The Prince Has Come Home
Sarabi
Later the same exact day...
"SARABI!" Scar loudly calls, his voice echoing.
I ascend Pride Rock. The hyenas snap at my heels. I only glare disdainfully at them.
"Yes, Scar?" I answer.
"Where is your hunting party? They're not doing their job."
"Scar, there is no food. The herds have moved on."
"No. You're just not looking hard enough."
I look at him with seriousness. "It's over. There is nothing left. We have only one choice. We must leave Pride Rock."
Scar shook his head. "We're not going anywhere."
"Then you have sentenced us to death."
"Then so be it."
My face is filled with disgust and amaze. "You can't do that."
"I'm the king. I can do whatever I want."
"If you were half the king Mufasa was you would nev-"
Scar hits me like he done Sarafina earlier, knocking me down to the hard cold ground.
"I'm ten times the king Mufasa was!" He growled, with anger.
The lionesses were about to rush over and help me, but the hyenas had sent them death glares.
"Sarabi!" Sarafina panicked.
I tried to get up, but I just couldn't. My legs wobble sending me back on the ground.
I am too weak...
But then, a different loud roar had cause for everyone to turn their heads.
It appears on the ledge, growling loudly. A male lion leaps out and runs to me. He looks exactly like my deceased husband, Mufasa. Scar is understandably frightened and backs fast away.
"Mufasa? No. You're dead." Scar said.
I slowly faint but was awaken by a nudge.
I look up and met my eyes with the male's ruby colored ones. "Mufasa?"
"No. It's me." He answered.
"Simba?" I smile delighted. My son is alive! "Simba? You're alive?" But then I got confused. "How can that be?"
"It doesn't matter. I'm home!" He smile, nuzzling me.
Scar looked confused. "Simba..." He was lost in thought for a second then chuckled. "Simba! I'm a little surprised to see you," He gave the l hyenas above him an angry look. "Alive..."
On the word "Alive," Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed gulp audibly and slink into the shadows.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't rip you apart." Simba said, walking up to Scar frowning.
Backing into a wall, apologetic Scar says "Oh, Simba, you must understand. The pressures of ruling a kingdom..."
"...Are no longer yours. Step down, Scar."
"Oh, oh, ye - Well, I would, heh, naturally, heh - however, there is one little problem. You see them?" Scar said pointing to the horde of hyenas on the rocks above. "They think I'M king."
Nala surprisingly appears with the rest of the lionesses.
She's alive too! This is great news. The Great Kings did say she'd bring back something powerful, good, and mighty. It was my son all along. Maybe we're saved after all...
"Well, we don't. Simba is the rightful king." Nala interrupts.
The lionesses and Sarafina help me up to my paws.
"The choice is yours, Scar. Either step down or fight." Simba finishes.
"Oh, must it all end in violence? I'd hate to be responsible for the death of a family member. Wouldn't you agree, Simba?" Scar says.
"That's not gonna work, Scar. I've put it behind me."
"Eh, but what about your faithful subjects? Have they put it behind them?"
"Simba, what is he talking about?" Nala asks, confused.
Scar look delighted. "Ahh, so you haven't told them your little secret. Well, Simba, now's your chance to tell them. Tell them who is responsible for Mufasa's death!"
Scar's last line causes the lionesses to start. All are concentrating on Simba.
Simba steeling himself, then taking a step forward. "I am"
I approach Simba with much grief. "It's not true. Tell me it's not true."
"It's true." He answer, with regret.
"You see! He admits it! Murderer!" Scar says.
But this can't be true...
Simba wouldn't of killed his father...
He loved him very much!
Something isn't right here...
Lightning crashes behind Scar's head to punctuate the line.
"No. It was an accident."
Scar walks around and around Simba as he accuses him.
"If it weren't for you, Mufasa would still be alive. It's your fault he's dead? Do you deny it??"
"No."
"Then... you're... guilty."Scar said, severely.
"No. I'm not a murderer." Simba said, truthfully.
"Oh, Simba, you're in trouble again. But this time, Daddy isn't here to save you. And now EVERYONE.. KNOWS... WHY!"
Scar has been backing Simba up the length of Pride Rock. After his last sentence, Simba slips over the edge and is clinging to the ledge by his forepaws. Lightning strikes below, igniting a fire.
"Simba!" Nala yells panicking.
Sarafina, the lionesses, and I all gasp.
