When they first met Anya was just 21, but sorrowfully, after 55 years Anya's life span grievously came. Anya knew Ivan was an immortal and Ivan knew Anya was a mortal; however that never did stop them from becoming the closet friends they have been for so long.

A month before her death Anya was diagnosed with Tuberculosis, she knew it meant her and Ivan's friendship would be very grieving for Ivan because he would never get to see Anya again.

On the day of her death Anya made Ivan keep a promise he would never forget. "Ivan, promise me you will never grieve for the rest of your life, and keep using that smile so you will never feel lonely again; maybe someone might become your friend, so please keep this promise."  "Of course my little sunflower."

After they made the promise, Anya sorrowfully died from tuberculosis.
