74). Imposters Among Us

Harry POV

After Anne and Luna left, the others had gotten ready in our disguise. I would be holding Griphook on my back as the others will be doing the walking and talking. As I was waiting, I found Ron standing nearby with brownish hair, and not a single strand of ginger hair.

"What d'you think?" Ron asked. "Lana transfigured the hair for me."

"Wouldn't know you if I didn't know you," I said as I turned the mirror Sirius gave me a few years back in my hand.

"You want to tell me what that is?" Ron asked.

"Sirius gave it to me," I said. "He had a matching piece. He said if I ever needed him, all I had to do was look into it."

"You mean he could see you?" Ron asked.

"Something like that," I said. "I don't know. He died before I ever got to use it. The thing is..."

"Go on..."

"You'll think I'm mental, but more than once, when I've looked into it -- I think I've seen Dumbledore."

Ron was about to react, but my eyes darted to behind him, where now, Bellatrix Lestrange, (Hermione in that case), Rodolphus Lestrange (Y/N.) and Narcissa Malfoy, (which was really Lana) were walking with Griphook, who was clutching the Sword of Gryffindor in his hand.

"Bloody hell..." Ron said as he saw the four. "That's a sight."

"How do we look?" Hermione said.

"Hideous," Ron and I remarked.

"It feels very weird to be impersonating my uncle," Y/N said in Rodolphus' body. "And also weird that Hermione is impersonating my aunt and apparently wife when in reality, we are engaged."

"At least we can pull off the act if need be," Hermione said. "Oh wait, some of your blond hair is showing, honey." She took her wand and hid some of the blond hair on his head as she planted a peck on his head.

I looked at Griphook, who was studying the sword. "You give that to Hermione and Y/N to hold, all right, Griphook?"

Hermione opened the beaded bag as Y/N took the steath to slide the sword in and dropped it into the bag. We then all joined in a circle and soon enough, we apparated to Diagon Alley, outside Gringotts, ready to walk in. Hermione-Bellatrix and Y/N-Lestrange readied themselves and entered as Ron, Lana and I with Griphook on my shoulders with the Invisibility cloak. As we all entered the bank, a warlock passed us and greeted us.

"Mr. Lestrange, Madam Lestrange," The warlock greeted.

"Good morning," Hermione-Bellatrix said in a voice not equal to Bellatrix.

"Good morning? Good morning!?" Griphook said. "You're Bellatrix Lestrange, not some dewy-eyed schoolgirl!"

"Can you not talk to my fiance that way, Griphook!?" Y/N silently sneered at him before turning to the warlock. "My wife is very busy, we have business of the Dark Lord to attend to."

"She gives us away and we might as well use that sword to slit our own throats," Griphook sneered back. "Understand?!"

"I'd rather use it to kill Death Eaters," He said to him.

"He's right, that was stupid of me," Hermione said before turning to him. "Good save, Love. And I can't wait to be your actual wife."

(A/N: Quick question: what would Bellatrix do if she never became a Death Eater? Would she join the Order? Or do some other thing?)

We walked through the hall where I recalled Hagrid bringing me here for the first time. The goblins were working at their stations and their heads turned to watch is walking. The older goblin at the pedestal scribbled in his book, and didn't look up to see who came in.

"Identification," he said without looking up.

"I hardly think that will be necessary," Hermione-Bellatrix said, which the goblin jumped and looked up.

"Madam Lestrange! Mr. Lestrange! Mrs. Malfoy!" He said to us. "Dear me! How-- how may I help you today?"

"We wish to enter our vault," Y/N commanded.

"I see," The goblin said. "Very well. Excuse me, won't you?"

He slipped off the stool and went to talk to another goblin. One of the guards saw us and meet our gaze. "Next." as he spotted Ron looking at him.

"He is with us." Y/N said coldly. "One of the Dark Lord's new recruits and has yet to prove himself. As difficult as that may be to imagine." The goblin nodded as the other two looked back at us. Griphook's grip tightened on my shoulders and hissed into my ear. "They know!"

