65). I am the Half-Blood Prince/ End of 6th Year

Harry POV

We appeared around a cave near a towering cliff. It was near the ocean as a giant wave crashed near the shore. Lana and Y/N watched the cave and looked back to Dumbledore.

"It's there, isn't it?" I asked him.

Dumbledore nodded as Y/N asked something else. "What is the form of this Horcrux?"

"I believe it is a necklace," Dumbledore said as he stroked his beard. 'But we must pass to obtain it, and most importantly, find a better way to destroy it."

He apparated us into the cave, and suddenly, it looked more and more familiar. As we entered, Y/N and Lana lit their hands on fire as Dumbledore and I lit our wands with Lumos. Dumbledore walked around and watched every bit of the cave with his elderly eyes.

"This is the place," he announced. 'Oh yes, this place has known magic. Where you three stand, Tom Riddle once stood many, many years ago, when he was but a poor orphan boy with a penchant for cruelty..."

"Real son of a bitch," Lana said as Dumbledore traced his fingers on the jagged surface of the rock next to him. "One wintry afternoon, he lured two younger classmates to this cave. What happened is unclear. But this much is known: the children were damaged. Y/N, may I see the dagger you took from Peter Pettigrew?"

Y/N looked confused as he revealed the sheath of the dagger in his coat, took it out and gave it to Dumbledore. He murmured in a strange whisper as Y/N looked at me. "I hope everyone is safe," He said to us. "I just have a bad feeling about this. What if we played into the Death Eater's hands? I don't want to leave Hermione and the others to their mercy..."

"Y/N, we know how much you care about our friends and Hermione," Lana said as she patted his shoulder. "Hermione can protect herself, don't forget about that. And a mean swing too."

He snickered a little. "Yeah, you're right, sis," He said. "I just love her a lot."

Dumbledore's eyes opened as he pulled up the sleeve covering his forearm, drew the dagger to it and cut it, allowing his blood to flow across the rock. "Sir!" I yelled but the blood sizzled like acid and the rock crumbled to bits as Y/N and Lana watched in awe.

"In order to gain passage," He said solemnly. "Payment must be made, payment intended to weaken any intruder."

"You should have let us, Grandfather," Lana said.

"Oh, no," He said. "Your blood is much more precious than mine."

We entered the archway to find a lake puddled with mist around with a small island in the middle with a green glow. In front of us was a boat with a green copper chain. "I do believe we have an alternate route of approaching there, do we?" Dumbledore asked. "Y/N, Lana, you still have your rings, I believe?"

"You're suggesting we teleport there?" Lana asked.

"Precisely," Dumbledore smiled. Y/N went with Dumbledore and teleported the both of them to the island.

"It's good!" We heard Y/N yell. "You both can come!" Lana took my arm and teleported us there where we found the both of them. But I noticed something curious about the water.

"Professor," I said. "There are bodies in this lake."

"Yes," He answered. "Remember... the water." He approached the source of the glowing, a basin filled with a strange liquid. He stretched his fingers towards the liquid, but couldn't touch it.

"Do you think the Horcrux is in there?" I asked.

"Oh yes," Dumbledore said as he took a goblet sitting besides it. "It has to be drunk." He turned to us. "You remember the condition on which I brought you with me?" We nodded as he continued.

"This potion might paralyze me. It might cause me to forget why I'm here. It might create so much pain I beg for relief." He said to us. "You are not to indulge these requests, Harry. It is your job to make sure I keep drinking this potion even if you have to force it down my throat. Understood?"

"Why can't we drink it?" Y/N asked.

"Because I am much older, much cleverer... and much less valuable," He said to us. "Your good health." He brought the goblet with the liquid to his lips, drank it and closed his eyes.

"Professor?" I asked. He didn't answer as he shook his head and continued to drink it.

"Dumbledore?" Y/N asked. 'Can you hear us?" He still said nothing but his eyes twitched and hands trembled. Lana came closer to the old man and got him to stand up. "Don't..." Dumbledore muttered. "Don't make me..."

"You... you can't stop, Professor," I said as Y/N grabbed the goblet to refill it. "You've got to keep drinking. Like you said. Remember."

