Birdo was taking a nice, relaxing bath when the doorbell rang. “OMG, CAN YOU NOT?!” she screamed. She jumped out of the bathtub and ran to the front door. Rosalina was standing at the door. “Oh hi, Rosalina,” Birdo smiled. Then, she gasped and covered her head in shame. She had forgotten to wear her bow.

“Well, umm… I have a belated birthday gift for you,” Rosalina gave her a box wrapped in glittery purple paper. “Hope you like it.” Then, she vanished.

“The wrapping is, like, totes perf,” Birdo excitedly opened the box and once she did, she began to fangirl. It was a pastel pink Instax Mini 8, one of the things Birdo wanted for her birthday. And in addition to that, Rosalina had bought film! Birdo wanted one so badly because… “Selfie time!” she squealed. But, before she could take any selfies, she had to wear her bow. So, she got her bow, went out to her front yard, and took one selfie after another.

“Birdo, what are you doing?!” Peach exclaimed when she came to Birdo’s house and saw her lying down on the grass, surrounded by about 50 photos.

“Being happy!” Birdo replied.

“Well, you promised me that we could go to Cheep Cheep Beach today,” Peach said. “You said to come here at 10 am, so I’m here and ready to go! How about you?”

“I’ll get ready!” Birdo got up. “But first, let me take a selfie!” Birdo took at least 10 more selfies before going back inside her house, bringing her photos with her.

*30 minutes later*

“What took you so long?” Peach demanded. “All you had to do was bring stuff for the beach!”

“I took more selfies,” Birdo shrugged. “Problem?”

“Yes!” Peach said. “You’re getting too distracted with these selfies. I bet that at the beach, you’ll spend more time with that camera than with me!”

“We can take selfies together! In fact, let’s do that now!” Birdo grinned. Peach groaned.

“Fine, but not too mu-“ Peach was cut off by Birdo who was now at Peach’s side, taking more pictures. “I wasn’t ready!” Peach pouted. Then, she slapped her hand over her mouth because this meant…

“That’s ok, we’ll take more!” Birdo said. After around 10 minutes, they finally got into Peach’s car and left for the beach.

*an hour later*

“We’re here! Omg!” Birdo exclaimed. Peach sighed with relief. She had lost count of how many selfies Birdo had taken in the car. They got a nice gazebo because after all, Peach was a princess and put their stuff there. Peach ordered a watermelon shake and Birdo just began to walk down the beach, STILL using her camera. Peach took a nap. After another hour, Mario, Luigi, Daisy, and Yoshi arrived. Toad and Toadette were on a cruise, so they couldn’t go to the beach. Peach rented two more gazebos and the group had lunch under the shade. “Let’s all swim together!” Mario suggested and everyone agreed. Yoshi noticed that Birdo was taking her Instax Mini with her.

“Bow, you should leave your camera in the gazebo,” he said.

“Nah, it’s fine,” Birdo said. “I must capture these memories.” Everyone went into the water. Birdo, of course, continued to take selfies in the ocean. But, after a few minutes…

“Aww, I don’t have film anymore,” Birdo said to herself. Meanwhile, Mario had a harmless idea or what he thought was harmless.

“Luigi, do you think Birdo has her camera with her?” he asked Luigi. Birdo was kind of far away from them, so Luigi didn’t see her very well.

“I don’t think so… Why?” Luigi said.

“Oh, I just wanna startle her,” Mario shrugged. “It’s pretty harmless, right?”

“Yeah, unless she has her camera with her,” Luigi said. “But, I don’t think she does.” Mario slowly swam towards Birdo and popped up when he was really near her, giving her a big splash. Birdo gasped. The water touched her Instax Mini and it started malfunctioning. Sparks began to fly and it all ended in a big explosion, burning the camera, Birdo's face, and a nearby little boy, who instantly began crying. The boy's mother shot glares at Birdo and Mario. Birdo then slowly turned to face Mario, who had by now realized his mistake.

“MARIO!” she screeched.
