To the palace of Spades

Matthew woke up to find himself in a small room with a small night stand on the left side of the bed and there was a chair that was also on the left side of the bed as well. Matthew took notice that he didn't have an arrow in his shoulder anymore and that it was bandaged up.

"Oh your up!" a young boys voice spoke up.

Matthew looked at the now open door to see a kid around the age of 10-11 and he has blond messy neat hair with somewhat bushy eyebrows. The kids outfit was a grey shirt, black trousers  and black boots. Matthew raised an eyebrow before giving the child a small wave as he sat up.

The boy walked over to the bed and hoped onto the end of the bed, a grin playing on his lips as he looked at Matthew. The teen looked at the young boy and blinked a few times.

"Uh.. hello?" Matthew awkwardly greeted the child.

"Hi! I'm Peter! What's your name??" Peter chirped happily.

"Matthew.. It is nice to meet you Peter." Matthew said softly getting use to the child.

Peter smiled wider and turned his head and shouted.

"GILBERT!!! MATTHEWS UP!! AND BRING HIS THINGS UP ALONG WITH HIS SHIRT!!" Peter then turned back and smiled.

Matthew blinked for a moment before realising that he didn't in fact have a shirt just his trousers. A blush slowly made it's way onto Matthews fair pale cheeks. Then a man around Matthews age slightly older by two years walked into the room and looked at Matthew.

The teen noticed that the man had white hair, pale skin and ruby red eyes. He wore a black leather jacket, a dark grey shirt, black trousers with knee high black leather boots.

Matthew felt the man, who he guess is Gilbert, study him for a moment before grinning as he walked over to the bed.

"Finally up, I see. Glad you aren't dead kid." he said.

"Ah yeah... I'm glad I'm not dead as well..." Matthew said, chuckling nervously as his arms slowly brought the blanket up to cover his chest.

Gilbert noticed before coughing into his fist before handing Matthew his shirt.

"We washed it and.. tried to patched so your welcome!" Gilbert said.

Matthew looked at the horribly patched up hole. The teen just weakly laughed before putting on his shirt and looked at the noticeable patch.

"So what's a kid like you doing out in the middle of nowhere with an arrow in your shoulder?" Gilbert asked.

Matthew looked down at his hands and bit his lip, trying to hold back tears.

"I was... making my way to the Palace and warn the King of... of..." Matthews voice trembled before trailing off and bowing his head as tears fell from his violet eyes.

Peter looked at Gilbert and the albino nodded, Peter then turned to the distress teen and crawled over and hugged the blond. Matthew flinched before hugging back. Gilbert sighed before placing Matthew's things on the end of his bed and sat on the chair, thinking for a moment before speaking.

"We can take you to the palace so your not alone or so you don't get attacked along the way if you like?"

Matthew looked up a bit and nodded sniffing a bit.

"Yeah.. that would be nice since I lost my horse...." Matthew said.

Gilbert and Peter nodded and Gilbert left to gather somethings for their journey while Peter sat with Matthew trying to cheer him up.

/Time skip\

Matthew had his satchel and cloak, that was also patched horribly, on with his sword resting on his hip. Gilbert and Peter both wore black cloaks and had swords on their hips as well. Peter helped Gilbert attached a wagon to a black horse and climbed into the back of the wagon and both Matthew and Gilbert got into the front.

"Okay we are off to the see the King of Spade! An thankfully that it is a hour ride away!" Gilbert said and whipped the reins and the horse started down the trail.

Matthew made sure to keep his hood up and his head down a bit for the trip, glancing into the trees every once in awhile. Peter noticed this and also noticed that Gilbert wasn't looking at Matthew to see him acting nervous.

So Peter poked the blonds shoulder and smiled when Matthew looked over his shoulder and smiled softly.

"Nervous to meet the King?" Peter asked.

"No... not really... it's just... I-I..." Matthew stuttered before sighing knowing that one way or another Matthew will have to tell the King what happened and he can't do that without bursting into tears.

Matthew took a deep breath and sighed and closed his eyes and started to explain what happened.

"I started my day like everyday and went to work. My Father and I were working on some orders  and my Mother came in around our break with some food... When... Dark Trumps came into our village and started taking children and teens away from families... one of the Dark Trumps was about to take me but my Father lied to them about me being an apprentice from the Kingdom of hearts, we thought they left our shop right after..." Matthew said, trembling a bit.

