60). The Slug Club

Y/N POV

A couple days later, September 1st arrived and I awoke in my bed next to Hermione, who was laying on my chest, sleeping peacefully while Snuffles was curled up in our arms. We were still in the Burrow, but it was less crowded now. Before we came here, it was just Ron, Ginny, Fleur, Bill and Mrs. Weasley at the house. Mr. Weasley was working at the Ministry, Charlie was working with the dragons, Percy was still being an arrogant prick, and the twins were working at Weasley Wizard Wheezes.

We had grabbed our things for school from Diagon Alley, even though most of the shops were looted and their shopkeepers went missing. My mind was still on why Draco was with a known Death Eater. I still couldn't believe Lana, Mum and I were somehow related to the Malfoys, it meant Draco was our cousin, I cursed and scared the shit out of my uncle and Dora is our second cousin.

I tried to get my mind off it and looked at Hermione, who was still sleeping. I wrapped my arms around her and Snuffles and brushed her hair out of the way of her face. Jeez, how can she be so freaking cute anytime? She stirred slowly, opened her eyes and smiled at me. "Hey," She said softly.

"Hey, beautiful," I said with a kiss and she pulled herself closer to me.

"I like this," She said. "Waking up to see you every morning. I love it. I want to do this forever."

"I love it too," I said. "Waking up, seeing you asleep on my chest and bringing you closer to me. It makes me happy to see you, smiling in your sleep. Oh. Grandma did say you're officially allowed now to move in my dorm if you want."

Hermione's eyes widened as we got up and she smiled at me. "That's fantastic! I'll definitely move in." She kissed me again as I put my hands at her sides and she giggled quickly.

"Y/N, don't do that!" She giggled again.
"Why, you ticklish?" I smiled and kissed her neck.

"Kind of," Hermione said in between giggles. I did tickle her again, and she laughed.

"You have an adorable laugh, you know?" I said. "It's so cute."

"Okay, okay!" Hermione said. "You can stop, please!" I did, but she smirked and rolled on top of me and kissed me. I pushed her hair back behind her ear as we continued to kiss and she slid her tongue in. It did take me by surprise, but I went with it.

"I love you," Hermione said out of breath as she pressed her forehead on mine. We were catching our breath and as we did, I quickly kissed her shoulder and hugged her close to me as she kissed my neck.

"I love you too, 'Mione," I said to her with another kiss. "Come on, we should get ready for Hogwarts."

"Really? This early?" She asked as she laid on top of me with her arms around me. "Y/N, it's 6:45, let's sleep a little bit more, please?" She said with puppy-dog eyes.

"Is it?" I asked as I looked at my watch. "Oh, you're right. And how could I say no to you, cutie?" I looked into her eyes, rubbed my thumb across her cheek and pecked her lips. She giggled again and pulled me to kiss her a little bit longer before we fell asleep again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hours later, the five of us, plus Ginny, Neville and Luna entered the Hogwarts Express. Ginny, Neville and Luna went ahead as we were talking about what happened at Knockturn Alley. Fleur and Mrs. Weasley had accompanied us and Fleur kissed our heads and said good-bye. Ron still had a small thing for her, but will he try to ask out Lana? Along with that, we got our O.W.L results. Hermione had passed all of hers, and so did Lana and I, and Ron and Harry got by through Herbology.

"Don't you see?" Harry asked us. "It was a ceremony. An Initiation."

"Stop, Harry," Hermione said. "I know where you're going with this --"

"It's happened," Harry said, ignoring her. "He's one of them."

"One of what?" Ron asked.

"Harry is under the impression that Draco Malfoy is a Death Eater," Lana said.

"It's not an initiation," I said. "We told you in third year, Death Eaters are made when they take the Mark on their skin. Draco needs to have the mark to be known as a Death Eater."

"And what would You-Know-Who want with a sod like Malfoy?" Ron asked.

"So what's Malfoy doing in that shop?" He asked. "Browsing for furniture?"

"It's a creepy shop," Ron said. "He's a creepy bloke."

"Look, his father's a Death Eater," Harry reasoned. "It only makes sense."

"Alright, anyways," I said. "We have to do our prefect duties, so we'll see you in a bit, lads."

Hermione and I went to put on our robes and as we were changed, Hermione helped me with my tie again and placed a kiss on my cheek as we went on. Lana joined up with Sam and they patrolled the other side. As the both of us walked around, we saw Malfoy, who was a Slytherin prefect sitting with Blaise and Pansy, who was also a prefect, but they weren't doing their duties.