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Dumbledore bellowed. He stumbled back as clinged onto the basin. "Make it stop... please... make it stop..."

"It will, Grandfather," Y/N said. "But only if you drink it..." He brought it to his lips as Dumbledore continued. "My fault. It's all my fault..."

As Dumbledore continued to drink the potion, he kept talking. "Too much... I can't... take it... I want... to die.... Kill....kill...kill me... KILL ME!"

"What?!" We all yelled.
"Your word!" He yelled back. "YOUR WORD! KILL ME! IT'S THE ONLY WAY!"

"You said that," Y/N said. "But us killing you isn't in the cards. It never was in the bloody deck." Eventually we convinced him and he managed to finish it.

Now a golden locket was at the bottom as Y/N grabbed it.

"Water..." He muttered. "Aguamenti," I said as the water flowed into the goblet. "You did it, sir. Look --" But the goblet was suddenly empty.

"WATER!"

Y/N POV

Dumbledore was still begging for water as Harry tried to refill it. Then he had the idea to grabe water from the lake and that did work. Dumbledore drank from it and regained some of his strength as he stood up. Lana and I sighed with relief but now a slimy hand grabbed onto Harry's wrist, but he managed to break free from it.

But now, there were HUNDREDS of these weird creatures coming from the water and tried to climb onto the island.

We tried to fight them off but they just kept coming. Suddenly, the lake exploded with fire as it curled up into a ring, revealing Dumbledore at the center, waving his wand. "They're Inferi!" I yelled. "Will the Firestorm Charm work that long?"

"I am not sure, Y/N," Dumbledore said. "Perhaps you and your sister may have another way to get rid of them?"

"Oh yes," Lana said with a grin. "Y/N, you think what I'm thinking?"

"Always am," I smirked. We both readied our wands, went to each opposite side and fired the lightning bolt curse into the water, making them all shake and sink back into the water. As they sunk back in, Dumbledore stumbled and looked at us.

"Go...," Dumbledore said. "We have to... go." We exited the cave as Dumbledore was leaning on Harry as he was still a little weak.

"Don't worry, sir," Harry said. "We're nearly there."

"I am not worried, Harry," Dumbledore said. "I am with you three." Dumbledore regained his strength a while later and we apparated back to Hogwarts, at the Astronomy Tower to be precise.

"We need to get you to the hospital, sir," Harry said. "We have to get you to Madam Pomfrey."

"No. Severus..." He said to us. "Severus is who I need... Harry, go and wake him. Tell him what has happened... Y/N, Lana, get to your mother and Miss Granger, they must be worried. Speak to no one else... I...I shall wait here."

We quietly left Dumbledore and removed our wands but before we went, We heard Dumbledore muttering behind us.

"Sir, are you praying?" Harry asked him.

"No, Harry," He said. "I do not pray. I was merely closing a window -- the one that allowed us to apparate.

Just then a set of footprints came walking as Dumbledore's head shot up. "Hide yourselves below," He commanded. "And do not speak or show yourself without my permission. No matter what."

Harry and Lana looked down as I listened for the footsteps. It must be Draco, doing what Voldemort tasked him with.

"Do as I say," He said. "Trust me." We put our wands away and we hid where we couldn't be seen. Draco came in and with his wand in hand and stood in front of Dumbledore.

"Good evening, Draco," He said calmly. "What brings you out on such a fine Spring evening? Or is it Summer?"

"Who else was here?" Draco asked, as he kept the ruse he was loyal to the Death Eaters. "I heard you talking.

"I often talk aloud to myself. I find it extraordinarily useful." Dumbledore lied. "That which sounds sane at a whisper can seem utterly mad when said for all the world to hear. Haven't been whispering to yourself, have you, Draco?"

Draco eyed him. "You are not an assassin, Draco." He reaffirmed him.

"How do you know what I am?" He asked the old man. "I've done things that would shock you."

