Chapter 33: Moony, Padfoot and Wormtail

Y/N POV

Hermione was crying into my chest as the rest of us watched and comforted us. I understand since both of us were getting closer to the Hippogriff, but I couldn't believe that bastard Lucius convinced them to do it.

And that bastard who calls himself the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, let him do it.

Ron and Harry put their hands on my shoulders as I continued to embrace Hermione in this hug. She still cried into my chest and I wish I could do anything to stop it. Lana, however, was looking in the opposite direction, avoiding the sight of Buckbeak being decapitated.

"How -- could -- they?" Hermione croaked. "How could they?"

"I-I don't know, 'Mione." I said as I rubbed her back.

"Scabbers, keep still." Ron barked to Scabbers/Wormtail. The rat kept moving in his hands as Ron tried to stop it. "What's the matter with you, your stupid rat? Stay still-- Ouch! He bit me!"

"Ron, be quiet!" Hermione hissed. "Fudge'll be out here in a minute --"

"He won't -- stay -- put --"

'He's gonna find me!' Wormtail thought in my head.

"What's the matter with him?" Ron said.

But strangely enough, Snowball, Patch and Crookshanks came out of nowhere and tried to grab the rat. The rat managed to slip out of Ron's hands and he followed it out in the grass.

"Ron!" I said.

"Gotcha!" Ron said as he grabbed the rat. "Get off, you stinking cats!"

"Come back into the cloak!" Harry said as he prepared it.

"Um, guys?" Lana said. "I think we have bigger problems."

And bigger they were.

Because an enormous black dog was staring at us with furious intent. The dog ran towards Ron and grabbed him with his teeth and by the leg, dragging him away as if he was just a doll.

I knew I had to keep it a secret, but Ron was in trouble, so I said, "Screw it!" I got on all fours as I let myself turn into a wolf and grabbed Ron's arm, pulling him back and hopefully not biting him.

Unfortunately this dog was strong and managed to pull Ron away from my grasp into the Willow. And as the dog pulled him, the willow whipped it's branch and hit me in the face.

"Y/N!" Hermione yelled as she got closer to me and I turned back into a human with a bleeding gash across my cheek. She helped me up and put her hand on my cheek. "Harry, Lana -- we've got to go for help --" She was also bleeding from her shoulder, which the Willow had cut into her pink jumper. "Are you okay?" She asked softly.

"I'll be fine, 'Mione." I said. "Your shoulder... Hang on."

I put my hand to her shoulder, muttered some words, and suddenly the blood vanished and the cut had healed itself for now. "Is that better now?"

"Yeah, a bit better." She said. "Still hurts a little, but I'll be fine, Y/N." She smiled a little as she took my hand. She looks so pretty...

"That dog's big enough to eat him!" Lana said.

"We haven't got time!" Harry said.

And then the cats came back staring at us. "How did they -" Lana asked.

"They're friends with the dog." Harry said. "I've seen them with the dog. Come on, and keep your wands out."

"Lumos." We said as we entered the same spot that the dog pulled Ron into.

"Where's Ron?" Lana asked.

"This way." Harry said as he directed us forward.

"Where does this tunnel come out?" I asked.

"I don't know... It's marked on the Marauder's Map but Fred and George said no one's ever gotten into it... It goes off the edge of the map, but it looked like it was heading for Hogsmeade..." Harry said again as the cats led us into a very dusty room. Paper was all over the walls and furniture was smashed everywhere.

"Guys." Hermione said. "I think we're in the Shrieking Shack."

"Well, I never thought we would go inside the place we had a date near." I said as she got closer to me.

As the cats walked into a room, we heard whimpering from that same room as we walked in, which was Ron on a four poster bed. Lana and Harry ran up to him and asked, "Ron, are you okay?" and "Where's the dog?"

"Not a dog." Ron said, scared. "Harry, it's a trap."

"What?" he asked.

"Cause he's right in front of us." I said. "I was right."

Because the dog was none other than the man who accidentally stabbed me.

Sirius Black.

