Into the thick of it
A/N: I'm sorry for the title (No I'm not)
Italics: Singing
Ellia POV:
True to his word, Strider woke us all up at the crack of dawn and have us moving by sunrise. I looked at the sun in awe before catching up with the others. No one said a word before we got into the forest.
"Where are you taking us?" Frodo asked.
"Into the wild," Strider said.
"How do we know this Strider is a friend of Gandalf?" Merry whispered.
"I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer and feel fouler," Frodo whispered.
"He's foul enough," Merry mumbled.
I walked closer to them, and I glared at them. "Be nice. He told me that he is, and he knows something that only Gandalf knows. Just be glad that he's on our side and not theirs." I walk ahead of them and stay a little behind Strider.
"She has a point. We have no choice but to trust him," Frodo said.
"But where is he taking us?" whispered Sam.
"To Rivendell, Master Gamgee. To the house of Elrond, " Strider announced.
I tensed up when he turned around to look at me. He then gave me a slight smile and then extended his hand for me. I walked up next to him before we started walking through the woods again. All while that was happening, I heard Sam say something about seeing elves. When we reached a clearing, Strider stopped in his tracks, and I heard voices behind me. Strider and I turn round simultaneously to see the hobbits about to unpack.
"Gentlemen, we do not stop till nightfall," Strider said.
"What about breakfast?" Pippin asked.
"You've already had it," Strider said.
"We've had one, yes. But what about second breakfast?" Pippin asked before making a smug look.
I facepalmed before I threw my head back and groaned. Strider turned around and started walking away.
I listened to Merry and Pippin talk a little more before I looked up to see an apple tree. I used my telekinesis to toss an apple behind me. I heard someone catch it, so I launched another, but the person was too slow to hit them in the head. I later found out it was Pippin due to him complaining about the small bump on his head.
Nightfall came again after a long walk over a bug-covered marsh and densely covered forest. We rested near a clearing and lit a small fire. Sam, Merry, and Pippin went to sleep as soon as the camp was set and dinner was served. I stayed a little ways from the camp to check around for any enemies. I hear a twig snap, and I turned to my right to see two glowing eyes of a skinny creature. I took out a dagger from my bag and got ready to attack, but the creature was gone by the time I turned around. I felt my eyes change color before the same damn voice that I've heard decided to make its ominous return.
'Protect the ring'
I groaned and put my head in my hands. I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I grabbed my dagger and jumped up from my position. Strider looked at me in concern before he grabbed my non-gripping dagger for dear life-hand.
"You remind me of my friend's mother. She had the same thing you do but in a different hue to the eyes. Since her eyes were green, her powers her the color teal. But yours is a light red, almost pink." he said before watching my eyes go back to their blue color.
He looked at the area surrounding us before sitting down next to the spot where I was sitting. I looked down before sitting in my spot and sheathing my dagger. I took out my phone, headphones, and my Rubix cube to solve as I listened to music. I felt a tap on my shoulder, and I turned around to see Strider curiously looking at the cube. I took an earbud out and paused the music.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"What is that thing you hold in your hand? And what is that magic box, and how does that thing in your ears produce sound?" he asked very curiously.
I cleared my throat before I started explaining. It took a good 30 minutes to explain how the Rubix cube worked, and a phone wasn't a magic box. I then showed Strider the earbuds by placing one in his ear and placing the other in mine. I then played music from Fall Out Boy, Guns and Roses, and AC/DC on Spotify. After a while, he gave me the earbud back, and I cleaned both of them before putting them back in my bag along with my phone and my Rubix cube that I solved halfway through Highway to Hell. By the time I was finished, Strider was already asleep with the others. I took out my bedroll and layed in it before extending my hand out towards the sky. I watched as my powers messed with the stars and making them into animals chasing each other. I dropped my hands and rolled to my side before closing my eyes and slept once again.

Strider POV: (What? Strider's point of view? *GASP*)
I felt something was off about Ellia from the start. Yes, I know her real name. Gandalf told me when he said that she was from New York and sent me to protect her. Tonight, I wanted to know why she was a mystery, so I went and interacted with her to see what I can find. I ended up learning about her world and how it is run on technology, as she called it. I went back into the camp with the others and pretended to fall asleep. I heard shuffling and then a twinkling sound. I opened my eyes to see her playing with the stars. My friend Legolas once told me about his sister and how that used to be the way they bonded. I wonder if she's the missing princess- no, it can't be, can it?