"What do you mean?" Ron whispered.

"They know they're imposters!" Griphook hissed again. 'They've been warned!"

We looked back at the goblins, who returned to us. "Mister and Madam Lestrange," The other goblin, who Griphook said was Bogrod, said. "Would you mind presenting your wands?"

"And why should I do that?" Hermione-Bellatrix said.

"I saw no reason as to bring my wand," Y/N-Lestrange said coldly again. "I expected to be let into our vault. We don't like to be kept waiting."

The guards grew suspicious and began to walk to us as I saw a bead of sweat drip from Ron's head. "Harry, what do we do?" Ron said. "Harry..."

"It's the bank policy," Bogrod said. "I'm sure you understand, given the current climate."

"No, I most certainly do not understand --" Hermione said. The guards advanced even more as tensions grew higher and Lana was about to draw her wand, but I had to do the unthinkable. I drew my wand towards Bogord and muttered, "Imperio,".

The goblin blinked and smiled carelessly. "Very well, Mister and Madam Lestrange," He said. "If you will follow me."

"But... Bogrod..." The other goblin said. "There have been special instructions regarding the Lestrange Vault."
"I'm fully aware of that. I'm also aware the Lestranges are one of our oldest and most respected families."

"Yes, sir, but our instructions are very specific --"

"Let me be specific with you, Ricbert. I've run this bank for forty-five years, long before anyone had even heard of a Death Eater. The day may come that they feel they can run this place better than me, but that day has not yet arrived. Am I understood!" Bogrod yelled. Y/N held back a smirk and looked back as I grinned.

"Madam, Sir, if you will," Bogrod said. "I will escort you myself." he turned to the guard. "Teffington, see to that door, will you?"

We fell in line after the fake Lestranges and Malfoy where the goblin lead us to a minecart. After a terrifying scary ride down, we fell into a pond as alarms blared. We all got up, all soaked in water and we helped each other up, but something was wrong.

"Hey..." I said to Ron, Hermione, Y/N and Lana. "You lot look like... you."

They all looked at each other. They looked back to normal, but in their impersonated clothes.

"The Thief's Downfall," Griphook said. "Washes away all enchantments. Can be deadly."

"What can it do to those who were cursed?" Y/N asked. "And we transfigured. How are we back to normal?"

"It would wash both off, regardless if you are mastered in Transfiguration." Griphook said. "But why with the curses?"

"Cause Bogrod's not Imperised anymore," Y/N said as Bogord was shocked where he was.

Y/N POV

"What the devil are you all doing down here!?" Bogrod raged.

He started to back away as he was no longer under the influence of the Imperius Curse.

"We need him!" Griphook yelled.

"Is this your doing, Griphook?" Bogrod said. "You have no rights here anymore. When you gave up your keys, you --"

"I'd really hate to do this," I said as I quickly drew my wand. "But you can't talk about this and you are talking too much. Imperio!"

Suddenly, Bogrod turned blank and blinked. Griphook walked to Bogrod and pushed him on. "Well done," He said to me. We walked to the vault where a loud moan boomed from it, but was more animal...

"No..." Ron said. "It's not possible..." We kept walking to the vault where we found a whitish dragon, kept in chains and confined in the space it had. The chains clinked as it moved. "Bloody hell... That's a Ukrainian Ironbelly." Lana said.

"It looked like it's been down here forever," Hermione said as she took my hand. Griphook took something from a wooden box and tossed it to Hermione, who caught it, She unlocked it and we entered the vault. I walked toward the Dragon, who grunted as it saw me. It had scars on its face and neck. There was still ringing and the dragon seemingly cowarded from it, as if it was scared.

"You've learned how to expect the pain with the noise," I muttered. The dragon huffed and was surprisingly docile. It was no Peruvian Vipertooth, but it seemed hurt too many times. Hermione looked at it and saw the scars. She seemed upset as she saw them. "That's barbaric. I..." She said as she took my hand and I kissed her cheek.

