50). The Devil In Pink
Harry POV
The next day, everyone else left for Platform 9 ¾ while I was escorted by Mad-Eye, Tonks, Mrs. Weasley and Sirius as a dog. Y/N, Hermione, Lana, Ron, Luna and the other Weasleys had already left, but I had to be escorted.
We entered the Platform and found the engine in front of us with loads of Families and students entering the train, bidding goodbye to everyone.
"I hope they made it on time," Mrs. Weasley said.
"Nice dog, Harry!" Lee shouted at me.
"Thanks, Lee," I said as Sirius wagged his tail happily.
"Oh good, here's Alastor with the luggage, look..."
A porter came with my things with odd mis-matched eyes as the others arrived and got their things in the train. The Order gave us all good wishes and good luck.
"Keep your head down," Mad-Eye said. "And don't forget, all of you - careful what you put in writing. If in doubt, don't put it in a letter at all."
"It's been great meeting all of you, and good to see you again, Lana" Tonks said as she hugged the girls "We'll see you soon, I expect."
"Quick, quick," Mrs. Weasley said as she ushered us in "Write. . . . Be good. . . . If you've forgotten anything we'll send it on. . . . Onto the train, now, hurry."
Before I went, Sirius, still as a dog, placed his paws on my shoulders in a fatherly way, but Mrs. Weasley pushed me into the train before it left. "For heaven's sake, act more like a dog, Sirius!" She scolded him as she growled.
"He shouldn't have come here," Hermione said worriedly as we walked around. She was holding hands with Y/N and Snuffles was with Snowball, who was protecting the Niffler from any harm.
"He hasn't seen sunlight in months, Love," Y/N said to her. "It was nice of him to see us off."
"Well," Fred said with his brother next to him. "can't stand around chatting all day, we've got business to discuss with Lee. See you later," The Weasley twins then went off to find Lee somewhere in the train.
"Shall we go and find a compartment, then?" I asked the four as Lana looked at Hermione and Y/N and back at me and Ron.
"Umm," Lana said.
"We're supposed to go to the prefect carriage," Hermione said as she clutched her boyfriend's hand.
"Sorry about that," Y/N said as he scratched his head. "I don't think we have to stay that long, we're supposed to report to the Head Boy and Girl and then patrol the corridors from time to time. I'll try not to be like Percy, Ron." He said as he shook our hands.
"Please don't try to be, mate," Ron smirked a little. "Come on, Harry, we'll wait for them." Before we went, I noticed he glanced at Lana quickly and turned back to me as we entered the compartment with Neville, Luna and Ginny. Luna was reading the Quibbler, which was noticeably upside down.
"Hey, Luna?" I asked her. "Why are you reading that upside down?"
"The Runes article," She said calmly. "But it's alright. I think I'll just wait for my cousins, but I think Hermione and Y/N would talk together with me too. They're quite the pair."
"Yeah, I guess so," Ron said. "I hope I get that kind of thing someday."
"Oh yeah, I've been meaning to ask," I said. "You fancy Lana?"
As I mentioned her name, Ron's face went red as Neville, Ginny and even Luna turned to his direction. Ginny was grinning madly, Neville was surprised and Luna was still smiling.
"What? Nooo..." Ron said.
"Your face says otherwise," I said.
"Come on," Ginny said with that grin. It was kind of adorable. "Tell us, Ronnie, we won't tell anyone else."
"Fine," Ron said with a sigh. "I do fancy her."
"I'm definitely telling Y/N," Ginny said.
"What?" Ron said. "You just said you won't tell anyone!"
"I LIED!" Ginny said. "And I said to anyone, not any of our friends."
Soon enough, Hermione, Y/N and Lana came in after an hour as we had played some games. Ron blushed as he saw Lana walk in.
"Ugh, that was tiring," Y/N said as he sat down next to Hermione. "We got anything?" I chuckled a chocolate frog at him as he caught it. "And could you give me two Pumpkin Pasties?" He asked as I gave them to him. He took them and gave them to Hermione, who picked up Crookshanks and smiled at him.