"But I accidentally let it slip that I was their son and they.... They attacked us and... they told me to warn the King about this and... They.. they... they were killed... I lost my parents..." Matthew was sobbing after telling his two travelling companions.

Peter wrapped his arms around Matthew and Gilbert took the reins into one hand and used his, now free, hand to rub circles into the teens back gently.

"Don't worry we'll keep you safe. The King will keep you and everyone safe!" Peter said.

Gilbert glanced at the two and smiled. A warm feeling filled his chest  making him frown inwardly. Moving his hand away from the teens back and started to lead the horse down the familiar path that leads to the Palace from the back with less market chaos.

The warm feeling vanished right after.

/Somewhere else\

"My King! The royals from the three kingdoms have arrived as planned for the annual ball for the four Kingdoms, your Highness." a Chinese man said.

He wore a traditional Chinese outfit of light blue and silver, black flat shoes and a small black hat. His hair was raven black that was done up in a low ponytail and draped over his right shoulder.

"Thank you Yao. Please sent a servant or a guard to show them to their rooms, and please find Arthur, I need to speak with him before the King of Diamond does." The King said, with great authority.

"Yes King Alfred." Yao said before leaving the room.

Alfred was a young man of age 19 and was a fair and just ruler along side with his Queen, also long time friend, Arthur. The two grew up together in the Kingdoms Orphanage before Alfred took up work in the Palace along with Arthur, who kept a close eye on his friend. When the two found out that Arthur was Queen, King James had tutors teach Arthur everything that he needed to know. Not long after that the King had pasted away and it was Arthur who found out that Alfred was the next King of Spades.

The whole palace was grateful that the King had taken a liking to Alfred and taught him a few things after seeing the boy watch the knights train one evening.

"You wanted to speak to me Alfred?" Arthur's voice snapped the blond King out of his thoughts and smiled at his best friend.

"Yeah, it is about the ball tomorrow. I think that we should have something at the end... something to 'Wow' everyone.." Alfred said.

No matter how many times the King and Queen of Spades host the Ball of the Four Kingdoms, Alfred always gets last minute Ball hosting freak outs and starts doubting himself and always goes to Arthur for comfort. Arthur smiles and walks over to his friend and places a hand on his shoulder and smiles.

"Al, everything is going to be alright. We have planned this Ball together and every year everyone loves it. So you have nothing to fear, nothing to worry about, and nothing to panic over." Arthur said.

Alfred nodded and sighed before grinning again. Arthur inwardly sighed in relief since it usually takes him about ten to twenty minutes to calm the King down from his worry. The doors burst open to the throne room, startling the two friends. The King and Queen looked over to the doors to see Yao rushing up to them slightly pale. Alfred and Arthur looked at him with worry since Yao hardly bursts into a room pale.

"Yao what's wrong?" Arthur asked.

"Is it the guests?" Alfred asked, inwardly panicking.

Yao shook his head and spoke.

"No, the guests are fine." Yao said, the two royals sighed in relief.

"The Jokers are here!" Yao said and Alfred and Arthur paled.

"THEY MUST BE MADE THAT I FORGOT TO INVITE THEM TO THE BALL LAST TIME AND THIS YEAR!!/ Something must be really important if they are coming here!" Alfred and Arthur said at the same time.

Yao and Arthur looked at Alfred and sighed.

"Yao greet the Jokers and bring them to the throne room. We'll talk to them as soon as they arrive." Arthur said.

Yao nodded before leaving the room. Arthur turned to Alfred and then walked to his throne and sat down, Alfred doing the same.

"I wonder why they are here." Alfred said softly.

"I don't know, Alfred. But pray that it is just about the Ball then something bad." Arthur said.

At that moment the doors to the throne room opened.

Hello my little chibi readers!

One thing I have to say about this chapter.

.

.

.

.

.

It is better then the first version! This version is less awkward then the first version! The first version was poorly written and just awkward with zero plot planning... well I am still writing with out a plot but I at least have a reason as to why the other royals are at the Kingdom of Spades!

Also to get some things out there for all of you readers about our two royals of the Kingdom of Spades. Alfred and Arthur are not married! They are best friends, brothers if you like, so getting married to each other is weird so they rule as friends/family. I am sorry to all you USUK shippers out there.... unless if this counts as USUK.... Idk.

Anyway...

I hope that you all like this chapter it is slightly longer then the last but anyway.

See ya in the next chapter!

Peace!
