Shen Yu**

It's been a week since Yuan's accident and there is no sign that he will get up any soon. Day after day, I felt defeated whenever I saw him in this state. He still had his tubes and machine to keep him breathing. Every day I went to the hospital to keep him in check. The office is in crumble and the store might be closed. Everyone is not in the mood to laugh. Marco and Zhi always come to visit Yuan. Zhi always cries. Sammy and Ms. Mina visit often because they don't want to see Yuan like this. Sister Xia is the one who keeps Yuan in the hospital. I said I wanna help too but she insisted. She said it's a sister's job so all I need to do is to be with him.

Ren is always beside Yuan whenever I am not around. They didn't press any charges against Hailey which made me mad. But it's their decision so I didn't tell them my opinion.

My grandfather told me to stay strong and be ready for anything that might happen. I know what he says is for me. But I just can't be mad thinking that they wanted him dead or something. Even Mom didn't say anything, she said, " It's my life and she knows that Yuan and strong enough.

Whenever I visit, I cry outside the door. And when it's time to enter I wipe my tears and smile to greet him. He doesn't want me to be sad and I don't want him to worry about it.

"Yuan! I got a watermelon! I found it in the market. I just remember the time we met in the streets when you saved me from killing myself."

I recall all of that when I saw the watermelon. At that time I shouted at him. But he let me barge into his life. He even let me eat that day and that food, was really delicious.

I almost cry when I think of those days. I held his hands and whispered, "Please Yuan, you need to wake up now. ".

Then A familiar face enters the room. It's Hailey. I can't look at her, she makes my blood boil out of anger.

"I brought some books that Yuan might love, please read them to him." She said.

I look at the books, but I know Yuan won't love them.

"Please take it back with you. I am Yuan doesn't like those books." I said.

She lowered her head and held her bag tight.

"I know I made a mistake, but please don't be like that anymore. I am so sorry for what happened and I know, I don't deserve to visit him. But I also want him to wake up." She said while looking down.

"I know. But Yuan doesn't read books about love stories. At first, I reacted like you, but as time passed I just knew the reason. So I know that he won't like these books." I said.

"Is it me?" She asked.

I just looked at her and took the fruits she brought. She just stood there and looked at me and Yuan and went out. I followed her as she wanted to talk to me.

"What is it?"

"I am leaving Yuan in your hands. I'll be leaving for the States later. I know I already said it many times. But I am really sorry."

I looked at her and smiled.

"I don't know if I should be the one telling you this but, Yuan loves you. Even though you guys broke up he didn't even forget about you. He'll forgive you, I know."

"Thank you."

After saying her goodbyes she looked once again at Yuan. She smiled at him and started to walk away. Yuan, Hailey is here saying her goodbyes to you with a better mind now. She smiles at you and hopefully, she will smile a lot more.

In the evening, Ren came to stay with Yuan. And the most unexpected thing happened. His parents came with him. His parents both lowered their gaze. I looked at them and his Mom didn't even try to look at me.

I looked at Ren and gave him the "What the hell?" look. The Ren slowly went to his brother's side.

"Yuan, Mom and Dad are here. They didn't believe me when I told them that you were in this state. Even in this situation, our parents are unbelievable, aren't they?"

Her mother suddenly burst into tears and went to Yuan's side. His father followed her which I can't believe is happening.

"Son, I'm sorry that this thing happened. I have no excuse. I failed to be a Father to you." His father said.

"You'll wake up, right? Mommy is sorry for everything so please open your eyes."

His mother bawled, I left the room as I was disgusted by her. I know It's rude to say it but I don't trust those tears. Yuan already cried many times in front of her, so how could she bawl like that?

I left them there so that they could have some privacy. It's a family thing after all. I went down to get some fresh air when I received a call. It's Grandpa.

"Pops is something wrong?" I asked.

"I might need you for something can you be here right now?"

His voice is worrying. So immediately I went to Grandpa's company. As soon as I came some staff greeted me with a bow. I hurriedly went up to the top floor where Grandpa's office was. When I got there a lot of people were standing inside. Then Grandpa welcomed me with a smile.

"There she is! The answer to our problems." He said while clapping.

I stood there thinking what was going on when suddenly all of them bowed to me. I frowned and walked outside the office. Yes, our family has this big corporation that handles different products all over the country. And I am the heir of this company which I don't want to have. I detest being an heir to this company. I do love my family it's just that I want to go on that path. I want to make my path, my own choices.