"One to share together and one for Snuffles," He said. "How was it going here?"
"There are two fifth-year prefects from each house," Hermione said as she gave a piece to Y/N and Snuffles. "Us for Gryffindor, Lana and Sam for Ravenclaw, Ernie Macmillan and Hannah Abott for Hufflepuff."
"And guess who the Slytherin Prefect is?" Y/N said.
"Malfoy..." I scowled.
"Course it is," Ron said.
"And that cow, Pansy Parkinson," Hermione spat. "How she got to be a prefect when she's thicker than a concussed troll..."
"Well, at least I know a prefect that's really pretty," Y/N said. "With beautiful brown eyes I could look into all day."
Hermione nudged him and kissed him. "Who's the flirt now, huh?"
"Still you, beautiful," He said as he wrapped his arm around her and she laid her head on his shoulder. "I can't wait to see Crabbe and Goyle get in trouble. I'm gonna make them write lines, they hate writing."
"I... must... not... act...like...a...daft...dickhead." He motioned in the air as everyone laughed, Luna being the loudest surprisingly.
Y/N POV
I looked at Luna, who was laughing loads as I smiled at her. She must have dropped her copy of the Quibbler. I looked down at the headline which was quite strange. Uncle Xeno must be working overtime on these.
HOW FAR WILL FUDGE GO TO GAIN GRINGOTTS?
CORRUPTION IN THE QUIDDITCH LEAGUE:
How the Tornados Are Taking Control
SECRETS OF THE ANCIENT RUNES REVEALED
SIRIUS BLACK: Villain or Victim?
Not going to lie, the Quibbler has better headlines than the Prophet. I turned the pages to the Sirius Black article to find the weirdest headline of all.
Sirius - Black as He's Painted?
Notorious Mass Murderer OR Innocent Singing Sensation?
...WHAT...
"Hey, Lu?" I asked as Hermione and I watched the headline before passing it to Lana, Ron and Harry. "What is this article on about?"
"Oh, Dad's been getting lots of stories about Mr. Black," Luna said calmly. "I don't think he's a bad person, he's just very misunderstood by everyone. He's been nothing but kind to me."
Harry opened the paper and read out the story.
For fourteen years Sirius Black has been believed guilty of the mass murder of twelve innocent Muggles and one wizard. Black's audacious escape from Azkaban two years ago has led to the widest manhunt ever conducted by the Ministry of Magic. None Of us has ever questioned that he deserves to be recaptured and handed back to the dementors.
BUT DOES HE?
Startling new evidence has recently come to light that Sirius Black may not have committed the crimes for which he was sent to Azkaban. In fact, says Doris Purkiss, of 18 Acanthia Way, Little Norton, Black may not even have been present at the killings.
"What people don't realize is that Sirius Black is a false name," says Mrs. Purkiss. "The man people believe to be Sirius Black is actually Stubby Boardman, lead singer of the popular singing group The Hobgoblins, who retired from public life after being struck in the ear by a turnip at a concert in Little Norton Church Hall nearly fifteen years ago. I recognized him the moment I saw his picture in the paper. Now, Stubby couldn't possibly have committed those crimes, because on the day in question he happened to be enjoying a romantic candlelit dinner with me. I have written to the Minister of Magic and am expecting him to give Stubby, alias Sirius, a full pardon any day now."
"Well, they're right about one thing," Lana said. "Sirius didn't kill those Muggles."
"But just because Stubby Boardman and Sirius have the same initials," Hermione said. "Doesn't mean they're the same person."
Harry flipped through the pages again to find the Fudge article and read it out to.
Cornelius Fudge, the Minister of Magic, denied that he had any plans to take over the running of the Wizarding Bank, Gringotts, when he was elected Minister of Magic five years ago. Fudge has always insisted that he wants nothing more than to "cooperate peacefully" with the guardians of our gold.
BUT DOES HE?