"That's strange," Hermione said as we passed them. "They didn't say anything."

"Maybe Malfoy's learned his lesson after 6 years," I suggested. "Keeping his mouth shut." She giggled again as we returned to the compartment 20 minutes later after we patrolled and had a quick snog. Anne had found the compartment and was talking to Harry happily.

"So, updates..." I said as we sat down. "Malfoy isn't doing crap, and he isn't being a prick... I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad one."

"Maybe he preferred the Inquisitorial Squad," Hermione added. "Good thing Addison took that down when she was Headmistress."

"Excuse me?" A third year girl said as she came around to our compartment. "I'm supposed to deliver these to Neville Longbottom, Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Y/N and Lana Lovegood." She was rather nervous as she gave the parchment with a violet ribbon to us. Must be the article about Harry. She quickly left as we looked at them.

"What is it?" Ron aked as we untied the violet ribbon around our parchment.

Y/N,

I would be delighted if you would join me for a bite of Lunch in compartment C.

Sincerely,

Professor H. E. F. Slughorn.

"It's from Slughorn," Lana said.

"But what does he want me for?" Neville asked as we left the compartment.

"No idea," Harry said. "Let's go under the Invisibility Cloak, then we might get a good look at Malfoy on the way, see what he's up to."

We did what he said and took the Cloak, walking through the compartment. We passed Cho and Marietta, who was using some make-up to hide the jinx Hermione used when she betrayed the D.A. I couldn't help but kiss Hermione's cheek as we saw them. Lana was still friends, but still on strict terms with Marietta. Eventually we arrived and Harry pulled it off of us. Slughorn spotted us and brought us in. "I was expecting you five!" He said. "Good to see you all. And you must be Mr. Longbottom!" He said to Neville, who nodded.

"Now do you know everyone?" He asked. "Blaise Zabini is in your year, of course." Even though Zabini was a Slytherin and friends with Malfoy, he was actually one of the ones who wasn't like him. He stood up with Daphne when we were exposed. He nodded his head at us as he sat down.

(A/N: Thought I'd change something about him. He seems cool in other books.)

"This is Cormac McLaggen," Slughorn said as my eyes widened and he smirked. He was here?! In the same thing as Hermione and I? His smile was just as sickening as Umbridge's. My eye glowed at him as the smile was still evident on his face. "Perhaps you've come across each other, No?"

'Lovegood's a loser,' I heard him in his head. 'But that Granger girl will be mine, I'll make her mine. I don't care, she's pretty for a bookworm. Real pretty."

My blood boiled. McLaggen didn't know I was a Legilimens and he didn't know Lana was either, there was a certain advantage. He was too dumb to realize it, he thinks he's cool and handsome, but I don't give two shits about him.

"Oh, yes," I said coldly. "I've seen him around. Would you like to share with the class what you're thinking, McLaggen?"

McLaggen's smirk faded as he realized what I meant. 'Don't mess with me,' I said in his head. 'And you're not getting to her, dickhead. So piss off.' Hermione smiled at me and made sure she wasn't making eye contact with McLaggen (who was regretting everything) as she squeezed my hand and kissed me quickly.

"Interesting," Slughorn said as Blaise smirked and chuckled at McLaggen. "And this is Marcus Belby, I don't know whether --" Belby waved to us as Lana smiled and waved back. She must know him, might be a Ravenclaw. "And this charming young lady tells me she knows all of you!" He said, directing to Ginny.

We all sat down as I kept an eye on McLaggen, who ignored my warning and kept looking at Hermione, whose hand was in mine and kept her attention on me. Slughorn was talking about ours and our family's achievements, but McLaggen was talking about stuff that he thought would impress Hermione, but I didn't have to read her mind to know she wasn't impressed. Everytime he talked, she squeezed my hand and rubbed her thumb across my hand.

Ginny had gotten in by hexing, "That idiot from Hufflepuff who was in the D.A." Zacharias Smith with the Bat-Bogey Hex, which Slughorn witnessed and brought her in. Harry made a remark about Blaise, who he didn't really like, and Blaise left. Harry had decided to follow him and see what he was doing.

Harry POV

Y/N said Blaise was a decent person, so I decided to follow him to the compartments, where Malfoy was laying in Pansy's lap and his two gorillas were on the other side. I hid under the cloak so they wouldn't see me.

"So, Zabini," Malfoy asked. "What did Slughorn want?"