Harry POV

"Expelliarmus!" Black shouted as he pointed his wands at us. Our wands flung out of our hands and landed in his. He looked at them and walked closer.

"I thought you'd come and help your friend." He growled. "Your father would have done the same for me. Brave of you not to run for a teacher. I'm grateful. It will make everything easier..."

My fists filled with hate and rage, just like how I witnessed Y/N with Ron that day. I wanted to kill him. He killed my parents! I was about to move forward but Hermione and Y/N held me back. Ron nearly stood up, but Lana held him.

"If you want to kill Harry," He said. "You'll have to kill us too!"

"Lie down." Black instructed. "You'll damage that leg even more."

"Did you hear me?" Ron yelled. "You'll have to kill all five of us!"

"There will only be one murder tonight." Black grinned madly.

"Why's that?" I asked. "Didn't care last time, didn't you? Didn't mind slaughtering all those Muggles to get at Pettigrew.. What's the matter, went soft in Azkaban?"

"Harry!" Lana said. "Be quiet!" Y/N then looked at Scabbers curiously and eyed the rat suspiciously.

"So that's who you are..." He whispered.

"HE KILLED MY MUM AND DAD!" I shouted. "WHAT'S TO SAY HE DIDN'T KILL YOUR DAD!?!"

I wanted to kill him. I wanted to feel him die.

Serving no belief.

Serving no good.

I wanted him dead.

I wanted revenge.

I broke free of Lana and Y/N's grips and pushed Black to the ground. Hermione was screaming as Y/N held her and Lana was watching as her eyes widened. Eventually, Black's hand came to my throat.

"No." He said. "I've waited too long..."

A fight came out later and multiple kicks and punches were thrown, even one from Hermione, but in the end, I regained my wand and pointed it at Black.

"Going to kill me, Harry?" He whispered.

"You killed my parents." I said, my voice shaky.

Black's eyes sunk as I mentioned them. He even looked sorry about it...

"I don't deny it." He said solemnly. "But if you knew the whole story..."

"The whole story?" I interrupted. "You sold them to Voldemort. That's all I need to know."

"No, he didn't." Y/N said suddenly, but I ignored him.

"You've got to listen to me." Black said. "You'll regret it if you don't... You don't understand."

"I understand a lot better than you think. You never heard her, did you? My mum... trying to stop Voldemort killing me... and you did that. You did it."

Footsteps came from underneath the floor as someone was moving up.

"SIRIUS BLACK!" Ron shouted. "UP HERE, QUICK!"

But the person I didn't expect entered through the doors.

Professor Lupin.

Lupin looked over everything in the room. Black in one corner while the rest were in another, Ron on the bed, and the madness that ensued.

"Expelliarmus." He said as my wand flew into his hand, then looked back at Black. "Where is he, Sirius?"

Who was he talking about?

"But then," Lupin continued without engaging in conversation. "Why hasn't he shown himself before now? Unless... unless he was the one... unless you switched... without telling me?"

"Professor, what's going on?" I asked before the unthinkable happened.

Professor Lupin embraced Black like a brother.

'What the hell?!" I shouted.

(A/N: This scene is going to be shorter and a bit different from source, since Hermione knows about Wormtail and it wouldn't make sense to call Lupin out as a werewolf.)

"Harry." Y/N said calmly. "Sirius didn't kill your parents."
"What the hell are you talking about?" I said. "Why are you defending him?"

"Remus, we have to tell him." Lana said. "It's so that he understands."

"They know about everything?" Black asked Lupin. "Grindelwald, your furry little problem, everything?"

"Yes, they do." Lupin said. "They're just like Langden. Intelligent like always. Go on, Y/N."

"Okay." Y/N began. "It started years ago before we were all born. Remus, Sirius, your father, James, Peter Pettigrew, and our father Langden were all friends. They were all good friends, no secrets between any of them."

"Except one that all of them knew of." Lana said. "Remus was secretly a werewolf."

Ron and I stared at Lupin with a shocked expression. He was a werewolf? How did Dumbledore even hire him!

"We've been told this story for ages by Remus." Y/N said. "Due to that problem, he went to a building where he was away from anyone he could hurt. But the four of them wanted to help him. They called themselves the Marauders."

