61). Who Is the Half-Blood Prince?

Harry POV

This is the property of the Half-Blood Prince.

For a month, I read the name through my copy of Advanced Potion-Making over and over. Whoever this bloke is, they must be smarter than Snape and Slughorn. Thanks to him, I got this luck potion that I kept with me. Hermione was upset with me a little on how I did it, but she was always happy around Y/N. However, today, Dumbledore asked for me, Y/N and Lana in his office to tell us about Riddle and how we could stop him. We walked towards Dumbledore's office as he stood in front of us with his charred hand in sight and the Pensieve. But curiously two other items were there.

A ring with a black stone in it and... Tom Riddle's Diary, which I destroyed years ago when Y/N was dying.

"Good evening, Harry, Y/N, Lana," He greeted us. "You have received my message, I see. Come, come. Sit."

We all walked forward as I looked at the Pensieve before I sat down. This is going to be interesting. "So, how are you three?" The old man asked.

"Fine, sir," We all said.

"Enjoying your classes?" He asked again. "Professor Slughorn, for one, is most impressed with you all."

Wait, what? I was the only one who brewed it correctly. How did they --

Y/N tapped my shoulder and he and Lana pulled out something from their pockets. They must have read my mind as they pulled out two identical vials of Felix Felicis.

"You weren't the only one, Harry," Lana smirked. "We just accelerated the reaction rate."

I made a "O" with my mouth as I turned to Dumbledore who smiled at us.

"And what of your activities outside of the classroom?" He asked. "Do they bring you satisfaction? Y/N, if I recall correctly, I allowed you and Miss Granger to have a dorm together, if I am not mistaken?"

"Oh, yes," Y/N said with a small smile. "It's nice to wake up and see her every morning. She completes me, even if that is really corny to say."

"Forgive me that... I was merely curious," Dumbledore said.

"No need to apologize, sir," He said respectfully.

"But in any event," Dumbledore said as he rose from his seat. "I'm sure you're wondering why I've summoned you here tonight. The answer lies here." He swung open a cabinet with dozens upon dozens of vials and chose one of out the possible hundreds there.

"What you see before you are memories," He said as he walked back to the Pensieve. "In this case pertaining to one individual: Voldemort. Or as he was known then... Tom Riddle."

He removed the stopper and poured the liquid form of the memories into the Pensieve. "This vial contains a most particular memory -- of the day I first met him. I'd like you to see it. If you would..." We all stood up and surrounded the Pensieve and our faces broke into the surface of the liquid as we were all transported into the memory.

3rd POV

August, 1938.

A younger Albus Dumbledore than the one today approached an sullen orphanage in a velvet suit, much different from the ones he wore as of 1996. He looked up as he saw the name of the orphanage above him. "Wool's Orphanage", It read out to him. He was here to tell what seemed like a promising student for Hogwarts, a 11 year old boy by the name of Tom Marvalo Riddle.

Rearrange the letters of his name... you would get the name of the Dark Lord known to every man, woman and child across the Wizarding World, following Gellert Grindelwald, who was still at large. His daughter, Addison wouldn't be born for another 22 years.

The Dark Lord.

He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

You-Know-Who.

The No-Nosed Bitch, named by Y/N Lovegood.

Lord Voldemort.

Albus hadn't heard of Gellert's prophecy about his grandchildren yet, and neither the prophecy of Tom Riddle and a boy born in July, whether that be Harry Potter or Neville Longbottom. Albus, for years past 1927, was trying to break the blood pact he made with Grindelwald. He walked in and came across a young woman, Mrs. Cole, Tom Riddle's caretaker and took in a conversation with the woman.

"I must confess to a bit of confusion upon receiving your letter, Mr. Dumbledore," Mrs. Cole said. "In all the years Tom's been here, he's never once had a family visitor. Frankly, I was stunned to find that someone knew of his existence."

"I am not family," Albus said. "But his name has been known to me since birth."

"I see..." She said as she frowned. "I think I should tell you. He's a... funny boy -- Tom. Odd. There have been incidents with the other children. Nasty things."

"Perhaps you can give me an example?" Albus asked. The woman moves off, directing Albus to the young Riddle's room. As Mrs. Cole turned the knob, the two of them saw a boy on his bed with hands in his lap, almost making Albus think Riddle was expecting him.

"You've got a visitor, Tom," Mrs. Cole said as Dumbledore stepped forward. "How do you do, Tom?" Albus asked him. Riddle just looked Albus in the eyes with a deathly glare.

"Well, I'll leave you two to yourselves," Mrs. Cole said nervously. As she left, Albus looked around the room. Tom was curiously strange, everything around him was regarding the number seven...