"Just trying to make up to well-connected people," Zabini said. "He did find some, but one was a pure idiot."

"Who?" Malfoy demanded.

"McLaggen," He smirked. "Kept making eyes at Lovegood's girlfriend, Granger."

"His uncle's big in the ministry," Malfoy said. "Wait, my cousins were there?"

"Y/N and Lana are your cousins?" Pansy asked.

"Yeah, they are," He said. "Who else?"

"Belby from Ravenclaw," He said. "Not bad..."

"No!" Parkinson said. "He's a prat!"

"Longbottom, Potter and the Weasley girl were there too," Zabini said.

"What's so special about the Weaselette?" Malfoy said.

She was the second girl to punch you in the face, that's what.

"Lots of boys like her," Pansy said. "Even you think she's good-looking, don't you, Blaise, and we all know how hard you are to please!"

Zabini shrugged. "She's pretty, but again, boys are after her. So I don't mind it."

Huh. Maybe he isn't bad, is he?

"Well, I pity Slughorn's taste. Maybe he's going a bit senile. Shame, my father always said he was a good wizard in his day. My father used to be a bit of a favorite of his. Slughorn probably hasn't heard I'm on the train, or -" Malfoy began, but Zabini interrupted.

"Probably cause he's not interested in Death Eaters, Draco," He said.

"Well, who cares what he's interested in? What is he, when you come down to it? Just some stupid teacher. I mean, I might not even be at Hogwarts next year, what's it matter to me if some fat old has-been likes me or not?"

"What do you mean, you might not be at Hogwarts next year?" Pansy said.

"Well, you never know. I might have - er - moved on to bigger and better things."

"You mean them?" Zabini said, disgusted. "Didn't think you would do that, Malfoy." He got up and left the compartment.

"Who cares about him?" Malfoy said. "I can see Hogwarts. We better got our robes on." They were going, but Draco stopped as he grabbed his bag. "Actually, you go. I want to check something." They left as he looked around the room before saying,

"Didn't mummy ever tell you it's bad manners to eavesdrop, Potter? Petrificus Totalus!" he had managed to hit me as I fell to the floor, looking at him, who grinned, broke my nose with his boot, and covered the cloak over me.

"Oh, right..." He said. "She was dead before you could wipe the drool off your chin. Enjoy the ride back to London."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Moments later, I felt something fly over me as I got up to find Luna with her Spectroscopes.
"Hello, Harry," She said calmly.

"Luna!" I gasped as I stood up. "How'd you find me?"

"Wrackspurts!" She said. "Your head's full of them."

We got off the train as Luna led me to the gates. "Sorry I made you miss the carriages." I said

"Everyone was worried so I thought I would try and find you." Luna said. "But it's alright. I enjoyed our walk. It was like being with a friend."

"Oh, I am your friend, Luna!" I said.

Professor Flitwick came towards us with a long roll of parchment in his hand. "About time!" He said. "I've been looking all over for you two. Names."

I was puzzled. "Professor Flitwick, you've known me for five years."

"No exceptions, Potter," he grunted as he scrolled through it.

"Who are these people?" Luna asked as she stared at the people around.

"Aurors," Flitwick said. "For security."

"It's not a cane, you cretin," Malfoy said to Filch ahead of us with Snape. "It's a walking stick."

"And what exactly would you be wanting with a walking stick?" Filch said.

"It was his father's," Snape said.

"Is my father's," Malfoy corrected him. "He's not dead."

They kept talking about it as Malfoy looked at us. "Nice face, Potter," He smirked as he walked in before admiring his handiwork.

Luna turned around and faced me. "Would you like me to fix it?" She said as she took out her wand. "I think you look a bit more... devil-may-care this way. But it's up to you."

"Have you ever fixed one?" I asked. "A nose."

"No," She said. "But I've done several toes and how different are they really?"

I looked at her. I knew Luna meant well as she lived with us for a while, so I said. "What the hell? Give it a go."

"Episkey!" She said as my nose snapped into place.

"Gah!" I said as it did. "Well? How do I look?"

"Exceptionally ordinary."

"Brilliant."

Hermione POV

"Don' you worry," Ron said in between bites to me, Y/N and Lana. "He'll be 'long soon 'nuff --"

"Will-You-Stop-eating!" Lana said as she hit him with a book. "Our-god brother-and-your-best-friend-are-missing! And where's Luna?"

