25 |The Memories That Makes Him Smile|
She didn't want to let go of him. She didn't want to leave his arms. He was the alone one she KNEW wasn't lying to her.
The way how he was holding her told her that he would be there for her, FOREVER. She felt so comfortable in his arms.
Not once, not twice but three times she has felt that warm, caring feeling when she hugs him.
Was it because he was a broken person like her why they connected?
She didn't know, but whenever she was with him, in his embrace she felt at peace.
Soham was still rubbing her back, though she had calm down.
"Beta." She heard her father's soft, gentle voice boom from the entrance of the living room.
Sanyukta slowly looked up to face him after an hour of crying.
"I am sorry beta. Please forgive me. If you leave me I won't have anyone. I love you very much," he told, folding his hands in front of her.
"Dad," she said softly as she got up off of the floor, finally leaving Soham's arms. "I forgive you, and why are you even apologizing. Everything's okay, I'm okay."
Saying that she wiped her tears and smiled at him, sniffling as brushed her clothes off.
"Hug?"
Sanyukta ran and hugged him tightly and smiling widely, Rajveer wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back.
"You're lucky to have such loving parents, I wish I could relate," Soham whispered, stroking her hair
"You guys must get going, you both are getting late."
Sanyukta hugged Rajveer one last time and placed a kiss on his cheek, leaving with Soham who smiling as she made up with her father, wishing that he could do the same with his.

Soham stood there watching Sanyukta as she sat in the garden alone, drinking a cup of coffee.
"Still think about it?" he asked, breaking her chain of thoughts.
"Yeah." She sighed and looked down at her coffee, watching the whipped cream dissolve in it. "Why didn't my real parents come to visit me? Not even once did they come to see how I was doing or if I was okay."
"That reminds me of my parents." Soham walked over to her and sat adjacent to her. "But Sanyukta you were lucky you got Rajveer papa and Antara mom as your parents. They love you so much and I can see that. I'm glad that you accepted and embraced the truth."
She looked at him and saw that he cared about her and the decisions she took.
She felt good inside, really good. He was slowly coming out of his shell because of her.
"I know you must be thinking 'how do I know about all of this as I never got any love from my parents' but I understand. I understand from observation.
We have been married for four months, three weeks, and four days, I notice a lot of things that you don't. By the way, how's the coffee?"
"It's really good. This is my favorite by the way, Belgium."
"Well there's something we have in common. I love Belgium coffee too." He smiled and raised his cup before taking a sip. "It's even better when you sit by the window and rain is cascading down the glass." He groaned at the delight yet bitter taste explored every corner of his mouth.
"Urmi has magic in her hand I must say," Sanyukta spoke and he nodded in agreement. "We should do this more often, you know."
"Do what?" he asked.
"Sit in the garden, drink coffee and talk, about anything, but just talk. I got a smile out of you who knows what else I can get. A laugh? A joke?"
"Well, I guess you keeping company wouldn't hurt. You're crazy and your craziness can help to get my mind off work, even if it's for a few minutes," Soham said, joking at the end of his statement.
"I'm not crazy, okay." She slapped him playfully and huffed like a child.
"Didn't I just give you what you want? Me joking?" He smirked seeing her shocked face as she now realized what he did.
"That was very clever Mr. Verma."
"Thank you, thank you very much." Soham took a small bow dramatically, chuckling at the slaps she was throwing his way.

Siya went into the bathroom holding the box of mother's day cards Soham made over the years.
She sat down on the cold, tiled floor and leaned against the door with the box in her lap. As she took up a card, she caressed it with many emotions running through her.
She hated him to the core yet he still loved her. She despised his presence yet he still wanted her around him.
She saw the love in each card he made and invisible, yet VERY visible tear stains on them.
Not once had Aisha ever thought of making her a card for mother's day and each year she waited and waited but got nothing, while the son whom she hated made one for her every year.
'He is the reason why your life was ruined! He was the one who caused all your struggles! Burn the damn box!' her mind yelled and pushing the box away, she got up and composed herself.
"I need to throw these away."

Evening, 7:15 pm
Busy in the study, Soham smelt something weird, as if something was burning.
He got up quickly and went in the direction where the smoke was coming from.
There she was, standing in the kitchen mostly covered in flour, her clothes white as well as her face and her innocent eyes now looking at him.
He was utterly shocked by how she completely caused a disaster in his kitchen, which was triggering his neatness and cleanliness obsession.
But her face, her cute flour-covered face didn't make him roar or yell, instead he chuckled seeing her like that.
"It looks like a pastry shop vomited in here," he spoke walking inside of the kitchen.
"Sorry for the mess, I stress bake. I was trying to make a cake but-" Sanyukta looked around at the mess she made and bit her lip.
"You don't know how to bake don't you?" he asked and she nodded her head. "I will help you."
Noticing the unmixed batter, he went behind her and took her hand, starting to mix the batter.
It was the first time they were in this position. So close, their bodies touching and the one thing affecting her the most, his hot breath fanning on her neck.
It was the first time he was holding her like this like, like a happily married couple romancing in the kitchen as they were alone in the house.
Her small frame was against his broad one and her soft, little hands in his made him feel huge.
After mixing the batter, he used her hands to pour it into the baking pan.
"You set the timer wrong that's why the previous cake got burnt. I will-I mean we will set it correctly this time."
As he talked the more his breath fanned on her neck causing her to shiver.
Not leaving their position, both of them walked over to the oven and tripping over the stool she left in the way, they fell flat on the floor and so did the batter.
"The cake is ruined." She pouted and Soham chuckled. "This is all your fault."
She took up some flour from off the ground and threw it on him.
"You're dead Sanyukta." Soham took up the remaining amount of flour left in the jar and started to throw it at her while she did the same to him.
Running around the kitchen, they played with the flour or more likely, throwing it at each other.
They were white, looking like snowmen but they didn't care especially Soham who wasn't even a bit bothered with the mess he was creating along with her.
It has been a while since he has played like this. He felt that small part of his childhood coming back where he used play like this with his grandfather.
Sanyukta got tired and fell to the floor to take a breath. Her childish side was taking over her but she was glad as Soham was enjoying himself.
She laid down in the flour and started to make snow angels, or in this case, flour angels.
He leaned against the wall, tired as well, and watched her completely act like a small child and he smiled cherishing the moment.