"Marauders?" I asked. "As in the Marauder's Map?"

"Yeah," Lana said. "They created it, and they also become Animagi. Dad was a wolf like Y/N, Sirius was the dog, Remus was a werewolf."

"And Harry's father was a stag and Peter was a rodent." Lupin added.

"They know we used the Invisibility Cloak since they used it with James." Y/N said. "And he used the map to find us."

"Wait, Hermione, you're not surprised at this?" Ron asked her.

"I already know." She said. "I figured it out when the Moon was his Boggart and when Snape assigned us that essay. Y/N confirmed it when I asked."

Lupin chuckled a little. "You're the cleverest witch of your age I've ever met, Hermione. You and Lana. Y/N might even be the brightest wizard."

"But when Remus told us the story when we were younger, he never used their names, only the ones on the Map." Lana said. "We figured who they were from one name. Moony is Remus, Padfoot is Sirius, Hunter was Dad, and James was Prongs."

"But the night you came and 'attacked', Sirius," Y/N said in. "You called someone 'Wormtail' and blamed them for Dad, Aunt Lily and Uncle James' death. But in order for you to accidentally stab me, he must have gotten really small for that to happen."

"And the only thing in the room that was small enough to move other than cats..." He said. "Was a rat."

"We figured out the names from there." Lana said. "And it's a long shot, but we think that Scabbers is Wormtail."

"And Wormtail..." Y/N said. "Is Peter Pettigrew."

Hermione POV

"You're all mental!" Ron yelled.

"Peter Pettigrew is dead!" Harry yelled. "He killed him 12 years ago!" He pointed at Black.

"I meant to." Black growled. "But little Peter got the better of me... not this time though!"

Black began to charge toward Ron before Lupin held him back. "Sirius, No!" He yelled. "WAIT! You can't do it just like that -- they need to understand -- Y/N and Lana got the point, but not all of it."

He explained his story, Y/N and Lana did get some parts correct but they did leave out some things, such as Snape's involvement.

"Snape was very interested in where I went every month." He said to us. "We were in the same year, you know, and we -- er -- didn't like each other very much. He especially disliked James, but he didn't have a problem with Landgen. In fact, Langden was nice to him until what Snape did to Lily. One day, Sirius thought it would be - er - amusing, to tell Snape all he had to do was prod the knot on the tree trunk with a long stick, and he'd be able to get in after me. Well, of course, Snape tried it - if he'd got as far as this house, he'd have met a fully grown werewolf - but your father, who'd heard what Sirius had done, went after Snape and pulled him back, at great risk to his life... Snape glimpsed me, though, at the end of the tunnel. He was forbidden by Dumbledore to tell anybody, but from that time on he knew what I was..."

"So that's why Snape doesn't like you." Harry said. "Because he thought you were in on the joke."

"That's right." A voice sneered from behind us. Snape walked in as he took off the Invisibility Cloak and pointed his wand at Lupin.

I yelped as he came in while Y/n held my hand tight, staring Snape in the face as he continued to aim it at Lupin. "I found this at the base of the Whomping Willow." He said as he held the cloak and dropped it. "Very useful, Potter, I thank you."

"You're wondering, perhaps, how I knew you were here?" Snape said. "I've just been to your office, Lupin. You forgot to take your potion tonight, so I took a gobletful along. And very lucky I did... lucky for me, I mean. Lying on your desk was a certain map. One glance at it told me all I needed to know. I saw you running along this passageway and out of sight."

"Severus --" Lupin said.

"I've told the headmaster again and again that you're helping your old friend Black into the castle, Lupin, and here's the proof. Not even I dreamed you would have the nerve to use this old place as your hideout -"

"Brilliant, Snape." Sirius sneered. "You've put your keen mind to the task and come to the wrong conclusions. If you'll excuse us, Remus and I have business... to attend to."

Snape pointed his wand towards Sirius as Lupin watched. "Give me a reason, I beg you!"

"Don't be a fool." Lupin said

"He can't help it. It's a habit."

"Be quiet!"

