Prologue
A black she-cat with ice blue eyes and a white muzzle rushed past multiple trees as she heard the screams and yowls of pain and death. She quickly stopped and sought around for a hiding place as fear took its course in her body. It didn't take long for her to hear the rustling of cats searching for her not far away from where she was standing. She ignored the sharp thorns and splinters of dead wood as she rushed towards a clearing. She stopped as she neared the center of it and realised she had just put a target on herself.
Unfortunately, she realised too late as something swatted her head and she collapsed to the ground as she writhed her legs to get back up. The cat that attacked her swiftly set their paw down on her chest, rendering her immobile.
She could a hear a horrid cackle release from the cats's throat. It slowly went down to a chuckle, and then they spoke. "How unfortunate that you ran off from your dear clan," a gray tom teased. "You could have died in bravery alongside your fellow warriors?"
The black she-cat spat at the horrible tom. "Swiftstar sent me away! He wants my Clan to live on! Nothing you can do will stop that you asshole!"
Soon, cats started to come out of the trees to slowly surround her. The gray tom that stood on top of her shook his head in fake sorrow as he disclosed to the black she-cat. "It appears your Swiftstar failed my dear friend."
The she-cat was just able to move her head far down enough to see the white cat that had attacked Swiftstar. Blood coated their pelt as they purred. "It was a delight to take out their leader and strip him of his remaining lives in a split second."
Horror filled the she-cat's body. She turned back to the gray tom. "You will not get away with this!"
She writhed around again, but the gray tom simply pressed his paw down tighter against her head. Another smirk gave way as the gray tom purred in pure delight, his head going down to her ear to whisper. "I hate to break it to you, but I already have."
In the split-second moment the tom had brought his head down, the she-cat bit down on his left eye and kicked his back legs. The gray tom stumbled down on top of her and she shoved him off. She could have killed him, but she valued Swiftstar's last order to her than die killing the horrid tom. Instead, she ran as far away from them as fast as she could. She needed to find safety from these cats at all costs, and she knew where she could possibly find some.
Not far away, the gray tom bitterly got back up. His entire face was in sheer pain from his eye being bit down on. The cat that killed that cat's leader spoke up and asked. "Should we go after and kill her, Storm?"
Storm looked at his second-in-command. Her eyes were round with concern. "No, Frost," Storm began to smirk as he started to chuckle. "Because I have a feeling she can lead us to other Clans. Just like how a cat lead us to the five right here."
Frost didn't smirk like she usually did. Frost whispered to Storm just low enough as to not alert their conquerors. "But what about the other two Clans that are still holding out against us?"
Storm thought for a second. Frost had a point. After some thinking, Storm turned back to Frost. "We'll leave them be for now. With the amount of destruction that has occurred, there is no way in the world they'd recover quick enough by the time we have returned."
Frost started to give the all-familiar smirk that Storm grew to be familiar with. Storm knew when Frost's smirks were genuine or not. He knew Frost was truly into his new plan.
Storm turned to his fellow conquerors with a vindictive smirk. Glee and excitement filled his body at the idea of wiping at any and all that opposed him. Those that beloved in StarClan. "My brethren, today is a fine day! There is a new prospect that there are more Clans to conquer! We shall leave the two other remaining Clans to fend for themselves! They won't recover fast enough by the time we rid of the other Clans that follow the stars! We shall rule this vast land of which is rightfully ours under the ideals of the Spirits of the River!"