Seven Stones.

Seven Matches.

Seven Brass Keys.

Albus's eyes laid down onto a picture of a boy and girl near a cave. He began to reach out before Riddle finally spoke, "Don't."

Albus turned around and looked at the boy. "As you wish." He then sat back down again as Riddle looked at him.

"You're the doctor, aren't you?" Riddle asked.

"No," Albus said. "I am a Professor."

"I don't believe you," Tom said. "I hear Mrs. Cole talking, her and the rest of the staff. They want me looked at. They think I'm different."

"Perhaps they're right." Albus said as he looked at the young boy.

"I'm not mad," Riddle said to him.

"Hogwarts is not a place for mad people," Albus said. Little did he know that Riddle would have gone mad with blood purity and killing Muggles.

Riddle looked up ever so slightly as Albus mentioned the place.

Hogwarts. Where Albus was a teacher at the time, not the Headmaster. Where people would come to study magic and protect themselves in the Wizarding World. 'What a magnificent world it is,' Albus thought to him. 'He would be lucky to come to it. He might even help people.'

Albus Dumbledore was wrong.

Because of this boy, a girl would die in the bathroom.

Because of this boy, a boy would be raised without the love of his parents.

Because of this boy, a pair of twins would grow up without their father and their mother would be left a widow.

Because of this boy, another boy wouldn't have parents in the right frame of mind.

Because of this god-damned boy, many lives would have been lost.

And Albus Dumbledore let this boy come. He would regret his decision many years later. And he would want the world to live without fearing the word, "Lord Voldemort"

"It's a school," Albus said. "A school of... magic." Riddle didn't say anything else. "You can do things, can't you, Tom? Things the other children can't."

"Yes," was all Riddle said.

"Tell me some of the things you can do, Tom?" Albus asked.

Riddle watched a spider next to him as he spoke. "I can make things move -- without touching them. I can make animals do what I want without training them. I can make bad things happen to people who are mean to me. I can make them hurt... if I want." Riddle looked back at him. "Who are you?"

"I'm like you," Albus replied. "Different."

"Prove it," Riddle commanded.

Dumbledore smiled and without breaking his glance, Riddle's wardrobe burst into flames, making Riddle jump with surprise. The flames stopped for a moment and the wardrobe shook, making Riddle's smile fade.

"I think there is something trying to get out of your wardrobe, Tom. Open it. Open. It." Dumbledore commanded. Riddle stepped off his bed and opened the door, finding a box shaking in place. "Take it out."

Riddle took it and Dumbeldore looked at him. "Is there anything in that box you ought not to have?" He asked the boy. Riddle eyed Dumbledore fearfully, opened the box and spilled it's contents onto his bed.

What came out was a yo-yo, a thimble... and a mouth organ.

"Why did you want these things, Tom?" Dumbledore asked.

"I like having things that belong to other people." Riddle said. "It makes me feel... close to them."

And little did Dumbledore know, Riddle would steal other objects in the future that belonged to other people. And turned them into Horcruxes.

Dumbledore felt it was time to go, but finished up. "Thievery is not tolerated at Hogwarts. At Hogwarts, you will be taught not only how to use magic, but to control it. Understood? I'll be going now, Tom. Leave your window open tonight. An owl will bring you a message. Read it carefully."

Before he exited, Riddle said one last thing that frightened him to his core.

"I can speak to snakes too."

Dumbledore stopped, but didn't turn around. This boy was a Parseltongue.

"They find me," Riddle continued. "Whisper things. Is that normal, for someone like me?"

"It is unusual," Dumbledore said. "But not unheard off." He finally exited and the memory shifted away, bringing the current Dumbledore and the three back to reality.

Back to Harry POV

We reappeared back in Dumbledore's office and Dumbledore gestured to the lamps around, lighting them.

"Did you know, sir?" I asked. "Then?"

"Did I know I had just met the most dangerous Dark Wizard after Y/N and Lana's grandfather?" He said. "No. Had I..." He stopped midway and looked back. "Over time, while here at Hogwarts, Tom Riddle grew close to one particular teacher. Can you guess which teacher that might be?"

"I'm guessing Slughorn," Lana said. "You didn't bring him back just to teach, did you?

"Correct," Dumbledore said. "You see, Professor Slughorn possesses something I desire very dearly. And he will not part with it easily..." He eyed us carefully. "I'd rather not divulge any more just yet. But I promise. In time you will know everything."

