A New Home
Just then the door was thrown open and Evangeline stood in the doorway of the cart. "Oh hello sister dearest, it hasn't been long enough since I've seen you." Harry greeted cheerfully and the other Snakes smirked at her.
"I heard you were going back to the muggles," She said mockingly, "Has it finally sunk in you did not want?" Harry raised an eyebrow at her.
"I don't know if I should be mocking or pitying you," Harry said slowly, and she flushed.
"You're the one who needs pity," She spat and Harry shook his head.
"Look Evangeline, I don't know where you've been, but I'm going to Godric's Hollow for the holidays. You know, one of the houses owned by our father?"
"Daddy told me you're going to the muggles; you're lying." She sneered and Harry laughed at that.
"Did daddy also tell you I am now the Heir, and I am going to be staying?"
She looked shocked at that. "What?"
"I suppose congratulations are in order; you are now the second best; goodbye." Harry sent a wave of magic pushing her back and shut the door.
"You yourself are the heir to the Potter name?" Theo said and Harry nodded.
"Yeah, the documents are filled out and everything since I am no longer dead, the name isn't the only thing." Harry explained. They spent the rest of the journey talking about anything, the twins popped in when they were nearly back in London to say their goodbyes.
"I'll owl you," Harry said to them. "Come on then, let's head out." Harry turned to Draco.
"Have fun in France and don't forget my letters." Harry said to him.
"I won't, and if anything happens while I'm away I want to know straight away."
"Of course," Harry agreed, "See you Theo, I'll write and have fun in Germany."
"See you, Harry, good luck if I don't see you."
Harry grinned, he looked for Blaise, but the Italian had already disappeared.
"I'm ready now," James held out his arm and Harry was apparated away.
They landed in the front lawn Evangeline already ran into her room being grounded for what she did and nothing else to do. Harry and James went to the kitchen to start at dinner. In the middle of getting the dinner ready Spero made her presence known by demanding a rat.
"You are getting very lazy" Harry muttered as he conjured a rat for her and watched her fall back to sleep. Then he realized he never went down to see if Aphilia was still alive. Sal mentioned she would be in his chamber he created.
"How was the train?" James asked his son who shrugged.
"S'alright I guess, Evangeline paid a visit."
"What did she want?" Harry smirked.
"Seems she hasn't been informed on what happened after Dumbledore called us in, she was under the impression I was going back to the muggles." Harry told him and James gave a sad smile. Remembering what his son told him when he was young.
"I am sure you put her right," He said, and Harry looked at him indignantly.
"What sort of person would I be if I didn't?" Harry gasped and James rolled his eyes.
"Well she is your sister and it's a work in progress with her. Come on then, let's set the table Sirius and Remus will be here soon." Harry turned to get the plates and together as father and son.
"Now thats all set let's go to the lounge to go over the rules." James said pausing in shock at those words, "I never thought I would be able to say that." Harry laughed at that.
Harry took a seat in a chair and James relaxed back.
"So there are only a few rules." He began, "Around the Cottage and the ground, you can go anywhere except my room and study, unless you have permission. All meals are eaten at the table, but you can get snacks in your room if you want. If you are going anywhere, let me know first and I doubt there will be a problem with you going."
"They're reasonable enough," Harry agreed.
"Now, as to your grounding," Harry huffed at that.
"You're sticking to that?" He complained.
"Yes, you put yourself in danger, stole a rare magical artifact and then dumped the Dark Lord on me. You completely deserve it."
"Well when you put it like that it sounds a lot worse than it was." Harry muttered.
"Yes well, you are grounded for a week; meaning no flying, no leaving, the manor and no having friends over or writing to them."
"Fine," He sighed,
"Now, let's go to the dining room and eat, I'm starving. I do believe Padfoot beat us to the food." James said with a grin. Harry rolled his eyes and followed him out.
Moony was already there and Harry smiled at the wolf.
"Hey uncle Moony,"
"Hello, cub,"
"Did Dumbledore have anything to say?" Sirius asked his friend.
"No, I was under the impression he was happy to see me go. I did however catch an interesting conversation between someone and the Headmaster." Remus told them.
"Oh?"
"Yes, it seems that Dumbledore is planning something and knows exactly who Lord Marvolo Slytherin-Le Fey is and he is not happy about it. Also what that means for them because Majority vote now easily falls to the dark with Malfoy, Nott as the top Lords already. The light has Potter, for now, Longbottom, Bones as their lead runners and the other houses are at a near equal divide and we usually rely on the neutral houses to tip the vote. Now, the only way the light will win a vote we do not want passed is if most of the neutrals vote in their favour." Remus said and Harry smirked. "He is freaking out about losing Potters vote due to Harry."
"I doubt Dumbledore will work out how Marvolo returned, and the votes will only continue to go in our favour." Harry pointed out.
"Yes, you hold the rest of the Founders seats do you not?"
"And the Seat of Emrys, the only one to match the Seat of Le Fey. The one that usually is seen as light but will be firmly with the dark. I am sorry father but I can't work with Dumbledore after what he did."
All adults nodded knowing being the only three ones beside Harry that know what happened.
"So we can pretty much rule the Wizengamot as soon as you take your seats." Harry finished as Evangeline came in and sat down for dinner.
It was a small talk awkward dinner with Evangeline. She stayed with short answers but whenever it went to Harry she would start taking over, Harry could barely get a word in edgewise.
They ate dinner and went to the top lounge to relax once Evangeline stormed up stairs, they were discussing the ministry and other things.
"Yes, I would get the rest but because they are Founders seats. I have to sit in them myself which is an unfortunate set back, but we only have to wait until the summer of fourth year. Then goodbye Dumbledore from the Chief Warlock position and good bye Fudge from the Minister's spot."
"Umbridge can also leave," Sirius put in.
"The werewolf hater? Damn straight she can leave."
"Language," both James and Remus chided and Harry rolled his eyes.
James put in his thoughts and continued some future plans until Harry claimed exhaustion and went to his bedroom. He was surprised to see all of his things perfectly unpacked and his pyjamas laid out for him.
"I love house elves." Harry said to himself; he changed and went to bed with a smile on his face excited for a wonderful summer with his family.
*And that is the end of the first year; the Summer chapter will be ready soon. Hopefully in about a week. I do apologize for being behind. I found a new story that I couldn't put down. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for the reads!*
