mushrooms, roads, and black hoods

I'm using a mix of the theatrical version, extended version, and my own writing to not get copywrited by Peter Jackson or anyone else.

Bold Italics: Black Speech

******************

Ellia's POV:

5 hours. We've gone through a forest, plains, and all through another part of the shire. And Sam kept getting lost or trailing behind. For a gardener, he sure doesn't know his sense of direction. Frodo and I were walking in the cornfields when all of the sudden, we hear a voice.

"This is it."

"This is what?"

"If I take one more step, it'll be the farthest away from home I've ever been."

"Come on, Sam, we're going to waste precious time," Ellia said not looking back.

Frodo wrapped his shoulder around Sam and walked with him.

"Remember what Bilbo used to say? 'It's a dangerous business Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't kick your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off too.'"

3rd POV:

Frodo, Sam, and Ella stopped for lunch in the woods. Ellia was chewing on a piece of bread when she heard voices.

Frodo heard the same thing and addressed Sam.

"Sam! Wood elves!"

The trio ran up a slope and hid between the bushes to see the elves.

"They're leaving."

"Where?"

"The Undying Lands."

"When we get back to camp, you two get some sleep. I'll keep watch." Ellia said.

Ellia watched as the moon turned to the sun and the stars fade into the blue sky. She woke up the hobbits by making a small breakfast and they all walked into the cornfields by noon.

Frodo and Ellia were walking together and Sam trailed behind. As soon as Sam got to the trail where Ellia and Frodo were on, he couldn't find them. Sam panicked.

"Mr. Frodo? Ms. Ellia? Frodo? Frodo!"

Frodo and Ellia walked over to where Sam was and saw him visibly relax.

"You okay, Sam?" Ellia asked.

"I thought I lost you both," Sam said.

Ellia's brows raised in confusion.

"It's just something Gandalf said: 'Don't you lose them, Samwise Gamgee.' and I don't mean to."

"Sam, we are still in the Shire, what could possibly happen?" Frodo asked.

Two people knocked Ellia down to the ground and she jumped up ready to take the people down.

Pippin looked at Frodo. "Frodo! Merry, look! It's Frodo Baggins!"

Merry looked up. "Hello, Frodo!"

"What's going on here?" Frodo asked.

"Here, hold this will you, Sam?" Merry said as he placed some vegetables in Sam's hands.

"You've been into Farmer Maggots crop!" Sam yelled.

All of a sudden, a dog starts barking and a man starts screaming. The hobbits and Ellia start running off in the opposite direction. Ellia reached the edge of a cliff and stopped but the hobbits clashed into her and the quintet all tumbled down onto the rocky road.

"Well, that was close!" Pippin said excitedly.

"I think I've broken something," Merry said before pulling out a carrot for behind his back.

Ellia got tired of it and lost her patience. "GET. OFF. ME!"

All the hobbits immediately leaped off of her and she stood with a fluid motion.

"You two just lost our way to where we need to go!" she scolded Merry and Pippin.

"Well, it was just a detour, a shortcut!" said Merry.

"To what?" Sam said with the same energy as Ellia.

"Mushrooms!" Pippin said as he ran past Ellia and onto the mushroom filled brush.

"I think we should get off the road," Frodo said nervously.

"You're not the only one that thinks that, Frodo. Sam, come on, let's go!" Ellia said.

Sam was about to get up when the wind starting to shift and the sun went out.

"Get off the road. NOW!" Ellia cried picking up the troublesome duo and stuffing them under a tree root. She followed suit with the others and then squeezed herself in between Sam and Frodo.

Bugs started to crawl onto the boys and Ellia's eyes started to turn a faint red as soon as the wraith appeared.

'take the ring... take the ring...'

Frodo POV:

As soon Ellia told everyone to get off the road and shoved all of us under a root, bugs started to crawl onto me, Sam, Merry, and Pippin as I saw Ellia's eyes beginning to glow a faint red. I felt the wraith's presence on top of us and I sensed Ellia tense up more.

'wear the ring... wear the ring...'

Gandalf told me not to, but it's so tempting... maybe for a few seconds...

I suddenly feel a hand on mine, Sam's hand. I snapped out of my trance and Merry hurls mushrooms onto the other side of the road and the wraith disappeared on his horse. I see Ellia suddenly come out of her trance and I see those beautiful vibrant eyes that I've grown to love- yes, I've developed a crush on her.

"What was that?" asked Merry.

Ellia looked at me and I nodded. "We need to get moving," she said before getting up and using a power called telekinesis to get the other three out (me and sam found that out when a big tree was blocking our way a few ways back).

The five of us ran through the thick woods and made sure we were not being followed.

"What's going on?" asked Pippin.

"The black rider was looking for something... or someone... Frodo?" Merry asked.

Ellia ducked into the bushes. "Get down!"

We ducked just in time before the rider appeared in the distance.

"I have to leave the Shire. Sam, Ellia, and I must get to Bree," I said.

"Right. Buckleberry Ferry, this way!" Merry said.

3rd POV:

As soon as the group broke cover, the wraith appeared and started to chase them.

Ellia stopped running and summoned a faint red light from her hands. "You guys go, I'll hold them off then I'll meet you at the ferry!"

"No! Ellia, you'll get hurt!" Frodo said.

"You have the ring, Frodo! It's either we win or they do, now go!"

The hobbits all ran towards the ferry and Ellia formed a bubble around the wraith. The creature kept breaking the bubble and advancing towards the hobbits. Ellia then used the vines to the trees and used her power to wrap them around the horse and the wraith. As soon as she made that they won't move, she sprinted towards the ferry.

The hobbits were urging her on and she ended up leaping 3 feet onto the raft.

"How long is it to Bree?" Ellia asked breathlessly.

"Twenty miles, to the Brandywine bridge!" Merry said nervously.

Frodo looked at Ellia's weakened state and began to worry.

"Ellia, you should get some rest. The water will be protecting us the whole journey."

"I only need ten minutes, then my powers will be fully charged again."

"Well, that's how long the ride will be, so take your rest."

Ellia went to the middle of the raft and laid down. She then closed her eyes and dreamed about her grandfather being tortured by a man in white.
