"Babe! I'll look for some reference books. You can wait for me here."

"Sure!."

I look at Hailey as she looks for her reference materials. Since we are already in the last term of our college days. We have this hectic thesis to submit. I am already done with mine and I already told Hailey that I can help her but she doesn't want me to do that since she wants to pass it on her own. I felt proud since my fiancé was really working hard.

I stare around the Bookstore to look for something to read but there is nothing here that gets my interest. I look at Hailey again and I notice that she is holding 3 books.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Oh! it's some novel books that get my interest. Look! The cat on the cover is really cute."

"What a cat lover babe."

After we bought the book we had our lunch at a nearby café. I wasn't hungry at all but the girl I love was really making it hard not to notice that she is hungry. I held her hand and told her that it was fine if she was hungry and it wasn't that embarrassing to say to me.

While we were eating she read the book that she bought. It's really not that interesting to me but I saw the author's name while she was reading it. "L.Y", while looking at it I can't stop thinking about my brother and Yu. It's been 2 or 3 weeks since I saw that cat. I also kind of miss my brother. I might visit his grave one of these days.

"Ahm... Babe. Didn't Shen Yu meet Yuan in the streets?"

I nodded at her as I agreed with her question and when I looked at her I saw her eyes became wide open. I looked at her and asked her what was the matter and she just quietly handed the book to me.

Then I read the first 2 lines of the page.

"As soon as I looked on the moon a cat passed by me and it almost got hurt by a vehicle passing the street. When I saved it its eyes were glowing like how the moon shines above us and it thanked me using its expressionless eyes."

At first, I just thought that this story was about a homeless cat being adopted by a stranger. I guess this kind of story is really not unique. But as I read it thoroughly I found some similar cases of what Yu and Yuan told me when I asked them how they met.

When we went home Hailey lent me the book so I could read it more.

It is almost the same story that I know. I looked at the author again and checked it online. L.Y, it can't be him, right? I saw some information about him on the internet but it's just rumors. Some of it says L.Y is a beautiful girl but none of them actually saw her. I need to know who is this L.Y.

I stopped and wondered if I could ask anyone. But since Yuan doesn't have any friends, I can't think of anyone. All of Yuan's classmates also know that my brother is dead. I was in a blank space when I saw the book. OH RIGHT! THE CAT! I got my phone and called Shen Yu right away!

"Hey Ren. It is already late. What do you want." She annoyingly said.

"SHEN YU!! YOU WORK FOR A PUBLISHING HOUSE RIGHT?"

"Hey don't shout. And yes I do. why?"

"I FOUND A BOOK! AND ITS FREAKING ABOUT YOU!"

She wasn't even surprised about what I just said. Looks like she knows about the book already.

While I am still in shock since everything in this book is about Her and my brother.

"Oh, have you read it? I already read that book."

"Have you met the author? Is he... no... Is he someone we know?"

While I wait for her answer, my hands are quite wet since I'm nervous. I have this beat in me that wishes it was Yuan. Shen Yu won't lie to me since both of us wish for the same thing.

"Yeah I met L.Y, but she is a girl... I asked her already about it too."

My excitement went down after she told me that L.Y was a girl. What am I wishing for? I know that the dead won't go up again. I wanna ask her about that author but since I lost my interest I hung up the phone. I closed the book and stopped reading it. Then I went to my brother's room. His room is still how it was on the day he left us. I missed him so much.

Sometimes I recall how he takes care of me. I started to cry when I saw his picture on the table. Those days when his smiles were precious to us. At first, I was mad at him because Hailey loved him too much. I found myself guilty when they broke up, but when I saw him that he couldn't handle the pain, I felt responsible for it. I know mom blackmailed Hailey to be with me. I know that Mom offered Hailey's parents some money to break up with him and be with me.

Those days when my brother called me a dog were too precious to me since it was my symbol of repenting. But then that day, when Dad takes Mom's side. I know that he hates us even more. He hates Mom that she takes Hailey away from him, he hates Dad who takes my Mom's side and he would hate me if he knew that it was all for me.

I cried in his room. Then my mom knocked.

"Ren.. what are you doing here?"

Since that day Yuan died. I hate this family. I hate them to the point that I don't even talk to them anymore. I don't eat in this house, don't answer their calls, and don't accept any of their invites to hang out. I hate Mom and Dad for being okay when Yuan was gone. I closed his room and took the key with me. Before I can enter my room Mom holds my hand to stop me from entering the room.

"Are you really going to ignore us? "

I looked at her with a disgusting face and started to give her a mad look in my eyes. I don't want to give them any explanation or any answer if they ask anything. I swayed my arms to get freed from her grip and entered my room.

I lay on my bed, put my arms on my head, and started crying again.

"I'm sorry Brother. I can't hate them the way you do."

Then my phone rang. It's the cat. I pulled myself together and answered it.

"What? I'm not in the mood cat."

"HEY! YOU CALLED ME FIRST! AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF YOU I LOST MY REWARD!!! Sigh... Are you okay? I know you are crying because you missed Yuan." She said.

"It's okay. I'm fine here. What reward did you lose? Shall I compensate?"

"Nah it's okay! I'll just go and sleep."

Then she ended the call. Then I called Hailey.

"Hey Babe! Are you still doing your papers.?"

"Hey Ren. Yeah, I am still doing it! You okay?"

"Yeah!"

Shen Yu**

I can't sleep. Right now I am frustrated with something. When I was talking with Ren on the phone earlier Yuan was standing beside me. When he knew that I was talking to Ren, he stood up and went to my table. Then he got the manuscript that I was working on and told me that it would be delayed further. Then he asked me to stop looking at him as the reward became invalid. I mean WHAT THE HECK!! I worked hard to earn that reward and he just emotionlessly took it back.

I get out of my room to have a cup of water since I am frustrated. I have to cool myself down so I won't explode in front of Yuan. While I was drinking I loud shout came from Yuan's room. I was surprised when Yuan ran out of his room and went to his chair to cuddle himself. I looked at him as he looked scared for some reason.

'Yuan? Are you okay?"

He looked at me and then cried. He started sobbing while looking at me and then slowly went to me and hugged me. I felt my heart skip a beat while in his arm but I could feel his sadness.

He cried really hard as I patted his back while telling him that it was okay.

After a while stopped hugging me and sat on his chair as he cuddled his self.

"Cat." He called.

"Yea?"

"I hate being betrayed. I hope you won't do that to me."

I looked at him as he was looking at the bright moon. I can sense his trust in me and I don't wanna lose it.

"I won't. I'll be your cat, and as long as you need me. I won't abandon you."

Then he looks at me with those eyes that confirm my loyalty. I look at him as I stand up in my seat to go towards him. Then I gave him a hug so that he would be convinced that I was on his side. Then out of nowhere, he reached his side drawer to get a manuscript.

get it done by tomorrow. It's a kid's book.

I looked at it and it was a totally different story. This one has its title.

"The Cheerful Dog"

I looked at him and smiled. I hugged him again and when I broke the hug he told me to go and rest so that I could wake up early. I was hesitant to leave him there but he pushed me back to my room.

"Goodnight."

He said while giving me the sweetest smile.

I smiled back at him and even I was too shy to say it to him.

"Goodnight Yuan"