The next day, we were at the Quidditch Pitch. We didn't have to wait for the captain cause... I'm the captain now. Angelina gave it to me this year since she left, so I had to assemble a new one. The only ones from the original team were Katie, Y/N, and myself. Ron had joined last year so he needed to try-out again. Our candidate looked good on the other hand, Ginny was trying out for Chaser alongside Y/N and Katie, but so was Cormac, trying for Keeper. Y/N was helping me out with tryouts and Hermione was sitting in the bleachers, waiting for him.

"All right!" I yelled to the try-outs. "Queue up!" No one was listening as they were talking among themselves. Ginny was right next to me and so was Y/N and both decided to do something.

"SHUT IT!" Ginny yelled as Y/N sent a lighting bolt spell in the air to get their attention.

Immediately, everyone fell silent and listened. "Thanks," I said to them. "All right. This morning I'll be putting you all through a few drills to assess your strengths. But know this: Just because you made the team last year does not guarantee you a spot this year. Is that clear?"

"What about Lovegood!" McLaggen yelled. "He made the team, so why doesn't he have to try-out!"

"Cause I've played Harry over the summer, dumbarse," Y/N said to him. "He's seen me, unlike you."

McLaggen huffed and turned to Ron next to him as the other players got ready. "No hard feeling, Weasley, alright?" He asked.

"Hard feelings?" Ron asked him.

"I'll be going out for Keeper as well." He said triumphantly. "Nothing personal."

"Gloating doesn't get you the position, McLaggen," Y/N said as he walked by. "So shut the hell up."

Cormac ignored him as Ron spoke, "Really? Strapping guy like you, you've got a Beater's build, don't you think? Keeper needs to be agile, quick -- "

Aa he spoke, Cormac killed a fly buzzing around to immediate him and to shut him up. "I like my chances. Say... think you could introduce me to your friend Granger? Wouldn't mind getting on a first name basis, know what I mean?"

Y/N looked ready to kill him, but Ron looked at him and put his hand up, trying to calm him down. He's known what it's like to receive rage from him, so he spoke back to McLaggen. "Really, mate?" He asked. "Her boyfriend is literally right behind you. You're not her type, so don't try anything with her.

McLaggen turned around and found Y/N glaring at him coldly with his eye glowing. I think I saw lightning crackle from his hand. Y/N put his finger to Cormac. "You touch my girlfriend..." He said with hate and anger in his voice. "Be within a single centimeter of her, or even make a single move towards her, you'll know what it's like to test me."

McLaggen scoffed. "I don't care, what can you do to me, Grindelwald?" He said. "Maybe I will go for her. Maybe go for your sister too." This time, Ron was angry too and frankly, so was I. "They'll like someone like me, especially Granger. Only a matter of time before she's done with you and goes with me." He went off on the field, happy with himself as Ron and I walked to him. "You alright, mate?" I asked.

"Not at all," He said. "That dickhead... Harry, I'll take Ginny's try-out and then I'll go to the Room of Requirement. Don't follow me there." He walked off and called Ginny with his head down. Ron looked at me and said, "Damn... never seen him like that. McLaggen said that with a smirk on his face. Even Krum wouldn't have done that."

"I mean, you're kinda right," I said, watching my godbrother sullen. "Krum wanted to fight him for vendetta. McLaggen did it purely to hurt him emotionally."

Y/N POV

I watched Ginny take care of the Quaffles on the pitch after McLaggen's threat at me. Ginny had cheered in the air and came down as I watched. "How'd I do?" She asked with a smile.

"Uh? Oh - um, yeah, yeah," I said as I recollected myself. "Good, good."

I rubbed my eyes quickly as Ginny's smile decreased on her face. I could feel Hermione watching me, but I kept fearing something. What if she does break up with me for McLaggen? What if he does something and she doesn't want me anymore? What if McLaggen turns her on me?

"Hey, Y/N!" Ginny said, waving her hand in my face. "What's wrong? You don't look good."

"Nothing," I said quickly. "Nothing."

"Y/N, you can tell me. I'm not gonna judge."

"It's nothing, Gin!" I yelled. "I'll tell Harry how you did, and then I'll go." I walked off with my broomstick in hand and went to Harry. "Ginny's good on the team." I said quickly and walked off as I heard McLaggen laugh. I went back into the changing room, got into my normal clothes and headed for the Room of Requirement. As I entered, everything was ready and prepared for me. It had turned into what we had for the D.A. but importantly was the Death Eater wooden model we used. I looked it in it's hollow eyes as it moved and pointed it's stick at me. I thought of the model as McLaggen, always mocking and joking around, thinking he's all that.

