Mom pulls up in our driveway and she parks the car. Zoe is texting one of her friends so the car is quiet. I'm still reading "The Knife Of Never Letting Go."

"Andy is that a good book? You've been reading it for awhile." Mom says getting my attention.

"Yeah. It is." I tell her before going back to reading.

"Kids were home." Mom says getting our attention.

Zoe and I get out and grab our stuff before heading inside. Dad's still not home. He was supposed to come home yesterday. The house is quite also. Zoe goes up to her room. I go up to mine and set my book bag down. I look and see the picture of Dad on my nightstand. I take it and hug it. I put it back and go back to reading my book. Dustin recommended it to me. It's really good. I hear someone knock on my door. I look over and see Zoe. She walks over and hugs me. I hug back and notice she's crying. I get this sick feeling in my stomach.

"Dad's okay. He got captured but he got out." She tells me as a dog barking can be heard.

Zoe and I walk downstairs. A dog with a service vest is sitting at the table. Dad is sitting there also talking with someone. I can feel my heart skip a beat.

"DAD!!!!!!!!!!" I say and run to him sobbing.

"Hey buddy." He says as he picks me up and hugs me.

I just cry into him. He has his Navy uniform on. It has many of his achievements on it. I touch them and cry. I've missed my dad a lot. He rubs my back as I sob. I can't stop sobbing. Zoe comes over and smile. I notice she has a camera.

" I got the entire thing on video" She says smiling.

Dad sets me down. His friend and the dog left.

"Kids go get changed. We're going out tonight." Dad says.

I run up stairs to get changed. I put on my blue shirt. It has the Navy symbol on the back. On the front it says "I'm a Navy kid because my dad fights for this country." I smile and go down stairs. Zoe has the same shirt on. My dad's shirt is the same except it says "I fought for this country." and Mom's shirt says "I'm a Navy wife because my husband fights for this country". Dads smiles and ruffles my hair.

"Andy's still your little mini me" My mom says with a laugh kissing my forehead.

I laugh and run and grab my book. I want to read it to Dad. I come back down and show him the book.

"The Knife Of Never Letting Go. Will you read it to me?" Dad asks and I nod.

We go out to the car and I get into my seat and buckle up. I pull out my book and start reading. Dad smiles as I read, they all do. I keeping reading until we get to Dad's favorite restaurant. Olive Garden. It's really yummy. We get out and go inside. The smell makes my mouth water. Dad gets us a table and we all go and sit down. Zoe gets a grown-up menu. She looks a lot like mom. I get to sit next to Dad. Zoe and mom sit together.

"What are you going to get to eat Andy?" My dad asks.

"Pasta. I like pasta. Can i have it with that yummy white sauce?" I ask.

" You mean Alfredo sauce Andy?" Mom asks me.

"Yes." I replay.

Our waitress comes to get our drink order. Her name is Jamie. She has blue hair. It's really cool.

"What would you guys like to drink?" Jamie asks us.

"Can I have a sweet tea?" Mom asks.

"I'll have a coke please." Zoe tells Jamie

"I'll have a sprite." I tell her. Dad orders the same thing.

"Okay. Any appetizers?" Jamie asks as she writes our order down.

"Bread sticks and a salad" Dad tells her

Jamie leaves and comes back with salad, bread sticks and our drinks. "Okay. and what would you like to eat?" Jamie asks us.

"Lasagna. Please" Mom says.

"I'll have ravioli please." Zoe says.

"Noddles with Alfredo sauce please." I tell her.

"I'll also have a lasagna" Dad says.

Jamie takes our orders to the kitchen. 20 minuets later she brings our food back and we eat. I end up falling asleep to mom and dad talking.

** AND DONE!!! So what did you think. Also "The Knife of Never Letting Go" Is the book I'm reading rn. and my friend Bambi recommended it. Also if you would like to name a chapter just let me know. I can veto it if I don't like it. My friends and rl with also have a chance.
