56 - Epilogue

PARAGON

A familiar salty breeze ferried the ship forward, urged on by the silver sea serpent. Despite sailing to the port for many years, Paragon's favorite ports would always be in Draconia.

She knew Myrllen would visit his family while they were in Havenous, especially since the last magic message he received suggested his sister, Camille, was thinking about asking to join the ship to learn magic and the ways of the trade. The silver sea serpent hoped she would join.

Meanwhile, Paragon had plans to join Travis, Costasiella, and Marin on land to conduct trading, and make sure the recent refugees they rescued were safely settled in the country. The thought of helping the displaced people made her smile.

"Mom! Are you sure we'll get to Havenous in time? I don't want to keep Violet waiting."

Paragon smiled lovingly at the smaller white serpent with scattered black knothole-like patterns across his body. "Don't worry, Birch. We'll be there in time for your date with the princess." She lovingly nuzzled her son as she willed the ship to go faster. The wooden vessel complied to her magic, slicing the waves against the bow with minimal effort.

"It's not a date! And you know she doesn't like being called a princess!" Birch whined, flustered. "It's not a date." He pouted. "Definitely not a date."

Paragon chuckled softly, "sure it isn't." She lovingly nuzzled her son. "I'm sure Queen Horizon's daughter will enjoy your not-date." The silver serpent knew the adopted princess would enjoy their day together. The purple dragon's smitten feelings were obvious to Paragon. She sensed the young dragoness's feelings when she stepped on the deck of her ship several visits ago.

With a chuckle, Travis joined them and leaned against the railing. "Maybe we should go on shore and get her a gift before you meet her. Maybe get her a new scarf?" He smiled. "You could join the crew and me when we go on land. Travis knows the best seamstress in Havenous."

Birch pouted and sat next to his mother at the base of the bowsprit, then blushed as Paragon pulled him close with a wing. His face flushed as his mother then gave him a motherly kiss. He pouted and tried to get out, but his mother was more than four times his size and easily held him close. Eventually, the embarrassment faded, and he soon snuggled close to his mother. "Maybe I should give her a gift." He blushed slightly.

Paragon lovingly chuckled as she looked out into the water, happy.

Author Notes!

And this is the end of The Liveship Paragon!