Sources close to the Minister have recently disclosed that Fudge's dearest ambition is to seize control of the goblin gold supplies and that he will not hesitate to use force if need be. "It wouldn't be the first time, either," said a Ministry insider. "Cornelius 'Goblin-Crusher' Fudge, that's what his friends call him, if you could hear him when he thinks no one's listening, oh, he's always talking about the goblins he's had done in; he's had them drowned, he's had them dropped off buildings, he's had them poisoned, he's had them cooked in pies. . . ."
My god, this article's making Fudge out to be like one of those gangsters in one of the Muggle movies Hermione's shown me.
"Luna, your father edits this?" Hermione asked politely. "The articles are interesting to say the least, more quality than the Prophet.
"Yes," Luna said. "May I have that back, Harry?" As Harry gave her the article, a familiar chuckle came through the compartments as Draco Malfoy and his henchman stood outside.
"What?" Harry scowled at the three Slytherins.
"Manners, Potter," Malfoy said. "Or I'll have to give you a detention. You see, I unlike you, have been made a prefect, which means I, unlike you, have the power to hand out punishment."
"And I, unlike you," I said. "Am a prefect too, you don't see me bragging about it."
"And he's not a git," Harry said. "So get out and leave us alone."
"I seemed to have touched a nerve," Malfoy said.
'No shit, Sherlock,' I thought to myself.
"Well, just watch yourself, Potter," he continued. "because I'll be dogging your footsteps in case you step out of line."
"Get out!" Hermione shouted and slammed the door in their face. She sat back down and exchanged a nervous look with Harry and I.
"Hey, 'Mione?" I said after a while. "You think we should patrol the corridors again?"
'We could talk too?' I said in her head. 'I just have to make sure Malfoy isn't around.'
'I'd like that, Love," She said back.
"Yeah, let's do that," Hermione said as she took my hand and opened the door. "We have to get changed first."
We went to get changed in the respective rooms. I got my clothes together and slipped on my trousers, buttoned up my shirt, pinned my Prefect Badge to my robes and slid them on, but I couldn't find my tie anyway.
"Where is it?" I said as I looked around the room. "Did I leave it in the compartment?"
"Looking for something?" I heard Hermione say behind me as she held my tie, smirking at me.
"Why did you take it?" I asked with a small laugh.
"I just wanted to tie it for you," She said. "Thought it'd be cute." She straightened my collar and began to tie my tie around my neck. She managed to finish up quickly and rather neatly as well.
"Wow, 'Mione," I said. "You made this way neater than I do, thanks - mmh!"
Before I could finish, Hermione yanked my tie, bringing my head to hers and kissed me. I kissed her back and brought my hand to her neck as she smiled and let go of my tie.
"Sorry if I hurt you doing that," She said as we let go.
"No, no," I said. "It was just unexpected, that's all." I kissed her again on her soft lips. "At least we can kiss in public now."
"Oh, yeah," Hermione said. "Hopefully no-one complains about it too. And we have some time to ourselves as Prefects. Shall we patrol now?"
"Let's," I took her hand and we began to patrol the train as it came to a stop. We watched all the students deboard the train, but strangely, Hagrid wasn't there for the first years. As the students flooded out and everything was situated, we and Lana walked back to Ginny, Luna, Harry and Ron to the carriages, where Harry stood there watching a Thestral in front of him.
"What are those things, you reckon?" He asked everyone.
Everyone but Lana, Luna, Neville and I looked at him in confusion. "What things?" Ron asked him.
"Those horses..." Harry said as Luna handed Ron his owl, Pigwidgeon, climbed onto the carriage, and reopened the Quibbler.
"What horse things?" Hermione asked before turning to me. "Is he okay?"
"He's absolutely fine," I said. "He's just seen a Thestral, is all."
"You mean the creatures -"
"That anyone can see when someone dies in front of them." I finished. "I can see them, Luna and Lana can too. Nev, you can see them, right?"
"Yeah," He muttered. "They're strange, is all."