"Stupid McLaggen," I muttered as I pointed my wand at it. Before the model could react, I yelled, "Confringo!" at it, causing a small blast at the model. And before it could react again, I shot spell after spell after spell that the model was defending itself before I yelled, "BOMBARDA MAXIMA!" and caused an explosion, pushing me back to the ground. I looked up and found the model obliterated to pieces. I watched the pieces and said, "I can take on Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort, but that stupid idiot's all it takes to break me on the inside."

And I couldn't help but cry to myself. I rolled up my sleeve to see the scar that Umbridge put on me two years ago. 'Monster'. Always beckoned me, making Umbridge's reminders true in my head and Cormac had manipulated it to come back. "Bet you're laughing at me now, Dolores, huh!?" I yelled. "You... and McLaggen...and Lucius... and Nathan...I hate you... I hate you...I F***ING HATE ALL OF YOU!" I punched the ground as hard as I could and covered my eyes.

"YOU SON OF A BITCH, MCLAGGEN!!" I yelled. "F*** OFF!"

I felt that broken. All the words were rushing back in my head, every single damn thing I heard about my lineage from Grindelwald. It hurt me, finally broke me down from the inside. Who needs Dementors to make you an empty shell?

You can be an empty shell with just words.

I cried for what seemed like hours on end. Bloodied and bruised enough things for me to go to Madam Pomfrey. But then, I felt a pair of arms wrapped around me from behind and someone sat down next to me.

"H-H-Hermione?" I hiccuped as I asked. "What are you doing here? I told Harry to not follow me here."

"Who says I asked Harry?" She asked. "Anne's here too. I saw you leave and Ginny told me you seemed upset. Harry and Ron said that McLaggen said some things to you as well. I used my half of the necklace to find you here. Are you okay?"

"No," I croaked as Anne rubbed my arm. "I'm not okay. Just everything hurts like that. McLaggen saying that just brought everything back and it hurts so much. He said you'll be done with me... and you will go with him." Hermione got up and faced me. She brought herself closer and hugged me tight in her arms as I continued to sob into her shoulder. She kissed me on my lips, face, cheeks and forehead.

"I'm never going with him," She said. "Never in my life. That's a promise. I love you and only you." She rubbed my cheeks. "Should we take you to Madam Pomfrey's?" Anne asked me. "You look terrible, she can help."

"Yeah. Yeah, I'd like that," I said as the two helped me up and took me to the hospital wing, where Madam Pomfrey didn't ask what happened and did her work.

"Mr. Lovegood, you must stay here," Madam Pomfrey said as I heard footsteps coming by. "You must have rest now. Your friends can come and see you." She opened the doors and Harry, Ron, and Lana walked in as I sat in the bed.

"Are you okay?" Lana asked.

"What happened to you!" Ron wondered.

"Is this because of McLaggen?" Harry asked.

"Okay, little bit okay, I destroyed something in the Room of Requirement and had a breakdown and yes, this was because of him," I said weakly.

"Well, if it makes you feel better," Harry said. "McLaggen's not on the team. He didn't make it, he wanted to be captain and Ron punched him."

Hermione was right by my side, holding my hand as I looked at them. "Wait... Ron, you punched him?"

He grinned, "Yeah, mate," He said as he sat down in a chair. "Being a jerk to everyone, I tell ya. He was asking for it." From behind him, I could see Lana smiling at him as I nodded.

"Right, thank you for that, mate," I said. "Oh, where's Ginny? I need to apologize to her --"

"She's in the Common Room," Ron said. "She understands what happened, but you do have to."

"Yeah, I do."

"Alright, that's it!" Madam Pomfrey said to everyone but Hermione. Lana and Anne hugged me carefully and Ron and Harry did the same but as a bro hug of sorts. As the room cleared out, Hermione got onto my bed and kissed me right on the lips as I did the same.

"I love you," She said as she continued to kiss me. "I love you so much and only you. Please don't think about what McLaggen said. Please, for me?"

"I won't think about it," I reassured her. "I love you too." I managed to smile at her and she smiled back at me and kissed me again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After a week, I was out of the hospital wing, feeling better and spirits lifted in time for the Hogsmeade trip, which made Hermione happier for both things as I was feeling better and for Hogsmeade. I managed to apologize to Ginny, who accepted it From what Ron, Harry, and her had told me that McLaggen had tried to ask Hermione or Lana out at different times, but they both rejected him. But whenever Ron would hear McLaggen and Lana in the same sentence, he would look mad.

As we arrived, Harry asked, "Who's up for a Butterbeer?" and we all agreed and went into the Three Broomsticks where Slughorn was drinking some Butterbeer. Ron was gonna take the chair in front but Harry blocked him and said. "No, no. Sit next to me." He said to him. A kid came around to us, wiped the surface of the table and asked, "What'll we have?"

