Pinkie and Fluttershy swam into the cave, Rainbow Dash looked a little sad.

Fluttershy: What's wrong, Dashie?

Rainbow: *sniffles* Nothing, just wishing I could be a part of the human world.

Fluttershy: But you know what your father said about humans, they're dangerous.

Pinkie: Freaky-deaky!

Rainbow: Yeah, he says they're dangerous, but has no idea why.

Tank swam next to Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy petted him.

Rainbow: *sighs*

Fluttershy: I know you're upset, Dashie, but rules are rules.

Rainbow: Very unfair rules.

Fluttershy rubbed Rainbow's back.

Rainbow: I think I need to talk some-

Rainbow Dash stopped mid-sentence when the girls spotted some kind of thing pass the surface.

Pinkie: Ooh! What's that?

Rainbow: I dunno, I'm gonna take a look.

Fluttershy grabbed Rainbow's fin.

Fluttershy: I dunno if that's a good idea, Dashie.

Rainbow: Oh, come on, stop being such a party pooper.

Rainbow Dash and her friends swam up to the surface, their eyes gleamed at the sight of a huge cruise ship.

Pinkie: Cool!

Rainbow: *gasps* Whoa...

Rainbow Dash swam closer to the cruise.

Fluttershy: Dashie, wait!

Rainbow Dash took a glance at the cruise. She reached for a certain spot to take a closer look. The cruise was filled with humans!

Rainbow: Humans...

She caught sight of six human teenagers. They're names were Soarin Skies, Flash Sentry, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, and Sunset Shimmer. Soarin was staring out in the ocean.

Twilight: What's wrong, Soarin?

Soarin: Nothing. Just thinking.

Flash: Dude, is it about looking for a soul mate?

Soarin: Stop!...*sighs* The right girl's out there, I know it.

Rainbow Dash saw Soarin and within seconds, she fell in love with him.

Rarity: Darling, I'm certain you'll find her one day.

Soarin: *sighs* She can't just be a girl, she's gotta be beautiful, smart, funny, brave and...you know.

Pinkie popped out next to Rainbow Dash.

Pinkie: Ooh! Whatcha lookin' at?!?

Rainbow: *whisper yells* Pinkie, be quiet! They'll hear you.

Pinkie: Okay! I can do that!

Rainbow Dash covered Pinkie's mouth.

Pinkie: *muffles*

Rainbow: Shhhhhh! Look.

Rainbow Dash continued watching the man of her dreams, he was so beautiful.

Pinkie: What?

Rainbow: He's beautiful, isn't he?

Pinkie had no idea why Rainbow Dash was suddenly so dreamy, but it didn't really matter to her.

Soarin: Who knows? Maybe this girl will somehow just come to me...just BAM!!! Like lightning.

Easier said than done, at that same moment a storm broke out, the waves were crashing against the cruise, the rain came pouring down like a cascading waterfall. It was almost as if the world had turned upside down.

Pinkie: Dashie, we better head back!

Rainbow: No, those people are in danger!

Both girls fell from the cruise into the ocean. Rainbow Dash immediately swam back up, she watched the terrified people in horror. Lightning struck the cruise causing it to catch on fire. People had to get onto rafts to survive this traumatic moment. Soarin, on the other hand was knocked unconscious and into the water.

Rainbow: Soarin!

Rainbow Dash immediately swam down in search of Soarin. When she caught sight of him, she swam to him. Scooping him up in her arms, she carried her prince to shore, a nearby beach she knew. When the storm cleared, Rainbow Dash looked down at Soarin who was completely motionless.

Rainbow: Soarin? Are you alright?

No reply.

Rainbow: Soarin, wake up! *tears up* Please!

Rainbow Dash continued to shake Soarin until at last, he coughed up the water that had been in is lungs and slowly opened his eyes.

Rainbow: *gasps* Thank goodness you're okay!

Soarin sat up.

Soarin: *coughs* Thanks.

Rainbow: Of course, I couldn't let you die out there. I hope the rest of your ship crew are okay.

Soarin: Thanks...what's your name?

Rainbow Dash suddenly grew shy.

Rainbow: Nevermind what they call me. I-I'm nobody.

Soarin: Nobody? There's no one I know that's named "nobody." My name's Soarin.

Rainbow: I know.

Soarin noticed Rainbow Dash's tail.

Soarin: You're a mermaid?

Rainbow: *gasps*...Yeah.

Soarin: That's amazing!

Rainbow: Really?

Soarin: Of course, I've always wanted to see a real mermaid.

Rainbow: *giggles*...My name's Rainbow Dash. I'm a princess.

Soarin: Awesome! Where do you live?

Rainbow: Where do you think? The heavens?

Soarin: No, I mean, where's your home?

Rainbow: Underwater, duh.

Soarin: No, no, where underwater?

Rainbow: Oh...Atlantis. What about you?

Soarin: I live in Canterlot.

Rainbow: Where's that?

Soarin pointed at a path from where they were.

Soarin: Right down that path, I'd show you, but...you can't leave the water.

Rainbow: Yeah, I can't even come up here. My dad says I'm not allowed above the surface of the ocean, but I really wanna see what this world's like. He's worried I might get hurt like my mom.

Soarin: What happened to your mom?

Rainbow: She was hit by a ship accidentally. When my dad retrieved her, he was hoping she was still alive but it was too late, she was already dead.

Soarin: I'm so sorry to hear that. I'll bet she was a good queen.

Rainbow: It's okay, I was only 4 when she died, no biggie.

Soarin noticed the tears forming in Rainbow Dash's eyes. He pulled her into a hug.

Soarin: It's okay if your grieving.

Rainbow: It's fine, Soarin, it was a long time ago.

Soarin: No it's not, I know exactly how you feel.

Rainbow: *sniffles* You do?

Soarin: Yeah, my dad died when I was only 8.

Rainbow: What happened?

Soarin: He was hit by a car on his way back from work, he was rushed to the hospital right away, but he died a few hours later. My little sister, Storm is taking it pretty hard that she never knew him. Not a day goes by that I don't think about my dad.

Rainbow: I'm so sorry about your dad.

Soarin: Thanks.

Rainbow: I miss my mom just as much.

Soarin: ...By the way, I think I know how you feel?

Rainbow: About what?

Soarin: My mom doesn't let me go anywhere other than school.

Rainbow: Why?

Soarin: She doesn't want to lose me the way she lost Dad.

Rainbow: I totally get it, it's almost like you're...

Both: Trapped! *gasp* Really?

Rainbow: You feel that way?

Soarin: Yeah, I do.

Rainbow: Finally, someone I can connect with.

The two talked and talked for hours, the sun was beginning to set. Rainbow Dash relaxed, resting her head on Soarin's shoulder.

Rainbow: Long day, huh?

Soarin: Yup, I have to go back to school soon.

Rainbow: School?

Soarin: ..You don't have school?

Rainbow: No, I'm home all the time nowadays.

Soarin: That's too bad.

Rainbow: Yeah, I wanna learn so much. I wanna be up here in this world instead of down there.

Rainbow Dash's necklace suddenly glowed.

Soarin: What's that?

Rainbow: My dad's calling me. My necklace glows when he wants me, I have to get back home.

Soarin: Oh, okay. I hope to see you again soon.

Rainbow: Yeah, you too.

Rainbow Dash gave Soarin a hug goodbye and went back home to Atlantis.