"You're not going mad," Luna said as she pulled down her copy. "We can see them too. You're just as sane as we are."
(A/N: Luna, you adorable human gahhhhh.)
With her small smile, we all climbed on the carriage as the Thestrals took us to the castle.

"I beg a few moments of your attention," Dumbledore asked to the Great Hall as it fell silent quickly.
"I have a few start of term announcements. Right off, our caretaker, the good Mr. Filch has reminded me for what he says is the four-hundred and sixty-second time that he had annually updated a list of various banned items, usually introduced by our humour experts Fred and George Weasley."
As their names were called, a cheer of laughter erupted as the twins got up and bowed as Dumbledore smiled before saying, "which are posted in extensive list on the door to Mr. Filch's door."
"Also, we have two staffing changes this year," Dumbledore announced. "I am pleased to announce... that none other than Newt Scamander himself will be taking the post of Care of Magical Creatures post as Professor Hagrid is on... extended leave."
Even though we were part of the Order of the Phoenix, we didn't know what Hagrid was doing. Mum did tell us what she deemed to be, 'need to know basis.' But it would be awesome to have Newt teach everyone!
"Additionally, we have Professor Umbridge, who has kindly agreed to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts-"
"Wait, what?" I said. "He did not just say-"
"Hem-hem." The devil in pink interrupted Dumbledore and my thoughts. "Headmaster, if I could address the school?"
(A/N: Of all the people who did die in the original... why didn't she die!? She deserves it!)
"She did not just-" Hermione said.
"SHE JUST DID..." Lana whisper-shouted.
Dumbledore looked at Umbridge with a look in his eyes as Grandma glared at her. Dumbledore allowed for her as Grandma continued to glare with a look that could kill.
"Thank you, Headmaster," She said in that sick voice.
'You literally just interrupted him.'
"Now, how are we all doing tonight? I thought I would just say a few words."
'We were doing fine without you speaking. And whenever someone says that, they talk for hours.'
"I am here at the Ministry of Magic's bequest, under Educational Decree 22, which states that if the Headmaster of Hogwarts is unable to fill any teaching post the Ministry shall select one for the position."
'No, they probably just made it as an excuse for Fudge's bullshit.'
And what do you know, she talked for 20 damn minutes.
What did I tell you?
The feast began and everyone ate up until the feast ended, which now it was time for what Percy did for us when we were first years. Hermione and I got up from our seats and addressed the first years. "First years!" I called out to them. "Follow Miss Granger and I to your dorms!"
God, it felt weird to say that.
"Are you the prefects?" A young girl asked Hermione as she stood in front of us.
"Oh, yes, we are," Hermione said kindly. "I'm Hermione Granger, and that's Y/N Lovegood, my boyfriend. And you are?" She asked in the same kind voice.
"My name is Anne," The girl said. "Anne Cotton. I'm a Muggle-born, so I think I would be very confused."
"Oh, don't worry," I said. "Magic does sound complicated, but it's just very simple. I guarantee you."
"I'm a Muggle-born, too," Hermione told her. "I thought it was hard too, but I had friends to help me out. But if you ever need help, feel free to ask either of us."
"Thank you, Miss Granger!" Anne said with a smile. "Thank you, Mr. Lovegood!" and with that, she went in the line.
"Wow, Mr. Lovegood," I said. "Hearing it from someone younger, makes me sound old."
"Well, she does sound nice," Hermione said. "I think she'd do good here, and I think I'll take something from you in the future."
I was a little confused as we walked the first years to the dorms. "What do you mean, take something?"
"Your last name," She smirked and kissed my cheek. "But then again, Hermione Lovegood-Granger does have a ring to it."
"I have to give you a ring first," I teased at her.
"Okay, that was pretty funny," Hermione said with a smile as we arrived at the Common Room. She turned around and faced the first years. "Right -- girls, follow me, boys, follow Y/N!"
As the boys and girls flooded apart, Hermione directed the girls to their dorms and I directed the Boys to theirs. As every first year entered their dorm, Hermione and I looked at each other, walked up and kissed as no-one was watching.
