Chapter 10- Second times the charm..? (@?£ Multiverse)

Error is confused by all the odd things cropping up in the Code lately and rather annoyed that Nightmare failed at babysitting one kid. He really hopes the second twin is far more competent but his expectations are very low.

@?£ Multiverse

AntiVoid

Error was mumbling to himself while looking through the Codes, his expression growing more grim the more he found and feeling he was in for a large clean up at the end of this. He had no clue how he had missed this entire thing, shivering at what other monster knew Code well enough to cover this up.

His mind went back to Ink briefly mentioning looking into Code a few centuries ago but he had honestly thought that was a simple throw away comment to annoy him, the dread in his SOUL rising when he realised that may not be the case at all.

What else had Ink done without him noticing and how had it effected the Balance?!

He was starting to grow paranoid if these numbers were even showing the true facts of the multiverse or were just a cover Ink made but shook that off as being overly paranoid, knowing it would take more than a few centuries to get good enough to hide that sort of thing from him rather confused what some of these Code edits even meant or what they were for as some looked very strange and weird.

"I really need a break if im thinking like this"

He muttered to himself, feeling that dealing with Ink for so long was stressing him out. Perhaps he could call in that favour with that Destroyer from the next multiverse over to take on his job for a while. He would happily swap jobs with them for years and instead deal with the Creator who was apparently just a dizzy idiot.

So much better then how calculating and terrifying his own counterpart was, very annoyed and somewhat defeated that his Ink was apparently an anomaly in the Omniverse.

The yearly meeting he went to with his other alternates only reinforced that, usually sitting in those meetings and listening in sheer disbelief at how the Error's whined at how 'stupid the Creator was'. He would kill to have such a simple issue, feeling he had to get smarter and faster every year to simply keep up with the feral Creator that kept tracking him down for just doing his damn job.

No matter what Dream said of it 'only being time before they calm down' he didnt believe it one bit, especially considering it had been nearly a millennia at this point and there was no change in Inks behaviour. If anything it seemed to have oddly grown worse, at this point feeling that being dusted might be the best gift he had ever be given.

"Im so tired..."

He sighed deeply to himself, jumping when he heard shuffling behind him and nearly having a SOUL attack at seeing the little goat monster snacking on a chocolate bar while sitting on his beanbag like they had no care in the world.

"Hi, Mr Error!"

"Hello, Aster..."

"I touched something weird and now im here! It was so fun and it felt like i was flying! I love your place? Are we going to play a game?"

He flinched at the far too giddy greeting, eyelights narrowing when he spotted a highly decorated silver cup on the ground, recognising it as something he had trusted Nightmare to keep safe as he hadn't had time to deconstruct it yet.

That would truly be the last time he trusted them with anything like that, kicking the now dead transportation item away and now filled with annoyance that Nightmare had been unable to do one simple task of looking after a child.

It was also unnerving how Aster had snuck on them without him noticing but shouldn't have been surprised considering what he read in the Code.

...although now he had a new issue, knowing it was only time until the biggest pain in his side dropped on his location now that Aster was out in the open again. He sighed in utter exhaustion, unsure what he could even do now that Nightmare had shown their incompetence when his phone suddenly buzzed.

When he pulled it out he noticed it was a message from Dream, a contemplative look forming on his face as he looked between it and the goat child.

Maybe all wasnt lost quite yet..

Dreamtale

"I got here as quickly as i could! Whats the emergency? I haven't heard anything from Ink-"

"Look after this and keep it alive at all costs. Do not lose it. This supersedes even distracting Ink but most importantly dont let anyone else see them!"

Dream spluttered when something white and fluffy was shoved in his face, automatically holding it gently in his arms due to experiencing Ink throwing many random things in his face that were less then safe to do so.

He still had horrific flashbacks to the dung bombs and far more dangerous experiment Ink threw at him to 'make him look at them', thankful Ink had never done that to their more mortal friend. He truly worried how Ink ever became like this, terrified to think what their childhood was like or even worse, if they were just born like that.

He pulled the fluffy thing away, speechless to see what it was and spluttering when Error waved at him without waiting for him to speak.

"I've fortified this AU so no one should be able to tell the two of you are here, as long as no powerful bits of magic are performed. I already have plans to distract Ink when the Balance needs help, so you only need to focus on this. Don't screw this up or we might all wish we died. Only message me if the multiverse is on the verge of collapsing. I'm far too much on my plate right now. Good luck!"

Dream stiffened when they suddenly left, looking back at the child in his arms who was tugging at his clothes in curiosity.

..wait, why did Error call them an it and what was he supposed to do exactly?!

"Hi! Im Aster. Want to be friends? Ive made so many so far but id love to have even more!"

..at least they were friendly, awkwardly smiling at the small child while inwardly cursing how vague the Gods could be and unsure how he ended up in such an odd position on having to deal with them both.

"Hello, Aster. It's nice to meet you. How would you like to play a game with me?"

His smile became lighter and more true as their little tail wagged, thinking they were rather cute and looked easy enough to look after. Especially after basically babysitting Ink for so many years...

He was puzzled about the odd emotions coming off them though, worried if they were sick and even more puzzled by the odd necklace they were wearing. He had many questions for Error and he wouldn't hold back after things were being dumped on him without any warning.

~~~~~~
Other Errors: *Complaining how stupid their counterpart is* Such an idiot! Cant even tie their shoes without help!
Error: *With a dead gaze as he recalls the many horror his own counterpart bestows on his daily, speaking in a haunted tone* Pretty sure mine commits war crimes everyday...
-
Error: *Overworked and trying to think of a new plan to deal with Aster*
*Getting a text from Dream*
Error: *Far more contemplative and feeling slight hope* Lets hope the second twin is less disappointing
-
Error: *Giving a similar ominous warning to Dream and yet again not explaining what is happening* Good luck. Try and not screw up
Dream: *Unaware they are reacting very similar to his twin, holding Aster as if terrified they will break with a slight touch*...they were joking, right?
