Princesses

*Kaisa's POV*

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Haven't done Uru's birth pride in a while 😊.

At the Sky Leaf Pride, same day...

"Emem, stop biting on my tail!" Dayo says irritatedly.

Kibwe tackles his second oldest brother Emem. He laughs, "Got ya!"

Emem falls down on his back growling playfully at his young brother. Dayo, the oldest of the two decides to join the fun.

I was in charge watching my three little sons while Taavi went to go do his normal Lion Guard duties.

"Kaisa?"

I turn my head away from the cubs for a few seconds and see my best friend Zaina come forward.

I smile, "Good morning, Zaina!"

She smiles back and head bud me. "Me and the girls came to visit if it's alright?"

"You guys are always welcome to our den. I thought I told you that before?"

"Yeah, you did. I don't know why, I just feel like asking a lot."

Zaina and I both laugh. I look down at her and Jengo's two daughters. Both gorgeous girls sharing their parents strong genes. Their names are Ama and Zawadi. Ama takes Jengo's fur, Zawadi takes Zaina's. Ama has Zaina's extra cheek fur, Zawadi does not.

"Hi miss Kaisa!" Ama greets, bowing.

Zaina chuckles, "You don't have to bow all the time, dear."

"Oh."

Ama giggles. Zawadi looks around smiling.

"Where are your sons? I want to play with them!" She says, eagerly.

"Boys!" I call.

Dayo, Emem, and Kibwe run up. "Yes, mama?" They ask in unison.

"Ama and Zawadi are here to play."

Dayo tackles Ama down. "Ama!"

"Dayo!" She laughs, then paw at his furry face.

Zawadi hits Emem's right shoulder. "Tag your it!"

Everyone ran off to go play. Kibwe was the only one who stayed behind.

"What's wrong, Kibwe?" Zaina asks.

"Yeah son, why aren't you playing with the others? I thought you like playing with the princesses??" I ask.

Kibwe climb on my back and laid down. He sighed sadly, "I do. But sometimes it's like everyone forgets that I'm even there. I feel left out in games!"

"Oh Kibwe, I'm sure they know your there." I say.

"Mama I'm the youngest out of the whole group, think about it.Dayo and Emem treats me like a baby in front of the princesses which is kind of embarrassing. Then they take Ama and Zawadi away from me on purpose when I ask to play."

Zaina sits down chuckling, "I think I know where Kibwe is going with this, Kaisa."

At first I didn't understand what Zaina meant. I thought about it then smiled.

"Kibwe, how about you go play at the river? I'm sure there's some fish you can try to catch. Your father wants you and your brothers to become strong hunters!"

Kibwe exhale a breath. He got down from my back. "Okay, mama."

I nuzzle him and lick the extra hair of tuft on his head. "Good."

Kibwe runs off. I look at Zaina, "So you really think he has a small crush on one of your daughters?"

Zaina shook her head, "What? No, I wasn't thinking that. Why? You think so, Kaisa??"

"Oh sorry! I think Kibwe just might. I've been watching them for a while now and see how he acts around Zawadi."

"Zawadi? I thought her and Emem are close??"

I put a paw on my forehead shaking my head. "This isn't going to turn out nice when they're older, Zaina."

"What do you mean?" She asks confused.

"If Kibwe likes Zawadi and Emem likes Zawadi, it might turn out to be a nasty fight. I don't want them fighting each other. Their brothers and will need each other's back someday!"

"Hmm, well how about we settle this by pairing them."

"Pairing them just how?"

Zaina smiles, "How about we betrothed them?"

My eyes widen, "This early?!"

"It's never too early, my friend. Most lions do it when cubs are first born. Jengo and I haven't decided yet who will rule the pride. Normally it's the oldest who rules. Ama nine times out of ten might become the next Queen. If she does, Dayo can be her King."

"Dayo?"

"You don't like the picking?"

I scratch the back of my neck. "I mean, do you think Dayo is the perfect fit for a King? He's young it's hard to tell now."

Zaina nods, "I agree. Let's just wait until they're all a bit older. Time will tell!"

"I do want to find someone for Kibwe though. You know, a friend. He's always alone. The only friends he really has is his brothers and maybe Zawadi. Too bad the other cubs here are teens."

"Don't worry Kaisa, Kibwe is going to be fine."

Zaina put her paw on top of my own. I smile nodding. I really hope Zaina is right.