"Oi!" Ron said to her. "Turn around, you lunatic."

Harry had walked in with some blood on his face along with Luna. "He's covered in blood again." Ginny said as Y/N held my hand. "Why is it he's always covered in blood?"

"Looks like his own this time," Ron added as Lana ran up to Harry and brought him and Luna to the table.

"Are you okay?" Lana asked him like a concerned older sister as she examined his face and kissed his forehead. "Why are you covered in blood?" Ron's eyes squinted at her as she did. He almost looked jealous! But besides, Harry looks at Lana like an older sister anyways and Lana does the same for him.

"Yeah, looks like you were whacked in the nose," Y/N said. "Luna, you healed it, I'm guessing." Luna nodded as she sat down.

"Where have you been?" I asked. "Y/N and I were looking when we left, we couldn't find you!"

"Later," He said. "What've I missed?

"The Sorting for starters," Anne said, who was next to Y/N and I.

"Urged us all to be brave and strong in these troubled times," Ron said. "Easy for it to say -- it's a hat isn't it? First Years seemed to enjoy it, though. Wankers. Filch give you the wand outside?"

Harry nodded as Ginny took a napkin and dabbed it on his face, who blushed as much as Harry as he took it. "Thanks..."

The lights dimmed to grab our attention as Dumbledore appeared at the podium with his arms raised. "Hey, I didn't notice that," I said as I looked at his burned hand. "What happened to it? His hand?"

"I dunno, Love," Y/N said as he squeezed my hand.

"The very best of evenings to you! First off, please join me in welcoming the newest member of our staff, Horace Slughorn." Dumbledore announced. "Professor Slughorn, I'm happy to say, has agreed to resume his old post of Potions master. Meanwhile the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be assumed by Professor Snape."

The whole of the Great Hall fell silent at the news of this news as Dumbledore continued. "Along with that, I have heard you all have enjoyed having your new Headmistress in my absence," He said. "And due to this, staffing changes have been made and now, Addison Lovegood will serve alongside Professor McGonagall as Deputy Headmistress and your Transfiguration Teacher."

Most of the students were cheering as Addison was smiling. People really liked her as Headmistress, keeping Umbridge in line as well as caring for the other students and their hopes or passions.

"Now, as you know, each and every one of you was searched upon your arrival tonight. You have a right to know why." Dumbledore said. Once there was a young man who, like you, sat in this very Hall. Walk through the castle's corridors. Slept beneath its roof. He seemed, to all the world, a student like any other. His name? Tom Riddle."

The Hall went silent again as Anne moved closer to us in fear as she hugged me. I rubbed her back as we all watched Dumbledore. "Today, of course, the world knows him by another name. Which is why, as I stand looking out upon you all tonight, I am reminded of a sobering fact. Each day, every hour, this very minute perhaps, dark forces attempt to penetrate this castle. But in the end, their greatest weapon remains... you. Just something to keep in mind. Now, off to bed. Pip pip!"

As we were dismissed, Y/N and I took the first years along with Professor McGonagall. We brought them to the Common Room as the elder witch smiled at us.

"You both have been excellent at being Prefects," She said to us as all the first years went to their dorms. "I knew I picked the right people. Miss Granger, I believe Y/N told you that you both may share a room now?"

"Oh, yes," I said as Y/N side-hugged me. "Sorry about that, we didn't tell you last year with Umbridge and everything."

"Do not worry about it," Professor McGonagall said. "I know you care a great deal about my grandson, and I do respect that. Just be responsible together." She smiled at us both as she left. I turned around, smiled at him and pecked his lips.

"So..." I said. "Should we unpack?"

"Oh, let's," He said. "Have to make sure Snuffles is comfortable." He took my hand and led us to the dorm, which was very different. The bed was big enough for both of us, but it kinda looked the same as Y/N's old dorm.

"It does look different, does it?" I asked him.

"Yeah, it does," Y/N said. "But it's ours. And I am going to love it with you." He kissed me and we went to get changed. A few moments later, he had changed and was on the bed reading a book. I had done my hair, grabbed one of Y/N's hoodies and took off my shirt to replace it with said hoodie.

Y/N saw me slide it on my skin and his face went red as I walked to the bed. "Oh, is something wrong?" I asked him.

"Oh no, I-I didn't expect you to change your shirt in front of me," He said shyly. "Sorry about that."

"You have nothing to be sorry for, Love," I said with another kiss and Snuffles came into my arms. "It's okay if you were nervous about that, you didn't know."