"Be quiet yourself!"

"You two," Snape said. "Quarreling like an old married couple."

"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set!?!" Sirius hissed.

"I could do it, you know." Snape sneered. "But why deny the dementors? They're so longing to see you. Do I detect a flicker of fear?"

"Professor Snape -- it wouldn't hurt to hear what they've got to say," I asked. "W-would it?"

"Miss Granger, you are already facing suspension from this school," Snape spat. "You, Potter, Weasley and the Lovegoods are out-of-bounds, in the company of a convicted murderer and a werewolf. For once in your life, hold your tongue."

"But if -- if there was a mistake --"

"KEEP QUIET, YOU STUPID GIRL!" Snape barked. "DON'T TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!"

Y/N looked at Snape and his eye glowed as he scowled at him.

"What the f*** did you say to her?"

"Don't you dare, Lovegood." Snape said to him. "You're facing suspension too."

"I said... What... the f*** did you f***ing say to her!?!" He yelled as he walked closer to the dark-haired man and pushed him against the wall.

"No wonder Lily didn't like you like that." He hissed. "You clearly don't know how to speak to women nicely." Snape then pushed him off and threw him to the floor.

"That is no way to talk to a professor, Lovegood." Snape growled. "Perhaps you are more like your grandfather than you think."

Lana's eye glowed with rage. "We. are. Nothing. Like. Grindelwald."

"YOU'RE PATHETIC!" Harry yelled. "JUST BECAUSE THEY MADE A FOOL OF YOU AT SCHOOL YOU WON'T EVEN LISTEN -"

"SILENCE! I WILL NOT BE SPOKEN TO LIKE THAT!" Snape shrieked, looking madder than ever. "Like father, like son, Potter! I have just saved your neck; you should be thanking me on bended knee! You would have been well served if he'd killed you! You'd have died like your father, too arrogant to believe you might be mistaken in Black - now get out of the way, or I will make you. GET OUT OF THE WAY, POTTER!"

"Expelliarmus!" Y/N and Lana said to Snape, but not only did he disarm him, he pushed him towards a wall and knocked him out.

"Wow." Sirius said. "But you shouldn't have done that. You should have left him to me."

"I know." Y/N said. "But no-one talks to Hermione like that and gets away with it. Just ask Malfoy."

Sirius' eyes widened. "Lucius?" he asked. "Or his kid?"

"Both." He said. "They're both demented idiots."

"Bloody hell," Sirius remarked. "I didn't know Langden's kids could be so... badass!"

I smiled a little but then I realized something. "We attacked a teacher.... We attacked a teacher..." I said. "Oh, we are going to be in so much trouble --"

"I'm still not saying I believe you." Harry said to both Sirius and Lupin.

"Then it's time we offered out some proof." Lupin said. "You, Ron -- give me Peter, please. Now."

But Ron still held Scabbers close to him. "Come off it," He said. "Are you saying he broke out of Azkaban just to get his hands on Scabbers? I mean." He looked at the four of us. "Okay, say Pettigrew could turn into a rat -- there are millions of rats -- how's he supposed to know which one he is after if he was locked in Azkaban?"

"You know, that's a fair question." Lupin said as he turned to Y/N, Lana and Sirius. "How did you find out where he was?" Black reached into his uniform and pulled out a piece of paper, which was a Daily Prophet article with The Weasleys.

"How did you get this?" Lupin asked, shocked.

"Fudge." He said. "When he came to Azkaban last year, he gave me this. And there was Peter, on the front page on this boy's shoulder. I knew him at once... how many times have I seen him transform? And the caption said the boy would be going back to Hogwarts... to where Harry was..."

"And his paw is missing a toe." Y/N said. "When we came up with the names, I forgot Peter in that moment, cause I thought he was dead, just like James."

"And when we heard Grandma in the Three Broomsticks," Lana mentioned. "Someone said that the only bit left of Peter was his finger."

"Of course," Lupin gasped. "So simple... so brilliant... he cut it off himself?"