"Five Butterbeers," I said. "A bit of vanilla in hers and a splash of ginger for my sister." I said for Hermione and Lana, as Hermione smiled and kissed my cheek. As he went off to get them, I noticed Draco come in, briefly lock eyes with Harry and I and left instantly.

"Aw, bloody hell," Ron said out of nowhere as we all looked where he was looking to find Ginny and Dean in a booth. Harry looked down in disappointment as Lana rubbed his shoulder. "Honestly, Ronald," Lana said to him. "They're just holding hands..."

We looked back at them to find them... snogging.

"And snogging," She added.

"I'd like to leave," Ron said as our Butterbeers arrived and were handed to us.

"Leave?" She said. "You can't be serious."

"That happens to be my sister," Ron added.

"So?" Lana said. "What if she looked over here and saw you snogging me? Would you expect her to get up and leave? You don't see me doing that when Y/N and Hermione are snogging."

Ron blushed and blinked as Slughorn approached us. "Harry, m'boy!" He bellowed loudly that Ginny jumped and saw Harry watching but rose up to meet Slughorn. "Hello, sir. Wonderful to see you." Hermione, Lana, and I looked at him and mouthed, "Wonderful to see you?" Ron was still speechless at the fact of him kissing Lana.

Slughorn was clearly drunk, so Harry went on. "So what brings you here, sir?" He asked.

"Oh, the Three Broomsticks and I go way back. Longer than I'd care to admit. In fact, I remember when it was simply One Broomstick!" He said in a drunken stupor. I also noticed Katie was leaving the bar with one of her friends.

"Listen, m'boy. In the old days, I used to throw together the occasional supper for my Slug Club so will you four be game?"

Harry shrugged and said, "We'd consider it an honor, sir." Hermione had drank some for her Butterbeer in the awkwardness of the situation since Ron was still speechless, and slammed her mug as we looked at him strangely. She had a small mustache of foam on her lip as I took my thumb and wiped it off for her and left a small kiss on her lips. I felt her lips turn into a smile as she kissed back.

"Brilliant!" Slughorn said. "Look for my owl. Good to see you, Wallenby."

Ron snapped out of it as Slughorn left and looked at us after Hermione and I stopped kissing. "What're you playing at?" He asked.

"Dumbledore asked us to..." Harry reasoned. "Get to know him."

"Get to know him?" Ron asked him.

"Dunno," I said as Hermione wrapped her arms around me. "Must be important. Otherwise, Granddad wouldn't ask."

Ron drank the rest of his Butterbeer and we left the bar. Hermione couldn't stop smiling at me and planting kisses on my cheek. It was so cute of her, I couldn't help but kiss her on the lips. "I love you, babygirl," I whispered in her ear as we stopped by Hogsmeade. We told Anne about Honeydukes, so we were gonna get some sweets for her since she wanted to babysit Snuffles for us.

"I love you too, babe," Hermione said as she kissed me again. "Also, I love all your cute nicknames for me."

"Really?" I smirked. "So, Babe, Love, babygirl, love of my life, my world, everything?"

"You forgot one," She smirked. "The 'Belle' one."

"Oh, I forgot that one," I said. "Really, I did. And I do think you're very beautiful. Even more than beautiful, actually."

"Really?" She asked again. "What do you think about me?"

"Well," I said, taking both of her hands. "I think you're absolutely amazing. You're incredible, intelligent, drop-dead-gorgeous and so, so, so beautiful. You're an amazing girlfriend, an amazing best friend, and an amazing person overall and I love you so damn much. When we graduate from Hogwarts, the first thing I want to do is marry you."

"And I want the same," Hermione said and kissed me.

As we were kissing, a scream broke out as we separated and found Katie Bell rising in the air and falling down to the ground as she seized. Hagrid and Harry went towards her and did whatever as we were dismissed back. Good thing we got some sweets for Anne.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You're sure Katie did not have this in her possession when she entered the Three Broomsticks, Leanne?" Grandma asked Katie's friend.

"It's like I said," She said. "We went to the loo and when she came back she had the package, She said it was important she deliver it."

"Did she say to whom?" Grandma said as she shook her head.

"All right, Leanne. You may go" Grandma said as she turned to us. "Why is it when something happens, it's always you five?" We were all standing in front of her after Hogsmeade. The Opal Necklace that Katie had was now sitting on the desk.

"Believe me, Professor," Ron said. "I've been asking myself the same question for six years." Harry went straight to accusing Draco, but Snape was questioning him as to how he knew. Something's up with him. The night came around and it was time for bed. Hermione and I got into bed and cuddled as Hermione watched Snuffles with my hoodie on. We did manage to give Anne those sweets as thanks for caring for him today. But I could hear Ron and Harry's thoughts.

