Episode 10: Space Invader

The Loud Sisters and Leo were all sharing the bathroom getting ready to go to bed.

Leni was brushing her hair with a smile, Luan was flossing until it got caught in her braces.

Luan: Hey, look! I'm at a floss for words! Hahahaha.

Leo chuckled as he was brushing his teeth and gargled mouthwash. Lola and Lana were brushing their teeth, Lily was taking a little bath in the sink, Lori was applying dabs of ointment on her face, Luna was rubbing some purple facial cream while singing.

Luna: ♫ I'm washin' my face, 'cause it makes me feel so beautiful. ♫

Lucy and Lynn were fighting over the toothpaste, and Lisa was jotting down notes.

Leni: I brush my hair exactly fifty times a night to keep it beautiful. 34... 35... 36...

Lori: Hey, Leni, how old was that boy who asked you out?

She asked while applying ointment.

Leni: 16... 17... 18...

Leni miscounted as Lori smirked slyly. Leo however, was taken aback and spat out the mouthwash in a spit take.

Leo: Hold on, hold on, hold on... somebody actually asked Leni out?

Lori: (tease) Yeah, why does that upset you big bro?

Leo: No, not really. More surprised if anything. I mean, no one, and I mean absolutely no one, just comes on up and asks a Loud sister out unless they either know or don't know what they're getting into. I mean, you remember what Bobby had to go through the first time you two started dating.

Lori: Ohhh, right... Well at least he survived.

Lori thought back to the first time she introduced her boyfriend to the Loud family before mumbling under her breath.

Leo: At least he adapted you mean. Unlike the other weak links that you dated and perished before him. Then again, it might have just been just you looking for an advantage in a relationship.

Lori jabbed her shoulder at her brother as they both chuckled. Meanwhile Lynn and Lucy began wrestling for the toothpaste.

Lynn: Hey! I had the toothpaste first!

Lucy: No, I did.

Lynn: Keep your spooky hands off it!

The tomboy scowled. While the girls and Leo were getting ready, Lincoln came in and looked around before snatching the toothpaste out of their hands.

Lincoln: I'll take that.

Lincoln squeezed his hand in-between Leo and Luna to grab the toothpaste.

Lynn: Hey! Learn to share!

Lincoln however, accidentally added the paste to Lily's head without noticing it and handed the tube back to Lynn as he faced the viewers.

Lincoln: Space... The final frontier. As you might imagine, with ten sisters and a brother, space is limited.

He them realizing he didn't get any toothpaste on his brush and so he scooped the toothpaste off Lily's head with his toothbrush

Lincoln: Everywhere you go, you gotta deal with crowds.

Lincoln walked out the bathroom as the others kept on with their nightly routine.

Lincoln: (back in his room) But being a boy in this family comes with a perk...

He paused and listened out for any noise, but there was none to be heard.

Lincoln: You hear that? Me neither. While my sisters all have to share bedrooms, I get my own. Sure, it's just a converted linen closet, but it's my own space. And sure, Leo's got the whole attic all to himself. Creepy, but still lucky. Since nothing really creeps him out, besides snakes and spiders. I however love this little space, my own little oasis in the sands of the Loud house, and I wouldn't give it up for the world.

Before he starts brushing his teeth, at that very moment, a loud thud is heard. Lincoln walked out confused and went to Lynn and Lucy's room where he saw the other girls had gathered and were listening. Lynn and Lucy were having a fight.

Lynn: You're always miss gloom and doom! Like, would it kill you to smile once in a while?!

Lucy: It actually would.

Lincoln: What's going on?

Lori: Lucy and Lynn are going at it, again.

Lori rolled her eyes, as the two had been arguing for the last few days now.

Luan: I'd make a joke about fighting, but I can't think of a good punchline. Hahaha! Get it? Get it?

Lisa picked her voice recorder and began to document.

Lisa: Human subjects seem to be proving Charles Darwin correct.

Leni: I can't bear to watch!

She then put cucumber slices over her facial mask.

Leni: That's better.

All of the siblings then ducked as Lynn's jockstrap was thrown over them.

Lori: I'd hate to get in the middle of this one.

Lincoln: I totally agree.

Lincoln said with a chill smile as he walked back to his room away from the scene.

The door in the attic opened and Leo looked down.

Leo: What's going on down there?

He then descended the ladder and came down to his own room, to find out what all the commotion was about as he could hear it from the attic.

Leo: *sigh* They're at it again?

Lori: Yup.

Leo sighed as he pushed through his sisters into the room.

Leo: Alright! Alright! Both of you break it up.

He separated Lucy and Lynn as they glared at each other.

Leo: What happened? What's the issue here?

Lynn: Blame the Duchess of darkness over there.

Lynn pointed her finger at Lucy.

Lynn: She's the one who started complaining. If anything she's the one who could use a break from being so depressing and negative all the time.

Lucy: You think it's easy sharing a room with someone so energetic and obnoxious. She actually used Edwin as a football and my poetry books as a goal post.

Lynn: Only because you kept using my equipment for your pretend funerals! Use a paper doll or something.

They started arguing again.

Leo: Oy vey... QUIET!!