"Just before he transformed," said Black. "When I cornered him, he yelled for the whole street to hear that I'd betrayed Lily and James. Then, before I could curse him, he blew apart the street with the wand behind his back, killed everyone within twenty feet of himself - and sped down into the sewer with the other rats..."

"Look, Scabbers probably had a fight with another rat or something!" Ron reasoned. "He's been in my family for ages, right --"

"Twelve years, in fact," Lupin interrupted. "Didn't you ever wonder why he was living so long?"

"We -- we've been taking good care of him!" Ron said.

"Ron, he's been sick ever since the Leaky Cauldron." Y/N said. "Just because you've been taking care of him, doesn't mean that he'd live longer."

"He's been scared of those mad cats!" Ron said again.

"These cats aren't mad." Black said as he stroked my cat's, Snowball's and Patch's fur. "They're the most intelligent of their kind I've ever met. They recognized Peter for what he was right away. And when they met me, they knew I was no dog. It was a while before they trusted me... Finally I managed to communicate to him what I was after, and they've been helping me..."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"He tried to bring Peter to me, but couldn't... so he stole the passwords into Gryffindor Tower for me... As I understand it, he took them from a boy's bedside table..."

"But Peter got wind of what was going on and ran for it." Black said. "These cats - Crookshanks and Snowball, did you call them? - told me Peter had left blood on the sheets... I supposed he bit himself... Well, faking his own death had worked once. This one, Patch, saw him running through the halls down the castle."

"And why did he fake his death?" Harry growled. "Because he knew you were about to kill like you killed my parents!"

Y/N was about to speak but his godfather stopped him. "No, Harry-"

"And now you've come to finish him off!"

"Yes, I have." Black continued to glare at Scabbers.

"Harry," said Lupin. "don't you see? All this time we've thought Sirius betrayed your parents, and Peter tracked him down - but it was the other way around, don't you see? Peter betrayed your mother and father - Sirius tracked Peter down -"

"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" Harry was in a rage. "HE WAS THEIR SECRET-KEEPER! HE SAID SO BEFORE YOU TURNED UP! HE SAID HE KILLED THEM!"

"Harry... I as good as killed them," he croaked. "I persuaded Lily and James to change to Peter at the last moment, persuaded them to use him as Secret-Keeper instead of me... I'm to blame, I know it... The night they died, I'd arranged to check on Peter, make sure he was still safe, but when I arrived at his hiding place, he'd gone. Yet there was no sign of a struggle. It didn't feel right. I was scared. I set out for your parents' house straight away. And when I saw their house, destroyed, and their bodies... I realized what Peter must've done... what I'd done..."

"For god's sake!" Y/N said as he raised his arms. "Enough of what happened, if you don't want to give them the rat, give it to me, Ron."

"What are you going to do with him if I give him to you?" Ron asked Lupin as he gave Y/N Scabbers.

"Force him to show himself." Lupin said. "If he really is a rat, it won't hurt him. Y/N, hold him still."

Y/n held him out in his arm as Sirius and Lupin aimed their wands at the rat.

"Together?" Sirius asked.

"I think so." Lupin responded. "On the count of three..."

"One- two- three!"

Their wands erupted with blue-ish-white light as Scabbers froze in Y/N's hand. He let go, keeping Scabbers mid-air and soon enough, the rat fell and contorted his shape. He turned from a smaller shape to a more human shape and then stood up nervously.

He was short and had thin hair. He also had a bald spot and still regained some things he had as a rat.

"Well, hello, Peter," Lupin said to the man. "Long time, no see."

"S-Sirius... R-Remus..." He squeaked. "My friends... my old friends..."

Black rose his wand to Pettigrew, but Lupin stopped him.

"We've been having a little chat, Peter, about what happened the night Lily and James died. You might have missed the finer points while you were squeaking around down there on the bed -"

"Remus," he said again. "You don't believe him, do you? He tried to kill me, Remus."

"So we've heard." Lupin said in a cold voice that even rivaled Y/N's. "I'd like to clear up one or two little matters with you, Peter, if you'll be so --"

"He's come to try and kill me again!" Pettigrew yelled. "He killed Lily, James, and Langden and now he's going to kill me too... You've got to help me, Remus."

