It was Christmas eve, and the house was alight with blue and silver Christmas lights that sparkled and shimmered like stars on a winter night.

"Merry Christmas, darling." my mother said, as she handed me a small package wrapped in blue wrapping paper.

"Thank you, mom." I said, as I took it from her with a smile.

I opened it to find a small blue leather book inside with my name on it.

"Did you buy this for me?" I asked, as I carefully lifted it out of the package.

"No, we found it under the tree waiting for you." father replied, as I opened it then let out a gasp once I saw the picture inside, and a note that read 'Merry Christmas to you and your family'

"Oh my god, look!" I exclaimed, as I showed them the picture of me and my sister taped to the first page.

"What is it?" my father asked, then gasped when he saw the picture.

"Halyn, my dearest it's a picture of Enola!" he exclaimed, as he showed my mother the picture.

"Oh Sami, this is amazing we're getting closer to finding out what happened to our daughter!" my mother sobbed, as she hugged both of us tightly.

"It's a Christmas miracle!" I sobbed, as we continued to smile at each other with new found hope.

"Enola is out there somewhere, and wherever that might be she's trying to contact us." I said, and my parents nodded in agreement.

"You're right dear, we must not give up hope when we are this close to finding her." My mother said, as she and my father smiled at me.

"I plan to ride out tomorrow afternoon to see if I can find any other clues." I said, and my father nodded before looking me directly in the eyes.

"You may go, as long as you promise your mother and I that you will be careful." he said, as he hugged me tightly.

"I will be as careful as a coyote." I said, before giving a yawn.

"I'm going to bed now, goodnight." I said, as I gave them one last hug.

"Goodnight son." my father said, as he and mother made their way toward their own bedroom across the hall from mine.
