Yuan**

"How bout this movie?" She asked.

She is excited to watch a movie. Right now we're going to watch a movie and eat later.

I already asked her for a date and didn't want anyone to take this happy moment away from us.

"Do you want a bubble tea?"

"Yeah!"

We stroll around the mall to kill some time since the cinema for our movie hasn't opened yet.

We bought some food for the movie later and drinks. I want to hold her hand but I kind of too shy and afraid to hold her hand.

When the cinema opened, we entered and sat in the middle section of the cinema. I saw her drink dripping so I tried to hold her for her. When I reached the tea she looked at me with those blushing cheeks. I smiled at her and leaned forward to whisper to her.

"I'll be holding this since it's dripping. If you wanna sip then tell me right away."

She is looking at me dreamingly like a little puppy. I wanna take a picture of her but she looked away. She looked down as she pouted and silently mumbled.

"I'm not a kid."

Then she quickly grabbed the bubble tea and suddenly I felt her hands holding my hand.

I giggled a little and teasingly faced her.

"If you wanna drink the bubble tea you can just it. You don't need to hold my hand."

She looked at me cutely and since the light from the movie shines back to us I can see her red face. I grabbed the popcorn and gave it to her. I stopped teasing her to focus on the movie. I don't want to distract her so she can enjoy it.

Then.... She locked her hands into mine. I looked at her and she was looking at me with a smile. We watched the movie like that and finished it holding hands. We ate in a nearby restaurant after the movie. We talked about a lot of things and we enjoyed the whole date.

"Yuan! Can we go somewhere after we eat?"

"Sure! Where are we going?"

"It's a secret."

When we arrived at my car she entered the destination on my car navigation. I take a look and it is kind of familiar to me. I drive there and as we come nearer and nearer I notice that we arrive at the park near the house I rented once with Ren.

"What are we doing here?" I asked her

"I can't take you to the street where we first met, but I can take you here to watch the stars."

I looked up and I saw the evening sky with stars above. Besides the window in our office, this was the first time I saw stars outside. We sat on a bench and she held my arms and leaned on my shoulders.

"When we lost you this is where I looked for you. I always talk to stars to give you back."

I looked at her face with a bitter smile and looked up also.

I closed my eyes and felt the wind. It's calm. I liked the vibe of the wind that gave me. It feels like it won't suffocate me even if I try to hold on to it tightly.

"I like it when I have you by my side. The way the wind calms me down is the same as you assuring me that I'll be fine."

I looked at her and put my forehead on hers. I smiled and whispered silently.

"I might not be the perfect man, but please bear it with me. In return, I'll cherish you the best way I can."

She smiled back at me as she held my hand. I know that this is something that I should protect. I was once severed in this kind of feeling. I love this feeling, the feeling of being loved, being treasured, and being with someone I can genuinely trust. Please don't us suffer from any pain.

Ren**

"Here have some tea."

"Thanks!" Hailey said.

Right now we are at my house. It's the same house that me and my brother rented in the past. I plan to move here with Hailey once we are married. But now that things got messed up between us and Yuan came back to us, it felt strange that Hailey was here.

"Ren, what did you like about me?" she asked.

I looked at her and smiled bitterly. I sat in front of her and checked her face.

"Your smile, your bubbliness, and your confidence. I love that about you. The first time I saw you I felt amazed. It was probably the same thing that Yuan liked about you."

I clenched my fist as I said it to her. I love her to the point that I want to help her get Yuan back, but I know Yuan won't like that idea. I want her to be happy. I don't want her to pursue things that won't make her smile. It breaks my heart to think that she is suffering because of what my mother did.

She stood up, got her things, and was ready to go out. I stood up also so I could drive her home but she insisted. She said she wanted to go alone. When the door closed, my legs gave out as I didn't have any energy to move anymore. Tears from my eyes fall down as I remember the days that we were together. I don't want to lose her. It may be a cliche to say but she is all that I have when Yuan was not here.

I stood up and tried to follow her outside. I kept running to look for her but she was nowhere to be seen. I kept on running until I couldn't feel my legs anymore. When I reached the big road I saw her on the other side with a familiar silhouette. Mom? I saw her walking with Hailey. When I got a chance to follow them I couldn't see them anymore. I am feeling a little uneasiness. I need to call them.

Shen Yu**

I looked at my phone and I kind of irritated. I am eating with Yuan right now before we go home. I enjoyed the date we had! I was thankful that nothing bothered us during the whole movie and stargazing but now the dog keeps on calling.

ding*

Ren sent me a message instead since he couldn't reach me via call. I was about to open the message when Yuan asked me to go home. I should open it later.

"By the way Yuan, when are you gonna release a new book?" I asked.

