Chapter 48
In the middle of August, exactly a year from now, Xavier and I will have our perfect wedding. I want it to be as humanly possible. We're taking our time with the preparations, and after announcing it to the Clowder and my father, only one part is missing. The Lyons.
Xavier goes out of his way, booking two tickets to Africa. Angola, to be precise. He wants to see his parents' reactions live, and I can't say no to that. I don't want to, anyway, so a month after his proposal, we fly from Ontario to Angola, leading us here.
Xavier's driver picks us up from the airport, leading us to his family's house. The sun is up, the wind is non-existent, and the traffic is endless. We've been stuck in it for at least an hour now. "Why is there so much traffic?" I ask as I look out of the window seeing cars dirtied in mud slowly moving forward with music blasting out of their speakers.
Not going to lie, I'm loving the chaos.
"There's always traffic. You'll get used to it," Xavier says, pushing his dark shades up his nose. The driver says something in Portuguese, making Xavier laugh before getting a proper reply from him.
I've never really heard Xavier speak his mother tongue, and listening to it now makes me wonder how many more things I don't know about the man I'm about to get married to. His voice seems even lower when he speaks Portuguese. I like it.
"What did he say?" I whisper to him.
"Just that my English got better since the last time we saw each other," he says.
"Now that I think about it, you've been in Ontario for over ten years now, and you still can remember Portuguese?" I ask with a frown.
"Yeah, well, my parents always check up on me, so maintaining that constant contact never made me start forgetting it. That's been very helpful."
For the rest of the slow ride, we chat about his Portuguese knowledge, and he tries to teach me a few words about it but fails because of my awful accent.
When we arrive at his house, two large wooden doors automatically open, and we drive inside, parking beside the front door. There's a beautiful garden surrounding us, and when we get out of the car, we're greeted by barking dogs. I jump at the sound and quickly lace my arm around Xavier's, hiding behind him as the two Dobermans approach us.
He laughs at my reaction. "They don't bite," he says as he pats their heads. Their heavy breathing is loud, and I freeze when I feel their noses around my legs. Foxy is on alert, making my eyes glow as she holds back a hiss.
They're going to kill me in my sleep tonight. I can feel it.
"Let's just go inside, please," I quietly say, pressing my body against his back, trying to escape their invasive noses.
Xavier laughs, leading us to the front door that opens with a beautiful, elegant black lady who has the same eyes as Xavier. They're a constant golden glow. Her dark hair is straightened, falling over her covered chest. Her make-up makes her brown face smooth and natural. Xavier definitely received his plump lips from her. She says something in their mother tongue that leaves me with a question mark in my head.
He effortlessly replies before abruptly switching to English. "I hope you don't mind our new guest," he says, looking at me.
I smile at the woman, handing her my hand to shake. "It's an honor to meet you, ma'am. I'm Alexa Reeds."
She tilts her head to the side, eyeing me up and down. I'm wearing a simple black summer jumpsuit, so there's not much to see. "I'm Alicia, your friend's mother. Come inside, please," she says in a thick adorable accent.
She doesn't shake my hand. I glance at Xavier while she walks inside. He shrugs his shoulders as mine slump forward. That's not a good start.
Regardless we walk into the living room, and I'm in awe. There's a large window giving us the view of a beautiful pool linked with a small waterfall. Brown and white furniture elegantly fill the rooms.
"Would you like something to drink?" Mrs. Lyon asks, and before I can reply, Xavier steps forward.
"No, I want to show her the city first," he says, and without waiting for her reply, he grabs my wrist and drags me upstairs.
"I don't think I'm having a good first impression," I say, sighing.
Xavier winks at me, putting his arm over my shoulders. "A friend of mine once said 'you'll come up with something,'" he says in an awful girly voice that makes me snort.
The hallway is short, giving us four wooden doors: two in front of us and two on the sides. Xavier opens the door on the left.
I am starstruck and surprised because our luggage is already here. Imagine spending the week in a luxurious king-sized bed with dozens of Disney and Marvel's teddy bears. "I can't believe you used to live here," I say as I touch the old MacBook that used to be a beast in the early two-thousands.
"Me neither," he says, and I turn toward the lion, seeing him picking up Iron Man fluffy plush.
"Didn't you miss it?" I ask, sitting down on the comfiest bed.
Xavier joins me, lying on his back, staring at the expensive chandelier. "Miss what?"
My hand waves around. "This life."
He laughs. "Oh, you have no idea. I was a brat when I first arrived in Ontario. Everybody knows me here, and I thought it would be the same there as well. Boy, was I wrong," he says, shaking his head as if dismissing the childhood memory.
"I'm glad I didn't meet you at that stage of your life. I could have killed you."
Xavier snorts as I push my body further onto the bed. I crawl until my face hovers over the lion. His hand comes to my hair as we stare at each other.
"You're gorgeous, you know?" he says in a husky tone that brings me goosebumps.
"Are you trying to make me blush?" I ask as he trails his fingers down my arm. Heat spreads throughout my body, and it's not because of the warm temperature of the room.
"No, I just wanted to compliment you. I feel like I don't do that enough," Xavier says, pushing his body in a sitting position only to push me down.
"Your mom is here," I whisper when I feel a teasing finger making my bud twitch in anticipation.
"You just have to be quiet." He kisses me as my hands move to his broad back, loving the way he contracts his muscles against my touch.
Plush toys get thrown out of the bed, followed by our clothes and our goal of being quiet. Upon entering me, my voice breaks, and when the feline starts moving, I get louder.
He tries to help me by covering my mouth with his hand, but I don't think it's helping much. "Fuck, I'm gonna cum soon if you keep moaning like that," he breathes out into the crook of my neck. He gently bites my neck as his other hand is tightly holding the creme sheets beneath me.
His hips easily roll in and out of me when something he had never done happens. Xavier's hand slides from my mouth to my neck. The feeling of my oxygen getting cut off from him weirdly arouses me.
I can feel my wetness leaking out of me, and he pulls his head up to look at me. My lower lip is in-between my teeth, and as he squeezes his hand, I gasp out a moan.
"Oh, that's kinky," he says with a mischievous grin.
I'm too focused on the pleasure to acknowledge his new finding, but he doesn't seem to care about getting an answer from me. My eyes rolling back as he slams into me is enough. A deep growl booms in the room as he gets rougher.
Both of our feline make an appearance making us half-shift. With glowing eyes, he slides his hand to my breast, pinching my nipple. My back arches as I curse under my breath. Xavier grins when I look at him. "What?" I breathe out.
He shakes his head as I make us roll down, going on top of him. "I'm going to enjoy making your ass turn red," he says, slapping my butt. My eyes widen at the loud sound.
I think I unconsciously just opened a whole new world for us.
