"This is horrendous!" Peach sobbed as she walked to Toad's house on her tiny mushroom feet. "I must seek comfort from Toad." Toad was living in his house instead of the castle for the weekend because Peach had given him a weekend-off.

Peach entered Toad's house, which was suspiciously silent.

"Toad?" Peach called, instantly getting annoyed with her childish voice. "Are you here?" After not getting any responses, Peach decided to search for Toad in his house. She knew that Toad was not an early riser and that he should be somewhere in his home.

The first room Peach looked in was Toad's bedroom. And on Toad's bed was...

"A peach?" Peach murmured. "Strange."

"Hey! Who are you?" a voice cried out.

"Huh? Who's there?" Peach glanced around the room.

Toad had an idea. He decided to attempt to scare the intruder.

"That does not matter," he stated bluntly. "I will now interrogate you and failure to answer my questions will result in death. Understand?"

"W-what?!" Peach jumped a little, confused and terrified at the same time. "O-okay, fine!"

"Good," Toad tried to maintain a serious tone in his voice. "Now, what is your name and why are you here?"

"I'm Princess Peach, but I was turned into a toad!" Peach replied honestly. "I'm here because I'm looking for Toad! I need to meet him."

"Princess Peach?" Toad said. "It's me, Toad!"

"Where are you?" Peach questioned worriedly.

"I'm here, on the bed!" Toad answered.

"... Toad?" Peach responded. "Were you turned into a peach?"

"Yup, I was!" Toad exclaimed. "And you're a toad now?"

"Yes," Peach replied.

"This is weird. I'm a peach and you're a toad..." Toad mumbled. 

"Oh!" Peach gasped. "I get it! Whoever decided to pull this nasty prank on us shall be punished!"

"Well what should we do, Princess?" Toad asked.

"Let's speak to Yoshi," Peach suggested. "I'm sure he can solve the problem somehow."

"Okay," Toad said. "Let's go to Yoshi's house!" Peach was about to skip out of the room when she realized something.

"This won't work unless I carry you, will it?" Peach sighed.

"I guess so," Toad replied. Peach picked up Toad and started the trip to Yoshi's house.

*twenty minutes later*

"Where are the cookies?" Yoshi questioned. 

"What do you mean?" Peach said.

"You're another one of those toadette scouts, aren't you?" Yoshi replied. "So, where are the cookies?"

"I am NOT a toadette scout," Peach stated. "I'm Princess Peach, but I was somehow turned into a toad. The peach I'm holding is actually Toad."

"So you're Peach the toad and Toad the peach?" Yoshi asked.

"Basically," Toad muttered. Yoshi burst into laughter.

"That's hilarious!" he exclaimed. "I have to thank whoever thought of that!"

"Yoshi!" Peach scolded. "This isn't a laughing matter. Toad and I came here because we need your help to make us become our correct species."

"Well, I may have a cure for you two," Yoshi smiled, allowing Peach and Toad to come into his house.

"Thank you," Peach grinned.

"You're welcome," Yoshi replied. "Just sit at the dining table for now. I'll be with you in a few minutes." Peach sat at the dining table with Toad and the two of them waited for Yoshi to join them.

Three minutes later, Yoshi came to the dining room, holding a bowl off odd-looking food.

"Umm... What is that?" Peach questioned.

"Apple-mallows," Yoshi answered.

"What did you say?" Toad said, puzzled.

"They look like apple-flavored marshmallows, but taste like marshmallow-flavored apples," Yoshi explained.

"Where did you get those?" Peach asked, weirded out.

"Secret," Yoshi grinned. "Anyways Peach, you have to eat all of the apple-mallows in three minutes and take a nap right after you're done. Toad, you just have to do the napping part since you can't eat anything."

"Seems simple enough," Peach murmured as she picked up her first apple-mallow. She quickly ate it and proceeded to eat the others in the bowl.

Peach managed to finish all of the apple-mallows in less than three minutes and headed to the couch in the living room, where she was planning to nap. Once Peach was out of the dining room, Yoshi turned to Toad.

"Toad?" he said. "Are you awake?" Yoshi didn't get any responses, so he assumed Toad was asleep. Finally, he thought excitedly, licking his lips. I'm SO hungry. 

Yoshi picked up the peach and took a large bite out of it.

"Yum," Yoshi mumbled. He decided not to take any more bites, since he feared that would kill Toad. Yoshi just headed to his kitchen and ate whatever strange food was there.

*thirty minutes later*

Peach woke up and immediately noticed that she was a human again. I have to thank Yoshi, she thought happily.

Meanwhile, Toad also woke up on the dining table. He realized that he was no longer a peach. I have to thank Yoshi, Toad thought happily.

Peach and Toad simultaneously went to the kitchen, where Yoshi happened to be.

"Hello!" Yoshi said. "I see that the apple-mallows- oh." He noticed that although Peach was perfectly fine, the top of Toad's head was missing. Peach turned to look at Toad and gasped.

"Toad," she pointed at the mushroom, startled. "You may want to look at yourself in a mirror." Toad exited the kitchen in search of a mirror. He soon ran back into the kitchen, screaming.

"Yoshi!" Toad wailed. "What happened to my face?!"

"Umm... I dunno," Yoshi lied. "You should go to Rosalina, she might be able to fix that problem."

That afternoon, two people ran out of Yoshi's house. One was joyful, the other was panicked.

I'm sorry if this lacked humor. At least it was longer than most of the other recent chapters. If you also read "Randomness With Mario & Friends!" by awzumnez, you may see a reference in this chapter. Btw this book only has three more chapters after this! I'm actually kinda excited to end this book bc I will publish another one once this is completed. I hope you all will enjoy my next book. Anyways please add, comment, vote, etc. Thanks!