"Like cursing Katie Bell and hoping she would, in turn, bear a cursed necklace to me? Like replacing a bottle of mead with one laced with poison," Dumbledore continued. "Forgive me, Draco, but these are attempts so feeble I cannot help but question if your heart has been really in them. I'm curious. When Voldemort gave you this task, when he asked you to kill me, was it in a whisper?"

"He trusts me!" Draco yelled. "I was chosen!"

'Don't worry, Y/N and Lana, wherever you are,' I heard him in our heads. 'All to keep the ruse. The others are coming.'

He rolled up his sleeve and revealed the Mark to him. Dumbledore barely laid his eyes on it.

"Then I shall make it easy for you," He said, raising his wand as Draco yelled, "Expelliarmus!" with his own. Dumbledore's wand flew out of his hands and down to the ground.

"Well done, Draco," He said. "But I want you. Killing is not nearly as easy. You're not alone. Are you? There are others. How?"

"The Vanishing Cabinet in the Room of Requirement."

There was one in there? Where was it, I didn't see it when I destroyed the dummy.

"That cabinet has been broken for years."

"I've been mending it."

"Ingenious. Let me guess. It has a sister. A twin."

"In Borgin & Burkes," Draco said. "They form --"

"A passage, yes. Very good," Dumbledore interrupted. "A passage, yes. Very good. I once knew a boy years ago who made all the wrong choices. Let me help you, Draco."

"I don't want your help! Don't you see!" He said. "I have to do it! I have to! I've got to kill you or he'll kill me."

Lana and I looked at Draco while Harry silently scowled at him. He didn't know Draco was really on our side.

"Say that again, Draco," Dumbledore said. "But aloud this time." From the shadows, Bellatrix came out along with Greyback, who now had a eye patch from a cut thanks to yours truly, and other Death Eaters. But one was missing.

"Where's Nathan?" Lana and I both whispered.

"Well now, Look what we have here," Bellatrix said. "Dumbledore. Wandless and alone. Cornered in his own castle. Well done, Draco."

"Good evening, Bellatrix," Dumbledore said humbly. "I think introductions are in order. And what had happened to Fenrir there, with his eye?"

"You can thank my nephew for that," Bellatrix snarled. "Cutting off Nathan's arm, stabbing him in the eye, and killing Dolohov. All him. But I'm afraid we're on a tight schedule." She turned to Malfoy. "Do it."

Draco raised his wand at Dumbledore, but just then Snape came with his wand out. He spotted us, put his fingers to his lips and walked forward with his wand out.

"He doesn't have the stomach," Greyback growled. "Like his father. Let me finish him. In my own way."

You know what else Fenrir doesn't have?

An eye.

"No!" Bellatrix yelled. "The Dark Lord was clear. The boy's to do it. Go on, Draco. Now!"

Draco still trembled with his wand in hand, but then Snape pushed Draco aside. "No." He muttered.

"Severus..." Dumbledore said.

"Well, look who's here?" Bellatrix cackled. "Hogwarts' own Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher. Come to see the slaughter?"

"Severus... please."

"I gave my word," Snape said. "I made a vow..." he raised his wand and spoke the unthinkable.

"Avada Kedavra." A bolt of green light hit Dumbledore from Snape's wand. And he fell to the ground. I couldn't believe it. One of my visions came true. Dumbledore wasn't falling there, he was killed... by SNAPE.

Harry screamed and Lana and I were full of rage and anger. Bellatrix shot a spell as the Dark Mark appeared in the sky.

And they laughed. Everyone but Draco and Snape.

I couldn't take it. I unstealthed my dagger and teleported behind Fenrir, kicking him in the leg. He growled and turned around, but his face shrank into a face of fear as he saw me with his one eye. "YOU MISS ME, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!?!" I yelled in his face. " I TOLD YOU, I WON'T BE MERCIFUL!" I punched him as Snape guided Draco and Bellatrix away. Harry ran after them as I continued to beat the shit out of the werewolf.

"I should've killed you," I said. "Give Dolohov a buddy in hell." Fenrir stood up and growled. He charged at me but I teleported out of the way and back to Lana, who scowled at Fenrir.

"Confringo!" Lana yelled at him as he was blasted into the way. The wall burst apart as he was stuck there. I walked toward him, put my hand on his neck and began to choke him.

