Chapter 16 - And You, Are The Long Lost Mafia Prince

~~

Rayver POV

A lot can happen in two weeks.

And by a lot, I mean a lot.

Some of them were Blair's sudden disappearance. And surprisingly, the rest of the King's group was absent a whole week after the whole pool fiasco.

And speaking of the pool fiasco, to my utter shock, not a single video of my moment of embarrassment was on the internet.

It's like they all vanished.

One more thing, when I woke up, on the couch was a box. And inside it was a new pair of glasses that looked incredibly expensive.

My first thought was that it was from Mr Luciano, but when I came to him to thank him for it, he asked me instead where I got it.

I quickly stuttered a lie in answer.

I didn't mean to lie, but I was too shocked to think about what I was doing.

My second thought was that it was...

I don't even want to go there.

She doesn't even look in my direction anymore. And when we were in the same room, she would do whatever she needs to do quickly to get away from me.

Like, what did I do?!

Exist.

Fu- You're still here?!

Of course! It's my purpose to keep his self-esteem at its lowest.

Oh, God... I'm not commenting on that.

And, yeah... The voices are still there, but every day, they're getting clearer and clearer.

A few weeks left before I finally get whose voices they belong.

Also, lucky for me, Jordan didn't whose house I got dropped at, and the other girls were drunk dead.

Now, here I was, at the mansion. It's currently a Saturday, and all of my friends had plans, so I was stuck to staying at the house.

Not only that, but I was bored out of my mind that I started randomly walking around the place.

As I was walking in a corridor that didn't have any guards —I still haven't gotten used to them, by the way— I heard some voices from a slightly open door.

I know what you're planning, and don't do it.

Knowing from experience that I should listen to the female voice, I really should've just walked away.

But me being the curious person I am, I sneaked near the door and planted myself flat on the wall beside it.

I know this isn't the time, but wow. You're eavesdropping. I think this is an improvement.

"Are... Ready for... Later?"

"... Should be... No problems detected..."

"... Safe?"

"Of... The shipping... Than later..."

I perked up.

Shipping?

What?

Do their company even have shippings?

I mean, I'm not an expert on the RL Corporation, but I'm pretty sure that they don't do any shipping.

I tuned in back.

"... Sure... Personally tend... It?"

"Yes... Taking my... Kia Stinger..."

They started talking in Italian after that.

As quiet and sneakily as I can, I went to my room and changed into a hoodie and jeans. Then, I crept to the garage and looked for the car Ina was going to ride.

You don't even know what car that is.

Oh, yeah... How will I know which one is which??

You have a phone. Your phone is connected to the internet. What do you think you should do?

...

...

Do you know what she means?

No idea, whatsoever.

What a bunch of idiots... Google it!

Ah, yes, yes!

I took out my phone and hurriedly typed the car I heard in. My speed caused the spelling to be wrong, but thankfully, auto-correct has been invented.

So the car I'm going in is... The red one with four seats.

Looks like I just found a good hiding spot. If I'm calling the floor of a car a good hiding spot.

I can only pray and hope that she won't be checking the back.

I open the car which was surprisingly unlocked, and got in. Another plus was a big black cloth that was the same colour as the floor.

I could hide easier!

It's like the universe is telling me to continue what I'm doing.

Good thing I'm not the universe. Because I am still intent on stopping you.

Blatantly ignoring her, I climb in and make myself less visible as possible by lying as flat as my body could.

Then, I wait.

~~

Don't breathe. Don't breathe. Don't breathe. Don't breathe...

Again, why is he stopping his breath?

Unfortunately, you can't die by holding your breath, so it's not suicide.

Then... What the fuck is he doing?

He thinks that if he breathes, Regina will hear him.

Huh...

What an idiot.

I know, right?!

None of you are helping!

Didn't plan on it.

Don't really want to.

Ugh.

So, Regina had gotten in a while ago, and we've been driving in utter silence since then.

Thankfully, she hadn't noticed the slight lump on the backseat floor of her car, so I'm safe.

Don't jinx it.

Then, a phone rings.

Not to say that I told you so, but...

Oh no... Am I caught? Is she gonna get mad? Oh, who am I kidding? She is going to be livid! I have to prepare my funera--

"Hello?"

Wait. What?

That wasn't my phone?

Darn it.

"Regina, have you seen Rayver?" Came Mr Luciano's voice on the other side.

"I'm on my way to somewhere. Do you think that I would know where the fuck that debole is?" {weakling}

"Yes, of course, I am aware that you're going somewhere, but have you seen him before you got out of the house? I've tried calling him but it always said that his phone was off."

Wait, my phone is off??

