"How dare you!", Kiki screeched

"Is that what you teach your children Callie?", Aunt Tami yelled, "Look at how he's letting....this girl treat his sister!",

"Teachings? Callie never had them in the first place, what is she going to teach her children?", Nana snarled, "She married that man without my permission and now she's not even correcting her children ",

"You just went after the money Callie", Aunt Tami added, "Why would you ever disapprove of this girl when she's just like you? Nothing but a goddamn gold digger",

"You didn't even have the money to pay your tuition when you ran away, we all know you're not talented enough to get into Harvard", Nana yelled,, "You just slept with the most profitable man you could find",

That's it.

"Shut up",

"Excuse me?!", Aunt Tami sputtered.

"I told you to shut up, did the botox seep into your ears or what?", I glared at her with my hands on my hips, "You have no right to come to this dinner party and say something like that to Callie",

At that point, I didn't care if they disowned me afterwards, I just had to defend Callie.

"And who are you to talk? You're not even part of this family", Kiki retorted.

"Okay, first off, nobody even wants you here, secondly, what makes you think you should speak to me?",

"You people talk about teachings when you're daughter here who is what? 16? Has a boob job", I pointed out, "I was sitting here the entire time, praying they wouldn't pop out onto her plate when she leaned over to seduce my boyfriend who, may I add, is her cousin",

"You both have enough plastic in your face to make barbie jealous and you dare to talk about Callie when she actually has a degree and a brain and she's one of the finest doctors in the city?",

"Well guess what? She isn't the one spending billions of dollars on her clothes and plastic surgeons and jewelry",

"How dare you talk to my mother like that?", Kiki stalked up to me.

"Honey please, let the adults talk and please stay 6 feet away from me at all times because I might as well take a fork and pop those implants",

Kiki backed away from me as if I was a psycho.

Which I was at the moment.

"So get out of here, and don't show your faces to these people again because a family as wonderful as them does not need you here to ruin the mood",

They all gaped at me.

"We won't forget this insult!", Nana snarled at me.

"You better not", I replied back as they stormed out of the house.

Everyone stood in an awkward silence as I shuffled from one foot to another, considering the possibility that they might kick me out of here.

"I'm sorry for causing a scene", I apologized, "I understand if you want me to leave",

I grabbed my clutch when Callie held me back by the arm.

"Why did you defend me?", she asked.

"You're a great mom Callie, and I don't think people like that can have the audacity to insult you", I sighed, "I'm sorry, I should've been a bit more rational",

"William", she said, "Please escort Harper back to her house",

And break up with her.

"And have a good sleepover",

My eyes snapped back upto Callie, who was smiling at me now.

"So you guys...aren't mad?", I asked confusedly.

"Mad?", Annie snorted, "You said what I have held back in my throat for years, it was rather enjoyable",

"You could've been a little more.....civilized", Mr Green added, "But I think you did a good job in putting them in their place",

David patted my back and said, "Good work",

I was speechless. I just unleashed my rage on someone like that and here they were, laughing about it. I threatened to pop out Kiki's boob. If that doesn't scream crazy, I don't know what it is.

Will pressed his lips to my ear, "Is it weird that I'm extremely turned on by that?",

"You're turned on by me yelling at people? Then yes, that is weird", I replied.

"Come on, let's resume to...oh wait, the mochi's destroyed", her face fell.

 "About that", Annie chuckled nervously, "I had a feeling they wouldn't leave without a stampede, so I replaced the mochi you made with some store bought ones, so your mochis are still in the fridge",

"You were awesome tonight", Will said as I stepped out of the car.

"You've said that 30 times on the ride home William", I groaned.

"Because it's true!", he protested.

We both chuckled as I opened the door and stepped in, when I heard laughing from the kitchen

I silently took off my heels and gestured for Will to be quiet as we both peeked into the kitchen where Kat and Levi were sitting on the stools gobbling down fruit loops.

Levi talked enthusiastically about the Jaws movie they just watched while Kat listened.

"I have a question", he asked suddenly.

"Shoot", she said with a mouthful of fruit loops.

"Be honest with me okay?", he said.

"I'm always honest", Kat snorted.

Jeez what a liar.

"What do you really feel for me?", he asked.

The room was filled with an awkward silence.

Kat's smile was replaced with an intense expression as she gulped down the mass of fruit loops in her mouth.

"Levi I-",

"Okay no don't say it", Levi cut in, "You sound like you're going to say something that would tear me into a million pieces so don't say it",

"Levi can you just-",

"Nope it's fine, forget about it",

"Levi I'm saying-",

"I don't want to know, just forget I asked anything and let's continue with our date like nothing happened because why would something happen? Because-",

Kat cut him off by pulling him by the collar of his shirt and pressing her lips against his. He stood frozen in shock for a second but then I saw him smile giddily into the kiss.

"That's my brother", Will put a hand on my shoulder.

"They just had their first kiss", I sniffled, feeling my eyes getting a little misty.

Kat let go and stared at Levi.

"You should really let me talk", she managed to say with her flustered face.