"Now tell me, you f***ing bastard," I growled coldly. "Where. The. F***. Is. Nathan?"

"I'm not...telling you...anything," Fenrir smirked, but Lana lit her hand on fire and flung it at his chest, burning him.

"You heard my brother," She said. "Where the hell is our uncle?"

"Fine, fine!" He croaked. "He's fighting those kids. And those Aurors." But he began to chuckle. "But that older Weasley with the fanged earring won't do good anyway. Neither will that other girl... the younger one."

I was confused for a moment, but I began to realize what he meant.

He attacked Bill. And Anne.

I quickly pulled him out and put my forearms on his neck and he struggled to breathe. "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO ANNE AND BILL?!" I yelled in his ears.
"I didn't hurt them that bad!" He cried out.

"LIAR!" I yelled.

"If you say you bit them," Lana said as she punched him. "We'll have more reason to kill you."

"I didn't!" He cried out. "I only hurt them! I scratched the Weasley and the younger Mudblood."

I decided to knock him unconscious, so I pressed harder on his neck until he fell "We have to get to Mum," Lana said.

"We need to know about Bill and Anne," I said. "If Anne got hurt, Hermione must be upset that she didn't protect her. But we need to get to Dumbledore."

We teleported down as Harry continued to chase the Death Eaters. Dumbledore laid there, unmoving as his eyes were still open. He laid there, alone in eternal sleep forever as we looked at his body. We cried for a moment as Lana stood up and closed his eyes. I saw something from the corner of my eye as his wand stuck out to me.

It had beads of varying sizes along it and each bead had small holes in it with some kind of rune writing on it. Since my wand was in my hand, I took the other and put Dumbledore's wand in my holster. We had to get Harry, so we teleported to wherever he was. As we arrived there, We heard a barrage of spells.

"Crucio! Incarcerous!" Harry yelled. "Impedimenta!"

But spell after spell, Snape had defected them all as we walked behind Harry. "Fight! Fight back, you coward!" We were also mad at Snape so we casted more spells in his direction. But he managed to defect all three of our spells.

"Don't ever associate that word with my name again," He sneered. From around the corner, a red light was emitted and a bolt zoomed past us from Bellatrix. "No!" Snape yelled. "He belongs to the Dark Lord!"

"Sectumsempra!" Harry and I yelled at him, but Snape seemed to recognize it on instinct and sent a spell to us, making us fly to the ground.

"You dare use my spells against me?" He beckoned us. Harry looked up at Snape and their eyes meet. "You may have gotten your mother's eyes, but you're just as dim as your father. Yes. It's me."

"I... am the Half-Blood Prince." Snape then cast our wands aside and turned away. But before he left, I heard his thoughts for a mere millisecond.

'I was just following my orders.'

Lana POV

Hagrid had found us and questioned why the Dark Mark was there. We had to break the news to him that Dumbledore is dead. Hagrid sniffled again and took us to the Hospital wing, where Bill and Anne were in hospital beds. Hermione was sitting next to Anne' as she was crying. Anne was bleeding from her head and so were her arms as they were covered with bandages. If it was either Nathan or Fenrir, I swear to god, Y/N and I will kill them both.

Y/N walked to Hermione and Anne as she looked up and hugged him. As they seperated, Y/N sat down next to her, taking Hermione's hand which was also holding Anne's and held both of their hands in his.

"Where's Dumbledore?" Mum asked. We looked at her slowly and shook our heads. She slowly realized her father was dead and began to tear up as well. Eventually, the whole room (consisting of Bill, Fred, George, Ron, Ginny, Luna, Neville, Hermione, Y/N, Fleur, Harry, the other Aurors and Grandma) was mourning Dumbledore.

"Snape," Grandma said as she sat down. "We all wondered...but he trusted...always...Snape...I can't believe it..."

"Snape was a highly accomplished Occlumens," Lupin added. "We always knew that."

"But Dumbledore swore he was on our side!" Dora said. "I always thought Dumbledore must know something about Snape that we didn't..."