I try to discreetly check my phone and press the power button, but it remains a black screen. I guess the power is dead.

"And I care, why?" I heard her spit venomously.

A sigh came from the other side, "Regina--"

"You know what, Padre? Don't bother answering that." With that, a beep sounds, making me realize that she hung up on him.

What did she mean by that? Did she not care if I was gone?

Oh, no. I bet she cares. In fact, she would care a lot when you're gone. So many that she would throw a party!

No, she's very worried. I know for a fact that she is brainstorming ideas on how to find you without her needing to do it herself.

Bah! Lies! Regina doesn't care if you're alive or dead. She. Doesn't. Care. About. You.

The female voice kept on giving an argument, but I was in too deep at what the other vice had taunted me with.

And the 'what ifs' came next.

What if he's right? What if she would rather me gone? What if it would be best if I leave? What if I would just... Die?

My mind became so crowded with these thoughts that I didn't realize when she had stopped the car.

My mind only let me go once I heard the sound of a car door slamming shut.

I waited for a good five minutes before hesitantly pulling the black cloth off of me, and slowly lifting my body.

I peeked out the window to see Reg's body entering a warehouse at the side of a pier where a ship was docked.

The people who were guarding the place had their bodies opposite my direction, so if I do things carefully, I might be able to get past them.

As quiet as a mouse, I opened the door and exited, cringing as I heard the lock's sound.

I hastily turned my head to see if anyone heard, but thankfully, no one did.

I sneaked into the open door that Ina entered, noticing that this was the back door.

Why would she use the back and not the front?

The door didn't have a knob, so I just pushed it open, unfortunately making a sound.

I froze, waiting for someone to come out and catch me, but no one did. In fact, the inside sounded noisier, that I doubt anyone even noticed my entrance.

I feel like Shrek when he entered the warehouse in the second movie.

Or was it the third...

Shaking my head to get all unnecessary thoughts aside, I looked around and noticed that everyone was far too busy to see me.

Sounds of heels clicking on the metal floor made me look up, and there I saw Regina, going down the metal stairs, someone following behind her close enough.

The guy looked familiar... Wait... Isn't that one of Ina's friends? The one that called me to take me to her two weeks ago?

"What is he doing here?" I murmured to myself, confusion flowing through me.

I looked back at where I was and looked thoughtfully at the boxes that were being carried here and there.

What were they shipping?

Regina then went to the middle of the warehouse, simply looking around at the people with her usual glare on her face.

Come to think of it, I've never seen her smile for once. Even a smirk never seems to climb her mouth.

It's like there's a mountain of feelings, inside an emotionless person.

Suddenly, she starts calling out random Italian words that I had no idea what they meant.

Mere seconds later, all of her friends from school had gotten to her side.

I felt a spooked look come into my face, along with all the questions as to what they were doing here with her.

This has got to be more than the RL Corporation.

I get in and hide behind a wall that seemed unnoticed. There were even cobwebs and spiders. Well, good thing I'm not afraid of insects.

Suddenly, I hear a loud bang resonate through the place, making me flinch and my eyes widen in alarm.

I take a peek at Regina and see that she's wearing a deep scowl.

Then, multiple sounds like the first one rang around, causing me to freeze in my tracks and watch the horrifying scene.

Bodies dropped here and there, blood oozing everywhere, and screams of people pounded against my ears.

I looked at Regina, excepting her to get ready to leave, but I saw something that shocked me even more.

She pulled out a gun from her waistband.

And I swear I almost fainted.

To add to my terror, I see that not only did she have a gun, but all her friends had one in their hands.

Some of them even had two.

The deafening sounds of what I now realized are guns echoed in the warehouse, each bullet finding its target more than not.

And then there I was, stuck frozen. I mentally scolded my body for being stiffened and refusing to cooperate.

Then through the open front doors, in came a guy, a gun in his hands, shooting everyone that tried to get near him.

But what stuck out to me about him were two things. His familiarity, and his blue hair.

If I'm not wrong... He's a part of the King's group.

And... Blair's brother.

Now his name... That's where I blanked out. I have no memory as to what his name is.

I watched as he neared Ina, who was also staring at him. He then discarded the gun he was holding, which Ina did as well.

They stalked each other, and when they were near, Blake did the first move by punching Regina.

I watched with wide eyes, waiting for her to get hit, but she thankfully dodged it. The two were fighting like a blur, the only way I could get who was through the guy's hair colour.

Then suddenly, I don't know how I did, but my eyes caught a glint in the boy's hand. My never brain worked quicker than it ever did when it told me what it was.

A knife!

"Regina, look out!" I loudly blurted out of panic and worry.