And they were so weird. They were thinking what they were saying.

'What do you suppose Dean sees in her? Ginny?' Ron was saying.

'What does she see in him?' Harry said.

'Dean? He's brilliant."

"You called him a slick git not five hours ago."

'Yeah, well, he was running his hands all over my sister, wasn't he? Something snaps. You've got to hate him. You know, on principle.'

'I suppose.'

'So what is it? He sees in her?'

'I don't know. She's smart. Funny. Attractive.'

'Attractive?'

'You know. She's... got nice skin.'

"Why is my godbrother an idiot?" I asked.

"What do you mean?" Hermione asked me as Snuffles was sleeping in her arms comfortably.

"Harry's telling Ron that Ginny's attractive," I said. "Cause she's got nice skin."

Hermione cringed as she heard that. "What else are they saying?"

'Skin? You're saying Dean's dating my sister because of her skin?'

'Well, no. I mean... I'm just saying it could be a contributing factor.'

'Lana's got nice skin. Wouldn't you say? As skin goes, I mean.'

'I've never really thought about it. But I suppose, yeah. Very nice.'

"They're both being idiots," I said. "Ron's talking about Lana's skin now."

"Was it ever not said they were like this?" Hermione said with a smile and quickly kissed me. "I think I'll go to bed. Good night, Y/N. I love you." She laid down on the bed and I did as well. I felt her leg on mine as I took it and held on to her leg and wrapped my arm around her body.

"I love you too, Belle," I said and kissed her collarbone as she softly moaned, giggled and kissed me again.

Hermione POV

The next night, Harry, Lana, Y/N and I went to Slughorn's dinner party. This time, the same people he invited from the train, plus the Patil twins.

"To Hogwarts' best and brightest!" Slughorn cheered for us.

"Here, here!" McLaggen said.

He's neither best or brightest. I can't believe him either. He's vile and stupid.

Y/N, Lana and I noticed that Harry was looking at a chair meant for Ginny. To my right, Neville was asking, "Which one do I use for the soup?" There were many forks, knives and spoons. I helped him out as Cormac made eye-contact and winked. I didn't change a single expression on my face, causing him to realize what he did and look away. Besides, Y/N's eye was glowing at him too.

"So, So tell me, Cormac," Slughorn said. "See much of your Uncle Tiberius these days?"

"Yes, sir," he said looking away from us. Finally he would be able to take a bloody hint. "In fact, I'm meant to go hunting with him and the Minister for Magic over holiday."

"Well, be sure to give them both my best. What about your uncle, Belby? Working on anything new?" Slughorn asked him as he looked at the rest of us. "For those of you who don't know, Marcus' uncle invented the Wolfsbane Potion."

Y/N's ears perked up. "Really? I ought to thank you and your uncle, Marcus." He said politely. "My godfather's able to rest out his transformations." It was now common knowledge that Remus was a werewolf.

"Thanks, mate," Marcus said. "Dunno though, sir. He and me dad don't get on. Probably because Dad thinks potions are rubbish. Says the only potion worth having is a stiff one at the end of the --"

Slughorn interrupted and put his attention on me. "And you, Miss Granger?" He asked. " What is it your family does in the Muggle world?"

"Oh, my parents are dentists," I said. "They tend to people's teeth."

"Fascinating!" He chuckled with glee. "And is that considered a dangerous profession?"

"No," I said as Y/N put his hand on my knee and left it there for me to squeeze, which I did and redirected it to my thigh. "Though a boy named Robbie Fenwick did bite my father once. Needed ten stitches."

Slughorn nodded and the door opened as Ginny walked in a dress, but she didn't look that great.

"Miss Weasley!" Slughorn said as he grabbed her attention. "Come in, come in."

"Sorry, I'm not ordinarily late," She said, but her eyes were red. "Dean and her?" Y/N and Lana asked me as I nodded.

"They've been fighting again," I said.

"No matter," Slughorn said. "You'll be just in time for dessert. That is -- if Belby leaves you any." As she walked up, Harry decided to stand up and look at her as they locked eyes. Lana smiled at Harry and so did Y/N and I as he sat down.

"What?" Harry asked us.

"Nothing," Lana and I said.

"Just that you can be an idiot sometimes," Y/N said as I playfully hit him. "What was that for?" He whispered with a grin.