"Hey, Dumbass!" Y/N yelled at him. "The night Sirius confronted you, I was awake the whole damn time. And I've been hearing you think for two years!"

"No one's going to try and kill you until we've sorted a few things out," Lupin said.

"Sorted things out?" Pettigrew said as he looked through every entrance he could think of. "I knew he'd come after me! I knew he'd be back for me! I've been waiting for this for twelve years!"

"You knew Sirius was going to break out of Azkaban?" Lupin asked. "When no-one has done it before?"

"He's got dark powers the rest of us can only dream of!" Pettigrew said. "How else did he get out of there? I suppose He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named taught him a few tricks!"

"Again, dumbass!" Y/N said. "If it was really Sirius that worked for him, then where were you in this!" He pulled out something from his pocket and unfolded it, revealing it to be a picture.

"My mother and father, along with Sirius, Remus, Lily and James are in this picture!" He said. "Where the hell were you!"

"That picture was taken a month before my dad was killed." He said. "Voldemort already knew that my mum was Grindelwald's daughter, but I bet he didn't know where she was. And with your connection, he knew where to go."

Pettigrew filched as he heard the word, "Voldemort". "What, scared to hear your old master's name?" Sirius asked. "I don't blame you, Peter. His lot aren't happy with you, are they?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." Pettigrew muttered.

"You haven't been hiding from me for twelve years," said Black. "You've been hiding from Voldemort's old supporters. I heard things in Azkaban, Peter... They all think you're dead, or you'd have to answer to them... I've heard them screaming all sorts of things in their sleep. Sounds like they think the double-crosser double-crossed them. Voldemort went to the Potters' on your information... and Voldemort met his downfall there. And not all Voldemort's supporters ended up in Azkaban, did they? There are still plenty out here, biding their time, pretending they've seen the error of their ways. If they ever got wind that you were still alive, Peter -"

"Don't know... what you're talking about..." Pettigrew repeated. "You don't believe this -- this madness, Remus."

"I must admit, Peter, I have difficulty in understanding why an innocent man would want to spend twelve years as a rat." Lupin said.

"Innocent, but scared!" Pettigrew said. "If Voldemort' supporters were after me, it was because I put their best men in Azkaban -- the spy, Sirius Black!"

"How dare you," Sirius growled."I, a spy for Voldemort? When did I ever sneak around people who were stronger and more powerful than myself? But you, Peter - I'll never understand why I didn't see you were the spy from the start. You always liked big friends who'd look after you, didn't you? It used to be us... me and Remus... and James... and Langden..."

"Me, a spy?" Pettigrew answered. "You must be out of your mind... never... don't know how you can say such a --"

(A/N: I mentioned that this confrontation does take long so I'm putting something of mine in here.)

"If you claim not to be a spy, Pettigrew," Lana said. "You surely would have no problem showing us your left forearm."

"What..." Pettigrew replied. "W-why must you see that?" He covered his arm.

"Oh, my dear sister is absolutely correct." Y/N said as he walked closer. "If you aren't a spy, you would have no problem."

What was Y/N saying? I'm so confused. But Lupin and Sirius seemed to see where the twins were going.

"Sirius, if you would be so kind as to show your left forearm for us?" He asked politely.

Sirius did as he asked and pushed up his sleeve, showing bare skin from his time at Azkaban.

"If you didn't know, Voldemort's followers had a calling call of sorts." Lana said. "Dumbledore told us that he would make them take a tattoo of sorts called the Dark Mark. It would burn when Voldemort summoned them. I'm surprised they didn't check Sirius for it."

"Since he doesn't have one," Y/N said as he grabbed Pettigrew's arm and held it up. "Someone here does have it."

He took out his wand, aimed it at his clothes and muttered, "Diffindo," making the sleeve fall off his arm, but not cut his whole arm off, revealing a dark tattoo with a skull and a snake slithering out of it.

He looked back at Pettigrew with furious intent and said, "Bloody lair." He pushed Pettigrew to the ground as he crawled over to Sirius.