When I got outside the company Grandpa chased me.

"Come on little Yu! I need you right now!" He said.

"Pops, you know what happened to Yuan, why are doing this to me?" I said angrily.

Grandpa frowned and hugged me.

"I know that you are having a hard time because of what happened to Yuan. But still, the family needs you. I have so many business trips that I need to make and you were the only one I can count on to this. Please, Little Yu."

I know Grandpa knows that I don't want to have the company. I looked at him and cried. I wanna help him but I am worried about Yuan. I hugged him tight as I kept thinking about what to do.

"We still have 1 week for you to decide. I can wait, so please be with Yuan. Always remember that this Grandpa is always at your side."

After that, I went home to rest. While I was at home I looked at the seat Yuan always used. I tried to look out the window and saw the clear sky. Is this the view that Yuan always looks at? I cried remembering him. I want to hug and kiss him, and I miss his food. Yuan, please wake up. I fell asleep on the sofa while crying.

The next day I went to the hospital and from outside of Yuan's room I could hear Sister Xia and Grandpa talking.

"What? Are you sure about that? I mean my Little Yu won't like that idea." Grandpa said.

"Yeah, I already made arrangements. I know Yuyu won't like it. But I want my little brother to wake up. I already lost one, so I won't make it happen again." Sister Xia answered.

What are they talking about? I entered the room and both of them looked at me. Sister Xia hugged me tight. And whispered to me.

"I know you'll understand. It might take long but when he opens his eyes, I'll make sure that you will be the first person to know."

"What?"

Then she went outside the room. Grandpa smiled at me and looked at Yuan.

"Be sure to wake up. I'll keep Yuyu in check."

Then he walks out. I just stood there trying to think what they were talking about. Then Sister Xia came.

"Shen Yu, come over here."

I went towards her and I can't help feeling anxious about something.

"I'll be taking Yuan to the States for his recovery. I can't do anything around here and I am getting scared that he might leave me."

I understand her. She already lost 1 brother and I know she doesn't want that to happen again. I know, I understand but, what should I do? I can't take it if I am apart with Yuan. I... I want to be there when he wakes up.

"You can come with us if you want," Xia said.

"For real? Can I go with you?" I said while smiling.

She nodded as she said yes. I smiled and almost cried. I don't want to think about leaving Yuan. She said the flight is 2 days from now. I quickly went home to pack our things. But things were not as easy as it seems.

I was done packing Yuan and my things when a call came to me. It was Mom, she was sobbing.

"Mom? What's wrong?" I worriedly asked.

"Your Dad, he's in the hospital right now."

"Hospital? Why?"

"He was ill, but he didn't tell us. Until he collapsed a while ago. Then the doctors told us that he has been refusing surgeries for a while now. What should we do? "

I flopped down the floor. Why, did it turn like this? I hurriedly went to the hospital and saw Mom devastated in the waiting area. I saw Grandpa too and he was staring at the air blankly.

"Mom."

"YuYu! What should we do? If he won't take the surgeries he'll die within a month." She said while crying hard.

" I'll talk to Dad. Where is he?"

She pointed to the doors at the end of the hallway. But before I go, I look at Pops.

"Mom, please look after Grandpa," I said.

When I opened the door, I saw Dad sitting on his bed while looking outside the window. I guess sick people like to see the sky. I sit down beside him as he smiles at me.

"How are you, Dad?" I asked.

"I'm fine. But your Mother freaks out when she sees me collapse."

"Even I will be shocked."

I plan to have his permission to go with Yuan and Xia to the States, but in this situation, I better not think about it. I look at Dad and his face has become pale. That muscular body he has become so thin that it doesn't show how much he takes care of his health. He was a healthy person.

"Will you have the surgery?" I asked.

He looked at me and smiled. He stood up and went near the window.

"At first I was stressed out because of this news. But I can't leave my daughter alone, right? So even if I'm scared, I'll be taking it."

I smiled and stood up also. I made up my mind. I guess it's for the better though it will make me sad.

I want out and look for Mom and Grandpa. I saw them in the waiting area so I also went there. As soon as Mom saw me, she stood up.

"Have you convinced your Father?" She asked.

"Yeah, he said he would do it. Pops about the thing you asked me last time."

Grandpa smiled at me and nodded. I guess he knows what decision I've made. I called Sister Xia about it and she said it was fine. I went out of the hospital and looked up.