I looked back at the Dragon while the others looked around. "It's gonna be okay," I said calmly. "I'm not gonna hurt you. No-one's gonna hurt you anymore." The dragon huffed again and blew a breath of fire to the door. We all looked at each other and said, "Lumos," To light the room.

A pile of treasure and artifacts that would have made Snuffles very happy was in the room. In the middle, a replica of the word of Gryffindor was laying there, which Hermione had spotted. "No wonder Bellatrix thought it was real," She said to us.

"Is it here, Harry? Y/N? Lana?" Ron asked. "Can you feel or hear anything?"

"No, not really," Lana said. "There is something belonging to Hufflepuff right there! But we need to get there."
"But I think someone would be able to help us here," I said as I opened my pocket that was big enough of Snuffles to fit in and breathe in and the Niffler had popped out and chirped as Hermione smiled. She took him in her hands and held him in front of her face.

"Hey, Snuffles," Hermione cooed to him. "Could you help Mummy and Daddy here? We're looking for something very important. It's that goblet right there."

She pointed to the goblet with the Hufflepuff logo and Snuffles drew his eyes on it.

"Can you do that for Mummy?" Snuffles chirped in confirmation while nuzzling his head in her arms and Hermione pecked him on the head. "Mummy loves you too." She said with a smile and looked at me as I brushed Snuffles' fur. "And so does Daddy." I added as Snuffles chirped happily and buried into the mound of treasure and we saw the goblet drop out from the bottom as Snuffles came back and handed the goblet to Hermione, who took it and Snuffles in her hands.

"Good job!" Hermione cooed again and brushed his fur. "Mummy and Daddy love you very much." Snuffles actually pecked her cheek and ran back into my hands and into my pocket where he watched us. Harry put his hand to his scar as I readied my wand. As Hermione touched the rim of the cup, she yelped in pain and held her hand. I ran to her, found a red welt on her wrist and began to cool the burn with some elemental magic as I held her wrist and she relaxed as she felt the coolness.

"It's hot!" She said to us. Just as she said that, the goblet wobbled and doubled. And two began four.

Four became eight.

Eight became sixteen.

And soon enough, more than sixteen.

"They've added Gemino and Flagrante Curses!" Griphook yelled. "Everything you touch will burn and multiply!" More objects became to multiply and a pile came flooding down. "Well be crushed! Hurry!"

Harry had spotted another cup near the ceiling. The one Snuffles caught must have been a fake.

"That's it!" Harry pointed. "Up there!"

"How're we going to reach it!" Hermione questioned.

"Give me the sword!" He said. "The real one!"

Hermione reached in, grabbed the blade and handed it to Harry as he began to scale the pile. He eventually got to the cup and skimmed the blade through the cup as it yelled. The pile was still uneasy and Harry was about to fall, so I teleported to him and caught him, but the sword fell out of his hand. However, the cup was held tight in his hand.

"In here!" Hermione yelled as we both got back on the ground. Harry jammed the Horcrux in the bag as it shrieked. "I will make you suffer! So says Lord Volde-"

"Shut up, you stupid cup!" I said to it. As we turned to the door, Griphook had grabbed the Sword and shone it in the light.

"We have a deal, Griphook," Harry said. Griphook looked up at us and had a mad grin. "I said I'd get you in," He growled. "I never said anything about getting you out."

"Son of a bitch!" I yelled as Griphook slammed Bogrod's hand on the door, who was still under my supposed control and an avalanche of silver and gold fell after. We ran after the traitorous goblin as he yelled, "Thieves! Help! Thieves!"

"Foul little git..." Ron grumbled. "Least we've got Bogrod."

The dragon drew fire again and burned Bogrod to death as he yelled in pain.

"That's unfortunate..." Ron said.

"Unfortunate?!" Lana said. "He's dead now!"