"Sirius -- It's me!" Pettigrew squealed. "It's Peter... your friend... you wouldn't..."

Black walked away from him and recoiled from his touch. "There's enough filth without you touching them." He said coldly.

"Remus!" Pettigrew said. "You don't believe this... wouldn't Sirius have told you they'd changed then plan?"

"I was skeptical at first," Remus said. "But after seeing the mark on your skin, I don't trust you anymore."

"Shall we kill him together?" Sirius asked with a mad grin.

"Yes, I think so."

"You wouldn't... you won't..." Pettigrew said as he looked to Ron. "Ron... haven't I been a good friend... a good pet? You won't let them kill me, Ron, will you... you're on my side, aren't you?"

Ron looked at him with a confused look. "I let you sleep in my bed!"

"Kind boy... kind master..." He continued as he begged at his feet. "You won't let them do it... I was your rat... I was a good pet."

"If you made a better rat than a human, it's not much to boast about, Peter." Black said.

Pettigrew staggered and walked up to me. "Sweet girl... clever girl... you -- you won't let them... Help me..."

I pushed him away and said, "Stay away from me!"

Pettigrew then made his way to Harry, Lana and Y/N. "Harry... Harry... you look just like your father. Just like him. Y/N and Lana are just like Langden too."

"Do you actually have the brain of a rat?" Lana said coldly. "Y/N just exposed you as a Death Eater."

"HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO THEM!" Black yelled. "HOW DARE YOU FACE THEM! HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT JAMES AND LANGDEN IN FRONT OF THEM!"

"James and Langden wouldn't want me killed... They would have understood... They would have shown me mercy." He said to them.

"You're the reason they're dead." I said.

"You sold them all to Voldemort." Sirius said. "Do you deny it?

"Sirius, Sirius, what could I have done? The Dark Lord... you have no idea... he has weapons you can't imagine... I was scared, Sirius, I was never brave like you and Remus and James. I never meant it to happen... He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named forced me -"

"Don't lie!" Black bellowed. "You were passing information to him for a year before they died! You were his spy!

"He was taking over everywhere! What was there to be gained by refusing him?"

"What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed after Addison's father?! Only innocent lives, Peter!"

"You don't understand! He would have killed me, Sirius!"

"THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" Black bellowed once more. "DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!"

He raised his wand along with Lupin. "You should have realized." Lupin said. "If Voldemort didn't kill you, we would. Goodbye, Peter."

I covered my eyes as Y/N held me in his arms before Harry yelled, "NO! You can't kill him. You can't."

I uncovered myself as we looked at Harry.

"Harry, this piece of vermin is the reason you have no parents and why Y/N and Lana don't have a father." Black said. "This cringing bit of filth would have seen you die too, without turning a hair. You heard him. His own stinking skin meant more to him than James, Lily and Langden."

"I know," he said. "We'll take him up to the castle. We'll hand him over to the Dementors... He can go to Azkaban... but don't kill him."

"Harry!" Pettigrew gasped. "You - thank you - it's more than I deserve - thank you -"

"Get off me," Harry hissed. "I'm not doing this for you. I'm doing it because - I don't reckon my dad or Langden would've wanted them to become killers - just for you."

Pettigrew wheezed as he clutched his chest, while Sirius and Lupin lowered their wands. "You three are the only people who have a right to decide." Sirius said. "But think... think about what he did..."

"He can go to Azkaban." Harry said. "If anyone deserves that place, he does..."

"And he can join all of his Death Eater friends again." Y/N said.

"I wonder how they'd feel if they saw him." Lana said.

"Very well." Professor Lupin said. "Stand aside. I'm going to tie him up. That's all, I swear."

He did as he said and tied Pettigrew up while Y/N and Lana muttered, "Mobilicorpus." to Snape's body, bringing it forward and out of the Shack.

"But if you transform, Peter," Black warned. "We will kill you. You agree, Harry, Y/N, Lana?"

We all nodded as they got Ron up to get to the hospital wing and we all left the Shack. As we exited, the cats led the way and soon, we were all at the surface, gazing at Hogwarts. As we continued to look, I said to Y/N. "You know, that was brilliant. How did you know about that? The Dark Mark?"

