3 Weeks Later

Lucy's  (POV)

"And your sure?" Natsu asked.

"Yup."

"For certain?" He asked.

"Uh-huh." I mumbled.

"Lucy..." Natsu nudged me under the covers.

"Natsu... Please don't make me raise this child alone." I groaned.

"What do you mean?!" Natsu asked shocked as he shuffled around in the bed.

"What I meant is, mama dragon is tired. Poke her one more time and this child becomes fatherless." I groaned snuggling into the warm covers.

"I'm sorry it's just..." Natsu trailed off.

I let out a sigh. "Natsu, I know how you feel. Rest assured, I am a hundred percent healthy."

"Can we go get you checked still... Please?" He asked nuzzling his nose against the back of my neck.

"Okay... Now shut up or I'll Lucy kick you so hard you'll end up in the spirit world." I slowly began dosing off.

"Yes dear." Natsu said wrapping his arms around my stomach.

Natsu's  (POV)

Lucy went back to sleep. I however, found it impossible to rest. I'm a father.

And being a father only means that I need to get stronger.

I laid still holding Lucy in my arms. Occasionally she would shuffle but other than that she was very still.

She's so beautiful... Sometimes I just want to cry about how lucky I am that she's all mine.

Lucy yawned then she stretched.

"Well look who's finally waking up." I teased.

Lucy turned and gave me the 'Fuck off' look.

"Good morning my sweet wife." I say gleefully as I kissed her forehead.

Lucy groaned then she swiftly stood up and ran for the bathroom. I heard her gagging.

"You okay in there?" I asked after I heard less gagging.

"Yeah real peachy." She replied.

"Need anything?" I asked getting out of bed.

"Yeah a time machine. To go back to the past and tell myself to not have sex." She commented.

"Well that's not nice." I said back.

All of a sudden my stomach began to hurt.
Our link applies, even to pregnancy. But I never told Lucy about it. I've tried to keep my distance.

Usually when Lucy has her morning sickness I start to feel pain in my abdomen. Just a week ago it started getting worse.

I've been wearing shirts recently to cover my bruised and discolored stomach.

"Hey Luce I... I'm gonna go for a walk." Just as I was about to leave I felt her grip my wrist.

"Oh no you don't. Natsu I can see through your wall. I've noticed for a while now." She said with a sigh.

"I don't understand."

"Natsu come on." She looked straight into my eyes.

"Lucy I... Really what..."

"So how do you you like that hole?" She asked.

"Huh? What hole?" I asked slightly puzzled.

"That hole your digging." She answered.

"Is it really that obvious?" I asked alittle ashamed that she caught me.

"Yeah... Come on Natsu give me alittle credit. I think I know when your disgusted." She said.

'Wait what?' I thought.

"Natsu morning sickness is normal for pregnant women. What are you going to do... Go on 'walks' every time I throw up." She said quoting the word 'walks' with her fingers.

'So that's what she thinks... Good she doesn't need to know anyway. I don't want her to worry. I'll just play along.'

"You got me. I'm sorry... It's just you sound..." I trailed off trying to act convincingly.

"Yeah but guess what... It's partially your fault so, deal with it." She said hands on her hips.

"Okay Luce. I'm sorry..."

"Don't apologize. It's fine, really... All that I'm going through and going to go through... Is for our baby. No regrets." She smiled.

I leaned down towards her but she pushed me away.

"Hey, wha..."

"I just got done throwing up! Natsu, sometimes I wonder if that head of yours is empty." She teased.

"I don't mind it." I smirked.

"Ew gross." She cringed.

"I'll make us some lunch. You just... Do what you do."

"What happened to breakfast?" She asked.

"You slept through it."

"And it was completely needed. After all mamma dragon needs her rest." Lucy stated.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"What's so funny?" Lucy pouted.

"It's nothing... Mama dragon." I teased.

"Hey, I like it." She said walking towards me.

