickered.
"Oh, your name's not Jellybeans, huh?", he scratched his head in thought.
"What is your name?", he asked, kindly.
My smile faded and I looked down at my knees. I looked back up at him with a worried and apologetic look on my face.
"Do you know your name, sweetie?", he said, softly, looking kindly at me.
I shook my head.
"Well, you know what? I think it's time for you to get a name then!", he beamed at me and I smiled back, very excited.
"You may know that most people have a first, middle and last name", he said.
I kept looking at him with no response.
"For example, my name is Xavier Alan Salem", he smiled and then wrinkled his nose up like he smelled something bad, then leaned towards me a little.
"I don't really like it", he whispered, like telling me a secret.
"But you, you get to choose your name!", he said pretending he was envious.
"How cool is that?!"
Forty minutes later we walked out of his office and I was smiling with pride.
Dr. Salem walked behind me to the social worker and said to her, "I'd like you to meet Miss Kalila Delila Heart".
Gwen looked at me and laughed.
"You named yourself Kalila Delila?"
"Hey! I was ten years old! I thought names that rhymed were cool!", I laughed.
Ty opened the car door and held a hand out to me to help me out of the car.
I stood looking at this next place Gwen suggested.
I hooked her arm with mine and we made our way to the entrance.
About thirty minutes later, I didn't know how many drinks I'd had.
I was feeling freer with every swerve of my hips.
I closed my eyes and swayed with the music.
Everyone on the dance floor seemed to rock to the songs, losing themselves as I was, dancing to the music that blasted in the dark club.
A few guys had rubbed up against me, but nothing invasive.
A pair of hands grabbed my hips and spun me around.
I opened my eyes and jumped as Niall pulled me by he waist, pressing me against his chest.
"Hello, Beautiful", he grinned, friendly.
(Harry)
I drove down the dark street and suddenly, I felt like someone had dumped ice water on me.
I knew what had been bothering me.
I knew what had been feeling off.
The conversation replayed in my mind.
I had just told Tom about the pictures that Zayn had.
I sat with him, Olivia and Cheryl.
"Even if the place is full of people, if she's not in it, it seems empty to me", I said to the three of them.
"This is....I'm so sorry, Harry", Olivia said.
"Yeah", Cheryl whispered and she had tears in her eyes.
"Seven months isn't that long to wait, Harry! After she turns eighteen-"
"She gets married", I cut her off.
"The weekend after her birthday, they get married", I said and Cheryl looked down.
The alcohol clouded my thoughts that morning, but it was clear now.
I never told Cheryl that Lila turns eighteen in seven months
