Dan sobbed quietly in the corner of his room with his headphones on listening to sad music and love songs. It was Saturday now, it had been 5 days since they broke up.

"Dan?" Dans mum said, sounding slightly concerned.
"Yeah, mum?" Dan said. He sounded slightly angry, and very heartbroken. While he had been trying his best to hide it from his mum, he didn't realise that his mum had wandered in during him crying.

"Dan, sweetie, what's wrong?" His mum asked.

The trouble with this situation is that Dan would usually be a content child. Even as a baby, he wouldn't normally cry, so when he did cry, his mum knew that there was something wrong. Growing up, Dan always defeated the teenage stereotypes of being 'grumpy' or 'moody' and was almost always happy.

"Nothing" Dan answered, bluntly.
His mum leaned over and snatched his headphones and phone away from him. Then he sat on the bed next to him and asked again "What's wrong?"
Dan told his mum.
"Me and Phil broke up on Monday after school. I really miss him mum."

His mum didn't know what to say so she got off the bed and sat in the floor, proceeding to bring Dan into a hug.
"Why did you break up?" she asked
"Those things were still being said so we went to the headteachers office and told her about it and I got angry at her so Phil went and talked to her alone and I was alone for a few minutes and that got me thinking about it and I said it and I have regretted it ever since."

"Oh Dan!" His mum looked at him sympathetically and asked "Do you wanna watch a movie?"

"Yes please."
Dan and his mum walked downstairs and looked through the oat of films to rent. They found one that they both wanted to watch and rented it. They watched it, but halfway through Dan fell asleep on his mums shoulder. He stayed there until morning.