"Next month, I need to make some changes to the drafts and make another manuscript for Lulu to work on. Also, Sister Xia and Zhi-zhi will be an addition to our staff. I am already worried about this." He worriedly said.

Right. Sister Xia said that she wants to work in the office since she doesn't have anything to do. Zhizhi on the other hand was just being stubborn. I feel like, I liked her more when she was sick. Now she has recovered, she keeps on being aggressive towards Yuan. I need to keep my fangs near to Yuan.

The next morning I saw Zhizhi and Sister Xia in the office. I greeted them and chatted with them since Yuan wasn't there yet. I notice Yuan isn't having any nightmares for some time now. Not like the first time I saw him, he just slept well in his room. We haven't even talked about things late at night since he is just sleeping. Then Yuan came to the office. He looked at Sister Xia, Zhizhi, and then to me.

"Cat, call the others. I'll announce something." He said.

After I called them we started the meeting right away.

"Sister Xia and Zhizhi will be a new addition to the team. Please make them at home but not at home for real. Also, there will be an event for an orphanage. Sammy and Mina will be in charge and take Xia for... ahm."

He looked at Xia with something of concern.

"Sis, since I'm the boss here. I'll be a little strict okay?" He said.

"Sure!"

Sister Xia just smiled as she agreed with Yuan. Me and Lulu were given the task of checking the new manuscript. The office will be very busy for the whole week. Marco and Zhizhi were in charge of the bookstore. Zhizhi pouted since Marco would be guiding her for the whole day.

"Also, I don't want anyone to disturb me while I am focusing on something. I know that we all here are close enough to make little chats and tease each other. But make sure that we can do our work very well. I don't want to be strict more than this."

While he is in a mode of being a boss, I look at him. This guy with this charisma is my boyfriend you know. I want to hug him and ask him not to be strict, but that is his charisma.

"OUCH!!!"

While I was daydreaming, Yuan flicked my forehead. I scratched my head and looked at him with a puppy eye.

"Focus!"

Tsk, the puppy eyes didn't work. He still scolded me. After the meeting, Lulu and I checked the manuscripts that Yuan gave us. Both were children's books. I guess the last book has a big impact so he is doing it again. I looked at him again so I could start my day. Just after I looked at him, he looked at me also and smiled.

After a little while, Lulu and I went out to buy some food to eat while working. When we came back a bunch of drinks were at our desk. I looked at Yuan and he silently whispered.

"For you! FOR YOU ONLY!"

I blushed and smiled then I mumbled thank you to him. But of course, I can't just drink this on my own so I gave some to Lulu.

Then I remembered the message from Ren came. I still haven't checked his message yesterday.

"There might be a problem, please keep Yuan safe."

That is the last message he sent me. I felt anxious so I tried to call him. But the call can't be connected. I am worried about what he said. I look at Yuan while he is reading. I clenched my fists and told myself, that whatever problem came, I'll protect him. Then while looking at him, he answered a call from his phone.

"L.Y speaking... Who?"

Then his eyes went wide and became sad. I can see his face frown with anger and irritation. Then he looked at me. I mumbled who is it, but he didn't answer. Then out of nowhere he quickly stood up and stormed out of the office. I wonder what is happening. I have a bad feeling about this. I wanna run and go with him but I have a ton of things to do. I can't let Lulu do things alone.

"I know you are worried, I can handle things from here, you can go. But if something happens that I need you, then you can give back the favor." Lulu said.

I looked at her with thankful eyes. I rushed out so I could go with him but before I could get out of the building, I saw Hailey with her mother. I even saw Ren and their mother.

I wanted to take a closer step so I could hear what they were saying but a loud slap echoed from where they were standing. I saw it, I saw how Yuan took that slap. I saw his eyes shocked.

Is this what Hailey said? Is this the family that misses him? I clenched my teeth and fists as I walked towards them. I can't let him cry again. He will never be gone. I promised him that I would protect him.

When Hailey's mother raised her hand once again for another slap I quickly went towards Yuan and took it. My ears ring as it hurts. Then I faced Hailey's mother. I clenched my fist and teeth.

"Leave, all of you! You are not allowed inside here just to hit anyone. I'll never let anyone hurt Yuan anymore. SO LEAVE." I said.

"What a bitch! Do you want to protect this idiot? Then here take another." She said.

She raised her hands once again so I closed my eyes ready to take it. Then Yuan angrily went in front of me and held her hands. He is controlling his anger so he won't hurt her. Hailey isn't doing anything the same thing as Ren which made me more mad.

Then a familiar old guy with a walking cane came. He suddenly lifted his cane and put it between Yuan and Hailey's mother.

"My goodness. I never thought that the little girl had a loud voice and a very long patience. " The old man said.

He looked at me and I knew it was him.

"Grandpa!"