Levi just smiled at her.

"Stop smiling like a creep", she smacked his cheek lightly, "Come on, let's get back to the movie, someone's gonna get eaten",

She picked up her bowl of fruit loops and pulled Levi back the living room by the hand while he followed her in a daze.

"That was adorable", a voice said from behind us.

Will and I jumped up and yelped, causing Kat and Levi to to spot us in our hiding spot.

"Bubba!", I scolded.

"Were you spying on us?", Kat glared at accusingly.

"What? No-nonono, why would-heh-why would we do that?", I rambled.

"You guys are so CUTE!", Bubba squealed.

"Shut it!", Kat and I echoed.

"That is invasion of privacy!", Kat exclaimed, crossing her arms over her chest, glaring daggers at the three of us.

An intense and awkward silence spread throughout the atmosphere. But before it could get any serious, Bubba started singing:

"Kat and Levi sitting on a tree", he bopped his head to the song.

"K-I-S-S-I-N-G", Will continued.

"Shut up", Kat growled advancing towards us

Here we go again.

"First comes love! Then comes marriage!", We chorused together, "Then comes the baby and the baby carriage!",

"That's it, you're all dead!", Kat chased after us as we spread out, leaping over sofas trying to escape.

I could've said, in that moment, I felt content.

"Cookie Dough is one of the best ice cream flavours in the world", Harper argued.

"Mint Chocolate Chip is sensational, cookie dough tastes......well like raw cookie dough!", Will protested.

I swear, they don't look like they're going to go to college in a few months, more like angry toddlers who fling food in people's face and speak gibberish.

"I'd like a Cookies and Cream please", I told the woman at the counter, who looked relieved to finally receive an order since Will and Harper had been arguing for 10 minutes straight.

"And what about your boyfriend?", She gestured at Levi.

His eyes lit up and his lips pressed into a thin line as he bit his bottom lip to suppress the signature silly smile.

The lips that had just touched mine a few hours ago.

OH SHUT UP KAT!

"He's not my boyfriend", I corrected.

"I'm her future husband actually", Levi grinned, putting an arm around me.

The woman at the counter chuckled as she scooped my ice cream onto the cone.

"You seem very eager to get punched tonight", I glared at him.

"I'm very eager to get kissed too", he whispered. 

I felt my cheeks burn into flames at the mention of the kiss. I looked away trying to hide the stupid smile that was finding it's way to my lips. GOD I hate this guy.

"He'll have a salted caramel", I told the woman.

"How'd you know that?", he asked.

"You like disgusting flavours is why", 

Once Will and Harper finally got their ice creams, we went into the parking lot, Levi and I were leaning against the railing, watching the cars pass by while the lovebirds strolled around laughing and giggling.

How......gooey. Ugh.

"The couple in that car, just had a fight so they're not speaking to each other", Levi pointed at one of the cars that passed by.

"About what?",

"About him smoking all the time",

I cocked a brow at him, "And how would you know that",

"I can read people's faces", he replied casually licking his ice cream. 

"Oh really", I turned to him, "Read mine then",

"As you wish milady",

He turned to me, watching my face intently. His blue eyes shone in the dim light of the streetlamps, swirling with all the colors of the sea, hooded by his dark hair. His lips were a darker pink, a speck of ice cream at the corner.

"You think I'm hot", he said.

"What?! No!", I turned away, blushing furiously, "You're stupid, annoying, rude and-",

"You still kissed me",

I will never live this down for as long as I live.

"Levi", I sighed, "I like you but....I wanna be friends first.....we're only 14", 

I am a royal mess right now.

"Okay then, let's be friends first", he agreed.

"Really?", I felt a huge wave of relief wash over me.

"On one condition",

The relief disappeared.

"What condition?",

"I want a kiss", he popped the cone into his mouth and moved closer to me, "A proper kiss",

"I kissed you once, that was a proper kiss",

"Abrupt, Sudden", he counted them with his fingers, "Not proper",

I mean, he was right.

"You're not going to try to makeout with me are you?", 

"I'm not that eager to get knocked out KitKat", 

I pondered the offer for a moment. One proper kiss. And we'd be friends. Just friends.

"Okay", I said, "One proper kiss, and then we're just friends", 

"Just friends", He stared at me intently, a mischevious smirk on his face, "Close your eyes",

I was skeptical, but I did as I was told. I could hear my heartbeat ringing in my ears as I felt him move closer, the heat radiating off him made my mind go fuzzy and blank.

Control Kat. Control.

An arm snaked around my waist, pulling me closer, while the other rested on my cheek, making my nerves short circuit.

I was not prepared for what came next.

He pressed his lips to mine and I nearly fainted. Control.

He guided me throughout the kiss, our lips moving rhythymically against each other. I could taste the sugary and salty caramel on his lips. His thumb carressed my cheek and my hand rested on his chest.

I was practically on cloud nine.

When he pulled away, I wanted it to last forever.

"Just friends?", he whispered.

"J-Just f-friends", I managed to say.
