Different Situations
Hello, I'm back after a slight vacation. I've started having some major writers block on my Bensler stories. Also my cat needed a 1000 dollar surgery. SMH, the things we do for the ones we love.

Elizabeth and Eric were doing great. They got to come home the next day and Elliot spent a day off of work to help her get into the grove of motherhood. Soon, though, she'd have to do it alone. Kathleen and Maureen decided to take turns watching Eric with Eli and EJ. It helped out a lot.
Liv was going to be going on her maternity labor in a week, so that would give Kathleen and Maureen a big break. Then in another month, Elizabeth and Dickie would be a junior in high school. They'd officially have their licenses and a little more freedom. The only thing was that unless Elliot could knock some sense into Alvin, his grandson would grow up without a father.
While he'd have plenty of uncles and such, Elliot wanted him to realize that being a father, even at a young age, is a great thing. He's been a father since he was 17 and he absolutely loves it. He told Liv he'd be a little late coming home that evening. He wanted to drop by Alvin's place to talk to him.
The apartment was a small two bedroom in the lower half of Queens. It seemed odd that a popular senior was from this part of town. The building was run down and the paint on the door was chipped badly. He quickly read the mailboxes and found Alvin's number to be certain. First floor, number 5.
When Elliot knocked on the door, a loud ruckus was heard from the other side. Yelling, which made Elliot go into cop mode. Alvin had a younger brother in middle school that could be a part of that madness inside. When Alvin answered the door, red in the face, a small cut on his cheek, Elliot wanted to explode.
"Mr. Stabler, what are you doing here?" Alvin asked in a worried and curious tone.
He glanced back and quickly shut the door behind him as he stepped into the hall. Momentarily worried about him and his brother, Elliot asked, "Are you okay?"
Alvin furrowed his brow, and avoided his eye. "I'm fine." He looked back at the door with a glare. "I'll be out of here in a couple months anyway," he muttered more to himself.
Elliot didn't believe the young man at all. "What about your brother?"
The boy looked at Elliot and shrugged. "Can't take him with me, can I?"
He walked away from the door and down the hall to the dusty and stained window. Elliot followed, all his anger melted away. He was just a kid that wanted to get away from a terrible situation. This wasn't a young man that wanted to avoid his responsibilities. Elliot sighed and shoved his hands into his pockets and leaned against the wall facing Alvin.
"I was 17 when my ex wife had our first born, Liz's sister Maureen. I joined the military as soon as I could and then when I got back I sighed up for the cops exam. I never got to do what I wanted to do. I also was the youngest. We all got brunt of my dad's anger, though. You can take him with you, you know." Elliot studied Alvin for a long moment. It seemed like he was really listening. "CPS can come in and remove you and your brother from your situation and place you with some distant family or foster family until you turn 18 and can take claim of your brother as guardian."
"Will everyone know?"
Elliot nodded. "Possibly, yeah."
Alvin quickly shook his head. "No, not a chance." He started pacing in the hall for a long moment, very panicked. Elliot watched as Alvin looked at the door to his apartment and give a low shout. "I don't want Peter to stay in this situation for another 7 years, but I also don't want everyone to know that my dad beats me and my brother."
There it was. He guessed that Penny Sr. was abusive, he just needed some confirmation. "You just made an outcry statement. I have to report it. The good news is, it doesn't have to be public."
Alvin objected loudly as Elliot texted Cragen to send CPS and a black and white over. "You and your brother can stay the night at our house and meet your son."
Alvin Penny Sr was arrested for child abuse and possession of illegal substances. Since Alvin was going to be 18 in three months, he and Peter were placed in a temporary foster home in Queens. While Elizabeth and Liv were slightly upset at the fact that Elliot interfered, they were both grateful that Elliot saved a young boy from being further abused.
Alvin seemed awestruck by his son and begged for Elizabeth to take him back. Elliot didn't expect that to happen, but Alvin decided to change his college to Hudson here and help watch Eric so Elizabeth could do well in high school her last two years. Elliot as very glad that he interfered in this situation.
