Kidnapped
Sophie's perspective:
"She's gone!" Sophie almost screamed as Elwin recounted what had happened in the healing center last night.
He held an ice pack to his head, where they had bashed him in the skull. "I didn't have time to react. When I woke up, her cot was empty."
"I can't believe they haven't given up at this point." Grady paced in front of the couch. "They should've realized by now that she will never join them."
"She's their experiment." Mr. Forkle stood thoughtfully in the corner. "I don't think they'll ever give up on her."
Sophie stood up from her place on the couch. "We have to get her back."
"One step at a time Miss Foster." Forkle placed a calming hand on her shoulder. "We have to find her first."
"Elwin," Grady stopped pacing, "Are you sure you didn't hear or see anything?"
"Unfortunately, no." Elwin removed the ice pack, revealing the sizable gash on his head. "I don't even know how they got on campus."
"They've done it before." Wylie stood in the doorway.
"Wylie." Sophie faced him.
"Forkle hailed me." He explained. "She's my sister too."
Sophie met his gaze and nodded.
Edaline finally spoke up. "And they didn't touch Keefe."
Elwin turned to her. "No, his physical condition was the same as when I left him."
"Which means Gisela wasn't with them." Grady concluded. "She wouldn't have let them leave without her son, coma or not."
"Which leaves one option." Forkle said.
"Vespera." Sophie finished.
A/N
I know, this is a shorter chapter. Some of these first ones will be until we get deeper into the story. So, hang with me.