She wrapped her arms around me and I couldn't help but wince. My stomach still hurt.

"Okay... I felt that. What's wrong?" She asked dropping her arms.

"Nothing, it's all good." I said nervously scratching the back of my neck.

"Oh really, lift up your shirt." She started to pull up my shirt but my instinct was to pull it back down.

"Natsu let me see."

"Really Luce, it's just a stomach ache." I said pushing her hands away.

"Natsu..."

"Lucy just stop..."

*smack*

It was at that moment I realized... I'm an asshole.

"Nat... Why won't you let me see? What are you trying to hide from me? Are... Are you cheating on me... is that why?!" She screamed. Tears began to form in her eyes.

"Don't want me to see the scratches? How could you..."

"What, no! Lucy I never have nor will I ever cheat on you!" I shouted back.

"Prove it let me see." She said.

I dropped my head in defeat.

'Why did I resist in the first place... When I knew for a fact she'd win.'

"Please... Stay calm... Okay." I took a deep breath.

Lucy looked at me with worry.

I pulled my shirt over my head. As a looked back at Lucy her eyes were full of terror and she covered her mouth.

"Natsu..."

Lucy's (POV)

I thought that there was another woman...

I thought he was cheating on me...

I thought that he didn't love me anymore...

"Natsu."

I looked at my husband terrified. His abdomen was heavily bruised and it looked like he was brutally beaten. I cover my mouth in shock.

"What happened to you?" I asked dropping my hand.

"Well... It's hard to explain." He smiled nervously.

"Natsu, is it..." I rubbed my belly at the thought.

His smile disapeared. "Yeah, look Lucy it's fine." He stated reassuringly.

"No its not! All this time I thought you were cheating... Only to find that you... That you were enduring such pain without me even knowing." I cried.

Slowly I reached out and touched his bruised abs. He hissed at the slight touch.

"All this time I've complained about my morning sickness and you've kept silent. I'm such a bitch. How could I not realize." I cried more and more.

"Hey stop crying. It isn't good for the baby." Natsu said rubbing my stomach.

"How can I not cry? How can I not cry, when your going through..." I choked alittle.

"It's going to be fine. In fact I'm glad this is how it is. I feel that it's only fitting for us to go through this together." He said with a smile.

"Natsu I love you, forgive me..."

"There's nothing to forgive. I'll admit I did a terrible job hiding it if you thought I was cheating." He chuckled.

"Natsu remember, what you said to me when you found out I was pregnant?" I asked.

"Yeah, why? You got something you want to say?" He asked with a hint of curiosity.

"Yeah, the same goes for you."

"Understood. Go clean up. I'm gonna go make lunch." Natsu said with a sweet familiar smile.

"Okay."

"Oh one more thing..."

"Hmmm?"

"Don't think I haven't noticed that you've been spitting out your vegetables after every meal. I've let it go before but now, since you know about my secret it's time you try to feed our kid some greens." He stated with his arms crossed.

"But why? Daddy's so mean, making us eat veggies." I pouted rubbing my slightly flat two month belly.

"Don't make me the villain. I enjoy eating my greens therefore the hate for vegetables has gotta come from her mom." Natsu commented.

"Her?"

"We'll I..." Natsu smiled.

"What makes you think it'll be a girl?" I asked alittle curious.

"Father's intuition." He smirked.

"Do you want a girl?" I asked alittle shocked.

"Well I mean... If she takes after you, then yes. But I wouldn't mind a boy... Don't listen to me I'm just being stupid." He studdered.

"No, it's just... I want a girl too. But I want her to be more like you." I said back.

"That's sweet but let's face it... You wouldn't be able to handle the both of us." He smirked.

"Your right... But even so." I gently hugged Natsu.

"I love you." He leaned down and pecked me on the lips.

"Love you too."

"Love you more."

"Love you too." He said bending down and kissing my stomach.

'I'm living a positively perfect life... With an amazing husband and soon our amazing child.'