"Dad always had a reason for trusting him," Mum said sadly. "But with Snape's history... we should have expected it."

Soon enough, Mr and Mrs. Weasley came around and saw Bill in his bed. "Bill..." Mrs. Wealsey said. "Oh, Bill!"

"You said Greyback attacked him?" Mr. Weasley said. "But he hadn't transformed? So what does that mean? What will happen to Bill?"

"We don't know yet," Mum said as she looked at Lupin.

"There will probably be some contamination, Arthur," Lupin said "It is an odd case, possibly unique...We don't know what his behavior might be like when he awakens..."

"And Dumbledore," Mr. Weasley said. "Addison, is it true... is he really?"

And that's when Mum teared up even more. Y/N and I got up and we hugged her and she had hugged us back.

"Dumbledore gone," Mr. Weasley said. "Of course, it doesn't matter how he looks...," Mrs. Weasley said, paying her attention on Bill. It's not r-really important...but he was a very handsome little b-boy...always very handsome...and he was g-going to be married!"

Fleur eyed her as she spoke loudly. "And what do you mean by zat? What do you mean, 'he was going to be married?'"

Mrs. Weasley looked up at her. "Well -- Only that --"

"You theenk Bill will not wish to marry me anyone?" Fleur demanded. "You theenk, because of these bites, he will not love me?"

"No, that's not what I --" Mrs. Weasley struggled to say but Fleur cut her off again.

"Because 'e will!" Fleur yelled as she moved her hair out of the way. "It would take more zan a werewolf to stop Bill loving me!"

"Well, yes, I'm sure," Mrs. Weasley said. "but I thought perhaps - given how- how he-"

"You thought I would not weesh to marry him? Or per'aps, you hoped?" Fleur continued. "What do I care how he looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk! All these scars show is zat my husband is brave! And I shall do zat!"

After a while, Mrs. Weasley spoke up, accepting that Bill and Fleur would still get married. "Our Great-Auntie Muriel has a very beautiful tiara - goblin-made - which I am sure I could persuade her to lend you for the wedding. She is very fond of Bill, you know, and it would look lovely with your hair."

"Thank you," Fleur said to her as her voice became soft. "I am sure zat will be lovely."

From all the commotion going on, Anne woke up and as Hermione saw her wake up, she hugged her and held her close to him. As she let go, Y/N did the same and checked where she was hurt.

"I'm sorry..." Hermione said as she sobbed. "I'm so, so, so sorry."

"Why are you sorry?" Anne said. "You didn't do this, you protected me as best as you could."

"How did you even get hurt?" Y/N asked.

"That Nathan person was there," Anne said. "The Werewolf attacked Bill, but Nathan hit me with some curse."

"Well, I'm gonna kill Nathan," Y/N and I said at the same time. "But at least you're still alive." Y/N said as Hermione held Anne close to her.

Hermione POV

The following night, Dumbledore's funeral began. His body laid in a while box as we stood around it. Anne was discharged and her wounds were healed so she was able to attend, but Bill stayed in the hospital wing. Harry was the closest to Dumbledore's casket as he kneeled down next to it and cried. If I'm being frankly honest, everyone was crying. Addison must have been crying the most as it was her adoptive father who died as Professor McGonagall was comforting her. Ron was holding Lana in his arms as she cried into his chest. I was standing next to Y/N, who looked at Dumbledore's casket solemnly. I took his hand in mine and kissed him.

After I kissed him, I nudged Ginny, who walked towards Harry and hugged him. Surprisingly, she was the only one Harry would have listened to as he stood up and followed her just by her putting her hand on his back. McGonagall took out her wand in her trembling hand and muttered, "Lumos.", pointing to the sky as the light shone bright. We followed soon after, raising our wands to the sky as tears fell down our cheeks.

Before he did the same with his wand, Y/N walked to Dumbledore's body, he removed something from his wand holster, Dumbledore's own wand, and placed it in the tomb as he recited, "Lumos," with his own wand.

"Goodbye, grandfather," He said softly and I took his hand.

