So Close, Yet Too Far Gone
Izuku hummed as he sipped the river water, his ears flattened against his head. He was used to this, it felt so natural too him, as if he'd been this way his whole life.
It didn't bother him, the way his body had been changed. He just didn't care enough to feel a certain way about it.
Izuku felt incredibly numb. He couldn't make out any of his emotions, it were as if they were dulled.
Something in the back of his mind told him that it wasn't a good thing. He was concered, but he just pushed the feeling away. He didn't matter enough for it to be important.
Izuku dipped his head in, cleaning his antlers off. He cleaned his hair out while he was at it, before pulling his head out, and shaking the water out.
He had noticed that he seemed to act similarly to an actual deer, he was easily startled, whenever he heard a noise his ears would stand up, he tended to be more active in the early morning or late afternoon, and several other habits that he didn't have before. While he still had the capability to stand on hind legs, he prefered to stand on all fours. At least, while he was grazing, or drinking water. He was also much faster, and more agile.
Izuku sighed, pushing himself up onto his hind legs. He wondered how his mom was doing without him. Probably alot better.
That wasn't true. In actuallity, Inko was just a shell of herself without Izuku. But Izuku had no way of knowing that, he was trapped in this forest for the rest of his existance.
He didn't mind it too much.
Sure, he had to live like a deer, but it was better than being usless.
Izuku felt a pang of hunger in his stomache, and walked away from the river. He went over to an area with long grass, and began grazing. It tasted good, strangely enough.
After he had finished, he went to go find a soft place to sleep.

While Bakugou was angry about what had happened to Deku, he made a decision. He would become a hero, not just for him, but for Izuku Midoriya. And for Auntie Inko.
He felt extremely guilty for what had happened as well, knowing that he could have stopped it. If he had been nicer to the green headed boy, would they have still been friends? Would Deku still try to be a hero?
Probably.
He wished he could go back, and fix the way he treated his childhood friend.
But, would he even change his behavior? He doubted it. It was too late, anyway.
Too little, too late. That's what they said.
The past wouldn't change. It simply wouldn't.
He growled, punching a tree.
He was training in the woods. Bakugou was so focused, he didn't notice the eyes of a forest spirit watching him closely.
Bakugou punched the tree again, using an explosion on it.
He heard a rustling behind him, and turned to look at the sound. "Who the fuck is there?" He growled.
Antlers poked out of the bushes. And then hands. The hands parted the leeves of the bushes, revealing... Deku? But he looked like some sort of dear creature. "Kacchan... these forests are dangerous for humans.... you should leave. The others don't like humans...." Deku mumbled, his dear-like ears sticking straight up.
"Deku? What are you talking about?" Bakugou questioned, and Deku shook his head, "The other forest spirits, Kacchan. They don't like humans."
Bakugou "tch"ed, "those aren't real, Deku."
Deku just stared at him with those big, doe eyes, before rushing back into the bushes.
Wait.... How was he talking to Deku? He was supposed to be dead!
And, why did he look like some sort of human-dear hybrid..?
Bakugou shook his head. He was probably imagining it.
~~~~~
Izuku galloped through the woods, the sound of his hooves hitting the ground echoing in the trees. He didn't know why he was going so fast, he just felt like he needed to.
Bang bang!!!
His ears rotated towards the sound, identifying it as gunshots coming from behind him.
He started galloping even faster, fear filling his being despite the fact that he was already dead. And besides, he was only half way dear, they wouldn't shoot him if they noticed his human half. Right?
Izuku didn't care, his instincts said to run, so he ran. It was that simple.
When he decided he got far enough away, Izuku curled up in the grass. He was tired, and wanted to sleep.