3rd POV:
Strider woke up to see Ellia waking the hobbits before the sun rose. She served the food that was over the fire before sitting over a log with the hobbits to watch the sunrise. Strider grabbed the leftover plate of food before sitting in between Frodo and Ellia. After eating their breakfast, they packed up and started to head out. Strider stopped when some ruins came into view and ushered Ellia to his side.
"These were once the great Watchtower of Amon Sul. We shall rest there for tonight," Strider said before walking ahead.
Ellia and the others followed Strider until they got into a clearing for lunch. Ellia took a picture of the hobbits who had smiles on their faces when they eating. She then opened Youtube and searched for a song that would lighten her mood. She got her earbuds and plugged them in. Halfway through the song, Pippin's curiosity got the best of him and he tapped Ellia's shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Pippin asked as soon as he got Ellia's attention.
"I'm listening to a song." Ellia then got an idea. "Here, have you and Merry listen to this."
She gave him her phone, taught him the basics, and then gave him an excuse to tell Strider so he and Merry could go somewhere alone to listen to it. By the time they had to leave, the trio had a plan to annoy Strider until they got to Weathertop.
When they were almost there, Ellia sent them a mental message, and then they began to sing.
"Into the thick of it!" Merry started.
"Into the thick of it!" Pippin continued.
"Into the thick of it!" Ellia, Merry, and Pippin sang.
"What are you three doing?" Strider asked.
"I taught them a song from my world."
"Ugh."
The trio blew up laughing.
"What?" Strider asked.
"That was the next line!" Ellia wheezed out.
Strider pinched the bridge of his nose and walked away. They wound up getting to Weathertop by nightfall. They reached a small camping area and he told everyone to rest while he was checking his surroundings from the edge of the clearing. He then turned and gave four shortswords to the hobbits. He looked at me before looking at the hobbits and pointed to the swords.
"Keep these swords with you at all times. I'm going to have a closer look, stay here. And no making any fires for heat, I'm sure that Annabeth will make sure that you all are warm."
"I'll make sure we're not seen, I promise," Ellia said before she cast an invisibility charm around and a heat spell to keep them warm. Strider turned around and walked away.
As soon as Strider left, Ellia laid her backpack down and placed her head on top of it. She then wrapped her cloak around her tighter before closing her eyes.
"What are you doing?" Pippin asked.
"The spells that I did require strength, and I used up all my strength walking and making said spells. So I'm going to rest for a bit so I can regain my strength," Ellia grumbled before falling asleep.
A few hours later, Ellia woke up to see her invisible barrier faded and a small fire made the hobbits. Ellia's eyes widened before leaping up and used a puddle next to her to put out the flames.
"Oh, that's just great! Ash and water on my tomatoes!" Pippin yelled.
All of a sudden there were screeching noises.
Ellia looked out from the edge to see the Wraiths on their way towards Weathertop.
She used her telekinesis to fly the hobbits and herself onto the top of the ruin while the hobbits brought out their swords from their belts. The group of four went back to back while Ellia stood in between Sam and Frodo. The Wraiths appeared from the arches and started walking towards the group with their swords drawn. Ellia used her telekinesis to blow the wraiths but it had little effect. She was thrown to the ground from the head Wraith and she watched as they made their way to Frodo. When Wraith was about to stab Frodo when he put on the ring, Ellia froze time for a few moments and started to towards Frodo. By the time went back to normal, Ellia was inches from him watched him get stabbed. Another Wraith stabbed Ellia on her side and the hobbits were at Frodo's side and soon as they heard his cry for help.

Ellia's POV:
For being my first fight without using my weapons, it sucked. I ended up failing to save Frodo and the others and I ended up getting stabbed myself. Great. I tried fighting the Wraith that stabbed me but I felt cold and dizzy so fighting wasn't really such a good option. I fell to the ground... or was I pushed...? I was losing consciousness when I heard a man scream with a sword and a torch. Good, he can fight them off while we rest and wait for Strider.

Strider POV: (AGAIN?)
I saw Ellia fight off the Wraiths as best as he could before being thrown like a ragdoll along with the hobbits. I made my move when I saw Ellia get stabbed and I heard Frodo cry out in pain. I grabbed my torch and I started to fight off the Wraiths. After I fought them, I was about to look at Ellia but Sam yelled to me first. I checked Frodo and I saw that he was stabbed by a Morgul blade. I went back to Ellia who was unconscious. I lifted her shirt to see a deep wound on her side. I quickly wrapped a bandage around her before heading towards Frodo once more.
"He's been stabbed by a Morgul blade. This is beyond my skill to heal. We need to get to Rivendell!" I said lifting Frodo and placing him on my shoulder, and I carried Ellia bridal style down the ruins and began traveling to Rivendell.
After a while, we stopped by three large stone trolls. Sam was trying to comfort the best he could. If I do not heal Frodo or Ellia in time, they will both die. I searched my pack but I couldn't find the herb I needed to heal them both. I turned to the hobbits and I looked at Sam.
"Sam, do you know the plant Athelas?" I asked worriedly.
"Athelas?" Sam asked confused.
"Kingsfoil!" I deadpanned.
"Kingsfoil? Aye, it's a weed!" Sam said even more confused.
"We need it, it will slow the poison. Go, quickly!" I said and Sam sped into the forest. I followed suit a few seconds later only to find some than to have a sword at my neck.
"What is this? A ranger caught off his guard?" the person said. I looked up and I saw my love, Arwen. I cut the Athelas and I led her to Frodo and Ellia. I tried convincing her to stay with the hobbits and Ellia while I take Frodo to Rivendell but the rolls ended up switching. After I saw my love leave, I turned to see blood starting to pool out of the bandages I placed. I ordered the hobbits to find more Athelas before I took a clean shirt from my pack and used it to apply pressure on Ellia's wound.
"I don't know if you can hear me Ellia, but you need to stay with us!" I whispered. 'You need to meet your family!' I thought to myself.