As the speeches of Dumbledore were told, his casket burst into white flames, but it didn't burn his body. The flames turned into white smoke and Dumbledore's casket was now being carried to it's marble tomb. We all began to leave, but Y/N and Lana stayed behind. I kissed Y/N again and hugged Lana as they stayed to think for a while.

~With Y/N~

After Dumbledore's funeral, we stayed behind to look at the scenery of the memorial. It was actually beautiful, very fitting for Dumbledore. I wrapped my arm around my sister's shoulders as we both looked at it.

"Well, well," A voice said from behind us. "The old coward finally kicked the bucket." We turned around to find Nathan grinning at us. We both drew our wands towards him, ready to kill him.

"I should kill you for what you did to Anne," Y/N said. "She deserves none of what you did to her."

"She's a Mudblood regardless," Nathan scoffed. "As well as your girlfriend."

I scowled as Lana spoke, "There's Aurors everywhere. We say anything, they'll come and take your arse back to Azkaban."

"I doubt that," He said. "I'm not going back. Without Dumbledore, we are free to take over. And we can do whatever the hell we want."

"You sick son of a bitch," I said.

"I'll tell you what," He said. "You scare nearly all of the Death Eaters and the Snatchers. But it won't be long anyway. Cause when we do take over, I'm gonna kill everyone you both care about. Every. Single. Person."

"You wouldn't have a f***ing chance," We said at the same time.

"We'll see," He smirked. "But I'd watch my back if I were you." I couldn't stand it so I threw my dagger straight toward Nathan and it landed right in his other arm, making him yell in pain, but he cackled like Bellatrix.

"I'll see you both soon," He smirked and disapparated, leaving the dagger to drop to the ground and I summoned it back to me.

Lana and I looked at each other with one goal in mine.

"We need to make a plan." We said in unison.

~Back with Hermione~

"Do you think he would've done it?" I asked everyone. Y/N and Lana informed us that Nathan visited and had threatened to hunt us down when they get power, so that was a little upsetting. "I mean, I know Draco wanted to change, but would he have done it?" I knew that Draco was working with Y/N, but again Harry and Ron were clueless about it.

"No. He was lowering his wand. In the end, it was Snape." Harry said "It was always Snape. And I did nothing..."

"Strange," I said as I took the locket Harry was looking at. "Thinking this is a piece of Voldemort's soul..."

"Yeah, strange," Lana said. "Only... it's not. It's a fake. Open it."

I did so and found a not inside reading the following:

To the Dark Lord. I know I will be dead long before you read this but I want you to know that it was I who discovered your secret. I have stolen the real Horcrux and intend to destroy it as soon as I can. I face death in the hope that when you meet your match, you will be mortal once more.

-R.A.B.

"R.A.B.?" I asked.
"Dunno," Y/N said. "But whoever they are, they have the real Horcrux. Which means, it was a waste. All of it." Harry looked tense as well and I glanced at Ron and Ginny.

"Ron's okay with it, you know, You and Ginny," I said. "But if I were you, when he's around, I'd keep the snogging to a minimum."

"I'm not coming back, Hermione," Harry said as we all looked at him

"We reckoned," Lana said to him. "Y/N, Hermione, Ron and I."

"I have to finish what Dumbledore started," Harry said. "I'm not sure where that will lead me... but I'll let you four know where I am -- when I can. I have to finish what Dumbledore started. And... I have to do it alone."

"Harry," Y/N said. "You have been brave, fearless, courageous... but now, you're being an idiot."

"You don't expect to find all the damn Horcruxes yourself?" Lana said. "You're our brother, Harry. Y/N and I are gonna be there with you and so will Hermione and Ron. You need us."

She smiled at him and he smiled back. "Yeah, I do," Harry said. "But do me a favor, sis, When I'm around? Keep the snogging to a minimum."

Lana smiled and quickly hugged him. "You called me your sister!" She said as Y/N and I giggled a little. "And besides, like that's gonna happen."

"Do you think..." I said. "We'll ever come back?" I squeezed Y/N's hand as he kissed my cheek.

"I don't know," Harry said.

But we were sure we were gonna finish what Dumbledore started.

And we will destroy the Horcruxes. Once and for all.