"You know, I liked that," Hermione said as we stopped kissing, but remained in each other's arms. "Just us... doing our thing together.
"I did too," I said. "Just the two of us. Wonder if it will be like that anytime without You-Know-Who."
I looked at my watch. "Oh, I better check with the guys. There might be chaos in there, and I don't know."
"Good luck with that," Hermione teased and kissed me again. "I have to check with the girls too. Talk more tomorrow morning?"
"Sounds like a plan," I said as I brushed her hair behind her ear. "Good night, 'Mione. I love you."
"I love you too!" she said with another kiss and waved as she entered the girls dorm.
Hermione POV
The next day, our classes began, but before they did, Y/N and I woke up early and had breakfast before going to the trees near the Black Lake. We were there when it was bright and early, not a single student in sight. All that was out was us, Snuffles and the Giant Squid.
We sat down to read together as Y/N laid on a tree and I sat down and laid on my head on his chest. Snuffles sat on my lap as I opened a book and Y/N wrapped his arms around my waist as we read for a while. And surprisingly, Snuffles was reading every page with us. Even when we were done and just cuddling, Snuffles had opened the book and looked through the pages again.
"Woah," Y/N said. "Snuffles is reading?"
"Yeah, it looks like it," I said. "He must be a very intelligent Niffler. He's still our baby though." I quickly kissed him and took Snuffles to us. "Our intelligent, adorable baby." I kissed him quickly and rubbed Snuffles' head with my own, causing him to squeal happily.
"Oh, look at the time," Y/N said. "We should get to class soon.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A couple hours later, we were in Professor Umbridge's class, where a board was set up with some textbooks. Harry came in late, and sat with the four of us as Umbridge smiled.
"Hmm, let's see, five points from Gryffindor for coming in late." Umbridge said. Even Snape wouldn't do something like that. "Now, good afternoon!" She said gleefully to a class that already hated her, myself included. She nearly got my boyfriend and my best friends expelled.
"Good afternoon," a few people said.
"Tut, tut," She said. "That won't do, now will it? I should like you, please, to reply, 'Good afternoon, Professor Umbridge.' One more time please --"
"Why should we?" Y/N asked.
"Excuse me?" Umbridge said to him.
"We aren't a primary school class to repeat everything you saw," Y/N said. "This is a Defense Against the Dark Arts class, not reading sentences."
"Another five points," She said. "For talking back to a teacher."
"Poor excuse of one," He muttered to me as I giggled softly.
"Wands away and quills out." She instructed. We were curious as to why since we needed our wands. Umbridge took her own wand and began to write on the board.
"I will be following a pre-approved, Ministry-prepared, theory-centered Defense lesson plan. Copy this down."
Everyone began to write as Y/N stared at her and I sat there, unmoving, raising my hand in the air. She ignored me for a while until she sighed, "Yes?"
"I wanted to know something about your course aims." I said.
"Well, they should be perfectly self-evident."
"Well, I don't think they are," I said. "They say nothing about actually doing spells."
She laughed to everyone's attention. "I can imagine no circumstance in my class where you would need to use spells, my dear!"
"What?" Y/N said. "Again, this is Defense Against the Dark Arts, and you're teaching us with theory? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
"But surely the whole point of Defense Against the Dark Arts is practical application?" I asked.
"Miss Granger, this class has been approved by Ministry experts. Are you a Ministry Expert?"
"She can be!" Y/N said. "She's smarter than all of us, including you! We need to learn spells to defend ourselves! What do you expect us to do with what you teach? Hope a theory can stop the Killing Curse!"
"We also have O.W.L.s coming up!" I said. "You expect us to do spells with no practice?"
"Y/N and Hermione are right," Harry said. "What good's theory in the real world?"
"This is school, not the real world, Mr. Potter," She said to everyone's combined annoyance. "There is nothing out there to get you."
"What about Lord Voldemort?" Lana asked as everyone gasped at the name.
