Family Day Disaster
Lonnie made me wake up extra early so I could get ready for Family Day. She picked me out a pink top, black skirt with a pink flower print, tan shoes, pink flower earrings and a few bracelets that Lonnie forced me to buy. (picture up top)
I curled my hair and put some of it in a pony tail to hold it back.
I walked down stairs to see Ben and Jason with the school a capella group.
"Hey Cassie." Ben said as I walked down.
"Hi. What song are you guys doing?"
"No clue. Have any ideas?"
"You guys could do Be Our Guest."
Jason chuckled. "Oh yeah!"
"What's that?" Audrey asked.
"Jason!" I said as he got next to me.
"Be our guest, be our guest, put our service to the test. Tye a napkin round your neck cherie and we'll provide the rest. Soup doujor, hot oudurves, my we only live to serve. Try the gray stuff it's delicious. Don't believe me, ask the dishes!"
Then I started rapping. "They can sing sing sing, they can dance dance dance, after all this is France! And the dinner here is never never second best. Come on and fold your menu, come on take a glace and then you'll be our guest. Be our guest. Be our guest!"
Then we both went back to singing. "Go on and lift your glass! You won your own free pass. Be our guest. If you stressed, it's fine dining we suggest. Be our guest, be our guest, be our guest!"
Ben was smiling from ear to ear. "That's awesome!"
"I can take the lead." Jason said.
"Great! Glad I could help." I said, walking away.
I waited for Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos, knowing the chocolate fountain would be the first stop.
The a capella group sang Be Our Guest when Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos came. I have to admit, those people are fast learners.
"Cute outfit." Evie said.
"Thanks."
"Hey Cassie." Jason said, coming from behind me.
"Hey. You were great up there."
"Thanks. You excited for the coronation on Friday?"
"A little."
"That's good. Nervous for talent show?"
"Yeah."
"You'll do fine."
"I actually have an idea for that. They don't open the curtain until it's close to the end of the song."
"That's really good. I think you'll win for sure."
"Think so?"
"Yeah. You're really talented, and I think you'll win."
"Thanks."
Mal walked up to us. "Hey. Ben's parents want us to join them for lunch. You coming?"
"Yeah. We'll be right there." I said, while silently thinking Oh boy! I get to meet my great grandparents. And Dad said that would never happen.
"So this is Evie, Jay, Carlos, Cassidy, Mal's friends, and Jason, Cassidy's boyfriend." Ben said, introducing us to his parents.
"So nice to meet you all." Belle said.
"Indeed. She has some interesting friends." Beast agreed, hesitating at the word interesting.
"Well, these are my people, people's boyfriend, and boyfriend. I wouldn't hang out with them unless they were interesting." Mal said, winning a chuckle from me, Evie, Jay, and Carlos. Jason didn't get it and Ben was trying his best not to laugh.
"Are you saying that our son is a hooligan?" Beast asked.
"No," I said. "she's saying that your son is interesting. Like how smart he is, and how caring, which I'm sure he gets from his lovely mother and father."
"And strong. He's an amazing tourney player, much like Cassidy." Mal said.
"Not to mention your son helped me ward off bullies like Audrey and Chad." I added.
"Audrey was bullying this charming girl?" Belle asked. "I'm sorry, but I just don't see it."
"Believe it. She dumped her salad all over Cassidy." Jay said. "Jane, you know, FG's daughter? She let Cassidy change and take a shower in her room."
"Yeah. Jane is really something." Carlos said dreamily.
Evie looked at Carlos. "You okay?"
Carlos looked at Evie. "Yeah. I'm perfectly fine."
"You sure about that?" I asked.
"Yes Cas. I'm sure that I am perfectly fine."
"Okay, just checking."
"Wanna play some croquet?" Belle asked us.
"Sure. Why not?" I said as everyone followed my lead.
Everyone was playing croquet while Mal and I were talking. An old woman walked up to us.
"Hello there." Said the old woman.
"Hi." Both Mal and I said.
"Have we met?"
"No, I don't think so." Mal said as I avoided eye contact. I had a theory about who this woman was, and it approved when Audrey walked up to her and called the woman "Grammy."
When she saw Mal, Audrey said "I don't think you want to be talking to this girl. Unless you feel like taking another 100 year nap."