"We can't just stand here!" Hermione yelled. "Who's got an idea?"

"You're asking us!?" Ron said. "You're the brilliant one!"

"We've got something," Lana said. "But it's mad!"

She looked at me as we both nodded and raised our wands to the cuffs of the dragon. "Relashio!" We both roared as the cuffs snapped free.

"That's your idea!?" Ron said.

"Come on!" Harry said as he fired stunning spells at the goblins. We ran towards the dragon and climbed on, but the dragon didn't move a muscle. "It doesn't realize it's free!" Hermione said. "Leviosa! Aviatus! Excappa!"

I closed my eyes and whispered. "I'm sorry, but I have to do this." And with that, I jabbed my wand onto the dragon's skin as the others did as well. It roared and it's wings spread wide open while his tail thrashed around, hitting the goblins around us. He roared again and flew up, bursting through the dome of Gringotts, threw fire out of his mouth and soared in the sky.

We were flying over the city of London and soon over the countryside. The dragon dropped a little towards a lake as Ron looked down. "I say we jump!"

"When?!" Hermione yelled.

"NOW!" Harry, Lana and I yelled.

And we dropped to the water.

3rd POV

As the members of the Golden Quintet dropped to the lake, Lord Voldemort had arrived at Malfoy Manor, staring in awe of the carnage that the Lovegood twins left. Death Eaters, left and right, were either injured, bloodied and bruised or more of them being dead. Voldemort couldn't believe his eyes. Two children beating his forces to the brink of death? Completely unbelievable. Unthinkable.

The Snatcher known as Scabior laid at his feet, dead by the hands of Y/N Lovegood. He was beaten in the head, but laid in a pool of his own blood. Voldemort knew of Y/N's rage now, he had seen it more times than before.

When he sent the troll that nearly killed him, Lana Lovegood and Hermione Granger.

When Y/N killed the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets.

When the twins cast Protego Diabolica in the graveyard.

He killed Antonin Dolohov, stabbed Fenrir Greyback in the eye and cut off Nathan Roiser's arm. All to protect those he cared about.

But as he had learned that Nathan and Bellatrix had tortured his fiancé, Hermione Granger, Y/N had completely snapped along with his sister and killed nearly all the Death Eaters.

Voldemort had never felt so...nervous in his life.

"Summon... the goblins." He commanded his troops. "They must know of their disobedience." The Death Eaters nodded and disapparated to Gringotts, bringing back the workers there. They all looked at Voldemort, nearly fearfully of looking at him.

"Which of you..." He spoke coldly. "Aided Harry Potter to the Lestrange vault?"

None of the Goblins spoke. Until one with a sword that Voldemort recognized came forward. "I did." Griphook the Goblin said.

"And your name, goblin!" He spat as if it was dirt in his mouth.

"Griphook." He said.

"Very well, Griphook," Voldemort hissed. "I thank you for your services... but your kind shall not be spared."

Before Griphook could react, Voldemort shouted, "Avada Kedavra!" killing the goblin in front of him. And one by one, Voldemort slaughtered all of the Goblins, including Griphook, who still held the sword. As Voldemort bent down to retrieve the sword, it slowly disappeared out of his hand and Voldemort walked it go and with rage, he yelled with the Elder wand clutched within his hand.

"My Dark Lord..." Bellatrix Lestrange said in hopes of talking to him, but Voldemort pushed her to the ground, and looked back at Nagini to speak in Parseltongue.

"The boy has discovered our secret, Nagini. We must find out just how much he knows. We must return to our hiding places and see if the others are safe."

Images flashed as he spoke. The items he used to turn into his Horcruxes. And who he stole them from.

Helga Hufflepuff's goblet.

The faces of Helena and Rowena Ravenclaw. And the Diadem of Ravenclaw.

Voldemort looked at Nagini. "And you, my friend," He spoke. "Must stay close."

And at that moment, Harry Potter bobbled up from the water along with the rest of the Quintet. But only one thing was in his mind.