"Ten points from Ravenclaw, Miss Lovegood," Umbridge said with that sick smile. "Let me set the record straight. Some of you have been told that a certain dark wizard has returned. This-is-a-lie."
"This-is-a-lie," Y/N and Lana mocked her behind her back.
"It-is-not-a-lie!" Harry said.
"Mr. Potter, Mr. Lovegood, and Miss Lovegood, you have just landed yourselves detention!" She said.
"So, according to you," Harry continued. "Y/N and Lana cast Protego Diabolica for no reason in a graveyard?"
"They have cast a dangerous spell that would have killed anyone in the area," She said.
"DEATH EATERS WERE TRYING TO KILL US!" Harry yelled at the top of his lungs. "VOLDEMORT WAS TRYING TO KILL US!"
"Mr. Potter, you have earned yourself a week's worth of detentions!"
"Who gives a damn, Umbitch?" Y/N said as everyone looked at him in surprise. Parvati covered her mouth in shock and even Malfoy was surprised at what happened. Umbridge took a quill, wrote something down and handed it to Y/N, Harry and Lana.
"That goes to Professor McGonagall and Professor Filtwick, dears," She said to them.
"Don't. Call. Us. Dear." Y/N and Lana scowled as their eyes glowed at her. And she seemingly cowered away. He took the paper and Harry's, burned them in his hand, and they all walked out the door.
Lana POV
"Well?" Grandma asked us as Filtwick stood on a stool. "Is this true?"
"Is what true?" I asked her. "What we said in the classroom?"
"Yes, Lana," Grandma said. "Mr. Potter, is it true you shouted at Professor Umbridge?"
"Yes," Harry said solemnly.
"Y/N, did you call her the equivalent of a female dog?" She asked him.
"Absolutely," He said.
"Lana, did you tell her He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is back?" Flitwick asked me.
"Yes," I said.
"Very well," She said as Flitwick nodded. Surprisingly, he reached under the desk and pulled out a bowl of... biscuits?
"Have a biscuit, you three," He said calmly. "And sit down."
"I-wait, what?" Y/N and I asked.
Harry had already taken a Ginger Newt and sat down as he watched the Professors. "You three need to be careful," Grandma said.
Y/N took a biscuit and looked at the two nervously. "Misbehavior in Dolores Umbridge's class could cost you much more than House points and a detention," Flitwick said to us. "Harry, Y/N, you may not be a part of Ravenclaw House, but I am going to treat it exactly like Lana's."
"We have decided not to take your Prefect status away," Grandma said. "But try not to offend her again. She is reporting to the Ministry and she will take anything to remove you from the school. And I imagine you don't want Miss Granger to be worried about that, Y/N."
"Of course, Grandma," Y/N said. "We still have detention with Umbridge. Hope it is survivable."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day came, and detentions came around. Hermione had wished us good luck and gave Y/N a kiss. Harry and Y/N had to miss Quidditch Practice because of it, which made the team and it's new Captain, Angelina Johnson a bit mad about it. Ron had also wished us luck and surprisingly hugged me, which was weird, but it felt nice.
We entered the room to find the Devil in Pink sitting at her desk, waiting for us. "Ah, you three are here," She said. "Sit down."
We all took our seats in front of her. "You're going to be doing lines tonight, and you'll be using these quills." She set one down on each of our desks.
"Mr. Potter, you will write, 'I will not tell lies,' until I tell you to stop. Understand?" She said to him before turning to us. "Lovegoods... you will write, 'I have, am, and will always be a loyal descendant of Grindelwald'."
Y/N and I looked at each other. She was going to humiliate us?
"There's no ink..." Harry said.
"Oh, you won't need ink," She smirked evilly as we began to write. As I wrote the first part of what she said, I felt pricking on my hand as I looked at it.
I found the words, "I have, am, and will always be a loyal descendant of Grindelwald" etched on my skin with nothing but my own blood. I continued to write so I could leave with the boys, but the pain kept coming. Y/N looked at Umbridge and stared at her.