The old woman, Queen Leah, recognized Mal and screeched "YOU! How are you here? And how have you stayed so young?"
"Queen Leah, Maleficent is still on the island. This is her daughter Mal." I said.
"Why is she here?"
"Because I gave her a second chance." Ben said, coming out from behind us.
"My daughter was raised by fairies, because of you mother's curse. So her first word, her first steps, I missed it all!" Queen Leah said, point the accusing finger at Mal.
"I'm so-" Mal tried to say, but got cut off by Chad.
"Don't say another word."
"Don't do this Chad." Ben said, moving in front of Ma and me for protection.
"They were raised by their parents Ben. What do you think villains teach their kids? Kindness? Fair play? And obviously they tainted the Wicked Witch of Auradon!" Chad said, pointing at me. Then Chad pointed to Mal, Jay, Evie, and me. "You stole another girl's boyfriend."
"I wasn't in love with Audrey in the first place!" Ben said, which made Audrey turn pink like a flamingo.
"You like hurting people!" Chad said, pointing to Jay as he snapped a shish kabob stick in half.
"You are a cheater and a gold digger!" Then he pointed at Evie, who was clearly fuming.
"And you! You're nothing but an ugly little girl who has a horrible voice and will never amount to anything in the entire world." Chad said, pointing to me. I felt myself on the verge of tears.
Jason noticed and walked up with Ben. "Leave her alone. I get that she took your spot on the tourney team. But that is no reason to bully her! I've seen her play, and she is talented. So get off her back about it."
"Mirror mirror in my hand, who is the biggest jerk in the land!" Evie said as her mirror popped up with a picture of Chad on the glassy surface.
Chad knocked the mirror out of Evie's hand as I took a croquet mallet and knocked him out from under his feet. Chad passed out, Audrey trying to revive him.
Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and I ran away from the scene, me with tears in my eyes.
Jason POV
"What just happened?" I asked.
"I'll tell you what happened." Chad said once he woke up. "Your girlfriend went all ballistic on me! She tried to kill me!"
"Puh-lease! Like Cassidy could do any real damage with a croquet mallet." Ben said, making his parents give him weird looks.
Ben looked at his parents. "What! That girl can punch the life out of an elephant if she wanted to. That girl wouldn't hurt a fly."
"She only did that to you Chad because you forced her hand!" Jane said.
"She started it!"
"Did she? Did she really?" Lonnie asked.
"She took my spot in the team!"
"Because she was the better player!" Doug said exasperated. "How many times do we have to go through this!"
Chad and Audrey stomped away.
Ben turned to his parents. "This isn't their fault."
Beast looked at his son. "No, it's not. It's yours."
"How is this Ben's fault!?" I asked. "He did nothing wrong! We both tried to stop Chad!"
"Yeah!" Doug agreed. "If anyone should be at fault, it's Chad!"
"Well someone has to be at blame, so it may as well be Ben." Beast said as he walked away.
"I'll try to talk him out of it." Belle said as she went to catch up with Beast.
Ben looked at me. "We should try to find our girlfriends."
"Agreed." And we went to find Mal and Cassidy.
Cassidy POV
Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and I were peacefully eating our lunch in the cafeteria when Ben and Jason came over.
"You guys okay?" Jason asked.
"We're fine." I said.
"How are you though?"
"I'm fine."
"What just happened, that is ancient history. Let it go. I promise after my coronation on Friday that everything will be alright." Ben said, then quietly said "I have to go." to Mal.
He walked away with Jason following, for who knows what reason.
"You know that will never last. He'll never make a villain a queen. Mal's just the bad girl infatuation. Same with Cassidy. The good girl gone bad. Jason will never stay with you." Audrey said as she walked past the table.
"Beware, forswear, undo Audrey's hair." Mal said, turning Audrey's hair lifeless, almost like Jane's.
"What was that for?" Audrey asked. "Who do you think you are?"
"Do I look like I'm kidding! You messed with the wrong fairy chica!" Mal said, flipping through her spellbook. Everyone in the school that hates us ran from the scene.
"I can't wait until Friday. Let's grab that wand and blow this popsicle stand." Mal said as we all got up and followed the daughter of Maleficent out of the cafeteria.
