As Rainbow Dash was swimming home, 3 creatures were spying on her through a crystal ball. They were the Sirens. Their names were Adagio, Sonata, and Aria. They weren't ordinary sirens, they had magical powers and were banished from Atlantis before Rainbow Dash was born.

Adagio: Well well, if it isn't the daughter of the great sea king, the child is in love with a human.

Sonata: What's so great about that?

Adagio: Don't you get it?! Ever since the king's wife died, he's claimed to his only daughter that humans were dangerous, she doesn't care. Perhaps we could use her.

Aria: Uh oh, I know that look. You have a plan, don't you? What's the plan, try to harm her father?

Adagio: Precisely...

Meanwhile, when Rainbow Dash swam home, her father was waiting for her.

Rainbow: Oh...hey Dad.

Dad: Rainbow, where were you? You missed your concert.

Rainbow: That was today?! Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! I completely forgot!

Rainbow Dash hugged her father as a way of apologizing, but he didn't buy it. He was furious at the fact that his daughter had missed something really important to him.

Dad: This was your one chance to make your mother proud.

Rainbow: Dad, there are other ways I can make Mom proud, she supported me in whatever I chose to do.

She looked down as if she wanted to cry.

Rainbow: *sniffles* I'm sorry, I just get like this when I think of Mom.

In tears, she swam into her room. Her mom was all she could think of now. She picked up a picture of her and her mom when she was only 3. It was all she had to remember her and the only photo she had.

Rainbow: Oh Mom...I know you're watching me right now...you probably know about my human friend, Soarin...I just wish you were here right now...I miss you so much. Why'd you have to go, Mommy...?

She hugged her photo.

Rainbow: You were my whole world...until that tragic day...

A flashback flowed through her head of the tragic day her mom died.

On Rainbow's 4th birthday, her parents took her up to the surface for a surprise. To her surprise, the merfolks played a special birthday song just for her. She was so happy she hugged her mom. But the happiness didn't last long, shortly afterwards, a ship started heading their way. All the merpeople swam below the surface to return to Atlantis. Rainbow Dash, however, got her fin stuck to a rock and the ship was really close. Her mom, seeing this, hurried to loosen the rock and free her daughter, just before the ship crashed. Rainbow Dash swam below the surface into her father's arms. But when she was waiting for her mom to catch up, she never came.

As Rainbow Dash thought about the worst day of her life, tears flowed down her cheeks. Ever since the day of her Mom's death, her father had been grieving and seemed to have never recovered.

Rainbow: Oh Mommy...why...why did you have to die?

A knock on the door was heard.

Rainbow: *sniffles* Go away...

Her father swam into her room.

Dad: It's me, Rainbow.

Rainbow: What do you want?

Dad: I just wanna apologize.

Rainbow Dash looked up at her father. Apologize? For what?

Rainbow: For what?

Her father sat next her, wrapping an arm around her.

Dad: I forgot about your reaction when your mother is mentioned. I was planning on postponing the concert, but I decided to cancel it.

Rainbow: Why? I thought you said it was my only chance at making Mom proud.

Dad: You were right, there are other ways to make your mom proud, not just that.

Rainbow Dash gave a small smile.

Rainbow: So you see it my way now.

Unfortunately, this beautiful moment didn't last very long. Late at night, Rainbow Dash snuck to her secret cave, gazing at the sapphire she found on the sunken ship. To her surprise, her father had followed her.

Rainbow: *gasps* Um...hi Dad...check out this cave filled with treasures I found!

Dad: Stop trying to hide it, I know everything. How you've been hiding human things from me and going to the surface. Humans are dangerous!

Rainbow: But Dad, you don't know that! What if they're not as bad as you think?!

Dad: And where's your proof?

At this moment, Rainbow Dash let it all out.

Rainbow: I'M FRIENDS WITH A HUMAN NAMED SOARIN!!! *gasps*

Dad: You're WHAT?! That can't be possible! He's a human, you're a mermaid!

Rainbow: *voice breaking* So?! What's the difference! He's such a nice guy!

Dad: You don't know that! He could be playing you to lure you into his clutches!

Rainbow: No he's not!

In rage and disappointment, her father raised his trident, destroying every piece of treasure Rainbow Dash had found.

Rainbow: Dad, no! Please!

Too late, everything in the cave was destroyed, every piece of treasure, gone. Rainbow's father stormed off leaving her in deep sadness.