She whirled to look at where the sound came from, her silver eyes widening to an extent I didn't know possible when she saw me.

Unluckily, though, the guy used her distraction against her and struck the knife to her arm that was covered in a leather jacket.

She grunted at the pain, blood staining the black leather. She put an arm over the wound, glaring dangerously at her enemy.

Focusing back at the matter on hand, she took her hand off and gave him a roundhouse kick to his hand, effectively kicking the dagger off of his hand.

She then grabbed another gun out of know here and trained it on him. The guy was about to do something in return but then froze.

I furrowed my brows in confusion, then I saw that Regina's friend that came with her had a gun that leaned on the blue guy's head.

If someone had told me that he would simply back down, I wouldn't have believed them. But there he was, not moving except for the rise and fall of his chest, glaring daggers at Ina.

"Cosa ne facciamo di lui?" The guy who was holding the gun said in Italian. {What do we do with him?}

Great. I have no idea what they're talking about now.

"Lascialo qui. Ma non dopo alcuni tagli e lividi." She said then glanced at me, "Devo prendermi cura di un certo mio fratello." {Leave him here. But not after a few cuts and bruises. ~ I have to take care of a certain brother of mine.}

Why do I feel like I'm in trouble?

Because you are.

And why do I feel like something worse is gonna happen..?

Because it might.

~~

We drove home in silence, even though I wanted to protest against her driving because of her injury, I held myself.

The thought that she would probably just ignore me kept me back. That, and also maybe because of the gun that was on the dashboard.

It was honestly freaking me out.

I shifted uncomfortably at the memory of the dead bodies that the bullets from this gun killed.

Oh, and add the fact that the person I'm sitting right next to is the one that had pulled the gun's trigger without blinking twice.

Then, as I got out of my shock, it hit me.

My sister had killed somebody.

I then grew dizzy and nauseous, I grabbed the car seat and started taking deep breaths.

I thought like in the movies and novels that I was going to faint, just like the people whenever something big happens.

But, no. Life hates me so much that it didn't allow me to pass out and wake up with no memory of what happened.

No, I stayed awake and fully conscious of what was happening.

Even though I so badly wanted to just black out for a while and forget all of this.

~~

"Rayver! There you are. You had me-- Regina? Wait, why are you both together? È successo qualcosa?" He asked the last part to Regina. {Did something happen?}

Oh, yes. Talk in your code language that I have no idea what the meaning is.

Ten bucks say that he'll get in trouble.

Dude, we don't have any money.

Oh... Right... Well, If I'm correct, I get ten days in his brain, while you're quiet. And if he's not, you get the same thing, but I'll shut up.

You're on.

"You bet something happened, Padre." She answered in English.

I'm taking a wild guess and say that he asked her what happened according to her reply.

"What?" Mr Luciano asked worriedly, then he saw Regina's arm. "Mio Dio! What happened, Regina?" {My God!}

"Someone," She glanced at me, making me look away, "Decided it was wonderful to follow me. I don't even know how he got there!"

I stayed quiet. Waiting for the lashing out.

Instead, I heard a sigh, then he said, "Let's continue this conversation in my office."

Mr Luciano hadn't even finished the last word when Regina started climbing up the stairs.

He followed soon after, with me at his trail.

~~

"Now, can someone please explain thoroughly what happened?" His voice was stern, making his Italian accent more prominent.

They bit turned to look at me, so I admitted to them what I did.

After I relayed my story, they both looked thoughtful for a while, and then Regina was the first to talk.

"We have to tell him." She said in a statement kind of way.

Tell me what?

"No. No, we shouldn't." Came Dad's reply.

God... I called him 'Dad' again.

"Why didn't you tell him about this in the first place?! If you weren't so scared to tell him the truth, we would've prevented this!"

Prevented what?

"I know my fault here, but I was only thinking about what is best! What do you think he's going to feel like when he finds out what we do for a living?!"

Um, yeah I do. You guys have a multi-billionaire company.

"Then let's find out."

"Mia Regina!" Mr Luciano said in a threatening voice, but Ina ignored him. {My Queen!}

Instead, she turned to me and told me something that changed my whole perspective on life.

"We're the Italian Mafia. Padre is the boss, and I'm the heir." She stepped closer to my frozen and shocked figure, and said to me, locking her violet and red eyes to my violet ones,

"And you, are the long lost Mafia prince."

And the last thought on my mind was...

You owe me ten days.

{A/N: Hey Cagna!

And the cat is out of the bag!

Do expect more long chapters whenever I plan to.

It's either for a celebration, or I just have a lot of tea.

So, how's this chapter? Is it good? I'm so nervous and excited.

See ya when I see ya!
