Chapter Four

Anthony Thames

"It has been five days! I cannot take to wait another day anymore!" I heard him complained as I shifted to my side.

It has been happening again. I cannot control it. My desire to do something that isn't right has come back.

I shifted my gaze to the landscape painting of the sea which I bought from some store somewhere in town. I have trouble remembering things lately.

That painting always calms my senses. It has something in it that makes me relax.

It's like a sedative that soothes my inner being.

But suddenly, my head throbbed in pain.

I don't know if it is the effect of the alcohol that I have drunk last night when I decided to just enjoy without having to set the alarm for the next day.

At that moment, I just wanted to be free.

To be just me.

I closed my eyes when my head ached again and I groaned in response.

And I presume, it must be happening again. I know it.

It is indeed happening.

3rd Person's POV

A man stood behind the tree and watched in fascination as a guy take a leak near a stream. Obviously, the guy was drunk and can barely walk.

The man's eyes widened when the guy struggled with zipping up his pants. He saw the guy let out a giggle until he finally closed his pants and swayed towards a convenience store.

"S-somevudy g-ive me some booze!" The guy yelled and the man followed him behind, not tearing his eyes from him.

The guy is oblivious to his surroundings and to the fact that he was being followed.

He has no idea that anytime soon, he will soon be found in a morgue.

Meanwhile, in the Mental Facility where Eva is at...

"Hello, is Patient 259 finished with her medicine?" A young doctor asked giving a smile to one of the nurses in the station.

The nurse's jaw dropped open when she met his eyes. It was bright shade of blue. The ones that will make every woman fall for.

"Uh, yes.. I mean, no." Nurse Stella, as shown in her name tag, stammered being fidgety in her chair.

"I am on the rounds, can you give me her medicine? I will be checking on her too." The young male doctor added, his piercing blue eyes still on hers.

She nodded and tore her eyes away from him as she busied herself with preparing the medicines for the patients located at the second floor.
Once done, she placed it on separate plastics with the patients' identification and handed the medicine tray to the doctor.

"Thank you, Nurse Stella." He grinned and winked at her before taking the medicine tray and leaving her still astounded.

Minutes later, her nurse companion, Tricia Stevens, sat beside her sighing with exhaustion.

"Oh. My. Gosh! Have you met the new doctor?" Nurse Stella squealed when she made sure that the doctor has totally left the floor.

Nurse Tricia frowned and looked at her quizzically, "new doctor? We have one? How come?"

Nurse Stella rested her chin on her clenched fist and stared dreamily on the stairs where the doctor has gone to.

"Lucky me! I was able to talk to him before he do his rounds! He was such a Greek God! And, oh my goodness, you should have seen his smile!" Nurse Stella blabbered on and on about the new doctor. "He has this perfect set of teeth! He should have been in a toothpaste commercial!"

Nurse Tricia rolled her eyes and yawned. "We really should have another doctor. The previous one never returned after doing his duty for a month. The patients are pitiful. They should be given proper attention."

"Why are you so serious? You really should have a life! A love life, should I say!" Nurse Stella shook her head at her friend. Suddenly, her stomach growled in response. "I'll be going out to find us some food. What do you want? It's already past nine."

Nurse Tricia paused for a while and said, "a ramen, coke in can, and some brownies will do. Here's some cash. Thanks, Stell!" She grinned and handed her her money. But the latter shook her head.

"It's on me. No fuss, Trish." Nurse Stella winked at her and waved. "Gotta run! Don't want to get caught in the rain! Later, girl!"

"Geez. She didn't even brought the umbrella with her." Nurse Tricia mumbled as she stared at the pink umbrella just resting beside the door.

She kept herself busy with the logbook and encoding the patients' daily report. She wasn't able to notice the time until her stomach complained.

Nurse Tricia looked at their wall clock and saw that it's almost midnight.

Nurse Stella indeed has not returned yet. And she is starving.

She was torn between following her friend outside and staying because no one will be left in the station.

Until, she heard a scream.