He smiled and planted his lips on mine again. "Alright then," He said. "You do still want me to cuddle with you, right?"

I looked at him with a serious, but happy expression. "Of course. I didn't say to stop."

"Good," He said, smiling as he came down to my ears and whispered. "I wasn't gonna stop that, Babe." I smiled, moved myself so that I could lay down on his chest comfortably, facing the same way as him and he wrapped his arms around me. We continued to read for a while until I heard light snoring from Snuffles, who must have fallen asleep in my hands. Y/N looked at Snuffles as I closed the book and put it to the side. Y/N and I then spent time talking with each other and watched Snuffles sleep.

"Hey, do you see anything when I put on your hoodie?" I asked.

"Just your midriff," He responded. "And your shoulder."

"Alright then," I said. "I'm gonna sleep now. Good night, Y/N. I love you so much." I kissed him again as I laid down on his chest.

"Good night, 'Mione," He said as he laid down with me on top of him and rubbed my back. "I love you more." And we fell asleep immediately after.

Lana POV

The next day, I decided to make my first class Professor Slughorn's class. I joined up with Hermione and Y/N, and they were talking with Anne, who they were dropping off to her first class with Professor Sprout. Y/N and Hermione seemed really happy, I guess they moved in the same dorm last night. I wonder if they told Anne about their Quidditch match...

"Wait, Hermione, you beat Y/N in a Quidditch match?" Anne asked.

Nevermind, they're telling her.

"Oh, I did," She said with a smile as Y/N went red a little. "We even had a bet which I won, and now Y/N lets me cuddle him when I want."

"Yeah, but I'm fine with it," Y/N said. "I didn't mind if she did, she's my girlfriend."

"I love you," Hermione said as she kissed him.

"Love you more," He said.

"Hello!" I said as I came around and Anne had hugged me. "So, Slughorn's?"

"Yeah, after we drop Anne," Y/N said. We quickly got her to Sprouts and made our way to Slughorns. Eventually Harry and Ron came in while Ron whined, " But I don't want to take Potions!"

"Harry, m'boy!" Slughorn said. "I was beginning to worry! And I see we've brought someone with us..."

"Ron Weasley, sir." Ron said nervously. "But I'm dead awful at Potions, a menace actually, so I probably should just be going..."

"Nonsense, we'll sort you out!" He said. "Any friend of Harry's is a friend of mine. Right then, books out --"

"Um, sorry, sir," Harry said politely. "I forgot to get my book -- Ron doesn't have one either. You see --"

"Not to worry!" He said again. "You can get what you need from the cupboard." The boys took the last two copies, and went to a station as Slughorn addressed us. "Now, as I was saying, I've prepared a few concoctions this morning. Any ideas what these might be?" Y/N and Hermione raised their hands as I smirked. "Yes! Mr. Lovegood and Miss Granger!"

"That one right there," Y/N said to one of the cauldrons. "Is Veritaserum. The Truth-Telling Potion. It takes a moon cycle to prepare."

"The one in the middle is Polyjuice Potion," Hermione said. "And this is Amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the world." She came closer to the pot and continued, "It's rumored to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them. For example, I smell vanilla cologne, new parchment and ink, and the smell of Butterbeer." She quickly looked back at Y/N and smiled at him and he smiled back at her.

I came closer to the pot and took in the smell to see. I smelt fresh grass...parchment... and strawberry ice cream?

It smelled like the Burrow. Reminds me of a certain ginger boy.

"Now Amortentia doesn't create actual love, of course. That's impossible. But it does cause a powerful infatuation or obsession." Slughorn said. "For that reason, it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room."

"Sir," Katie Bell asked. "You haven't told us what's in that one?" She said pointing to a small black cauldron with a golden liquid as I noticed Lavender eyeing Ron.

"Ah yes..." Slughorn said as he walked toward it, ladled it around, poured it into a vial and showed it to us. "What you see before you, ladies and gentlemen, is a curious little potion known as Felix Felicis. But it is more commonly referred to as --"

"Liquid Luck," Hermione and I said at the same time.

"Yes, Miss Granger and Miss Lovegood," He said. "Desperately tricky to make. Disastrous should you get it wrong. But brewed correctly, as this has been, it has remarkable powers. One sip and you will find that all your endeavors succeed... at least until the effects wear off."

"But then why don't people drink it all the time?" Katie asked.

"Because taken in excess it causes giddiness, recklessness and dangerous overconfidence."

