Rachel, Jack and James immediately packed some clothes.

"Bye mom, we are going now," said Rachel.

"Oh wait! Go after eating something," said Monica.

"Oh don't worry Monica, I will make them something delicious," said Violet.

"But..." Monica was cut by Violet.

"Please, Monica! I insist, " Violet urged.

"Alright, but my children, please be well mannered and do not trouble aunt Violet, " Monica said.

"Yes mom, " they all replied.

They headed towards Ella and Emma's house with them.

First, they all had lunch which Violet had prepared and then they all went to Emma's room.

"So tell us everything that happened yesterday," Jack said, enthusiastically.

Ella and Emma told them the things that happened yesterday in detail and Jack, James, and Rachel proved out to be good audiences.

They chatted for almost one hour when suddenly, the spark of lightning startled them.

"It looks like it is going to rain," said Emma.

"But when we came here, the sky was so clear," said James.

"This sudden change in weather is so creepy, " Ella shuddered.

"Do you hear something? It seemed like the utensils fell down in the kitchen" said Jack.

"No, we didn't hear anything," they replied.

"Let's go and check it," said James, excitedly.

"No... It doesn't seem like a good idea. The ghost is very dangerous and besides it can be mother, " Ella refused.

"Oh common, don't be such a baby, " said Rachel.

"Ok. But you all will go ahead" said Emma. Ella agreed.

As they got out of the room, they saw a shadow on the stairs.

Ella screamed, "it is coming towards us! Run!"

Before Ella could run away, Rachel holds her and said "stay calm. We have seen such things before. We have experience".

The shadow disappeared just on the topmost stair.

"where did it go?" Emma said looking around the house.

"Let's go down in the kitchen first, " suggested James.

They all slowly tip towed towards the kitchen, trying not to make any sound.

"Ahhhh!" Emma screamed, "look at the stairs!"

The ghost was crawling down the stairs. It had bloody, long nails and bushy hair.

Hearing the scream of Emma, Violet, who was sleeping got up. She picked the cricket bat which was lying in the hallway and started to go down.

As soon as she saw that ghost near the children, she ran towards it and swished the bat on its head.  The bat went through the spirit's body, not touching it. And then, the ghost disappeared.

"Oh, mom!" Emma and Ella began to cry and hugged their mother. "Thank you for saving us!"

"My dearest! I should have believed you. There really is a ghost here. Are you all ok?" Violet asked all the children".

They all nodded. Violet immediately took all the children to her room and locked the door. Then she picked up her phone to call Jacob but her door's lock opened on its own.