"Cause you can be an idiot too," I said as I kissed his cheek. "You're my idiot."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Couple of weeks later in November, the first Quidditch match was going to happen and Ron was super nervous for the game. Y/N and Harry however were okay with it and ready. I had already wished Y/N good luck with a kiss when we woke up. I also promised that we would have a good snogging session when they win. Anne was sitting with us as she would join us down at the pitch.

Ron was wished luck by Neville and Seamus.

Well, Seamus mentioned a bet about him to win.

While others like Slytherins and McLaggen scoffed and huff as they saw him. Ron looked stressed as he poked his food with a fork.

"Oh, something's wrong," Y/N said. "He ain't eating breakfast. And he loves breakfast."

"So, how was it?" Ron asked us.

"How was what?" Lana said to him.

"Your dinner party," He said to all of us with mockery in his voice.

"Dead boring," Y/N and I said at the same time.

"We're sure Harry enjoyed dessert," Y/N said. "Also... nice skin? Contributing factor? Really, Harry?"

Harry looked shocked as he saw the look on Y/N's face as Lana spoke, "Ol' Sluggy's having a Christmas party before break, you know. And we're meant to bring someone..."

"I expect you'll be going with Sam Johnson?" Ron asked him. "He's your Prefect buddy, right? Bet not McLaggen, though he's a member."

"I already know who I'm going with," I whispered to Y/N as I kissed his cheek.

"Actually, I was going to ask you." Lana said to his surprise.

"Really?" Ron asked.

"Really," Lana said. "But seeing as you have such a distaste for the idea -- "

Before she could finish, a voice cheerfully interrupted her. "Good luck today, Ron!" Lavender Brown said with glee. " I know you'll be brilliant!" Ron smiled weakly as Lana and Y/N stared daggers at her. I guess Y/N does want for his sister to be happy, and that Lavender didn't screw it up.

"I'm resigning," Ron said. "After today's match. McLaggen can have my spot." Y/N's eyes perked up and glared at him. "Oh hell no, Ron Weasley, don't leave Harry and I with that stupid moron and the king idiot."

Harry was acting differently than him at the moment and did something that made us look at him as if he was crazy. "Have it your way. Juice?" He asked him as he passed him a glass. As Ron took it, Luna came to the table with a giant lion head on her head and looked at us. "Hello, everyone," She said calmly before looking at Ron. "You look dreadful, Ron." He nodded slowly and lifted his glass.

"Is that why you put something in his cup?" She asked curiously. "Is it a tonic?"

Lana and I looked at Harry as the vial in his hand gleamed gold. He must have used Felix Felicis on him. I know that Lana and Y/N got one too after Slughorn looked at theirs.

"Don't drink that, Ron!" Lana warned him, but she was too late. Ron drank the whole thing already. "Harry, you could be expelled for that!" Lana said to her godbrother.

"Dunno what you're talking about," He said as he put the vial in his pocket and winked at Luna. Ron rose to his feet and said. "C'mon, Harry, Y/N. We've got a game to win." Before they left, Y/N took my hand and kissed me quickly.

"Be safe out there for me," I said.

"Alway will be," He said as I kissed him again.

The match began shortly as Lana was still upset at Harry for using it, but was trying to enjoy the game with me, Luna and Anne. Y/N, Ginny and Dean (who was replacing Katie) had scored loads of Quaffles in the lead against Slytherin. As they were doing that, Ron was moving rapidly and blocking all the Quaffles from the other sides. While Ron was blocking the Slytherin Quaffles, Y/N and Ginny were working on combo moves since they were both playing as Chasers with Dean, who they filled in with the details.

As the game was midway, Harry had spotted the Snitch and made his way for it. Eventually, he caught it as the Gryffindors roared, along with Luna's lion hat. Lavender was cheering Ron, while Lana was doing the same, but really glaring at her. I was watching Y/N in the sky and smiling happily.

Back in the Common Room, everyone was celebrating Ron being the MVP of the match as they were cheering, "Weasley! Weasley Weasley!" Harry and Y/N were getting backslaps of congrats as I kissed Y/N again in front of everyone. We were all enjoying Butterbeer, Luna and Lana were having some with us and were allowed in. All of the students were having Butterbeer, including Anne, since despite its name, Butterbeer was safe for people who weren't allowed at Hogsmeade.

"Ron seems to be enjoying himself," Lana said to Harry and Y/N.

"Yep, apparently it's his lucky day," Harry grinned.

"Harry," Y/N said. "As much as Ron had more confidence, you shouldn't have done it."

But Harry grinned and revealed the vial, unbroken and full to our amazement. "You didn't put it in?" Lana said with a smile as Harry shook his head. "Ron only thought you did? I knew you had a brain in there somewhere!" She said with a punch on his shoulder as he laughed, but that's where it all went wrong.