"Have you ever taken it, sir?" Blaise asked.

"Twice." He answered. "Once when I was 24, once when I was 57. Two tablespoons taken at Breakfast. Two perfect days..." He looked at the vial and looked back. "This is what I offer each of you today. One tiny vial of liquid luck... to the student who, in the hour that remains, manages to brew an acceptable Draught of Living Death, the recipe for which can be found on page ten of your textbook. You should know that in all the years of my previous tenure at Hogwarts, not once did a student brew a potion of sufficient quality to claim this prize. In any event -- good luck."

Slughorn put the vial on his desk as all of us got to work on the Draught of Living Death. I opened my book and followed the instructions as I saw them. Y/N and Hermione were working on their own, but were talking to the other as they were trying to make the Potion. Harry seemingly muttered "Cut up one Sopophorous bean," and cut it. Ron's bean however had hit Katie in the head.

"Crush with blade -- releases juice better," Harry said. That wasn't in the textbook... He took his blade and did as he heard while Hermione, Y/N and I looked at him. We all looked at him skeptically and Hermione asked, "How did you do that?"

"Crush it," Harry answered. "Don't cut it."

"No, Harry," Y/N said. "It says to cut. We both have glasses, but one of us has to check if we're blind or not."

"No, Really -- " Harry said before I sushed him. He shrugged and tipped the juice from it into the cauldron, where the liquid turned lilac. Harry grinned while Y/N and I squinted at him.

Over the time, all of the students struggled. Lavender's potion overflowed as she kept looking at Ron, which made me a little furious. Hermione was getting more and more frustrated as her hair grew frizzer and bushier. Y/N stopped doing his and tried to help her as she smiled at him.
"Here let me help, 'Mione," He said kindly. "Do you want some help with your hair after?"

Hermione looked confused as she felt for her hair, realized it was bushy and nodded. "Right, after class, I'll try something that should get it back to normal."

Harry, however, was the coolest among us, taking no stress and added the last thing as Malfoy cut himself. The potions shined like gold as Slughorn came around and gasped, "Merlin's beard! But... it's perfect. So perfect I daresay one sip would kill us all!" He looked at Harry. "Your mother was a dab hand at potions, but this... My, my, what can't you do, m'boy? Perhaps you will save us all in the end..."

He went back to his desk and grabbed the vial. "Here you are then, as promised," Slughorn presented. "One bottle of Felix Felicis. Use it Well."

As class ended, Ron and Harry went off for their next class as they said goodbye and Y/N tried to fix Hermione's hair by making a small ball of water in his hand to make her hair a little wet, and then to dry it off, he used the Drought Charm.

Hermione felt her hair was back to normal, albeit a little curly instead of all of it being curly and kissed him. "You're really brilliant, you know that?" She said to him and kissed him again.

(A/N: Sounds weird, but her hair, it looks really cute! How is this woman so beautiful!?)

"Not as brilliant as you," He teased and kissed her.

"Alright, alright, Lovebirds," I snickered. "Come on, we should get to our next class."

"Excuse me, Y/N, Lana?" Professor Slughorn said to us. "Maybe I have a word? They'll be right back, Miss Granger, don't you worry."

"Um, sure?" I asked and Y/N and I joined him before Y/N kissed Hermione again and rubbed her cheek. We entered the classroom again, as Slughorn directed us to his desks, where our cauldrons sat with it's contents still intact.

"I examined the potion you both created," Slughorn said. "And surprisingly enough, you achieved the same goal. I dropped a leaf in, and it shriveled, meaning it was brewed correctly."

Y/N looked confused. "Really? I put some things I thought would accelerate the rate of the potion developing, I stopped to help my girlfriend, she was struggling with hers."

"I did the same," I said. "I thought accelerating the reaction rate would help develop it more, but it needed more time. Just a mild guess."

"Well, what you did... really impressed me!" He said. "That is why I shall give you these." He reached in his desk, grabbed two other vials and filled them both with the excess of Felix Felicis. "You both are deserving of these, Addison was just as good as Lily. Seems like her skill passed on to you both." We both took the vial and pocketed them in our pockets.

"Oh and, before I forget, there was a book around here, Dumbledore was asking about it." Slughorn asked. "It had some notes in it, he said it was important he got it."

"Whose book was it?" We asked.

"There was no name in it from what Dumbledore said," Slughorn said. "But it did say something along the lines of, 'This is the property of the Half-Blood Prince'."