Lloyd shouted, making them stop.

Leo: That's enough. Both of you. Now look, one thing I learned from having roommates is that you guys need to find a way to respect each other's space. If neither of you can do that then you don't need to be sharing a room together.

Lynn: Pfft! Fine by me. I'm sick of staying in the same room as the Crypt-keeper here!

Lynn grabbed her pillow and began leaving.

Lynn: I'm gonna bunk with Lincoln tonight!

Leo could only groan and pinch his nose.

Leo: You know what... I'm way too tired for this. Especially after having to host that kids party today at the arcade. I'll talk with both of you in the morning.

He looked at his goth sister. Who turned away.

Lucy: Tch! Whatever. I'm actually glad to have a room all to myself for once. Good night!

Leo: *sigh* Good night Luce.

Leo just sighed, as he hoped Lincoln could at least hold out until the morning. He closed her door and began walking back up to the attic before he fell asleep.

TIMESKIP

Lloyd was sleeping well, dreaming of racing a speeder bike with Carol holding on tight. Cheering as they weaved through traffic.

Until a sudden shout woke him up.

Leo: Huh? Who? What the?

He opened the ladder and looked down to see Lincoln walking out the bathroom soaked in his pajamas.

Leo: Linc? Wait, let me guess... you slept in the tub?

Lincoln: (deadpanned) Yeah.

Leo: Heh, hadn't done that since Luan stink bombed my room and I needed time for it to air out, and no one would let me bunk with 'em since the smell followed.

Leo reminisced with a slight smile. Speaking of, that's when Luan opened her door.

Luan: Mornin', Lic. Wet's up?

Luan joked with her and Leo sharing a laugh.

Lincoln however, headed right for his room where Lynn walked out

Lynn: What a great night sleep.

She then looked at Lincoln,

Lynn: Whoah! You look terrible. Hey!

Lincoln got behind Lynn and started pushing her out back into her own room.

Lincoln: Thank you for staying at Chateau Lincoln, where we have a one night maximum stay. Thank you.

Just as he planned to go back into his own room... but off in the distance

Lucy: What are you doing here?

Lynn: What am I doing here?

She asked before getting kicked out.

Lucy: Get out!

Lynn: What do you mean get out? Fine, I'll just stay in Lincoln's room again! He's a way cooler roomy, anyway!

Lynn stated as he went back to Lincoln's bed room.

Lincoln: But-

Before he could get a word in, Lynn shut the door.

Lincoln: Come on! Lucy! Please make up with Lynn!

Lucy: I'd rather wear pink.

Lincoln: But-

Again Lincoln wasn't able to get a word in as Lucy shut the door in his face. All he could do was sigh.

TIMESKIP

Later that day before the siblings returned from school, Leo had vacuumed the house of Charles and Cliffs fur, and changed the paper in Walt's cage much to his moms gratitude.

Then when his siblings got back from school, he was looking for the remote for the television until Lincoln approached him.

Lincoln: (flattery) Hey Leo! Big bro! That a new hair style? It looks good! Total outlaw!

Leo: Alright you gave me the honey Linc. Now give me the mace.

Lincoln: Wow, straight to the point Huh? Okay, look can you do me a favor please?

Lincoln asked, giving a sheepish smile.

Leo raised a brow at his little brother.

Leo: Uhhh, that would depend. What is it?

Lincoln: Can you please let Lynn bunk in your room tonight?

Lincoln pleaded with his big brother.

Leo: Why me?

Lincoln: Cause you're the only one out of all our siblings that seems to be able to match her athletically and and in strength, so you can deal with her better a lot then me. Also I really, really, can't go another night with the dutch oven.

Leo thought it over, he didn't really mind sharing a room with Lynn, but remembered how much of a hassle she could be during the night. But then he had a thought.

Leo: Actually I have a better idea. But, you have to try and think of a way to get Lucy to take her back.

Lincoln: Deal!

Lincoln agreed with pause.

Lincoln: So, wait, what's your idea?

TIMESKIP

Leo went up and knocked on Lucy and Lynn's door.

Lucy: Who is it?

Leo: The Sandman. Can I come in?

Lucy: ...Enter!

Leo opened the door and found Lucy reading one of her poetry books. But he could've swore he saw a tennis ball tucked under pillow before she hid it better.

Leo: Hey Luce, how was your day?

Lucy: It was fine. But it could've used more gloom.

Leo: We'll, I guess Mother Nature decided she wanted more sun today. Either way, I came up here to say that you're gonna be bunking with me tonight Luce.

Lucy: Why would I do that? I like having a room to myself.

Leo: Yeah, but Lynn's making it hard for Linc and he asked me to help. He wanted me to house Lynn, but I figured with you I'd have a better chance at getting more sleep than being Lynn's caretaker. Plus remember when you and Lynn first started bunking and you couldn't stand her.

Lucy: How could I not. Those were the most agonizing days of my life. What a time to be alive.

Leo: Right! And you remember what you used to do when you and Lynn had those fights?

Lucy: Yes! I'd come over and spend the night in your room. (Pause) Oh, I see now.