Everyone whistled the same way when Y/N and I were kissing towards the middle of the room and smack dab in that middle...

Ron and Lavender Brown were snogging in front of everyone.

Lana POV

Harry and Y/N were blinking fast and Hermione was shocked. Me? I left the room without anyone looking back. I was crying my eyes out. Did Ron like Lavender more than me? I knew how he felt, I just wanted to see if he'd actually do something. I sat outside the room, crying my eyes out, hurt at what just happened. I cast a charm as birds flew over my head turning multiple different colors.

"Lana?" Y/N asked behind me as I turned to see him, Hermione, Harry and Anne.

"Charms spell," I said as I wiped my tears as he, Harry and Hermione sat down next to me. "Just practicing."

"Well. they're really good," Harry said to try to bring my hopes up.

"How does it feel, Harry?" I asked. "When you see Dean with Ginny?" He looked at me. "Harry, I'm like your older sister, I know. You are one of my best friends. We all see how you look at her."

Just then, Ron and that daft dimbo came out of the room, giggling with each other hand-in-hand, thinking they were alone but they saw us. Lavender was still smiling and said, "Oops, I think this room's taken." She tried to pull Ron out of the room, but he asked, "What's with the birds?"

Y/N glared at Lavender as we stood up and said "Oppugno.", causing the birds to fly towards Ron and Lavender. They made it out the door as the birds exploded softly and I fell back on the seat I was sitting. Y/N looked sorry for me and wrapped his arm around me as my head fell on his shoulder. Harry was rubbing my back and so was Hermione and Anne. Y/N kissed my head as Harry said.

"It feels like this."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A couple days later and we were in December, Ron and Lavender were snogging every minute of every day and it was annoying. It wasn't like Y/N and Hermione, it was fine when they did kiss, causing Y/N's my twin brother and Hermione's my best friend. On the other hand, I actually fancied Ron, but he seemed to forget that Lavender wanted my brother.

And it hurt seeing him with her.

We were in the library since I wanted to distance myself from Ronald Bilius Weasley. Harry and Y/N talked to Ron and he said he was something like, "a free agent."

"He's at perfect liberty to kiss whomever he likes," I said as I pushed the books back into the shelves as Harry, Y/N and Hermione coming behind me. "I really couldn't care less. Was I under the impression that he and I would be attending Slughorn's Christmas party together? Yes. Of course, now, given the circumstances, I've had to make other arrangements."

"Have you?" Harry and Y/N asked.

"Yes," I said as I looked at them. "Why?"

"Well, since Hermione and I are going together," Y/N said. "So maybe you both could have gone together. As friends or something?"

I stopped looked up. "Why didn't I think of that?"

"So who are you taking?" Hermione asked.

"Um... it's a surprise," I said. I was taking Sam, but I'm thinking Cormac would try something there but I trust Sam, he'll help me with Cormac. He's a Ravenclaw too, smarter than that dickhead. "Besides it's you, Harry, we need to worry about. And you can't pick just anyone."

Hermione and Y/N motioned Harry to a girl behind him as she looked up and smiled. "See that girl over there. That's Romilda Vane. Rumor has it she's trying to slip you a love potion." Y/N said.

"Really?" Harry said as he looked back at her and back to us in a gaze as Hermione snapped her fingers at him.

"Hey!" She said, grabbing his attention. "She's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One. You know that, right?"

"But I am the Chosen One," Harry said as I hit him in the head with the parchment in my hand. "Okay, okay. Kidding!" he said. "I'll ask someone I like. Someone cool... like Luna."

Y/N and I smiled. "Good!" Y/N said. "But may I see that, Lana?" He asked for the parchment as I gave it to him. He took it and hit him again. "Fix the 'good skin' comment if you want Ginny to like you, mate." Hermione also took it as hit him on the head as we all laughed quietly and Harry asked with a smile. "What was that for?"

"No reason," Hermione giggled. "I just wanted to do that." Harry laughed again and left the library as Y/N and Hermione turned to me. "Hey, sis?" Y/N said seriously. "You gonna be okay about the ginger idiot?"

I brushed my hair behind my head and said. "I think I will be," I said. "Hopefully I'll get over it."

"If you need anything, and I mean anything at all," Y/N said as he put his hands on my shoulders. "I'm here for you. We both are, sis." He looked at Hermione who smiled and nodded. I smiled at both of them, hugged my brother and put my head under his as Hermione rubbed my back.

"Thank you, Y/N," I said. "Thank you, Hermione."

"No problem. You are my sister, and I care about you," Y/N said. "I love you, sis."

"Love you too, bro."
