"Ok thanks, mom but first I want to drink some water so can you please come down with me?" Ella requested.

"No Ella! Stop being a baby! You have to go alone" Violet snapped.

"But mom! Plea...." Ella was cut by her mother.

"No Ella! Stop arguing and go yourself," said Violet as she lied down on the bed.

Ella was very thirsty so she went down by herself. She was shaking with fear. She switched on the kitchen lights but they wouldn’t turn on. Then suddenly, she felt that someone was standing right behind her. She dare not look back and abruptly, someone grabbed her face.

She screamed and ran towards the stairs after freeing herself but she stopped when she heard creepy laughter. She turned her face towards the kitchen entrance and saw the same ghost that was in the window.

The ghost ran towards her and Ella started to climb the stairs very quickly but then someone pulled her down.

"Mom! Help!" She screamed and immediately, Violet and Emma ran downwards. Ella was lying at the bottom of the stairs, her arm was bleeding.

"Oh, dear! What happened Ella?" Violet asked worriedly looking at her bleeding arm.

"Mom! I told you there is a ghost in the house. First, it covered my face and then ran towards me and then pulled me down the stairs" Ella sobbed.

"Mom! I know she is telling the truth! How can we see the same things upstairs? Mom, please get out of here! Mom please!" Emma begged.

"Umm! Well, I'll see about that in the morning. Now Ella get up, I'll tie a bandage to your hand and you both need to get some sleep. Come" Violet said, sympathetically.

Ella got up slowly. She even had a sprain in her ankle. Emma and Violet helped her climb the stairs and took her to Violet's room. They laid her down on the bed.

Emma brought the first aid box and when she saw the wound from close, it looked as if someone had scratched her. 

"Oh, dear!" Violet exclaimed. She examined the wound for a few moments and then quickly tied the bandage on her arm.

"Now go to sleep! It's going to be alright" she declared.

The three of them lied down on the bed. When Violet reached to switch off the lamp, Ella said " mom can we please keep the lights on today?"

"Ok dear," Violet smiled and kissed her daughters on the forehead.

Ella and Emma didn't sleep the whole night. They were so terrified that every sound seemed as if the ghost was coming again and then suddenly, the bedroom door opened on its own.
