Welcome to The Littérateurs Prompt Contest! This is a biweekly contest, so every two weeks we'll be posting a new prompt, as long as there are enough people who want to participate.

A littérateur is a person who is interested in and knowledgeable about literature, especially a professional writer (Merriam-Webster). A lot of us have that goal in mind, and so here is a perfect place for you to hone your skills and practice some writing outside of your regular novel. It can help with inspiration, technical skills, and more.

This word is based in the French language and was mostly used in the 19th century. We think it's classy and perfectly describes what our goal here is.
