*Zira's POV*

Sun Pride...

Both my mom and step dad are out for the entire day. I was left to baby sit my two step siblings. Saada and Nemsi are a paw full! They won't stay still for nothing. I know they're cubs and all. But gosh!

I walk up to a bush. In my mouth I carried a thigh from an gazelle. I drop it down.

"Saada, Nemsi!" I called.

Two cubs run out from the bush with smiles.

"Yay, you brought dinner!" Said Saada.

Nemsi lift a brow. "Gazelle again Zira?"

I lay down and lick my paws clean. "That's all I could find for now. Be grateful Nemsi and eat your dinner. Some lions who are rouges are finding a hard time to get a meal. Some haven't eaten in weeks or months. At least we have family, a warm den, and a nice friendly pride to live in!"

Saada hit Nemsi's shoulder but not so hard to injure him. "Exactly!"

Nemsi rolled his eyes. "Alright."

The two dug in to the meat I brought them. I'm not hungry. I'll hunt later for me. I just want to make sure my siblings eat so mom won't yell at me. Once I put them to bed, I'll go hunt me something.

"Man, that was good!" Said Saada, laying on her back.

Nemsi let out a loud burp. Saada laughed and I shook my head.

I got up with a stretch. "Okay cubs, bed time! I don't want mother to snap at me when she comes home seeing you two awake."

"Oh come on Zira, give us five more minutes." Whined Nemsi.

"Nope, bed time. Come along you two!"

I start leading the way to the Pride's den. Saada who always follow orders walk beside me. Nemsi sat in his same position watching us go. I pause and turn around with a smirk.

"Oh no you don't!"

Before Nemsi could even get away, i race over and pick up by the scruff. Nemsi crossed his little furry arms with a frown. Saada chuckled while he stuck his tongue at her.

When we approach the den, Saada ran inside. I put Nemsi down. He race after her. I walked in normal and watch him tackle his sister. Saada giggled laying in her back while he stood over her growling playfully.

"That's enough you two. Save your energy for tomorrow!"

Nemsi got off of his sister. He went to go lay down in his usual spot. Saada did the same thing and curl herself in a small ball. I stare at them for awhile until their eyes are fully closed. They may be my step siblings, but I love them to death like real blood. If anyone ever hurts them I swear. I tip toe out the den and walk back into the grassy plains.

What do I want to eat tonight? Zebra? Nah. Antelope? No. Gazelle? Nope. Wilder Beast? Yes! I thought.

I spot wilder beasts drinking at a waterhole. It's dark now which will make hunt easy. Wilder Beast have poor sight at night. Us African cats night vision is 100x better. We can see everything!

I got low on the ground crawling my way up close. Just as I was about to pounce, the Wilder Beasts run off.

Huh?

I didn't scare them. What did? I sat up and scan my eyes around. I'm not alone. A scent came upon my nose. Another lion is here. I growl showing out my claws.

"SURPRISE!!!"

I turn around and next thing you know I got pinned. My eyes are closed. I'm frightened.

"It's me Zira, it's alright!" A deep voice chuckled.

I open my eyes and see a patch of green ones stare in mines. It's Taka! What the h-...

"Oh god. Did I really scare you?"

"GET OFF ME!" I shout.

Taka got off looking confused.

I stand up and growl with my claws still out.

"What is wrong with you?" He ask.

"What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you Taka?! You scared me to death! I could of easily slashed your throat open if I had the chance before you pinned me." I reply, with anger in my tone.

"Whoa, whoa. Let's all chill!"

I was breathing hard in and out. Taka walks up to me slowly. Each step he makes a growl louder and louder.

"Stay...away..." I warn him.

"Zira, it's alright. Your acting like I'm some random stranger." Taka said.

I swipe my paw at him, but Taka quickly caught it. I gasp and he smirks.

"Let my paw go!" I frown.

"You must calm down Zira. What did I ever do to you to make you so angry at me?" He ask, releasing my paw and sat down.

I turn my back on him hiding my sad face. "It's nothing Taka. Go back where you come from. I told you don't return here."

"I only came to visit you that's all. Guess I'll go since I'm disturbing you."

I hear Taka walk away. He came to visit me? How sweet? Wait, no. Get it together Zira. Ugh!

"Taka, wait."

Taka turned around. He came and sat next to me. "Are you going to tell me why you're so angry?"

I nod. My tail moved side to side nervously. Taka place a paw on top of mines with a smile. I smile back and start explaining why I dislike him and blah blah blah.

"I can't believe you felt that way!" Taka said shocked.

I growl. "I've always been jealous of you and Sarafina. The time you gave her that blue flower when we were Cubs. All you talked about was Sarafina this and Sarafina that. She has all the beauty and you have all the charm. It was perfect!"

"Well, I don't like Sarafina anymore."

"Wait, why not? Isn't she like your biggest crush??"

Taka look down sadly. "Yeah. But when Mufasa was announced as the Pride Lands next future King, I gave up on Sarafina. I was going to make her my Queen if became King. Sarafina probably only like me because I told her when I become King she'll be my Queen. She only likes me for stinking royalty. Not for who I am Zira!"

Right there it hit me. I felt bad for Taka.

"Mufasa took my crown and Sarafina away from me. My parents act like they didn't care so I ran away. Mufasa soon found me. We got into a big argument and fought. I bit his paw. My father came and found out. He got real angry with me when I tried attacking him too. So father clawed my eye. That's why I now have this Scar and won't ever return home." Taka continued. A tear roll down his furry cheek.

Oh my gosh. Taka has gone through a lot and here I am yelling at him over a lioness. I lean over gave him a hug.

"Shhhh, it's okay." I whisper softly.

Taka frown. "Now lions call me scar. I'm no longer Prince Taka."

I nod and release myself from hugging him. Now I see why he ran away. His father hurt him. Taka won't ever forgive. It's go be a long time if he does.

"I'm so sorry you have to go through this. It's been stressing you out. Where do you now stay?" I ask.

"At my cousin's pride. He's the King and said I can stay how ever long I want. They feed and take care me until I'm old enough to do it on my own." He replied.

"Makes sense."

The wind blew a cold breeze. I shiver and Taka notice me doing so.

"You better get home, it's cold tonight. I know you don't want to be sick." Taka smiles.

I got up. "Your right."

Taka stood up and start walking the opposite direction. "It was nice seeing you again and talking with you. Good night, Zira!"

"Goodnight, Taka! Uh I mean Scar."

I turn my way going down a path that leads back to the pride's den. Before I walked further away I turn my head and smiled.

"Oh, Scar!" I call.

He turn his head. "Yes?"

"You'll always be a King to me."

He smiled big and continue walking home. I chuckle shaking my head.