"He knows."

Lana POV

"You-Know-Who," Harry said out of breath. "He knows we broke into Gringotts. He knows what we took. He knows we're hunting Horcruxes."

I was shocked. "How is it you --"

"I saw him." He said.

"You can't let him in!" Hermione cried. "Harry, you can't --"

"I can't always help it, Hermione!" Harry yelled. "Maybe I can. I don't know."

"Never mind!" Y/N said. "What did you see?"

"He's angry. But he's scared too..."

"Gee, I wonder why."

"He's going to make sure the other Horcruxes are safe." Harry finished.

"What happens when he finds out four are gone?" Ron asked.

"I reckon he'll do anything to stop us from finding the rest. There's more: one of them's at Hogwarts." Harry said.

"What?" We all asked.

"You saw it?" Y/N and I asked.

"I saw the castle," He said. "And Rowena Ravenclaw. I think it must have something to do with her. We have to go there, now."

We climbed the hill as Hermione took out our clothes from her bag. We were getting changed and Hermione and I covered ourselves as we changed.

"Tonight?" Hermione said. "But we have to plan. We have to figure out what --"

"Honestly, Hermione, when have any of our plans actually worked?" Harry said. "We plan, we get there, and all hell breaks loose."

"Harry's right," Y/N agreed with him. "Snape's the headmaster, we can't just walk in."

"We'll go to Honeydukes," Harry said. "To Honeydukes. Take the Secret passage in the cellar." We looked back at the dragon, who flew away. "There's something wrong with him. In the past, I could always follow his thoughts. Now everything feels disconnected."

"Maybe it's because of the Horcruxes," I said. "He's growing weaker every time we destroy one. He's dying piece by piece."

"It's more like he's wounded," Harry said. "If anything, he feels more dangerous."

We had gotten ready and we apparated to the Death Eater-controlled Hogsmeade. It was covered in mist and laughter filled the streets. We were in our clothes, but Y/N and I decided to do something to honor Grindelwald. We had dressed in a similar way to how he had. He died a hero, and we felt the need to honor the sacrifice he made for us.

As the laughter died down, we ran through the streets for Honeydukes, but Death Eaters came out of the Three Broomsticks.

"There!" One of them yelled. "Right there!"

Hermione POV

We ran down the alleyways away from the Death Eaters, hoping the fog wouldn't give us away. But from above, it wasn't helping much as a Death Eater spotted us.

"I've got them!" He yelled. "Down here!!"

Y/N fired a bolt of lightning at him as he flew from the building and into the ground while we ran in an alcove. We were nearly out of breath as I whispered, "They were ready for us."

Beams of light shone on us, facturing the mist as the Death Eaters came around. "We know you're here, Potter," They said. "There's no getting away."

Harry messed around with his mirror and angled it to see the group as they walked a few steps. "Perhaps you need some convincing."

"What does he mean by that?" Ron said. Y/N looked up and gasped slowly as he laid his eyes in the sky.

"I think I know..." He said as he pointed up. A flock of Dementors was flying around above us. Harry had drawn his wand but Lana covered his hand. "No, you'll give us away." But the Dementors descended on us. I felt tears come down my eyes as Y/N saw them and turned me to face him . I buried my head in his chest as he whispered happy things into my ears.

"They're not gonna come near you." He said as he kissed me after each sentence. "You're one of the best people ever. You're amazing, beautiful, caring and brilliant. I love you so much. I'm so happy that I get to be your husband soon and you will be an amazing mother to Anne and our children."

A small smile came on my face. I wanted those to happen. I hugged him harder as I felt more kisses on my face. But Harry had seen enough as he walked forward and bellowed, "Expecto Patronum!" and his stag burst from his wand scattering the Death Eaters away and a door opened near us revealing a man looking at us.

But the strangest thing was...

He looked nearly similar to Albus Dumbledore.

"In here, Potter," The man said as he guided us in the Hog's Head.