"Ah, I see you saw it, Mr. Lovegood," She said with a smile that made me want to punch her. "If I may see your left forearm?"
She walked up to him and rolled up his sleeve without his permission and found the scar he had gotten before the third task.
"So the message I left you is still here. Remember that, you will always be a monster." She smirked evilly at him.
Y/N looked angry as she revealed that to him. "You... did this to me?"
"Oh, yes," She said. "It is a reminder that you don't deserve what you have now."
Y/N still wrote as he looked her dead in the eyes.
'I...hate...you...' I heard him say in his head. Harry and I couldn't believe it, she did that to Y/N?
Hermione is definitely going to kill her.
We kept writing until Professor Umbridge said, "That's enough for this evening. Mr and Miss Lovegood, I hope this serves as a lesson to you to not do that in my class again. Mr. Potter, Same time, tomorrow, and we'll see if we can get the message to sink in a bit deeper."
We left the room as Y/N looked like he was nearly about to tear up. I felt the same, I never felt this much... hatred towards us. "You two going to be okay?" I asked them. Y/N stayed silent and Harry shook his head slowly. "I'm gonna go to Ravenclaw Tower, I'm gonna talk to Luna." With that, I left the boys and arrived at the Ravenclaw Tower, where Luna was waiting for me.
"Are you okay?" Luna asked calmly. "Are you hurt?"
"Kind of, Lu," I said as I raised my hand, revealing the scarring on my hand as Luna came up.
"Oh my," She said. "I wrap it for you if you want?"
"Yeah, I'd like that," I said. "I'll try to make it fade away, I hope Y/N will be okay."
"What happened to Y/N?"
"That scar he got last year..." I said. "Umbridge sent that letter that gave it to him."
Luna looked terrified. "Is he going to be okay, Lana? I'm really worried for him."
"I hope he will, Lu," I said as I pecked the top of her head. "If not, Hermione, Ron and Harry and us will be there for him."
Y/N POV
"Where were you?" Hermione asked. "I was waiting for you for hours!"
I stayed silent, thinking about what Umbridge did to me, now and then. Those words she said... really struck me in my soul.
"It is a reminder that you don't deserve what you have now."
"Remember that you will always be a monster."
"Y/N!" Hermione said. "Earth to Y/N!" But I still stayed silent. "Y/N Ronan Lovegood, say something or --" At that moment, my eyes flooded with tears as the thoughts finally reached my mind. Hermione had seen my tears and her face softened. "Is everything okay?" She asked as I shook my head and covered my hand.
She took me to the couch as we both sat down. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"Umbridge," I croaked out. "That sick, vile, cruel woman made me write this into my skin."
I showed her my hand, now bleeding with that demeaning sentence on my hand as Hermione gasped.
"She made you do this to yourself?" She asked.
"Not just me," I said. "She made Harry and Lana do the same. And that's not all."
I took a deep breath and rolled my sleeve, revealing 'Monster' on my arm. "She's the one who did this too," I said. "She sent that letter."
Hermione's face turned to an angry expression. "That old hag! I swear to Merlin I will-"
"She said I don't deserve anything," I said. "I don't deserve you."
Hermione's face softened again as she turned me to face her.
"She's wrong," She said. "She's dead wrong. You do deserve me, in fact, you deserve the world! And I love you with all my heart and I always will. I want you to be with me for the rest of my life, as my boyfriend now, my husband and the father to our children in the future. And she's not going to change a damn f***ing thing."
"Hermione..." I said as she kissed me passionately on the lips and wrapped herself on me. "I love you." I said through her kissing me.
"I love you too, babe," She said. "Come on, let's go to your dorm. I'll spend the night with you. And hopefully, let's not stay up snogging too long." She smiled and kissed me again as we entered my dorm. We changed into our pajamas and Hermione replaced her shirt with one of my hoodies. We did end up snogging for an hour and eventually, we fell asleep with Snuffles always sleeping with us.