Leo: Exactly. You let Lynn spend the night in here, and I'll let you bunk in my room in the attic. I still have the back corner just the way you left it. You can conjure and communicate with whatever spirits you want... so long as they're not poltergeist or demons or goatman aka Steve. And if you want, I'd be happy to help you with your poetry. Just like old times. So... what says you Luce?

Lucy thought about it. And then remembered the days when Leo wouldn't mind letting her spend the night in his room. Everyone was still a bit unsettled with her love for the gothic and macabre. Except for Leo who didn't seem to mind or be bothered. His openness to her interests and personality made him a confidant and haven for her. Even though she wasn't one to show it openly. He never minded her 'spookiness' as her family described, and Leo always did lend an ear when she needed it. Plus it had been a long while since she and her older brother had done anything together.

Lucy: Sigh! Fine, I'll do it. But I'm not leaving anything of value down here for Lynn to wreck. So I hope you've got plenty of room up in the attic.

Leo: (smirked) I already have your spare coffin set up and waiting. Plus, I finally got that old TV fixed and I found the old VCR player for it. And guess what else I found?

Leo held up a cassette case that had her favorite movie she and Leo would watch all the time.

Lucy: Gasp. The original 1993 copy. It still lives.

Leo: You excited now. Luce?

Lucy: ...A little. I suppose.

Lucy admitted. She began to pack up her important trinkets while Leo waited. When she was done, she went up while Leo went to go fetch Lynn and tell her the news. But he also told Lincoln he had till tomorrow to come up with a plan. Knowing Lucy won't want to stay up in the attic too long.

Lincoln: Thanks Leo, I really mean it.

Leo: As brothers, we often find ourselves needing to be the ones to play peacekeeper with our siblings. Trust me, I know more than anyone can compare.

TIMESKIP

Throughout the night, Lucy and Leo watched their shared favorite film he couldn't help but sing along trying to get Lucy to join in. She didn't, but she didn't stop Leo from trying. It brought her back to her memories when she was six whenever Leo brought out this film every Halloween and Christmas. A tradition they always carried out. Also he helped her work on some of her poetry. She didn't admit it, but it was... nice to have some time with her older brother. As a thanks she decided not to try and conjure spirits, knowing of Leo's reluctance towards Ouija boards and voodoo.

Leo: Can't blame me, I've seen Serpent and the Rainbow, The Exorcist, and The Conjuring enough times to know not to play in black magic Luce. So I'll leave that to you.

As he explained it to her.

The next day came, and Leo found himself needing to go into town to get Lisa some materials for her experiments as well as some strings for Luna to replace the ones she snapped from rocking out.

When he came back, he heard a loud laugh from upstairs to see his sisters had all gathered once more in front of Lynn and Lucy's room.

Leo: *sigh* Oy vey! Not again.

He groaned as he planned on having to break up another fight, however once he peeked over Luan's head he saw Lynn, Lucy, and Lincoln were now throwing meatballs at each other.

Leo: Uhhhh... Did I miss something here?

He whispered to Lisa.

Lisa: They made up, and now they're celebrating with a waste of food.

Leo: Ah, that makes sense.

He said. Happy that they had finally patched things up.

Lori: Well, I'm outskies.

Luan: Yeah. It's way pasta our bedtime. Hahahaha.

She laughed not noticing some eyeballs from her sisters as they headed to their rooms.

Leo: Pfft! Nice one, Luan.

He smiled at his sister, and watched as the food was no longer being thrown around.

Lynn: So, I can move back in?

Lucy: Nothing would make me happier.

Lucy replied with a small smile and suddenly Lynn threw her fist out.

Lynn: Two for flinching.

Lucy however, didn't flinch,

Lynn: Dang... It never works on you.

Leo: When has she ever. Not even I've gotten her flinch once. A gasp yeah, but never a flinch. So, I can safely assume that this was your handy work?

Leo smiled at his little brother with crossed arms as the young boy stood by the doorway with some pasta on him as the sisters shared a hug.

Lincoln: Yeah, after I saw that they missed each other but didn't want to say anything. I figured confronting and speaking for them would get them to move forward.

Leo: Opening the bottle for them. Not bad, Linc.

Lincoln: We'll, it's like you said, Sometimes as brothers we've gotta be the ones to play the peacekeeper for our sisters.

Lincoln said, repeating Leo's own words.

Lucy: We'll, I'm glad we made up, but there's no way we can sleep here tonight.

They broke the hug and they glanced around at the mess in the room.

Lucy & Lynn: Lincoln? Leo?

Both sisters looked at their brothers.

Leo; Dibs not!

Lincoln: Dibs-Ah, Dang it!

Lincoln slumped his shoulders and sighed now that he had to let both of them bunk with him.

Lincoln's room

Lincoln: (to the viewers) Space... the final frontier. Sure, I'm lucky enough to have a room to call my own, but in the Loud House, we all know when we need to share.

Both Lynn and Lucy were sleeping with Lincoln in his room for the night until Leo was done helping clean their room of the mess they made.

Lincoln: But just for one night!

He then slips on his Loco Lincoln mask.

Lincoln: Buenas noches!

The End