He chuckled. "Dumbledore taught us that about Death Eaters in Magical Combat before Newt and Tina came to teach us. I figured Pettigrew would have it, all Death Eaters do."

"Well, still, that was really brilliant." I said as I squeezed his hand. Lana came to us and said, "Hey, you two. Sirius wants to have a word with Y/N, Harry and I. You mind if I steal my brother for a moment?"

I nodded as Y/N squeezed my hand before he got up to join his sister.

Lana POV

"You know what this means?" Black said as we joined him while looking at the castle. "Turning Pettigrew in?"

"You're free." Harry said.

"Yes..." Black said. "But I'm also -- I don't know if anyone ever told you -- I'm your godfather."

"Yeah, I knew that." Harry said.

"You also mentioned you wanted to be an uncle when we were born." Y/N said. "Why was that?

"Well, your grandmother, Vinda Roiser, is related to my family." Sirius said. "So, technically, I'm Addison's cousin and your uncle. Harry's parents appointed me as his guardian. If anything happened to them..."

"You could have legally adopted Harry." I said.

"Yes. But, of course, if Harry can stay with his aunt and uncle." Sirius said. "But think about it. Once my name is cleared, if you wanted a... a different home..."

"What -- live with you?" Harry's voice cracked. "Leave the Dursleys?"

"Of course, I thought you wouldn't want to. I understand, i just thought I'd ---"

"Are you insane!" Harry asked. "Of course I want to leave the Dursleys! Have you got a house? When can I move in?"

Black smiled happily for what looked like the first time in 12 years. "You want to? You mean it?"

"Yeah, I mean it!"

As we were all out, Snape woke up and froze before us. It had appeared that Lupin did the same. Wait, what?!

Oh shit.

"He didn't take his potion!" I shouted. "He's not safe!"

Hermione gasped in fear as Y/N ran over and shielded her away from Lupin, who slowly turned into a werewolf. Harry couldn't run, but Sirius shielded him as well.

"Leave it to me -- Run!" He shouted as he turned into a dog.

As Lupin dropped his wand, Pettigrew reached for it, but he didn't have it for long since Harry disarmed him. But it was too late, Pettigrew turned into a rat and scurried off into Merlin-knows-where.

Another voice cried out as Sirius was in pain as a dog when he shifted to himself. Harry ran off after him and eventually Hermione, Y/N and I did, but I spotted an Eagle knock it's beak on Lupin's head as another wolf barked at the werewolf.

'Mum?' I thought to myself as I ran towards the lake with Hermione, Y/N and Harry to find Sirius moaning in pain as the Dementors came flying in, freezing the water as they floated to us.

"Nooo," Sirius moaned. "No, please!"

Harry, Y/N and I pulled out our wands as we prepared to push the Dementors away, but Hermione stood behind, not knowing what to do. Regardless, she pulled out her wand.

"Hermione!" Y/N said. "Think of something happy!

"What do you mean?" She said. "How do you mean!"

"Anything!" Y/N said. "Your parents, our friends together, even Hogsmeade! Expecto Patronum!"

Sirius still laid on the ground still moaning in pain as we continued to repel the Dementors.

"Expecto Patronum!" Harry shouted. "Guys, help me! Expecto Patronum!"

"Expecto --" Hermione said but the Dementors came closer. "Expecto -- Expecto.."

She was completely scared and eventually she collapsed to the ground. "HERMIONE!" Y/N yelled. Just before she hit the ground, he ran over to her and she fell into his arms. He held her close to him and said. "Don't worry, I'm here, 'Mione. Just stay with me, alright? They're not coming to you..."

But as the Dementors got closer, he collapsed too, and I feel on my knees along with Harry. Terror filled my skin with shock, but I didn't want to be subjected to the Dementor's kiss. But before I collapsed, I felt the air getting warmer and it no longer felt icy as the Dementors fled. But the last thing I saw before collapsing completely...

Was a Stag.

A Wolf.

A Harpy Eagle.

And an Otter.
